    THE TM MWS thread

I got my MWS some time ago, must have been a freshly hatched one, was quite small ... Read all 228 pages here (yes really) and found nothing about small MWS (except for some guys rebuilding theirs into short ones) Didn't want to send it back, so tried something: IT WORKED (insert evil scientist laugh ) (don't know why picture is upside down) Asking permission to join this exclusive club. Had not thetime to go out and play yet, but while reading this thread the MWS has quite grown on me 😁 (ok ok, I'll let myself out)

  2. I am playing at Bristol Airsoft, it’s a CQB site close to me. I am going with two friends, I have jumped the gun tho and got my gear before even playing my first game. I have a M4PI coming with two extra mags & two batteries. The gun I went for has a conversation kit so when I have my UKARA I can make it into a RIF. Not planning on a side arm for a while as want to get used to my rifle first. Hopefully when the weather improves next year I can go to Bristol Black Ops and high is more of an outside site where I can work on my long range. I will be calling all my hits for sure including ones I am not 100% on, it’s better to call them then keep playing when you might have been hit.

  6. It’s all Brexit’s fault , apparently when we enacted Brexit the UK ever so slightly time shifted in to a parallel dimension so that the country is now half in half out of the dimension that rest of the World is in , hence on the whole the rest of the world can’t get fuck all of what we’ve bought to us in a timely fashion(if at all) where’s as the day before it happened they could ! 😳

  8. Usually just help with agrubscrew on the bottom of the gas block , at least on a 'normal' MP5 . Have you had the rail off ? I would imagine the grub screw is hidden under that Not the greatest pictures , but location of grub screw And the front removed.

  9. I suspect that thead is supposed to be 14mm, on one of my MP5's it was bloody awfull , supressor or tracer wobbled on the threads. Replaced the fitting in the end and it's fine now.

  10. Oh, that model. Sorry, no idea, I have the short-short MP5K version that needs an innie-to-outie thread converter to mount most tracers or suppressors (or loudeners). It looks like that stocked and railed up... interpretation... is indeed the only one available at the moment.

A3 front on the WE L85, really liking the difference it makes to the look and the feel of the gun. Also like the fact that being green it keeps the classic L85 colour scheme.

  19. Yeah, I've made a faux pas with dealing with Satan and all his minions, and admitting it in public. But I did spot some stuff in the Black Friday sale that really took my fancy, so I've paid my coins to Beelzebub, and there's just nothing any of us can do about that now. My purchase was on the 26th November. Shortly after I got an email saying 'order completed'. But DHL (who may also be the Devil, or just in league with him) have had the same status of 'electronically notified' since then. So basically as far as I can tell, they've packed up my order but it's not even in transit yet. Is this unusual? What happened to all that Germanic / Austrian efficiency? Is it all DHL's fault? Have I been 'Brexited'? I have pinged Novritsch an email to chase, but no reply yet. edit: Oopsie. Just noticed I should have put this in the 'Places to buy' section. Sorry about that.

  20. I vaguely do, but not even my rich cousin had that! He had Ricochet which was my most favourite thing ever Slightly more related to pew-pewing, I really wanted Tin Pan Alley. I didn't get that, I ended up with two proper air rifles and eventually a .22 rimfire target rifle. So swings and roundabouts 😋

  22. Others might not be worried but that sounds horrendously low to me, that would have to be an immense amount of hop to rob you of around 70 FPS from a stock of around 340 FPS? I use 0.25g, the sweet spot for where I usually play, and with the hop set for this I still get around 335 to 340 on 0.20g when put through the chrono (and I'm going to test this myself again tomorrow morning, as I'm off work, to be 100% certain). I swapped in a Guarder SP100 spring a couple of months ago, the DE original had definitely compressed over around four full Sundays of play, however I'm also coming to the conclusion that the air-seal on DE M90X's is not as good as it could be (spring 2022 mine will need a good service and I think I'll swap in a better cylinder head, piston head and nozzle.

  23. It has all arrived and to be honest it doesn’t look or feel that bad (I don’t know what to watch out for yet but seems okay). it will be a starting gun which I will learn with and will probably move onto something bigger or better in the future. I won’t be using it on my first game as already paid for a rental so will use that to get used to it then bring it out at a later date.

