    THE TM MWS thread

MWS No. 2 has arrived! This one is destined to become a 416D courtesy of a HAO Industries conversion kit... Made possible with a very persuasive boss (a fellow airsofter) and a belated 2019 Christmas bonus burning a hole in my pocket! 😂 Updates to follow of course as and when parts arrive. 😁

  2. A boring Systema? Wash your mouth out with a bottle of whiskey sir! But only if it’s a 18yr old single malt 😂. Why did you have to go and mention Seal Team? Now you have gone and done it. I’ll have to sit through all the episodes again for HK inspiration 😂

Pretty much why I'm holding out for theirs over the archwick kit due out at some point.... Although all this talk of 416's has got me thinking now 🤣🤣🤣

You just know that's going to be a lovely kit! I'm sure they will sell very well.

  7. If I was interested in the item I would have messaged you simple as that...! Your original ad was worded in such a way it was very open to interpretation. The whole reason Macks exists is to help our members/community in their decision making when buying second hand RIFS... the fact you have now changed your advert is good. The thread has served it's purpose... End of Story!

  8. yeah that does make figuring things out a lot easier.

  9. thing is it's the buyers perspective. it's what people see when they look at that ad. for example i'll walk you through my thought process as i look at that ad: it's an evo, a gun that is known to be a pretty high standard out of the box and in a lot of cases people who attempt to "upgrade" the base tend to end up making it a lot worse. so the first question is what bits are in it? are they better than standard? well i don't know because it doesnt say in the ad. the next question is have the parts been assembled correctly? well that comes down to the skill of the tech, as there's no big name drop of a professional tech (eg if you'd paid someone like negative airsoft or the like to do the work) then the assumption is that you've done the work yourself. so how can i assess your personal competence as a tech? well i haven't got much to go on as i don't know you personally or your reputation. so the only thing i can really go on is the ad itself. of course as i mentioned, if the effort hasn't been put into the ad then it begs the question has the effort been put into the gun? and with a lack of information it's just human nature to assume the worst. this isn't meant to be insulting btw, this is meant to be constructive criticism, to point out where people who might otherwise be very interested in buying might change their minds and decide that maybe grabbing a brand new gun that comes with a warranty and they know will perform to a given standard is the safer option.

I'm looking forward to this build... I'm still sitting here patiently waiting for their L119A2 MWS kit, but the Hao kits seem really well made 👍

I'm going to order the black version along with FDE accessories, intending to go for a 'Clay Spenser' inspired build based on the rifle he uses in 'Seal Team' Something like this but not a boring Systema... 😂 https://thereptilehouseblog.com/2019/03/02/seal-team-clay-spenser-inspired-416-dmr-build/amp/ So a quad rail with a 14.5" barrel which means I'll also be getting Hao's barrel extension kit along with a few other bits.

  12. That is a fair point, maybe put this down as a lower mid range dream? So he wants folk to contemplate skipping the known high performing quantity that is a standard evo for one with upgrades that may or may not have actually improved the gun without listing what said upgrades are?

@RMDavis oh lord... I will follow your posts closely because I want to do the same thing when I get the funds together. Are you going for the FDE or black version?

Thanks mate, I hope so! From what I have read there's a few external parts needed like a stock and a grip which of course are down to personal preference. Internally the inner barrel and hop unit are used, and everything inside the lower receiver including the buffer and spring. Looks like forward assist is used also. I will try and get plenty of photos up before, after and during the build.

  16. I'm sure that's quite possibly part of it, but it's likely a lot of the price was down to the fact they would have had (maybe) a couple of hundred made and tiny production quantities like that are going to incur very high prices. If anyone has the inside track at RW and knows different for a fact I'd be interested to hear it, but the aforementioned is the general rule in manufacturing.

  19. I have been playing in really cold temps, -2° with snow covering the gun at points. My Sniper Mechanic Flamingo bucking has been pretty crap in the cold, I cannot recommend. I switched the rubber back to a 65° Modify X and saw a great improvement. I also recently switched from MAPP to Guarder Power Up black gas, and am otherwise running a RA Tech black NPAS, 303/6.02mm inner, TM nozzle, HAO lightweight bolt, SixG nub and HSB, with GG modded mags, and .32 Geoffs. After being outside for hours and covered in snow I am seeing a minimum of 1 joule, around 270 fps on the .32's. Inside my house my chrono is saying 380 ish on a .20, so around 1.3 J. I am really impressed with the Guarder black gas. Are there any other softer buckings I can try to help with the consistency of shots? My first few shots after not firing for a few minutes weren't great, and I was finding I had to apply several more clicks of hop than usual. Having said that, I was firing the MWS from an elevated position down into a valley and getting hits from miles away. I was having to burn through mags, but after a few ranging shots I was getting solid hits at well beyond 60 metres. I'm very impressed, although it's still tricky going up against open day skirmish 300 bb hi cap spray and pray merchants.

  20. Very nice WWII gear pics here! Hope it's ok to just post gun-pics aswell, as I don't play or reenact, just collect I'll start with one of the very few non-airsoft modelguns in the collection: Shoei FG42 late version. If you ever get the opportunity to get your hands on one of these, take it! They re superbly built and incredibly nice collector's pieces. Had 2 of them for a while, the one without scope is sold by now. The one with scope has a very rare real ZF4 with even rarer, highly professionally reproduced Krieghoff mount rings made of steel.

  24. Brexit was cooked up by Tory backbenchers like Rees-Mogg to protect their investments from the upcoming EU tax evasion laws. It was never about independence or taking back control.

  25. TBH, i have found price differences on the polish sites of AEG's to be regulary at least £20 to £30 cheaper than a UK seller. In some cases £100 cheaper. Also, you know brexit was a good idea when business people who were pro-leave do this... https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/brexiteer-billionaire-jim-ratcliffe-moves-his-land-rover-production-to-eu-nj3fkckkk Clearly they were only in on it to make more money, or dont actually care about 'made in britain'

  27. There will no doubt be a few weeks of disruption and then things will settle back down. After the economic upheaval of covid I dont really think Brexit is going to be too bad in the grand scheme of things

  28. Problem is, many UK retailers use the likes of TaiwanGun (AKA Krakman) in a wholesale capacity - UK prices will likely go up as well.
