    Chemical airsoft

Gonna update this here. Played my first game in 4 years and went to Chemical a few weeks ago. I've known the owners (Grant and Jack) for years from when they played at Trojan/Invasion in Stockport. As far as CQB sites go, it's pretty run of the mill. Corridors to lock down, flanking routes and plenty of cover. It is a tiny bit more speedsoft oriented with music playing during rounds but it was still fun. Semi only, no binary triggers when I went and a typical no nonsense rule set made for a relaxing and fun first game back. Smaller than Invasion was but that was fine, only 9 of us that day but it worked out.

  7. It was the attitude of the owner and staff I didn't like. After arriving slightly late due to the trains I still had a face mask round my neck (it was just after covid and taxis weren't taking passengers without one) only for said owner to go into a rant about how covid was killing his business and was a load of fuss over nothing. When he finally finished and I asked for clarification of pyro rules I was told not to bother as nobody takes them. Next I had to ask several times for someone to chrono my guns, only to be told they'd be there in a couple of minutes but they never bothered. In the end I thought fuck it and joined the next game as I knew the guns were all under site limits and I'm not paying money to stand in the safezone waiting for them to finish chatting. Then later after a game I had a marshal ask why I don't have a barrel sock. When I said this was the first I'd heard about needing one I got a grumpy reply of "well it's on the Facebook page" These along with a few other things gave me the impression they don't care and see customers as nothing but an inconvenience. I can't really say too much about the playing area as it was a night game so only one small part was used but I do agree that the facilities in the safezone were very good compared to some places I've been

  11. I'm unsure why you would think that. I hold an SIA licence, but it's not required to wear a body cam. You'd only need a licence if you weren't working for the Airsoft place and then only if you were watching the footage. Sia licences are to regulate the security industry, if you are working for the place that has the CCTV you don't need a licence. Otherwise someone in a school or shop would need an SIA licence. All you'd need to do to comply with data protection is have a policy and stick to it. Main thing being keep the video for the least amount of time you need to.

  13. Come tomorrow I'll have not played for two months. Every time I'm free on a Sunday with money to burn the weather has been shit with it pissing it down, but of course when I have to be somewhere / have orders from my wife it's dry and sunny! I can't remember the start to 2023 being anywhere near as wet. Am I just a grumpy old man or is anyone else as pissed off?

  14. Thanks for the reply. Now you mention it , I'm sure i remember reading about a M/L rubber being fitted. Seem to recal it needed the locating nub removing. Sounds like the difference is marginal then. I think I'll suggest that he and I have a comparison of his 416 against my L119 A1 which does have a crazy jet in it, whilst different brands they are at least the same basic platform, if mine is demonstrably more accurate or more consistant, I'll put a C/J in the 416 . I'll report back either way once we've had a try.

  15. I did, yeah. I returned it to patrol base who fixed it, iirc they replaced the nozzle and hop up unit. It's been firing around 330 - 332 ever since.

  16. I changed the hop rubber, but I'm buggered if I can remember what to! Hmm I'm thinking a green VSR-compatible thing, probably a Maple Leaf then. It might get a mention earlier in this thread (but can't go looking right now, about to go off to be sporty). And I bought a spare VFC one because like you, I think it's probably fine. I'd too would love to hear if a barrel swap makes any appreciable difference. More accuracy would always be appreciated. I had a plink in the garden just a couple of days ago. Just to re-affirm my absolute love of shooting this gun (and probably most other GBB's too)

  17. When I played there I thought it was pretty decent.... Only issue was a player had come up from two days at NAF and was whining about being shot at. Vaguely remember posting about it here at the time - it was rather funny. Site was good and facilities up there too.

    MP5 Mag Pouches

I've got a set of OPS Quattro SMG Pocket / Panel pouches for my mp7, which also fits mp5 mags. Comes with either bungee closure or flaps, and inside you can adjust the height for a better fit. I believe they also do them in doubles too.

