New Pews for Christmas
Druid799 and 3 others reacted to Tactical Pith Helmet for a topic
Sumrak in EMR from my nearest and dearest. Brilliant quality and design. I bought myself an old Soviet yellow Berezka suit, Soviet poncho, and Spekter balaclava. The lad received a CM.048, for which he promptly appropriated a side mount and red dot, and a moderator - all bloody mine and intended for my CM.040... Luckily Rocketdogbert sold me a cheap reflex sight last week, so I'll go for a rear sight rail from Ant Supplies as soon as they reopen. Better for eye relief/parallax than a side mount. I also picked up a Big Dragon M140, ML and nub, t/b barrel etc. Post script: he's had my bastard new sling too! Swiped from the stairs bookshelf. A sound thrashing is on the cards.4 points -
Already did that. I verify all my games by playing them and doing a data integrity test. If the buyer claims it's broken and not working, I have to accept the return. Either way here is the outcome. --------------------------- I managed to get a call-back from Ebay and explain my case, the representative was lovely to speak to, said that she hadn't come across a case like this where I had at least some sort of proof. (Maybe she was new!) She sent me a Affidavit form to sign and send back. 2 hours later Ebay refunded the buyer, but also refunded ME with no hit to my seller rating (Minus the return postage though). So Ebay took the majority of the hit on this. So I am quite happy with the outcome, but I do wish they stuck it to the buyer as refunding him is essentially rewarding a scammer. Bittersweet, but a better outcome then most people said I would get. Thank you for all of your advice, it helped me out a fair bit. I can probably sell just the case, slip and manual for a little bit of money to cover the returned postage fee and come out with a bit more profit.4 points

belief is fine, believe whatever you want no matter how stupid and it can and should be tolerated. sure there can be debates or attempts to convince out of it, indeed it can be fun to do so. but when that belief affects others then that's where the line must be drawn.2 points -
Ahoy and welcome. Are you an active airsofter, or is this more what you'd call... historical interest?2 points

Have you managed to source an ambidextrous selector? Brownells had them then went out of stock quicker than something going very quickly indeed.2 points

While it is very likely that COVID-19 escaped from the Wuhan lab, it shows no evidence of having been man made. It does show all the characteristics of being a naturally occurring virus. I am not a virologist, but have a friend who is. Similarly to many virologists around the world, his team have been studying this thing from the start; there is no evidence whatever that it is man made. Incidentally, I was in Wuhan in December 2019; there were reports of a cluster of pneumonia cases in the days before I flew home on 17th December. As for Omicron being "trucked in" to Africa, that is not at all supported by any of the evidence; the same is true of your bizarre claim that Tredos (I assume you mean Tedros) is a member of the CCP (actually the CPC) as he is neither Chinese nor a citizen of the PRC. Given your apparent deep knowledge of China, I assume that you have travelled extensively in that country and can talk with the locals. Belief is less valid when it is not based on facts and is based on delusional conspiracy theories. Why should those who propagate conspiracy theory nonsense be tolerated?2 points -
UPDATE: Thieving Toe Rag Buyers trying to do the old disk switcheroo!
Paul72 and one other reacted to concretesnail for a topic
Asomodai, have you tried using a uv security mark. Something we used to do when selling high value items was to place a UV security mark on the disk. And something I do when selling vinyl is to close up image all of the pressing numbers so disc switching is extremely difficult to do. Beyond that I'm glad you got at least a better result than I'd have through likely with the state of ebay of late.2 points -

New Pews for Christmas
Nick G and one other reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Blinged up a little with my Kobra, my cheap suppressor and a stock sling adapter that's too short to fit where it ought to go, but does fit nicely through the thumbhole and over the RIS which looks like it'll be fine. It's a cool beast Chrono'd at 270Fps on 0.20g. My spare M100 will go in sharpish, but there's actually two extra springs inside the box, I'll maybe try them too, out of curiosity! The hop unit is cheap feeling compared to the nice one in my DE M906C so I think I'll be finding a replacement sooner rather than later. The hop when applied looks off center, so not expecting much accuracy as it is. Happy Xmas everyone 😊2 points -
My son is well chuffed with his DE M906C... but more importantly I can now muck around with his G&G Firehawk and fit a GATE Titan. His best friend got a Lancer Tactical LT-04 GEN2 with battery / charger / red dot, and he's over the moon with it, primarily as they can now skirmish together (I so need a "Dad Taxi" sticker for my car).2 points

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Voodoo. reacted to TheNotoriousLoki for a topic
Another day at Bristol Airsoft (The Courts) today, was a fun day. A lot smaller teams so played more tactical. it’s such a surreal feeling sneaking through the cells in darkness, listening out for foot steps. As soon as I heard anything I stopped dead and aimed toward the direction it was coming from. My high cappa helped so much today also on the tight stairs. Just need a sling now and had to go one handed while holding my rifle down to the side. always seem to get hit in the same place tho, you can still see the reminiscence of the 19th when we last played but now a few new marks from today.1 point -

