Counselling really worked for me, struggled for a long time after I got out and found off loading really helped, although I always struggled thinking that my problems were small and irrelevant to others. But seeing a counsellor made me see that actually my issues were important not only to me but others. I would always say to anyone struggling with their mental health is to reach out as there is always help even if it’s on a forum full of jaded old boomers 😜3 points -

You have purchased a lipo/life charger, but you're trying to charge a NimH battery on it. I have my doubts the battery will charge on it because the charger will require a balance cable plugged in with NimHs don't use. Personally I recommend sending both back where you got them from and purchase a decent smart charger which can charge both lipos and NimH and a Lipo battery rather then NimH. That is a very poor charger and NimH is old tech.3 points

Hey so I can speak from recent experience. Similar to you I wasn't concerned with 100% total accuracy, I just wanted to general look of an L119A2 and I substituted some items for practical reasons. Short answer: Yes it is perfectly doable. Long answer: I got my first GBBR (MWS) in January and just finished converting it to an L119A2. Payed my first game with it just last week. And it was amazing. Let's go tip to butt. Muzzle & Barrel: I went with the Angry gun SF216A suppressor and flash hider. Nice thing about this is it is QD. You can also make small modifications to fit some small pistol tracers in the can. I matched this with an Angry gun 10" inch L119A2 outer barrel. Now here is an important bit. The Angry Gun outer barrel doesn't play nicely with the TM hop unit and you have to modify the outer barrel slightly to get it to fit and to get the hop working. You have to do some small filing. Or you could opt for the Angry gun hop unit but I wanted to keep the TM. I am not sure how this has effected performance as I was never able to test my stock MWS at long range. I am getting about 40- 50 meters effective range on .28s and no other mods except the Six G nub which will hop heavier bbs if I want. Next I have the Angry Gun short L119A2 rail, notice the AG theme here. Important to note you don't have to get the Angry gun barrel for this to fit as some other barrels out there will fit with the rail. But the TM stock outer barrel isn't compatible with the rail without a modified PTS adapter ring. Grips and rail attachments: I have the Magpul AFG, I have seen a lot of people running stubby grips and thats fine but I personally prefer the AFG. It looks the part, but really go with either a stubby vert grip like the BCM or the Magpul RVG if you are more comfortable with them. I tried both the AFG and RVG and returned the RVG. Magpul RSA sling attach point. Just the normal RSA not the QD but get whatever works for your sling. Cheap ladder rail covers, Element brand I think. Optics: Here we have the first non L119A2 part. I went with a Holosun HS403C classic in FDE. I actually ordered this before I wanted to do an L119 build but I don't regret it. It auto adjusts brightness based on it's solar panel and it has very little parallax. You could absolutely go with cheaper replica red dots but I love the look of the Holosun. It looks very T1 ish but different and the FDE is great. Also as it is designed to work with real firearms it holds zero and is durable enough for games. I also got the guns modify T1 sight protector as this fits fine and protects this pricey sight from bbs. Pistol Grip and butt stock: I went with the PTS EPG, again ordered this before I knew I wanted to do an L119 but it looks ok and is comfortable. I mainly wanted an affordable FDE grip and this does the job. The CTR Stock in FDE is fantastic. It Is one of my fave pieces on the gun and is accurate to L119A2 builds. Paired with a Magpul MS3 with QD point it is very practical too. I would caveat all of this by saying I didn't actually put the gun together myself. I did everything except the barrel and hand guard as getting it on in a way that fits with the outer barrel and hop situation, as well as getting the rail not to rotate, was difficult without a Vice and correct tools. So I paid a guy locally from the L119A2 Owners club on Facebook groups. Highly recommend joining that group if you want to do this build. Don't worry they're not all elitists. My biggest comment with this whole thing is that for an L119A2 there just aren't a lot of brands doing all the parts at the moment. You are very reliant on Angry Gun and their QC is hit and miss. I am still a bit annoyed I never tested the thing pre angry gun parts but it is performing okay. Just would be nice to know if they are effecting performance. However a if you don't care about the small details like ambi selector and charging handle. Most of the accessories are third party off the shelf things that go with most SF M4 builds. The rail and short barrel are really wet give it the L119A2 look.2 points

Thanks. I have emailed them today and asked if they can swap the batery. I bout the guns and chargers 3 years ago. The guns have sat unused for 2 years. Batteries no good. So I ordered a new battery from the same store not being aware of the chargers limitations. My bad of course. Hopefully they will do .e a swap. Fingers crossed. If not, looks like the guns will be parked up again. Such is life1 point

Again nothing toooooo epic , First game back this coming Sunday , SOOOO question is what to take ? decisions decisions ! 🤔 At this point best bud who I’m going with pops up and says “let’s do a BHD loadout , we haven’t done a ‘film sim’ in years !” Ok I can dig that , he then says “let’s go rangers every dog and his mother does DELTA” yea a VERY true point there . Got most of the kit bar the helmet so I got a choc chip cover for a mich2000 I had squeezed it on but doesn’t look right to me SO yet another expenditure on kit !🤦♂️ Luckily not a great one as USMCPRO has a good sale on and picked up a cheapo M88 for not a lot of 🍺 tokens . Got rid of the horrible black chinstrap , made a new more accurate one in Olive . happy now(ish) ! One does so hate being a Geardo ! 😁1 point