  21. Again only if you're a third party contractor, those working directly for the site don't need to be licensed. According to the link the only person who might need to be licensed is the owner/director and that would depend on the reasons the cameras are worn
    1 point
  22. You can have cameras, body worn or otherwise with a simple policy. It's not a nightmare at all. If you contract in security they need to be licensed but otherwise you dont Without arguing this point, if it's in house it's also irrelevant.
    1 point
  23. Only if they're working for another company contracted to provide security etc, staff directly working "in house" don't. The only exceptions to this are door supervision in licenced premises or vehicle imobilisation (NI only)

  24. Makes two of us.... Went to a game day at RIFT Redcon 2 last weekend and went browsing the onsite shop (white sphere tactical) looking for red dot sights and risers. I thought to myself "you don't need any more guns"..... that went out the window when I spotted this KWA Beretta m93r GBB, and my love of unusual and uncommon guns over ruled my better judgement... My wallet now hates me... Now I'm on the search for more mags and a folding stock for it once paycheck lands

  28. My Worthing review is probably going to be *fractionally* shorter than @Impulse's. Got to Worthing, car park vaguely swamp like, but passable. Some hilarious sliding on mud/parking attempts observed. Chronoed and tested weapons. Glock 17 Gen 5 is a beast and hitting 50m on the range without issues. Had done some tweaking, building and improvement to P* engine'd M4 so needless to say that decided it wasn't going to work and I ran the NGRS MP5 instead. Considering throwing all HPA kit in the sea at this point (where ironically it would probably be more useful). Glorious sunshine for pretty much the whole day, without being too hot. Perfect airsoft weather really. First game much as described earlier. Standing waiting for rentals to accomplish something before charging off to do... something. There were 2 objective props somewhere out in the game field and they had instructions on what to do with them on them. I say this, because I heard it, but I never saw any sign of them or knew what the brief was. Through I don't mind the clock concept because it can allow for waves of attackers/reinforcements, I think it would be better with some whiteboards with the objectives written on them once known. Yes, you can potentially wander off and try and find a marshall (who will probably be standing in the middle of a firefight) to find out what's going on, but large objective games lead to all the players being scattered without any cohesion. I got into some good shootouts and snuck around a bit, but I didn't really know where I was going other than all the usual spots that people fight over. This game lasted basically the whole morning. The other suggestion around clocks is to have multiple spawn locations, because it makes it more of a 360 battle when you know you could have someone spawning in behind you in 10 mins, as well as give you the opportunity to respawn somewhere else if things are not working where you are. Can work, might be situational though. After lunch, a couple of matches of capture and hold base, fighting over 3 different locations. I was pleased to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with 8 seconds to go at the end of one of them by charging into the position. Reran it with different spawns and we lost that one 2 -1, so overall 1 match each. Plenty of movement and shooting, and clear objectives so it flowed ok. To finish the day off, it was attack/defend the tower with 1 life only for defenders, semi only for all. I opted to go up into the tower and shoot from there and am pleased to report there was some serious murder going on. Red dot sight paired with the accuracy of the MP5 mean there was a lot of rapid semi only kills on the first shot. There was also a Marshal up top, so they got to witness it all. I think we held out for 11-13 mins. Then the reversal and we somehow smashed in a new course record of under 2:30mins I believe. Then home for tea and medals. MP5 ran well all day. The low caps are consistently reliable feeders and .28's seem to work well in it. I did used to get feeding problems with the high caps, but the lows are good. Glock had its first outing and its first kills. Nice piece of kit. I am already suffering from everything hurting, but overall a good day out.

  29. In fairness to Luke and myself, this was after a whole litany of issues getting this bloody gun to work because G&P can't drill their receivers right. And if I'm remembering right, this was after only ONE instance of using it in inclement weather, so I was horrified that "a little bit of rain" did so much damage. This is mentally what I'm dealing with. Maybe I was just unlucky. I would love to better seal my AEGs against the rain, if there was a way to do it. Or have a specific AEG for use in the wet weather.

  30. No one, me included, knows what's "round the corner", so if you wanna play, then fuck the weather & a little bit of rust & play, & fuck Lukes ocd, if we all hung them on the wall, he'd make no money lol

  31. I paid around £100 in December, with the intention to gut it and get a bit more practice at working on AEGs, some parts are shockingly poor, such as the gearbox screws and the body pin which holds the gearbox in which were both seemingly made of cheese from how easily the body pin deformed and how one of the screw heads snapped off before the screw was tight. It was a bit alarming that it arrived firing 450fps (especially from a UK shop) and I think that some of the cheap parts used were probably not suitable for such a strong spring and would not have lasted very long. I have a couple of Cyma 002 M4 CQBRs which have the metal receivers, and I expected the cylinders/inner barrels to be the same, but the cheaper CM603 has what appears to be a red anodised cylinder and inner barrel, whereas the more expensive CM002 has what appears to be brass cylinders and outer barrels. I found the finish on the cheap inner barrel and cylinder to be better than I had expected, but I still plan on replacing the barrel with either an XT (If 380mm is available) or ZCI (although I've seen their quality is declining), and the cylinder I had used originally until the piston head screw scratched the inside after coming free. I'm thinking of ordering some ZCI 14 teeth pistons for the current build (as the previous one worked quite well before my mistake) and having a few ready for when I decide to work on the CM002s which I plan on doing the same work to, as they already have a tooth removed which will probably be better than me attempting to remove a tooth from a Cyma piston as I don't think I would be able to do a neat enough job to be happy with.

