This was the longest downtime since migrating the site in 2018 and that shouldn't happen, sorry. This particular update was a major change that required revisions to the server running the forums (and not just the forum software itself), so it shouldn't happen again any time soon. Things to look out for As with any update the search is reindexed and parts of the database rebuilt in the background. The website may not be as quick to respond as you're used to during this 12-hour period starting from when this thread was posted The Classifieds module will be updated in the next 48 hours or so to bring it into line with the core forum software version. Please allow for issues during this time Expect general issues with the website until the site template has been updated This large update to IPS (the forum software) includes various new features. Achievements Yet to fiddle with this one or implement it at all - could be fun, could be really annoying. I would appreciate your patience on this one while I figure out a baseline and then see if it's complained about enough to warrant removal. Given the delays yesterday in getting the site online, I thought it more important to have things up and running rather than look into the detail of this update. I am aware of the issues with it not granting certain achievements that you should already have. This has not yet been set up and might well be removed entirely. Achievements are visible in your profile. In-browser notifications These have been expanded so you might get more than you used to (especially on a mobile device). I have tried to disable notifications until I can get a grasp on how annoying they might become, but this is a new update so may carry a few new ones. AF-UK app Part of the new update is IPS's testing of their app available in early testing on Android and iOS. We are an early user of it (no idea what criteria they base this on). You may be prompted to download the app, but note that very few things in this app are something that I can control. Who knows if the Classifieds will integrate at all. Edit 1: As of 16/07/21 - this appears to not be working. You can see us in the app but not load the forums. I've asked IPS if they can find out what's wrong. Edit 2: As of 17/07/21 - I've been told that the app is currently offline - nothing to do with us and it is in early testing. Should be back some time soon?

It's entirely unfair to speculate based on incomplete scraps of 2nd hand information. But I'll go ahead and do it anyway: of course he did. Why he's still allowed on any UK site at this point just baffles me. The Depot CQB sodded Dan Wesson style shell loading revolvers off completely after they caught multiple folk doing exactly this, chronoing with power-down then loading the stock shells. It's unfair on the people who use them with the power-down shells, I don't particularly agree with it on principle, but in practice it's a wonder that any chrono cheating sociopaths get caught at all. The elephant in the bunker for me is Mk23s with barrel extensions hidden inside silencers being used without a MED when they can be putting out 1.5J or more. And we know who likes to use those.

The Action Army T11 performed great last game out. Shame it was so humid and warm that lenses on glasses were constantly covered in moisture. Used the Predator in the afternoon. Hadn't realised It looks so green.

I know he bought it off a bloke called Tim. Because he'd done the work on it and then sold it to James. All the wingun style revolvers are the same as their airgun counterparts except for 3 pieces. Same gas parts, identical power. Inner barrel, forcing cone and shells are what separates them.

As said riot shields are site specific and often game specific with very set rules for use. I have never played a site where players could use their own shield.

I don't think you will need one. Airsofters are generally quite well behaved 😉

Something like riot shields are going to be very site specific. You'll have to ask the site(s) you're planning on going to to find out.

I can imagine gangs will relish the idea of having a deadly weapon they can dump onto a kid after killing a rival. It gives way more work for the police who have to check every Lego or Nerf gun they come across.

Also, if you work on an m14, you're pretty much diving in at hardmode, so then doing any work on other AEGs will be a piece of cake

The WE SVD actually has decent range. I am getting rid of mine because I get bored easily and left handed (not brilliant for the optics). bang for your buck I would go with the cyma M14 really good range out the box. Gas wise Kjw 10/22 is good with decent after market support

Galaxy MP5k, love the clean classic lines of this little gem and needed something fun for evening cqb. Played a game with it stock however and it was fairly lackluster. Added a tracer unit, new ht motor and better lipo. Second game session with it last week and what a difference, great little piece of kit. The rear sling mount broke quickly so have drilled that out and replaced it with an old keyring. Also added a tritium vial to the front post, great idea nicked from a few pages back.

