    Gun picture thread

Now normally I’m definitely not a “guns done !” sort of player as I’m always want to change this’n’that with my guns , but after getting an ‘old school’ red dot from these very forums(very BIG shout out to @kistofurryfor it) I honestly can say I’m really happy with it now and can’t see anything I want different on it . Now that’s nice .

  8. I got it! All I had to do was hit it a couple times and smack the hatch in place lol. I didn’t wanna hit anything to hard or end up breaking something but I guess that’s how it’s supposed to be closed. thank you all for the help.

  13. I bought some of the Smiths a while back purely so I had a set with a battery pack that's easily relocatable, but I've owned a couple of pairs of ESS Turbofans for.. more years than I can remember. I rate kit the most if it basically vanishes while in use and I don't notice it and the ESS fall well in to that category. I've got plastic mask lower halves zip tied on, I put that combo on my face with the fans on the low setting and go about my game with no worries at all. Being the cheapest of the 3 I'd say go with the Revisions unless you want a specific colour or to move the power supply; but all great eye pro that I couldn't do this hobby without personally.

WE M4 PDW long Black edition. originally 2 tone by zero one, last pdw they had in stock and has seen no action, upper resprayed. LFD disc fitted (2 spares included) to the nozzle to lower the fps for use with Hpa. Maple leaf decepticon bucking newly fitted, unused original included. new RMR sight, new ar15 grip which I find more comfortable, nuprol hard gun case included. manuals inc. PowerAir6 350 round drum mag with HPA adaptor, only 1 month old and cost a fortune. In nearly new condition, has probably fired around 300 rnds. The trigger box is set for semi auto only and works like a charm. I had intended to get a second angry gun unit so I could swap between semi and full auto application. Works great from around 300fps up to 450fps with no issues, more than happy to provide pics of the nozzle and internals if required. a great little gun with great kick. £350 posted

  16. This morning while waiting to go to work, I was browsing the Air-Soft websites which I am planning to get my gear from. The problem is the temptation was to high and I bought my first gun and all my other gear I need (still need to get boots). I decided on the “Bulldog M4PI RIS CQB” bundle from JustBBguns. https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/bundle-offer-bulldog-m4pi-ris-cqb-airsoft-gun-starter-set/ A carry case, extra battery, extra hi-cap mag, goggles & face mask. I then went over to patrol base and bought some trousers, hoodie, gloves, helmet and tax-vest. that’s my early Christmas present to myself sorted. Now need to get the fiancé something lol.

  22. sometimes ak top covers do need a little smack to get them to seat, it's a good thing as it means the top cover is held tight and won't rattle. worth checking that the latch is still sliding free, can be pretty common for it to get misaligned with its rails in the gearbox casing and not be springing back properly.

  23. Yup that’s ya problem , the catch isn’t engaging hence the dust cover is popping off . you need to get the edge of it in to the slot , give it a bit of brute force and ignorance and it should go in I’ve had it happen with a few AK’s over the years as well . Try pushing the button in as you slide the dust cover on at the same time as well .

  24. I put the front end in the notch and am having issues with the back end. I can’t seem to get the back end inside the lower body as it looks like yours is. It looks like it’s close idk if I have to keep cranking down and banging on the hatch until I feel it lock in. Idk lol I don’t wanna break anything.I already tried pressing it down a bit harder and it didn’t wanna go. https://imgur.com/a/kI0Fwf1 idk if the picture helps at all but I’m trying to get the very back end tucked in how you have it.

  27. With regards to internal modification, I cannot personally say as I have never worked on TM ebb AK'S However if you've only play a few games and only put a few hundred to a thousand rounds through it, you may want to consider holding off on internal mods, and give the AK a chance to break in. All brand new AK's I have had, have a break in period where intial performance is OK but after a few thousand rounds in my experience there was a noticeable improvement. Just one thing to consider, as it may save you time and money, but it your kit and money so it down to you.