  24. Cheers it doesn’t have a grub that I’ve seen, I think anti-clockwise would loosen it but don’t want to risk it….I’ll take back to the shop, they still need to sort the wiring to deans on the battery…. oh btw what do people recommend battery wise? It’s got a gate advanced in there so the original no longer fits so it’s getting a different one but I’ve noticed some saying used a higher powered one

  26. I've had the E&C version in the past and it's pretty decent, just upgraded the motor and hop rubber. It's the cheapest AEG they do, if you can get it outside UK you should be able to get one with the COLT markings

  27. At the end of the day, the vote happened 5 years ago so there's been plenty time to prepare. During which, our esteemed government piss-farted about, tried to go back on a vote multiple times, farted about some more, waffled a load of keech, fannied about trying to reach some sort of "deal" which was made an arse of anyway, farted about again, and eventually after much piss-arsing about told businesses with seemingly days to spare until Brexit day what the craic was... and still left them none the wiser. And here we are.

  28. 100% correct good sir , I currently have 6 TM recoils but over the years I’ve had around 13-14’ish ? And can more than happily say the only ones I’ve ever had problems with where the few that had been ‘up-graded’ , I have a Socom that’s 12’ish yrs old and a 74su around the same age , both stock(bar deans connector) and both STILL running fine . 👍

  29. Ahem. Please don't tempt me. Mrs. Eezer will be acquiring a nice set of testicle-shaped earrings should I dare buy any more stuff 😖 Although I may justify it by offing a couple of items. Maybe if I sell my current vest, M4 and Shotgun that are currently getting dusty I can justify it. Maybe. Or maybe I'll be forcibly neutered instead.

    Couldn’t help myself.

Unfortunately my experience of the bulldog M4 is it may last you about 2 games or less some times a bit more but don't expect much. They used to sell them at a place I did 2tone jobs for and a lot came back. I'd send it back as soon as you get it and buy something more reputable like from the GG cm range.

  33. Another fun day at Special Ops. Might be the last of the year for me though which makes me sad.... Some really enjoyable flanking moves to pop a few people from behind... and a couple of "oh shit" moments in point-blank encounters The photographers never seem to get me running around. Probably because I can't do much with these arthritic knees and spaghettified ankles Slow and sneaky my preferred method of attack DE M906C performing great through the day, so the AK still didn't get to strut its stuff. Edit: Ooh, found an 'action' shot, here's me doing a semi-panicked tactical reload out of my fast mag pouches

  34. Take the rail off and there should be a small grub screw on the bottom. Take that out and it unscrews. Does anyone know what size the threads are for a surpressor? I thought it was 14mm, but the can with those size threads is very loose

  35. I had a great day, contrary to my rather disappointing skirmish last time. Leaves have fallen, so sight lines are massively open and the VSR is performing damn well, even while having to contend with gusts of wind. Had to aim to the side to compensate for it, but was getting some stellar shots with it, so I'm happy. Also, first outing with my newly constructed ghillie and it's just invisibility; very happy with how it turned out though I do still want a Sprinter Custom Ghillie one. I had a guy run right past me while I was just sitting on my backside with my MP7 in my lap, then a team mate crawled pretty much next to me and only realised I was there when I warned him the enemy were close. This one was just put together because I had a bunch of Novritsch camo stuff lying about and a spare webtex concealment vest. Also learned from my mistake last skirmish and brought the MP7 instead of any of my gas pistols (as well as my thermals!) because it was coooooooold today. I have, to my shame, started using full auto when (relatively) close though, because I've found people just don't call it on semi-auto because it's a 0.6J aep firing .25s and they're just not feeling it. They typically feel a burst of 5 or 6 though. Roll on next game day. Christmas game, so silliness abound!