Today started badly. The (forward wired) battery wire in my main M4 had been pushed back into the body of the rif under the gearbox and stopped the mag from locating when I tried to chrono. Since I was in a rush, I went to grab my spare M4, only to find the motor spinning away in the grip and not engaging at all. A bit of thinking sorted the wire out in rif number one, as looking at gnu two, I could see where it is supposed to run. Extremely simple two second fix but being late and flustered did not help. The rest of the day went fine. Good gameplay and lots of sneaking through the undergrowth bumping the other team and seeing who was fastest on the trigger, usually them tbh, as I misidentified a couple of people as friendlies! A team mate actually stand on me, much to his surprise, as I was sneaking up on a group of players, so at least my camo and fieldcraft must have been on point. No complicated storylines as ‘rona limits the group carrying etc, but I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay despite some people moaning about non-hit taking. Marshals coped with the situation really well and had the correct words with a couple of lads. Lots of running, leaping and shouting followed. Several girls played today, which is nice to see. Cold sausages and salad for lunch since I am following the AFUK low carb diet… drank six litres of water in field. Seriously, I wonder how anyone gets by with a ’56 pattern bottle and bugger all else hydration wise. The site tech shimmed the motor on gnu two for nix as he is a diamond of a chap. I kind of wish that I’d made the effort to take a themed loadout, since a few people had done so, but my standard skirmish rig is pretty tried and tested and has evolved through the years. Went home drenched in sweat with two working guns, a big grin and a strong desire for a G&T. Good day out.

I'm running 0.32's in my MTW at the moment. I'm going to keep that my weight for more urban sites and progress to 0.36's and maybe eventually 0.4's for woodland bush time! Me and my mate tested our MTW's side by side at 65m (actual metres measured with a range finder), which I think equates to nearly 85 Airsoft metres. I used 0.32 and he used 0.36's and We both hit the same measured tree at 65m. My shots were just starting to fall a little where as his were still going fairly straight. Some.of my tighter mates are still running 0.2's in their AEG's. These are by no coincidence the same friends that bitch and moan EVERY SINGLE BLOODY GAME that people aren't calling HIT at 14 miles away! 😂That got a bit ranty there but atleast it stayed roughly to the topic of BB's...... Edit: The one good thing about 0.32 though is the price of a bottle is about £15 for 3300, then the big jumps start with any weight after that!

Less hurty than point blank 0.2g at 1.13 or 1.2J. Just to be absolutely clear, you're aware that site limits aren't (e.g.) 350fps with whatever BBs you happen to have in there, right? They're (e.g.) 350fps with 0.2g, and progressively lower limits with heavier ammo in order to keep the muzzle energy down to whatever your site limit is. Sorry to ask, but I've genuinely seen that on Facebook, folk thinking that they can shoot any weight they like at 350fps from AEGs, because sites are still stuck in the 1990s and only talk about FPS and not energy.

I like my western stuff. KM did a video with a revolver he claims was from SWIT, in actual fact he bought it off someone in the UK that did some nice work with a lathe. Anyway, they take dan wesson shells, to lower the power down to about 280 fps low power ones are used with a smaller gas outlet. He claims a 75 meter range on 0.48s Regular shells, and low power shells have different coloured heads. Those are high powered coloured shells. No wonder the guy wasn't keen on the headshot. Also, I'm not a KM fan, or watch his stuff, I just recognised the gun and facebooks algorithm put it on my feed.

I have a pair of revolvers that I use from time to time for S&G. I am in the US so the rules are a bit more lax, but having been at the receiving end of one of these (TTT game, kid hit me in the back from less than 2 feet away with the first shot from a fresh C02 cartridge. Slipped around my PC and struck skin - still have a scar to this day. Ref spot chrono'd him after that and the second shot was 523FPS) I dont like using the stock shells as they can seriously hurt someone, especially when you can easily be pushing out 500FPS+ with your first few shots. So I designed and printed some shotshells. Range is crap compared to my other pistols (especially my TMs) but I only have to hit within my 75ft MED with my lever action and now I have low FPS (250-280) shotshells.

It was covered but all the hits are pretty hard when you’re playing CQB. You could get a very nice side-arm for the cost to fix it. Lesson learned the hard way.
