  1. Now you just have to 'wear' it 😉

  2. A big hello to everyone on here ,I have been involved with guns of all types for almost 70 years and given it up due to age. I shoot copies (i don't class them as replicas) of airguns in my indoor range now both BB and pellet, recently i saw on the web an AK 47 and a Thompson 1928, they only had airsoft versions, semi and full auto so i am now smitten. These i shoot outdoors with an MP 40 Co2 BB full and semi auto. The electric ones are like rocket science to me and i am sure i will be needing some advice in the future. Now what to get next? A happy and healthy new year to you all. Regards, Makis

  5. Fun fact: They were actually brown but the lighting in the film made them look green 🤔 (I still prefer the green as that's what they 'looked' like)

  6. I’ve got one TM recoil AK and 5 Cyma AK’s(don’t judge me it’s an addiction) and a spattering of other makes but bang for your buck I honestly believe you won’t get a better AK platform for the price , wether plastic bodied or metal . As to the ‘plastic V metal’ debate to be fair there’s not many brands on the market that’ll hold up to even a quarter of the abuse a real gun will take so does it really matter if it’s polymer of metal ? 👍

  8. Just got my toystar daewoo k2c1 kit and put it together. Having owned the older classic version they have really upped their production quality. I was told this one is glass fibre polymer rather than straight plastic like the older one. Flash hider is getting painted tomorrow.

  9. Had this a few years now. No idea of the economy as it's a work vehicle, so just filled up and forgotten. Pretty good for airsoft as the glass is bulletproof and it's 4x4. Base vehicle is a Merc. I've been overseas in at a fair bit, but usually I just use it for popping down to the shops for a few bottles of red and some wafers. It's really comfy tbh.

  10. Hello and welcome. And yes, if you're enjoying airsoft replicas responsibly (wow, an indoor range!) then you'll be very welcome here. It's curious how we view these things so differently. I find the mechanical internals of electric guns very comprehensible, but how the gas gets from a magazine to the barrel of a gas/CO2 gun is a complete mystery to me.

  13. I went for practicality over posability and binned off the charging handle. No more HK slap, but a fair bit more room in the tube. Also, I rear wired mine, as I couldn't be doing with all that fiddling around at the front. There's room to run wires behind the gearbox up to the tube. Deans connector, of course. With all of that done, I can actually get a 116mm x 17mm x 13mm 7.4V lipo in there with a small mosfet as well.

  15. Those are 30-32mm. Rostok is after 30A in 20mm which are much harder to find, to the point where I gave up and settled on 20A. Mind you, I've binned off all my fuses now anyway, it's just another point of failure.

  17. Maybe a silly idea, but is your hold consistent? I hold my M4 around the magwell, I daresay that the crap barrel support would shift poi upwards if I gripped the barrel. Could that account for any vertical shift? Might be something to look at before pulling the thing around again.

  18. I'd take a gander at some of the threads on DE M4s perhaps. The CM16 is a doddle to upgrade mind. High torque motor £25 from Aliexpress, ZCI barrel at less than £20, Maple Leaf hop rubber and knock off Omega nub £10-12, ZCI hop unit £10 and you have a gun as good as any. Take you an hours easy fiddling with YouTube guides. Only tools required are a pencil or similar to push a pin free to open it up. Easy as picking your nose. Never get your money back if you sell, but less than a quarter of your budget.

Used ecowire from AK2M4 and some WS deans from KOA in the past. Got a good bit one time for foreseeable projects. https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/alphawire-2-metre-pack-16awg?search=wire https://www.kingdomofairsoft.com/product-page/genuine-deans-ultra-wire

  20. I have two. The fixed stock is a loan out/spare, the underfolder is one of my favourite rifs. It's well used and a little bit bent here and there due to falling over a few times (including full pelt into a bloody tree). I would have cried if one my 'nice' guns were in this state, but bar the hop rubber It's 100% factory. The fixed stock is 100% factory and still in excellent nick after being dropped and drowned by various school/college/cadet mates of my lads. Amazing value for money. Lightweight pressed bean tin body if memory serves. I can check when I get home if you like. You may have to remind me via pm mind.

