First is certainly not the first time I ever attended, but it's the first photo I'm aware of according to Facebook it's from March 2009 from Urban Assault (RIP). Back when Multicam was a rarity, a mayo AR though... some things never change. And yes, I needed a haircut and black boots with Multicam will forever be a bad look. Classic Army M15 CQBR Flyye PC with some custom mag pouches and admin pouch Repro Cryes Oakley SI Gloves Magnum boots (I think) This ones from two weekends ago, not much to say. I don't tend to wear a huge amount of camo nowadays but the mayo ARs are still present and correct. Outside of the addition of the belt and a dangler not much has changed with how I run my kit. 2. How good an optic do you need for slinging plastic out to 50m, when the slightest breath of wind will produce more of a deflection than the cheapest Chinesium red dot? 🤔

  4. My guy... I don't think people are going to pay £600-800 for a custom slide when they can go on raindow8 and buy something like this for a fraction of that. Not even steel slides, or entire steel pistols for that matter, cost what you are asking for.

  7. OK, so 47 years and excessive pies have put me off doing it but after my youngest got hooked, then father /son hobby was born... I genuinely don't have a clue. Lol. I've got a mate who is really into it and I'm learning what I can so I don't look like a complete noob, just a partial one... 🤣 Going to do a few rentals before buying something interesting too. I will be annoying, asking random questions that have been asked before (must search first!). Hope to pull the right ideas from your experiences. Er, "game on" 😳

  9. I've got Vortex sights on both of my pews for the warranty and because they hold their value well enough that I think at most they would have cost £50 each if I came to sell them (Crossfire gen 2 red dot & Crossfire 3-9x50). It is certainly a case of you get what you pay for in the quality but it's definitely a luxury and nowhere near a necessity.

  10. Agreed, and I should hasten to add that I'm not criticising anyone for buying top end stuff. I mean, if we take the airsoft argument to its logical conclusion, there's no reason to buy anything more than a £90 CYMA.

  11. Got a steel G3 or MP5? that's great! but please check your welds before you start fiddling around with the charging handle! My PSG1 had a small, very sharp spike created in the seam near the charging handle, luckily nothing happened, but I can see such spike cutting someone up pretty badly the way your hand slides along the receiver when locking the handle back. Be safe people! A small file and some bluing was all it took to fix the problem.

  16. Agree with the man above, & Tbh the client base for this stuff is limited, at your projected prices it'll be almost non-existant. Plus you need to establish yourself before anyone's likely to buy, that means getting a couple of freebie examples of your work out there in the hands of "respected" (lol) players with a high social media/YouTube profile who will hopefully sing your praises of your products. Good luck with that😏

  19. I run a £25 Feyachi red on a TM GBBR and it never loses zero. Is more accurate than the rifle itself so couldn't agree more with you on that one. And with a lens protector from reddotengineering its protected from the front. Better than the ugly rail attached protectors as it sits over the lens and is barely noticable. But if you have that sort of cash for an optic and don't mind spending it then go ahead but for me I would rather a new pew for that price.

First one in 2017 - friends hidden to protect the innocent 😂 Using a Specna Arms M4 Repro Ciras plate carrier (christ that thing was hot) British Army surplus DPM trousers and an MTP UBAC. Second one earlier this year at the AI500 Citadel event TM MWS (L119A1 work in progress). 22. Ahhh right, yeah it's if one of those then it'll be bang on. My M110 has done 500,000 and still at M110. Could be one of many things buddy, air nozzle is a good place to start, also make sure no clogged vents on the piston head etc. What's the inner barrel length and the cylinder type?

  23. Well, you can, if you want to deflect (badum tsssh) from the question being asked. I'd rather have the cheapest rod dot than any iron sight. Whether it's worth having anything other than the cheapest red dot for airsoft use at airsoft ranges, dunno. Cheap I was raised, and cheap I will remain.

  24. Something worth remembering when spending money on real steel optics - airsoft rails are not always in spec so the real steel optics may just not grip properly so holding zero may be a bit pot luck regardless of how expensive your optics are!

  25. Oh, wow, remember his 6.44mm "full thrust" system. At least he's still selling BBs for it, in any weight you want, as long as you want 0.58g bio or 0.62g non-bio.

  26. lmao this is airsoft. you dont need anything, its all superficial i personally use real steel optics (inc vortex) for the quality, warranty, and value retention but regardless of anything it's a good optic. my bad, assumed it was rhetorical. iirc the UH-1 is superior to older eotechs and on par with the EXPS 3.0. i dont think £800 for the uh-1 is justifiable though

  29. Meh. I don't like the colouring/pattern on the actual photos. And I don't like the idea of a sole-source manufacturer of a Camo's gear. It seems like it's Novritsch or nothing if you want a matching chest rig, plate carrier, pouches etc further down the line. At least Multicam (in it's various guises and 'similar-but-not' knock-offs), Pencott, ATACs et al gives you options from different kit manufacturers.

  32. Probably about £80 - £!50. Sadly not many people want WW these days.

  33. as long as it's not so bad that you're damaging it (ie bending) when fitting, then it can be ok. the key is that the hop unit is up tight against the gearbox, typically for an m4 variant this is done either with a spring or series of o-rings around the inner barrel to actively push it back against the gearbox, this has the added benefit of reducing wobble between the upper/lower. on other designs, the hop unit is sometimes bolted to the gearbox solidly to prevent movement. so as long as you don't have the hop unit sitting too far forward on assembly (ie that there's a gap between it and the gearbox) then it being tight shouldn't be an issue.
    1 point
  34. Personally I wouldn’t worry about how tight the hop unit fits Its something that you would want a snug fit with anyway to avoid movement

    Favouritism

We have a lot of regulars on our site, first name terms, hanging around to help pack up at the end of day, good banter etc. All of whom get a regular sneaky test-shot to keep them in check , we show no favouritism when we are out in the playing fields. It would kill the growth of the site. Players who were regulars, who didn’t like it, soon fekked off! ”invited to play elsewhere” I believe is the appropriate term we had just over 90 players on sunday Two who ignored their second test-shot (after a warning of ignoring the first) of the day were awarded a 4 week ban. If they do come back and cheat again it’s a permanent ban for them. (these were new to us rental players) This obviously got around that we take no prisoners when it comes to cheating, not a bad whisper to get around the rest of the players on site. Ruins it for everyone else. And we also split up equally the rental players , new walk-ons , and experienced players to give a nice spread of ability. Most of our regulars have no quibble when it comes to swapping sides to even things up if they can see it’s going to balance things out ability wise, but it also gives them a bit of a challenge to help turn the tide of a constantly losing side. Fresh Marshals who play but aren’t in a “Team” have also helped out a lot. And we have steadily seen our numbers increase from a regular 30 ish last year to now 80+ every fortnight Steadily bringing in players from further afield

  36. Exactly; that is what I find hard to understand. "Normal" players are supposed to wear their armband where it is clearly visible, whereas, in many cases, it is ok to conceal it once you start dressing as a shrubbery.