Cheers Halo and good luck, let us know how it goes! I have considered the EG ones to be the best by the looks of it. I do fear the weight is going to be an issue though. 😕 J

  38. Welcome to the never-ending temptations of acquiring airsoft gear... Hope you're first game goes well, I'm sure you'll love it! Best advice I could give before spending any more moolah is - get out and play, play, play, that way you'll get a feel for what you'd need/like without wasting cash on stuff that sounds or looks great but is of not much use. Looks like you've got much of what you'll need to start out. I'd recommend 2 or 3 mags for reloads and maybe a spare battery. Don't worry too much about sidearm at this stage. Most importantly of all, enjoy! Eezer G

  39. For over ear, I recommend Peltors. I have a pair I use when RCO for the Cadets and they are brilliant. Turn up the sensitivity and they are like hearing aids, you hear better with than without. Also used them for TIBUA and been in a room with an SBS and trigger happy cadets firing 5.56 blank with no ill effects. Only problem I have is on indoor ranges they amplify the fans too much.

  41. Some more handy everyday stuff... Hoodies, for warmth and head protection. Parka jacket, as above, plus mag storage. Nice cold Wx/minimalist loadout. Joggers or hillwalking trousers, handy for basic loadouts. Anything Goretex, for those days where it just pishes it doon. Summer motorcycle gloves, plenty protection and yet dexterous enough for games. Balaclava, for warmth and a modicum of minimal protection against headshots. Bum bags, for the ultimate minimalist loadout. First Aid kit... say no more! Anything OD/Jack Pyke/Fishing/Outdoor gear etc for effective camo. Shirts, hoodie, trousers, jackets etc. Waterproof walking boots - a must at woodland venues. Vicks/Olbas for the winter months.

  44. I was so posh I had this... Yours on eBay "in pristine condition" for the bargain price of £600 !!! (plus £15 p&p!) (That's not me trying to bag that ridiculous amount for it by the way, it's just one of the first things I saw when searching for a pic)

  45. I had a bunch of stuff sitting around, so I decided to do something with it, though I'm not great at actually crafting suits; using them, yes, but not crafting them! It'll do until I can afford to splash out on a Sprinter Custom Ghillie... Webtex concealment vest with a bunch of Novritsch ghillie stuff attached. I wanted to do this rather than attaching all the stuff to a leaf suit because I don't have any ghillie'd up gear and I don't particularly want to experiment with my gucci Warrior Assault System gear. This I can wear over my belt kit so it doesn't matter.

  47. That's what I'm seeing, it's either free shipping, or no shipping. Given the high chance of getting charged another 20-25% plus an unknown delay at customs (especially right now) even with DHL, I think I'm going to pass again until the new year, when we've had some reports one way or another. Also, it really rankles that they still seem to be charging Polish VAT at the point of sale, and we'll get rinsed for UK VAT on import. And, oh wow, to add teabagging to the insult on top of the injury, are we going to being charged UK VAT on the full price including the Polish VAT? That's a mugging too far for me.

  48. That's what I use, or a rebranded equivalent. Works for me, and had a decent variety of tips. That's a decent price for that whole package, everything you need to get going, although a set of helping hands... helps.

  49. I picked this up thinking of all the cons of an Eotech clone (Seeing your own reflection when light is behind you in a dark area, horrible parallax etc) and was pleasantly surprised when this sight had none of those downsides! The XTO seems to have little to no parallax and it has a mirrored finish on the front glass, but you don't see your reflection if you're in a dark area and have a light source behind you. I paired this up with Vector Optics' x5 Flip-to-side Magnifier and have encountered no reticle ghosting, nor any distorted image when looking through the lens, it's crystal clear. The buttons function as normal, with pressing the up and down buttons simultaneously turning off the optic, pressing the up button turning it on, up and down changes the brightness of the reticle, and the NV button turning the reticle from red to green and vice versa. The optic also has working elevation and windage controls on the right side of the metal outer shell. It also uses a CR123A battery, the same as the real steel. I'd been looking for a good, or even usable Eotech clone for quite a while, and I never saw anyone reviewing this sight on the website, the only 2 video reviews being on YouTube. Here's some footage of the parallax from one of the reviews, in case you're wondering. Here's a link to the XTO on Patrol Base and here's a link to Vector Optics' 5x Flip-To-Side Magnifier, again, on Patrol Base. I highly recommend this holo sight and magnifier pairing! Here's a picture of my VFC HK416A5 with both the XTO and Magnifier installed:
