  1. Just got home from Skirmish Wycombe. I've been twice before, once good once a bit meh. Today was bloody brilliant. I went alone, but everyone was in good form and having a great laugh, lots of great teamwork and more importantly everyone was calling their hits. There were a few "he didn't call his hit", but we all know that sometimes people think they hit but didn't, or the target genuinely didn't feel it. Marshalls were good, weather was good, overall a bloody great day. My KWA TK45 performed beautifully, her first time on the field. I managed to lose my pistol mag, but a marshal found it, thankfully. It's only 10/15 minutes drive from my house, so I'll be going again. Hopefully that one not so good day I had there was an anomaly, though I know the site gets some iffy reviews.

  7. I reckon there's enough crossover for you lot to be interested in the festival I help organise. Road to Ruin was the UK's first, and still the largest, Post Apocalyptic themed event, and we're back this July A music festival based around Post Apocalyptic themed vehicles. We have the UK's largest (And possibly in the world) Post Apocalyptic themed legal road run. We are now in our 4th year (Technically 6th, but Covid cancelled the last two festivals). You can see highlights from previous years, including the road run on our youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCorjudMSS5DDWqLjhnz3z9Q Photos of some of our models, vehicles, and event photos on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/roadtoruinofficialuk/ And of course, our facebook: https://www.facebook.com/roadtoruin2017 Tickets available through our website: https://www.road2ruin.co/

  8. Went here for the third time today. Have had one good day here, and one BLEH! The bleh day was marred by a lot of people not taking their hits. Today I was going alone, last minute, and it's 15 minutes from my front door, so what the hell. Great day, everyone called their shots and great teamwork. So it's a bit hit and miss this site.

  15. Yup cut on the yellow crosses. Yellow tag wire can be discarded. Deans directly to the motor with some wire, I often just solder directly to the motor with that gearbox as the cage can be removed with the wires on. Purple to the signal wire.

  17. 1. Remove signal wire. 2. Move front trigger wire back to original position. 3. Cut the + and - wires as per this diagram. 4. make a decision - You can go with the double signal wire. Solder it to the green area wire tags. Preferred method. Polarity doesn't matter as this circuit is now isolated from the mains. The sensor wire can go any way into the Merf. 4.b. Go with a single wire as per the last diagram I posted above - note you will have to work out how to feed the + side of the trigger. Polarity is important. The feed from the + is essential and the sensor wire has an orientation on the Merf. 5. Connect the deans directly to the motor.

  20. thank you everyone for all your comments, and sorry i havent replied sooner. yeah, i spoke to someone else about this subject and they agree, with collar badges in ww1 being mainly worn by officers yeah, i figured that was the case, but im going to have to carry both simply due to the fact the lee enfield isnt suitable for more cqb areas at the sites i play at.. plus if and when i upgrade it, it will be over the FPS and joule limits, so i will need a sidearm. probably going to go with a later war uniform, probably 1917 ok, so probably not going to be applicable to the uniform im putting together sounds about right for the army XD will give them a look, though i do personally hate having to use facebook. and good call re: the stitch counters i did browse amazon and found some "men at arms" books from Osprey, should have them this week and will see if they shine anymore light on the subject i havent looked at aliexpress, but i have heard some horror stories relating to them, so im a bit dubious about using them

  22. Battleaxe powered drum mags from £26+ at Patrol Base. Pretty good given they were around the £60 mark last time I looked. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/battleaxe-ar36-electric-sound-control-drum-magazine The billy bonus is that Project Airsoft, that make adapted versions, sell the adaptor separately. I was going to buy their complete mag for my lad's UMP for £65 but it's cheaper to buy a complete G36 drum and the adapter (£56) https://projectairsoft.co.uk/collections/drum-magazines/products/ump-drum-magazine?variant=41985759772896

  27. To give myself a few more options on game day, and not wanting to go all out on Crye gear (yet!) I ordered a couple of sets of Emerson G3 copies from good old Ali Express. Along with bog standard multicam, I've gone for multicam tropic and honest to goodness woodland. Added a new woodland boonie as well. Also added a C2R IFAK to my shooters belt, and, to show the MWS a little love, some Gun Sav. It is almost Valentine's Day so some lube seemed appropriate.