    CYMA Mains Adaptors

Looks like an old RC connector. Doubt you'll find one to be honest. Also those batteries have different chemistries, one is Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) and the other is Ni-Mh (Nickel Metal Hydride) You could use the same charger but its not recommended as they would charge at different rates so the charge time would be different. Yes, there is a jump from the very low quality plastic throw away ones to half decent and reliable ones. A bit of research is always recommended before any purchases. You really should get a 7.2v Li-Po battery and decent charger then fit Deans connectors to everything. You'll be able to use that battery with any gun after that. The CM033 is very good (I have one) Not as heavy as the real thing of course but a good weight to it and shoots very well. I've heard the Double Bell Kar98K is also very good. Repeated bolt pull might be a strain for a young one depending on age but its arguably more satisfying than just pulling the trigger repeatedly with an electric one like the CM033. Then again, the CM033 has full auto which is also fun. Whatever you get, make sure to clean the barrel before using a new gun. (It really can make a difference to the performance)

  29. I'm 53 , have a team mate who is over 60 and I know there are quite a few 'senior' folk on here. We all just play our own style of games at our own pace and leave all the running about like their hair is on fire to the cannon fodder , sorry, youngsters while we have a cuppa nd a nice biscuit before providing support 😁

  30. Hi All Thanks for the replies; it is a two-tone for a start... so thats all good. Half of it is blue. On the charger front, I've attached some pictures; you'll see the connectors - and also the larger 700mah battery that came with the gun, then the 'replacement' I got sent that still doesn't make the gun work.... which leads me to thinking is the charger. I bought a multimeter and the batteries show voltage... the charger doesn't when plugged in - but not sure if thats only because it outputs stuff when something is pulling on in it. I could solder a tamiya connector on both ends, locate a tamiya-style charger and do all of that... just 'should I'... is the question... I will most likely get my son a replacement - theres a couple from Patrolbase I was looking at either the CM033 Thomson AEG or the DoubleBell Kar98 spring rifle... Any other recommendations? Just annoying that you buy something... it stops working after 6 weeks with very little use and the retailer after a lot of pushing sent a battery that wasn't the same and then after that has basically given up. Very frustrating. Won't be using them ever again. With those photos if anyone has a charger they don't use anymore and are willing to part with it... let me know

  31. Good points and I appreciate the advice. I wasn't referring to having the kit be Instagram worthy in that way I just meant more in a sense that it looks good I just used that wording because the other poster mentioned it in that way. I should have put quotes around it to emphasize that though. I'm not interested in likes, in fact I don't post much on Instagram at all or any social media as I just don't have an interest in it. I just want to like the way my kit looks regardless of what anyone on the field thinks of it however my main point was that I don't want to go full practical and have a kit just full of pockets or like some cheap low quality gear that is only there for the purpose of storage and being accessible and looks hideous. Hell yeah dude. Black SWAT is sick as shit. I was considering it when I saw a picture of someone wearing it but I just like the look of the goggles and the ghillie cloak slightly more than just full black. Amen and I totally agree. As I mentioned to another poster perhaps saying "Instagram" look was a bit misleading as to what I meant. I just meant a look that looks good aesthetically to me. I don't use social media to that point where I would care. The only thing I care about is having a loadout that looks great and cool to me.

  34. By waist size I should have ( :counts slowly: ) one hundred and forty seven usable slots.... I've actually got 8 (double) slots on this belt... already used 6 and one would crowd the holster and hinder my quick-draw skills (ha ha), so really I've just got the one slot left for the pouch. It'll do. (And it did only cost £15 anyway) Naughty, naughty, you're getting the special Moses Beacon pic... ...because that wasn't a pun

  35. I have the ESS ones. I also sweat like a glassblowers arse. One cold days, after I've been running about and then stop still for a bit I get a bit of fogging in the top of the bridge area but it clears pretty quickly once you start moving again. The only issue I have with mine is that the foam gasket on the inside that goes up against your face disintegrated and relacing it is nigh on impossible. Another one to consider is the Revision Desert Locust Fan Goggles https://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/revision-desert-locust-fan-goggle-essential-kit-15381-p.asp

  36. I am the pinnacle of a tacticool player, and I ain’t scared to admit it. Black SWAT load out in all weather, even snow, and a two-tone sniper rifle. Not practical at all, I get shot loads, but I don’t care. I look cool and I feel good and that’s that. If you actually have a brain-unlike myself- you would choose DPM or MTP. I’d advise DPM due to being in the UK, as it camouflages a lot better than MTP does