  21. Pfft... M4, Electric, 250-300 quid... take your pick at the myriad of offerings out there. Just a suggestion, but if you fancy something a bit different, there's some other designs that use M4 mags. Tavor, SA80, F2000, etc.

  22. there is not really levelling up in airsoft pretty much all guns perform roughly the same out the the box. more money will get you nicer parts more features but you are not going to see amazing leaps in performance. what do you actually want? another Armalite? personally for that money TM P90, TM AUG High Cycle, 2d hand TM G36 recoil, CYMA M14 (well under budget you could get multiple guns).

  23. You gotta pick one of the two man. I have an E2 that I bring up at every opportunity. Been bone stock for bloody years and it just works, and works.. and works. Any weather, zero maintenance, shoots straight and far, an absolute no brainer go-to that I never ever have to worry about because when I pull the trigger it goes pop; frankly an awesome primary in close CQB. Personally I'd strongly recommend a different 226 if you want metal so you always have this dependable workhorse at your side, I'll bet any money you will massively appreciate having it in your collection always ready to go when others might let you down (depending what else you have obviously).

  24. Impulse purchase as I had a gift voucher to use. First TM pistol. Not loving the plastic, but it's all about performance at the end of the day. Only a back up too, so may go for the Guarder metal kit in time.

  25. This one? https://www.umarex.com/products/airsoft/co2/2.6466.html Have you cleaned the barrel? On BB weight, it depends on the hop, if any. It's not mentioned in the manual, but... is that a hop unit? Is it adjustable with that screw marked 1-37? The Umarex page implies so: "the shoot-up is also adjustable." If so, have you adjusted it to your BB weight? I'd also apply silicone lube to any rubber parts to try and keep the seal consistent. Aside, given that it claims up to 2 Joules (!) I'd hope that you're using it for target shooting rather than close-quarters airsoft skirmishing. My DMR only puts out 1.8J, with a 20-30m minimum engagement distance.

  26. redditsave.com_how_does_this_sound_after_my_first_shim_job_and-jdptn9tsvv881.mp4 So despite all the advice given to me I did it amd opened up my gun the sa-07 edge and I'm glad I did it had bit of aluminium flakes all over the place the o-ring on the pistol was tearing and the greese job left a lot to be desired. I polished cleaned replaced the gears with ZCI advanced 16:1 replaced the bearings with jcaged 8mm and shimmed and greesed it and fitted a ZCI high torque motor now to me it sounds perfect but this is my first gun so what do you guys think? Also it now double fires bit I this is the result of overspib caused by the gear changed a 11.1v lipo sk now need some active breaking

  28. Posted in another thread.. but here you go... Try this on for size... (apologies for the rubbish shop it's at, stock is tricky to find at the moment) https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/double-eagle-m908a-ar15-rifle-with-falcon-system-in-black.html It's out of stock at Patrolbase but the page is easier to read... https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/double-eagle-m908a-fire-control-system-edition Other variations in stock / receiver / length / rail system are available. Once you drop down to the 904's I think they're all polymer receiver but some might still have metal handguards Quite a few happy DE owners on this forum!

  29. I only had one pop (before I deleted them) and that was a 20A mini, after a V3 lockup where I did what everyone will do the first time it happens: held the trigger and hoped. I'd reckon 20A is sufficient to protect against user error in a reasonable AEG, and once you've learned to not just keep fingerblasting long after it's clear that you're not going to get a happy ending, it's only there to protect against a full short. My plan for that is to hurl it away then strip the corpse for parts.

    Quality wire?

The 16awg and being 2mm OD is basically what I needed, because it was impossible to not have my pinion gear shred my wires - wiring the maxx hopup tracer unit into it just took up too much space, I ended up taking a dremel to my retroarms GB and cutting some space: The wiring ended up being a total mess because I was trying to save what little EcoWire I had left, I've since chopped the titan down to short wires to re-do it. But basically I threaded the positive wire from the titan around the outside of the GB so it doesn't have to cross the gap under the pinion. I had to do this, because you need to wire the tracer into the battery wires before the trigger, and if you route them outside of the GB, one of them will stop the grip from fitting properly against the GB, if you try to fit them all inside, there just isn't enough room under the 'lip' below the pinion gear, which results in shredded wire sheathing and shorts.