  30. Has obsessively googling about Airsoft rifles since Christmas done me any good? Since then I've bored the crap out of my other half talking about it AEG's with my head in my phone. She has been doing a lot of huffing and looking at the ceiling. Bless her... Is this normal? Let me know if I got anything wrong but I think if I read this when I first got interested it would of helped loads. I played a few games CQB and looking forward to getting out into woods once the weather improves. So I started googling Airsoft rifles to learn what is good, bad and ugly. From what I can tell as long as you are between 300 and 350 FPS and your rof is about 15 or above then you will match most reasonable rifles for close to medium range. Getting consistent grouping doesn't seem that important in CQB. Clearly becomes more important once you get get outside with a lot more range. I'll come back to this in a bit. Then comes your bits and bobs, torches, sights grip etc. Things to make your life a little easier. Then upgrades. Longer tighter bores. Differing types of bucking, hop-up, gear boxes, motors, bateries. Seams like a lot more reinforced plastic is being used on newer guns to keep weight and cost down. The rental guns I've played with where all metal and had to put up with a bit of abuse which I liked. Although slower ROF and FPS than the others with there own gear. My previous experience with rifles was as a kid in the ATC using Enfield .303's and SLR 7.62's and a few others, Solid rifles. Getting a good grouping at 300 to 500 yards with iron sights. So when I looked at a couple of sub £150 Airsoft rifles with metal and plastic bodies and they where all a little bit...well...wobbly...cheap. I could t see them being that accurate at range. Couldn't see them bouncing that well either... I could see myself growing out of a cheap one very quickly. So what do you need for your new RIF as a newbie to Airsoft? In my experience don't spend a tonne of money on something you haven't researched, actually seen and held. And don't buy the first thing you see... A life lesson right there. Lol. Do you want to spend £300 on a Rif to find the same one elsewhere for £150. Or find out that you just don't like the feel of it. I considered getting an AUG as it's very compact. But when I got my hands on one I just didn't like it... Very ligh, felt cheap, awkward to hold... That's just my opinion. Many people love them. So what does it need to be at a minimum? FPS between 300 and 350 you want others to feel they have been hit. ROF 15 rounds per second or above. Not that you would fire that fast on a semi auto site but that ROF gives you responsiveness. You want that BB on target asap. Strong so a metal body. But be open to reinforced plastic if it feels solid. Sturdy so it bounces well when dropped and can take a bit of abuse. Iron sights as you can upgrade later. They have to be solid though and not move about as I'd seen on RIF's where the outer barrel could twist with very little force. Hold a reasonable about of bb's high cap 200-450. The ones you have to wind up. You will waste loads of bb's while panicking and shooting wildly out of fear. Later on upgrade to mid cap of about 120bb's where you don't have to wind the magazine. Be electric. Simple and will do the job. Don't have to keep gassing your gun or buy all that high pressure air gear... Inner barrel no less than 200mm. Unless running a very compact RIF for CQB. Turns out putting a longer barrel on can speed up FPS but effects accuracy, reduce range and can actually slow down the FPS. You have to start upgrading the hop-up, pistons to get more air into the barrel, then look at gearbox, motor... I'll stop there. That's for well later when good enough to actually notice the improvements... But definitely have in mind that there is a good chance you will grow out of your first RIF and want to start upgrading it. Seems to me many standard parts that are easily interchange. Seams that an easy way to get more accuracy is spend some attention on the bucking and slightly heavier bb's. This all seams to be like alchamy and magic to me at the moment though... And we are not finished there. I was clearly interested in CQB as I had a couple of games. But had to consider rails to add torches, sights, scopes, handles, lasers, launches.... There seams to be a hell of a lot to take in, and if you are like me, you will look at the cheaper options, £150, then see what's good and your budget goes up a bit, but then that one doesn't have this. Then your budget goes up a bit more. It wasn't long before I realised that if I wanted a good rifle I was going to have to pay at least £250 just for the rifle then I'd need a case, battery, charger, additional magazines, red dot sight, etc etc. I got up to about £600 then realised if I wanted good for a reasonable budget, as a newbie to Airsoft, I was going to have to go used... So I did. And it was the best decision I made... Hope you got something out of this and I'll post a photo of what I ended up with next time. 😁 Pew Pew for now...

    New Game Scenarios

I have you measured up Rogerborg. You are so insignificant in your real life, you TRY to be a dominating force online. The trouble with that is that you have an online footprint. Your online footprint belongs to a who? I actively mask my OFP, you simply don't have one. Next time you think being a "keyboard warrior" is a good idea and saying "don't PM, we're not friends" consider this. YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS. Good day, good night, good evening and fuck off.

    Ak74u but which one?

The Cyma CM045 I love mine to bits. It's realy well made. Here it is with mismatched wooden grips. Thanks for the opportunity to show her 🙂 Snappy trigger response in semi making it decent for CQB with only a 7.4v lipo. I've just added a mosfet to mine and on an 11.1v lipo and no other mods it's a monster on auto as well as semi.