  37. I'll elaborate more: Having a realistic feeling gun is great, but in terms of actual performance on the field, the body being polymer or metal doesn't make any difference. Thing is, we are mostly lumping around our guns all day and slowly drain our energy. The weight of the thing will determine at what point in time you'll start to hate your life I'd rather have an all polymer gun that is light and manoeuvrable than something realistic looking but that will tire out my arms quickly. with that being said, Specna (along with Evolution, Dboys and Saigo Defense) offers more than G&G despite having a lower price point: proper steel bushings, decent brass barrel, QC gearbox and rotary hop unit, whereas G&G insists on brass bushings, pressed tinfoil barrels and those stupid geared hop units that a) are more expensive to make and b) they are flawed in design because they tend to unwind themselves. And they out screws on the wrong side of the gearbox -.- you pay for the brand (and a fancy polymer body with the 2.0 series) but get outdated internals. I know you can replace those parts on a G&G buy why pay more and replace parts when you can spend less and have them on board already?

  40. Aaahhhhh, nostalgia. I'd recognise a Mk3 Fiesta any day of the week, regardless of how badly any owner had buggered up the bodywork with "upgrades". My first car. L-reg 1.1 Finesse in Java Blue. No power steering, airbags or ABS, overhead valve HCS engine with a mighty 49hp at full chat. Bloody marvellous. Was like owning a classic car. I still miss it. Anyway... a million likes for the above post. Nail, Hammer, Head...

  42. The thing is whether or not something looks good is personal. To use your example of cars, some might think this looks good but personally I think it looks like a polished turd Pick your kit based on what YOU like, not what others think is "cool". If others don't like your kit then that's their problem Yes we are. My point is that, when it comes to loadouts, the only person who's opinion matters is the person wearing it. Chasing likes on social media is going to leave you with an impractical loadout which will affect your enjoyment of the game

  46. Well, this has arrived. Might not look like much but this is a nice 2x1m roll of EVA that marks the start of my sci fi armour project that I'll be working on over the next few weeks. It's my first experience of doing this, so it could go amazingly well, or feckin horribly catastrophically bungled. Either way it'll be fun. Going to do a build thread if anyone's interested.

  47. Half done by Dave's Airsoft, half done by Supreme - defintiely recommend them to anyone wanting cerakoting done! Compared to Dave's he was extremely fast (turnaround was under a week I think), communicative and kept me up to date with pictures and I accidentally sent along the mag-release for my SCAR-H which got cerakoted red - I told him but he had already done it, but he stripped and re-did in black for free!

  48. the "gas" in a gbb magazine is a mix of liquid and gas. when you fire the pressure drops, liquid portion starts boiling and the pressure raises back up, this is also why they tend to not like colder temperatures as the equilibrium pressure, and the rate of boiling will decrease. same reason why they don't like being fired quickly (where you're venting gas pressure faster than the boiling can top up) it's not perfect, but it approximately keeps the pressure the same (close enough for our purposes) as long as there's liquid left in the magazine. if your familiar with cheap gas lighters it's exactly the same principle (and you can even see the liquid portion decrease over time in the transparent ones). for hpa, this isn't the case, it's 100% gas, so to acheive a usable working volume it has to be compressed to much higher pressures then regulated down to the pressure you want to use. it's not really practical to build all this into a small enough package to fit inside a magazine hence using an external tank+regulator. there are systems out there, notably the daytonagun kits, that operate like a gbb only with the air feed going through the gun rather than the magazine so you run it with a standard hpa setup. afaik the WE p90 can also be made to work like that due to the way they worked around the top mounted magazine.

  49. On my quest to pervert rare airsoft guns I present v1 of my JS9 build. v2 is currently printing, with a few small mods and a proper retention system. Ideally I will find a compatible SMG mag that is only as wide as a MP5 mag, but wider to do a proper QCW-05 or QCQ-05 build. If so I will redesign it to fit around said mag - the real Q-series uses a 5.8mm bullet that results in a longer mag (front to back).
