  1. Now you just have to 'wear' it 😉

  2. A big hello to everyone on here ,I have been involved with guns of all types for almost 70 years and given it up due to age. I shoot copies (i don't class them as replicas) of airguns in my indoor range now both BB and pellet, recently i saw on the web an AK 47 and a Thompson 1928, they only had airsoft versions, semi and full auto so i am now smitten. These i shoot outdoors with an MP 40 Co2 BB full and semi auto. The electric ones are like rocket science to me and i am sure i will be needing some advice in the future. Now what to get next? A happy and healthy new year to you all. Regards, Makis

  4. Bodge? That's standard servicing procedure on anything made in Longbridge. Also, now I'm miffed that I resisted the strong temptation to suggest that.

  5. Fun fact: They were actually brown but the lighting in the film made them look green 🤔 (I still prefer the green as that's what they 'looked' like)

  6. I’ve got one TM recoil AK and 5 Cyma AK’s(don’t judge me it’s an addiction) and a spattering of other makes but bang for your buck I honestly believe you won’t get a better AK platform for the price , wether plastic bodied or metal . As to the ‘plastic V metal’ debate to be fair there’s not many brands on the market that’ll hold up to even a quarter of the abuse a real gun will take so does it really matter if it’s polymer of metal ? 👍

  8. Just got my toystar daewoo k2c1 kit and put it together. Having owned the older classic version they have really upped their production quality. I was told this one is glass fibre polymer rather than straight plastic like the older one. Flash hider is getting painted tomorrow.

  9. Had this a few years now. No idea of the economy as it's a work vehicle, so just filled up and forgotten. Pretty good for airsoft as the glass is bulletproof and it's 4x4. Base vehicle is a Merc. I've been overseas in at a fair bit, but usually I just use it for popping down to the shops for a few bottles of red and some wafers. It's really comfy tbh.

  10. Hello and welcome. And yes, if you're enjoying airsoft replicas responsibly (wow, an indoor range!) then you'll be very welcome here. It's curious how we view these things so differently. I find the mechanical internals of electric guns very comprehensible, but how the gas gets from a magazine to the barrel of a gas/CO2 gun is a complete mystery to me.

  13. I went for practicality over posability and binned off the charging handle. No more HK slap, but a fair bit more room in the tube. Also, I rear wired mine, as I couldn't be doing with all that fiddling around at the front. There's room to run wires behind the gearbox up to the tube. Deans connector, of course. With all of that done, I can actually get a 116mm x 17mm x 13mm 7.4V lipo in there with a small mosfet as well.

  15. Those are 30-32mm. Rostok is after 30A in 20mm which are much harder to find, to the point where I gave up and settled on 20A. Mind you, I've binned off all my fuses now anyway, it's just another point of failure.

  17. Maybe a silly idea, but is your hold consistent? I hold my M4 around the magwell, I daresay that the crap barrel support would shift poi upwards if I gripped the barrel. Could that account for any vertical shift? Might be something to look at before pulling the thing around again.

  18. I'd take a gander at some of the threads on DE M4s perhaps. The CM16 is a doddle to upgrade mind. High torque motor £25 from Aliexpress, ZCI barrel at less than £20, Maple Leaf hop rubber and knock off Omega nub £10-12, ZCI hop unit £10 and you have a gun as good as any. Take you an hours easy fiddling with YouTube guides. Only tools required are a pencil or similar to push a pin free to open it up. Easy as picking your nose. Never get your money back if you sell, but less than a quarter of your budget.

  20. I have two. The fixed stock is a loan out/spare, the underfolder is one of my favourite rifs. It's well used and a little bit bent here and there due to falling over a few times (including full pelt into a bloody tree). I would have cried if one my 'nice' guns were in this state, but bar the hop rubber It's 100% factory. The fixed stock is 100% factory and still in excellent nick after being dropped and drowned by various school/college/cadet mates of my lads. Amazing value for money. Lightweight pressed bean tin body if memory serves. I can check when I get home if you like. You may have to remind me via pm mind.

  21. Pfft... M4, Electric, 250-300 quid... take your pick at the myriad of offerings out there. Just a suggestion, but if you fancy something a bit different, there's some other designs that use M4 mags. Tavor, SA80, F2000, etc.

  22. there is not really levelling up in airsoft pretty much all guns perform roughly the same out the the box. more money will get you nicer parts more features but you are not going to see amazing leaps in performance. what do you actually want? another Armalite? personally for that money TM P90, TM AUG High Cycle, 2d hand TM G36 recoil, CYMA M14 (well under budget you could get multiple guns).
    2 points
  23. You gotta pick one of the two man. I have an E2 that I bring up at every opportunity. Been bone stock for bloody years and it just works, and works.. and works. Any weather, zero maintenance, shoots straight and far, an absolute no brainer go-to that I never ever have to worry about because when I pull the trigger it goes pop; frankly an awesome primary in close CQB. Personally I'd strongly recommend a different 226 if you want metal so you always have this dependable workhorse at your side, I'll bet any money you will massively appreciate having it in your collection always ready to go when others might let you down (depending what else you have obviously).

  24. Impulse purchase as I had a gift voucher to use. First TM pistol. Not loving the plastic, but it's all about performance at the end of the day. Only a back up too, so may go for the Guarder metal kit in time.

  25. This one? https://www.umarex.com/products/airsoft/co2/2.6466.html Have you cleaned the barrel? On BB weight, it depends on the hop, if any. It's not mentioned in the manual, but... is that a hop unit? Is it adjustable with that screw marked 1-37? The Umarex page implies so: "the shoot-up is also adjustable." If so, have you adjusted it to your BB weight? I'd also apply silicone lube to any rubber parts to try and keep the seal consistent. Aside, given that it claims up to 2 Joules (!) I'd hope that you're using it for target shooting rather than close-quarters airsoft skirmishing. My DMR only puts out 1.8J, with a 20-30m minimum engagement distance.

  26. Yup, an o-ring nozzle and replacing the stock [clarification] piston o-ring resulted in a rock solid air seal on my CM.516. A bit of silicone grease and I was seeing a had-to-check-it-twice 1.3J out of an M100 spring and a ZCI 229mm barrel. Air seal is king, I had to drop to an M90 and even then it's nudging 1.14J.

  28. 40-50m? I'll be amazed if you can get any kind of reasonable accuracy at that range... Be aware your velocity will drop with heavier pellets. 310 on .2s seems average and I wouldn't worry about that. When you day the gun is "struggling" what do you mean, is the cycling laboured, crap range, not shooting straight...? Out of interest what battery are you using?

  29. Personally, I wouldn't get another AR-15 style rifle as I like variety (yes, yes, I know I'm a rampant hypocrite with 2x VSRs and an m700, 2x M14s and 2x mk23s). I'd get a Cyma AKM instead, as it'll allow you to expand into a wider variety of loadouts, whether it's RUSFOR or a typical "bad guy" loadout; plus, if you decide to go to milsim or filmsim events they may have weapon requirements, so having a variety of rifles gives you options for what type of games you want to try out and go for. You can get a metal/real wood Cyma AK for £200 and it'll shoot pretty nicely out of the box. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/cyma-cm-048m-ak47-airsoft-real-wood-aeg Once I have that as a backup, I'd upgrade whichever I liked more and keep the other one as a backup (well, I'd upgrade both of them because I like to live dangerously and have been teching my own guns for about a decade). As has been said earlier in the thread, you can get a ZCI barrel for about £20 and then a maple leaf macaron and omega nub for another £15. £35 will have your gun firing really nicely and barrel/hop up modifications are super easy to do; it's only when you open up the gearbox do things get more complex, but most guns these days come at about 1J out of the box in the UK, which is all you need. Yes, there are more modifications you can do to an AEG, but a simple barrel/hop up change will see the most gains for the cheapest investment and easiest installation. Take my words with a pinch of salt though, as I like my GBBRs and HPA/spring snipers. Not a massive fan of AEGs.

  30. No judgement here, airsoft RIFs are like guitars, motorbikes or screwdrivers, you can never have too many... I'm honestly pretty nonplussed by metal bodies. Yes, it's more realistic, but I'm not looking for realism. For me, practicality is key, and plastic is lighter and cheaper so it wins the day. Just my preference. My UAR is essentially internally an AK wrapped up in a 25th century casing... or as I like to think of it, it's a Lada underneath a Pelican Dropship. I just fancy an AK as it's something a bit different/foreign to appeal to my inner Commie, and a massive capacity magazine. Plus I've tried a CYMA AK and they are excellent shooters. Also on the want list are an XR5 and a Deagle of some sort however waiting on UKARA coning through plus depends on whatevers in stock so no rush...

    Cm16 lmg upgrades?

Clean the barrel go to the range with a BBs of varying find which gives the best range. If you have done that already what range are you getting Also range/ accuracy isn't really the point of an LMG they are meant to suppress to allow your team mates to get the kills.

  33. What weight of BB are you using? The standard rif will hop .25 and .28 OK. What makes you think that you need more range?

Heavy ammo will help. Airsoft revolvers are usually more accurate single action too due to the length of the trigger pull and fractional inconsistencies in cylinder positioning/timing when used double action. Trick is to epoxy up the hole in the back of the shell and drill a smaller hole.

  38. Very true. Just ran it through the chrono. 240-250 fps at approx .8j on .28s and green gas. Very surprised at the recoil for a plastic pistol. Looking forward to getting it out on the range. Will definitely be keeping everything stock for now...and probably always will tbh. Do you run green gas or 144a?

  39. Totally behind @TheFull9 on this one, I’ve got an E2 which is my back up pistol and hasn’t failed me once. I only use my Glock 19 more as I prefer the feel of it. I find the E2 actually has a much stronger kick than other pistols I’ve used, and with plenty of range and accuracy to boot.

it will help a bit. However the shell loaded style revolvers just aren't very good the design does not lend its self to range or accuracy and they are more a gimmick than a useful airsoft gun. Saying that i really want one congrats on getting one they are out of stock every where.

  41. Great little bits of kit, come in real handy for testing efficiency of the motors under different setups. I've also got a tach meter for measuring the RPM and a little heat sensor. Been running tests the past few weeks on the new 22TPA and 28TPA XT motors @Rogerborg Speaking to Jakub last week and he's still waiting on the chips to arrive for the Perun basic 😞

Did some modifying over the Christmas break. Added a weathered GHK akm wood kit bought off a member on these forums, to my E&L AKM and also added a side rail optic mount to my 7.62X39mm LCT RPK to make it somewhat resemble a RPKN

  44. Hi @TheFriendlyBro Yeah as said by Nick G have a go yourself. Set some sort of work surface up,have some good lighting and a few screwdrivers and hex keys etc and start dismantling. It helps as well to take close up pics as you open things up. That way you can refer back to your pics if you get stuck. It's really not that difficult and you may find out you enjoy tinkering 👍 Regards

  45. Or you could just but a cheap RC Watt meter - It's what we RC Flyers use to test the power of motors before we commit to chucking our models in the air. And some of our motors are absolute monsters compared to the tiddly little things in the grips of Airsoft guns.

  47. We'll never know now, although given the toilet paper hoarding that occurred as well, I suspect that you may be right that we can't be trusted to do the right thing. I'm not actually disagreeing with the use of propaganda, by the way. That "viral" (i.e. nudged) video of a tearful and slightly milfy nurse begging people to stop panic buying was pretty effective. I'm not surprised by it. What I am doing is documenting a specific example, and suggesting that we shouldn't let ourselves get fooled twice, let alone over and over and over again for years. It's disheartening that so many people are still putting unquestioning faith in whatever we are being being told by strangers who view us, and - as you say - their own diktats, with such utter contempt. Even if they're collectively right that we're little more than instinctual animals who need to be herded, shouldn't we as individuals strive to be better than their bestial assumptions? Do our own research, and make up our own minds, rather than following the orders of people who don't follow them, and who we claim to not trust? That... doesn't seem particularly rational, or replete with moral integrity.

  49. vvv That. And different chemistries means you can't really compare like for like. Notionally an 8.4V NiMH should spin a no-load motor a little faster than a 7.4V LiPo, but those aren't the voltages that you'll actually see. Most chargers will take a lipo up to a reliable 3.7V per cell i.e. 8.4V for a 2-cell rather than 7.4V. A NiMH "8.4V" pack is 7 x 1.2V cells in series but chargers don't know that. All they can do is to stuff charge in until the battery resistance spikes / the charging current drops, which might be at any point depending on the worst cell in the pack. So much for voltage. The lithium cell will also be able to deliver more power, and will deliver it more consistently as it discharges, which will let your motor pull the spring as fast as it's able to. They both work, I'm not saying that you must get lithium based cells, but I prefer them.