  40. Hello all you fine lads and ladies. (If I may be so self indulgent to put this message here and call my humble site reviews "News".) Last week was my 4th anniversary starting Airsoft. 6 months after that I started doing the site reviews. It's been a wild ride as much as one can be just writing walls of indecipherable text with questionable grammar. I have had some good times visiting so many different sites. I believe I have now visited 42 sites in the South East (Only one of which I haven't yet posted a review on as I would like to revisit). I have received many thanks for the reviews and plaudits on the forum as well as direct criticisms in the form of PM's and Emails from site regulars and owners. I have been told on multiple occasions how aware sites are about the reviews and are all quaking in their boots for when I make my visit ;). I have been invited to new sites multiple times for my feedback on how to improve the gaming experience. I was also approached by a large online Airsoft news site to write reviews for them on the regular (Sadly they never got back to me after I said I would love to write for them, but only on the proviso that I could still post them on AFUK and that I wouldn't let anyone edit or tone down my honest opinions). So you are probably wondering why I am making this post! It's time to bring the reviews to a close... Sort of. As fun as it is visiting lots of different sites, @Albiscuit and myself will start prioritising revisiting sites that we have loved to have some good game days under our belt. Whilst I am not in it for the fame, women or backhanders, I have seen the readership, views and feedback getting less and less prevalent over time. Due to that I am finding it harder to start typing out walls of texts until I get so bored I have to force myself to do it! There are also frankly very few sites left to visit that you can say are actually in the South East. Compound that with the fact I don't drive, many of the ones left are relatively inaccessible to me without a lift. Basically, I am a scrub and I want to start going to a small number of sites more regularly, get good at layouts and get to know some regulars and maybe join a loose set of players in a "Team" or something equally cringe. I will also be taking some time out down in Devon and Cornwall for personal reasons starting from August ending in October. I may play a couple of times down there as well. But it's not set in stone... This doesn't mean there wont be anymore new reviews (Watch out for ZMart, Incursion tunnels and Tower Airsoft coming up) but I will be writing them sporadically, to the point I may just stop. I really appreciate all of the support you guys have given me, even though many of you don't live in the SE! Special thanks goes to my initial Battlebuddy who helped me get to places and @Albiscuitpicking up where he left off. Without you I would never of got to see so many of these places! If there are any sites you haven't seen a review of and would like me or someone else to review at some point please comment. Below are a list of sites that are still yet to be visited. ZMart Incursion Tunnels South Coast CQB Finmere Airsoft Special OPs Airsoft Apocalypse Paintball centre RIFT Com 2/3 Skirmish Wycombe Quex Airsoft Mayhem South East Canterbury and Longfield Wonky Donkey Badlands Airsoft UCAP Portsmouth Worthing Airsoft Battle Sector X DTW Airsoft Raw War Gunman Camp Alpha Campaign Airsoft Camouflage Airsoft Cheers all!

    THE TM MWS thread

Well, many days after starting, I've finally finished all 200 pages. Apart from figuring out that I really need to do more with my spare time, here are my main take homes from the thread: The MWS in all its iterations is, as Snoop may say, the shiznit The MK18 version looks ace but the design is mental The third party support for the platform is huge @AlphaBearhates Nuprol The one constant upgrade that almost everyone agrees on as being performance enhancing and therefore an essential purchase, is the SixG brass nub Whenever retailers get any MWS's or TM original parts in stock (especially mags), they disappear rapidly, so act fast Angry Gun are shit, but they're not, sort of HAO Industries kits are incredible looking (416 and L119A2 🤤) but are jaw-droppingly expensive @AlphaBearreally hates Nuprol Fire Support provide excellent service to the needy and cash-rich MWS brethren Depending on barrel length, ammo weight, nub type, gas type, ambient conditions, lunar alignment and inside leg measurement, FPS ranges from 200 - 1,400 fps The green gas mag mod is not necessarily necessary @AlphaBearfrigging hates Nuprol Become familiar with Impulse101 and other Japanese sites and order well in advance of needing spare TM parts Nozzles, nozzle springs, TM hop rubbers and a decent armourer's wrench should be in everyone's tool/spares box This thread is an absolute goldmine of people willing to share information, admire other people's builds and welcoming other people in joining the growing number of MWS owners @AlphaBearabsolutely, positively hates Nuprol Thanks everyone. Looking forward to receiving the stock alert email telling me it's time to sell a kidney (or kid) as my MWS journey is about to begin.