Well I think belief is just what it is. It doesn’t need to be backed up by proof or facts. And if a person is strong in their particular belief then they have no need to try and change someone else's belief to theirs. That shows me that they are not sure and need to reinforce their belief by making others join them. If someone spouts off about their particular theory about something then thats fine,it's their thoughts and ideas coming from an individual entity,it may not align with your thoughts and ideas but we are all capable of independent thought which makes us different. Why not tolerate folk with different viewpoints if they are not harming you directly.🙂 Regards1 point

It is actually a useful thing to know about, I got stuffed by my local getting locked down then closing down, and lost my UKARA for a year. Gun looks great, and since the defence for modification is future intent, having a game day booked should satisfy it regardless of any membership. Just between us (and the public record), I bought two-tones after my first day then had the paint stripped off within an hour of receiving them on the basis of having further days booked. Rub, rub here Rub, rub there Whether you're tin or plas-tic That's how we keep you realis-tic In the merry old land of Boz.1 point

Acceptable result for you anyway, bugs me as well eBay let they buyer get away with this, and as the cherry on top make you pay for the return shipping! There's currently no way you can give feedback so other eBay users can see what happened here. Only way you can do something is make a false positive feedback statement on his account, but he could then get that retracted as it goes against eBay policy. Ideal world eBay would allow sellers to see buyer history, return stats, cases etc, but of course that would mean lower profits for eBay. It's very one-sided. CEO sent out a huge email only last week to business sellers staying this is what we're doing for protection, some new changes, first email I've ever seen that went towards addressing the problem. Their forums are littered with similar sellers all complaining and threatening to leave.1 point

I heard that comment/story on the FET FB page, regarding another company buying out RS. But I always take talk of such things with a pinch of salt, since no one has yet to confirmed or deny it. As for the type 97 fiasco that has unfortunately been on going for years and there has been some really shady/out right criminal practices going with that.1 point -

F2000 sling
Paul72 reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Just to complete this thread for anyone who comes across it in the future, I bought a stock sling adapter off eBay. It's a d-ring on a length of webbing with a standard buckle on one end. Cost a fiver. It was too short to fit around the end of the stock through the sling slots. At 41cm that should have been blindingly obvious to me before I bought it 🥴 It was also a little wide, the slots are just under 30mm wide, but the 1.25"/32mm webbing will fit through with gentle persuasion. However, rather than buying a second one and linking them together, I decided to just run it through the thumbhole and over the top of the receiver, just in front of the rear sight. This works fine. The d-ring is available to the left for my single point sling to attach to, and it holds the weight of the gun at the center of gravity so I don't feel it is stressing the bodywork in any way. That does leave the gun dangling a little lower than I'd like but it'll do. The sling is definitely important because this gun is a chunky beast, feels noticeably heavier than my m4, at least until it's shouldered. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tactical-Universal-D-Ring-Sling-point-Adapter-Rifle-Buttstock-Loop-Strap-Airsoft-/1943510612651 point -

Thank you, she really does look the part now. potentially your right as the site I am going to is closing down soon, they are looking for a new site but not sure if they have found one yet. If they close before mid February, I wouldn’t have been able to get my UKARA through them anyways so I am glad I found out about the MVT.1 point -
JD Airsoft
Rogerborg reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
Yeah it's always struck me as super-easy to piss someone off with a high p&p cost. Amazon have made a whole business (Prime) out of selling us the ability to get things 'fast and free' because it makes the purchase so painless. Of course we've paid £70 (or whatever it is these days) up-front for the privilege, but damn, it works. Human psychology is a blunder-ful thing! You can see some higher unit prices on eBay too, but again they'll often capture my business even if the total is the same or slightly lower, along with the 'free p&p' wording. Ant Supplies will always get business from me because they'll do anything p&p included, though I feel guilty when I'm buying cheap stuff and the costs must surely be destroying their profit margin. One day I'll buy something more substantial, just to assuage my guilt! Anyway - JD's charge of £11 for my F2000 and 18,000 BB's and other bits'n'bobs in a hefty box was fair.1 point -
It’s a stretch, but gain could sit on either side - managing to get a RIF without a defence, making a sale without confirming a valid defence, and loss being the risk of an invalid RIF sale fine. But that’s all moot, nobody is ever going to find out ……. Unless one of the parties confesses on the internet ….1 point

DMRs are an odd one, many different power limits across different sites, where as full auto and bolt actions are fairly universal in their power limits. Depends on your local sites I guess. Though a 1.1j build with a dmr playstyle is pretty fun. And definitely get a second gun before tinkering. You don't want to be canceling game days because your gearbox is in pieces on a work bench 😅 But most importantly, do what is fun, even if its not logical. If it gets you playing its a good thing.1 point