Cyma Svu
Thedadoodle reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
must admit i'm curious myself. i presume it's gonna be a longer stroke cylinder (like an sr25), but internally the cyma stuff ain't too shabby. hop unit might be a fun one, combat union make an svd hop unit although whether this is for the cyma pattern or some other variant i don't know, if it does fit the cyma then that'd yeild an aftermarket nozzle too. i think (read: assume) @Asomodai will have picked one up in his quest to own all the bullpups so maybe he might have some more specific info. tbh for a dmr platform, assuming it takes the combat union hop/nozzle i'd probably just change the piston head for the air seal, bump up the spring (although it might be pretty close from factory) and a new barrel/bucking/nub (probably my usual pdi/macaron/omega combo) and wire in a warfet (which will sort any sluggish response) then feed it some good .48's1 point -

Agreed, but at the time ( 20 odd years ago, it was the only thing that worked. Having not slept for 2 months, my GP at the time offered me a choice. Get sectioned or take temazapam. So, Temazapam it was. Along with Diazapam when required. These days thankfully, its just the Sertraline.1 point -
Yeah no worries, I have just finished this last week so was eager to tell all. Join the L119 owners club on Facebook as they are really friendly and have techs on there too. Also checkout thereptilehouse blog on their L119A2 builds if you do want to get it super close to the real thing.1 point

Did you buy them with a gun all from the same place? I’m surprised I one pointed out or advised on different bits which has been my experience with uk stores at least. You need a NiMH charger for that battery. Or buy a LiPO battery for that charger... Call up the shop and speak to them about your order they might be able to swap one or both for something compatible1 point

I was happy to wait for a bargain as I wasn't in a hurry. I could have had a 10 gun for £150 but decided I didn't need that much space. Like you I found the cost of storage cabinets to be surprisingly high. If my collection grows a lot more I might look at something like this in the future:- https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3913062612063139/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A311c4b8d-cd74-49f0-a8a6-bceab69f0b491 point -

No none of them boring topics of one up manship , we could start a whole new one on ‘what dose of sertraline your on ?’ ! Just see it now “I’m so depressed my Drs put me on 50mgs a day !” next guy “You call that depression and anxiety ? I’m on 500mgs a day ya pussy !” 🤦♂️ 🤣🤣🤣1 point

@Tackle, first off you lot (heavily established members of this forum) can be intimidating. There I said it, i'm not the most outgoing person, sure, i'd be the third to admit that 😉, what a number of new users (maybe) is finding their voice amongst you sages (grouches). Indeed, a number times i've read half a thread, formed my thoughts on it only to read those same thoughts on the next comment...it can be frustrating to be last inthe room. I know that a core of us (you) users are sure to welcome everyone that posts in the 'new player' board and that is to be applauded. It could be these comments are just them adding their comment as if it were a FB post and thats how their are easing into the forum. You can be cynical and correct, most of this is just me word vomiting trying to get my post count up, I have some stuff to sell. Rega - damn now im doing it1 point -

Standard Comparison Question, AEG
Dacks_18 reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
Raider V1 came in two lengths, S and L Raider 2.0 comes in one length, with a 275mm inner barrel. Raider 2.0E (ETU model) comes with the longer barrel. 7.4v with a Hi-Torque is no issue. I have been running that combo for years. I would recommend two batteries, with a lunchtime battery swap. I recommend hobbyking batteries as they can be had for £6 each from their UK warehouse. They can be had with Deans or Mini-Tamiya connectors (which is standard on G&G guns) pre-fitted so yep, plug in and go. You don’t need any electronic upgrades such as Mosfets to run 7.4v LiPos.1 point -
Standard Comparison Question, AEG
Dacks_18 reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
Nope. Leave it alone. Don't touch the gearbox until it breaks. First (and most noticeable) upgrade - SHS Hi-Torque motor Second - 275mm ZCI barrel inner barrel Third - Hop Rubber and Nub (the stock Raider G&G green rubber isn't bad at all, so I wouldn't worry for a while) Run on a 7.4v Buffer Tube LiPo and you are good to go.1 point -
Standard Comparison Question, AEG
Dacks_18 reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
Yep - they are marginally better specified internally. To be clear - virtually all entry-level AEGs have metal gears - G&G Raiders included. It could be argued that G&G gears might actually be slightly better finished than Specna's (I'm basing that on a small sample of 2 G&Gs Combat Machines and a single Specna that I've owned, so others may claim otherwise). The MOSFET is a very new addition to the CORE lineup - not all models have been equipped with them yet so make sure that the vendor specifically states that one is fitted if that's a selling point for you. It's not a great MOSFET by any stretch though. I have the same MOSFET in a higher-end Specna model that has died after one day of use (again - small sample). A 'standard' trigger switch (like the G&G) is no bad thing - they are very reliable as long as you don't try to stick a monster of a LiPo battery on it. But for a tenner more - this gun beats both (IMO) but the proprietary nature of ICS ain't everyone's cup of tea.1 point -