  32. As the man above says, why not get a different platform that takes the m4 mags you already own, that way you've got something that feels "new" & different, & you've always got a compatible backup should either of them fail mid game, makes a lot of sense.

    OBNO - New member

Thanks for the warm response all. I've only really been involved in car related forums before and got hacked off with the attitude. Anyhow, feel I've found a cool form. So this is my first custom job. Fully stripped. Sanded, all touching metal and polished. Sprib guide and housing polished and off coarse a new sparkly paint job featuring my god "Lord OBNO" icon fully sealed under lacquer and pretty damn pleased. Got another on the way that will get the full internal fettling mechanically also as I've now learnt about that now. Next one (G&G CM16 Wildhog 13.5) already started and stripped the outer casing today. Don't wanna rush the disassembly so that can wait and I haven't got the shims yet. Just ran the new metal bits through a cleaning process ready to be polished. The amount if shite that came off the new gears was amazing. My approach (mechanically) is that the smoother the surface the better so every metallic object m that comes off easily (not down to tiny screws spring etc) will get the same treatment and the OBNO emblem somewhere internally that won't wear and abit of lacquer. Total rebuild (Inc M130 spring, high torque motor, short toothed by 2 possibly 3), ZCI M4/M16 CNC Rotary Hop metal, upgraded air nozzle, upgraded hop (black), upgraded piston spring guide (metal). Rebuild and custom camo pait job with the OBNO emblem on the receiver. This small area will be lacquered but the rest left naturally wear. Am loving this

  36. is it a RS (or at least, an RS-intended repro)? as if so then there is an element that the zeroing range on RS optics is a lot less than you'd typically see in airsoft due to the expected level of base precision. doesn't mean there isn't droop, just that it might not just be that.

always kinda felt that way too, although i still want a nagant. sadly the only one on the market seems to be the triple whammy of not particularly shiny externals, unobtanium, and you have got to be joking fps........

  38. indeed it is. sounds like maybe with the barrel being off horizonal it might also have been off in the vertical, which ended up causing rubbing on the nozzle, so tightening the hop unit down has helped pull it back into alignmens. surprised that only really manifested in auto though.

  41. Yeah. I had heat a knife and alter the position of the mag indent to get these to work… see pic also check out @Rogerborgtech post which is kind of relevant to your issues

  42. Sweet. Glad you sorted it. As far a barrel goes, do you have an outer barrel that you can swap out to see if it makes a difference? Also…. You could try a G&p mag release, these have more material on the upper of the tab which, if you do have a gap between the base of the hop and the magazine, will pull the mag higher…pic is of me fitting one to an ics but doing the opposite ie removing material…

  45. My primary problem with how this has been handled is the benign lie for the greater good. Do we all recall when we were advised by the State broadcaster against wearing face masks because "the virus isn't floating around in the air"[*]? This came as a surprise to anyone reading contemporaneous studies clearly warning about airborne transmission - that's when I invested in respirators. Then it became tacitly acknowledged that the initial no-mask message from the WHO, and loyally echoed by UK government and media - but not by the US CDC and NIH - was intended to preserve respirators and medical grade surgical masks for frontline health workers. Right at that point, I lost trust in the (collective) State, because it showed no trust in us. We could have been told the honest truth, but they chose a different way, of "nudging" us into the desired behaviour. When the advice changed, and later became mask mandates, it wasn't that the science changed, it was simply a case of timing the message to keep supply and demand balanced. [*] WHO, BBC: March 2020 no masks, "the virus isn't floating around in the air". NIH: April 2020 airborne transmission reported, masks recommended (and see the earlier reports cited there) CDC: April 2020 masks recommended, but not ones intended for medical use (see box 1). WHO, BBC: July 2020 maybe we should rethink masks After that, why trust anything that you're being told by any particular talking head on your Telescreen? There's a difference between being informed, and being instructed.

    Revolvers

The umarex m29 is a fairly new model other 2 are serviceable. No Airsoft revolver keeps up with a lot of pistols but they are fun. Always shoot better used single action where possible. I've had a few Tanakas that shoot nice but even they can be iffy especially over time and use.