  32. Indeed, unfortunately as a sport so existentially reliant on good faith behaviour airsoft is particularly vunerable to degradation of trust. I've probably not worded it correctly with respect to gdpr specifically, my meaning is just that i dont think there's a legal issue with them filming as a matter of routine, especially with the vague notions of it being for the safety and security of patrons.

  33. finally pushed myself to go to an outdoors game despite the relatively poor weather last weekend. but at least the weather seems to be improving, if only incrementally. the going was a bit tougher than usual due to the recent heavy rainfall turning many paths to mud i have played a few games in less than ideal weather, but my most memorable one was the first AI500 game at the Citatel in Dover. the saturday afternoon saw a severe rainstorm (almost a monsoon) blow in with high winds, everyone turned into drowned rats almost instantly, the high winds making it impossible to shoot between buildings as the wind simply blew everyones BBs for miles. game was eventually called early after the winds began blowing roof tiles off one of the cell block buildings. lots of people called it early and went home due to the poor weather, especially as the high winds caused havoc with the camp site, ripping many tents to shreds and soaking everyones kit, one poor group even had their tent blow away and land in the channel. fortunately i avoided that fate as i had got to site early enough that myself and a few others were able to set up tents in the lee of several buildings at a lower level, though the heavy rainfall was turning the grass area to mud. the site owners opened up some buildings near the campsite so everyone who wanted to stay could move inside and a group of us all set up our tents as an indoor camp and everyone hung their gear up to dry as best they were going to, given there was no heating in the building, and we all sat around in groups singing, cracking jokes, drinking whiskey, playing cards against humanity etc until well into the night sunday was a little uncomfortable due to having to wear still-wet kit, but those of us that stayed managed to soldier through until end-ex and i could switch into some dry civvy kit to drive home in.

  34. People can be douchebags, even self scan colleagues at tesco wear them. I guess it could be percieved as unneccessary but it might simply be an insurance requirement for the site or an aid to proving due diligence in case there's an issue at some point.

True. That's why I don't understand Wolverine. They made an hpa engine which shoots 8 bb's out of one barrel and they are gonna put into that John Wick shotgun. It's still burst it doesn't matter what skin they put on it.

  41. It would be interesting to know if those same sites have a ban on semi auto shotguns - in my head at least, just having three barrels sat right next to each other, discharging 3 shots with every pull of the trigger is no different. Certainly the scope for dishing out/receiving pain is the same!

  48. I do / did like a good game in foul weather. A couple of memorable ones were: 1) Falklands themed game with authentic weather. Many players had gone home before lunchtime, parts of the safe zone were blowing away, I was soaked through and covered in mud but had multiple sets of clothes allowing me to change at the break and to change for the drive home with the prospects of soaking in a hot bath when home. (this game also gave me the stories of my broadcasting expletives on box when poking my head into a window, and the husband of a colleague arriving home to find his wife laundering my stinking bin bag of playing clothes) 2) A snowy Christmas game where I thought that I was being clever with a set of thermals. Lovely and toasty for the morning brief, sweaty mess for game one I would typically be fine if I’m enjoying myself in the cold and wet - provided I can look forward to later and I’ve prepared. My body dislikes the heat, and it’s easier to warm up then cool down But I do now have Raynaud’s phenomenon (like Raynaud’s syndrome but I’m special) - this is also just in one finger tip! Raynaud’s plus cold equals pain - so I now don’t like the cold and I don’t like the heat A couple of weeks back I declined the option of a game - early Sunday morning on a miserable day in a standard woods site - a warm lie in won. Improve one of the factors and I may have been up for it

  50. I used the supplied high cap, my own PTS midcap, and also a nuprol mid cap. Same issue regardless. I called them today and they're accepting a return to have the issue fixed, which I'm fine with. Due to the scuffs from having optics mounted they can't refund me, which is fair enough. If I got a refund I'd only end up ordering another one anyway 😂
