    How you started

I was born in Izhmash factory in Russia. Thirteen year old capitalist order Russian Sniper on dark web and Sergei arrive in box. Thirteen year old not happy with this, he leave me at site. Now Sergei make living as professional soft air marksman. Jokes aside, I think I was aware of airsoft from a young age due to scoutthedoggie's youtube channel, I'd had a JG bar10 for my 11th birthday without knowing about forums, it broke so I binned it, turned out to be the trigger sear. Then got a TM colt python for my 13th. fast foward to when I was 16, I had some extra money, thought I'm big enough now to go to one of these sites by myself and see if I like the game. Long story short spent £500 or so on gear before I'd even been, turned up at site, loved it, decided I wanted a loadout based on a real unit, sold all my stuff then spent over a grand to get where I am now, which is as usualy, inbetween bloody loadouts lol.

  3. I got a guy in the back of the neck, elevation was adjusted for a different range, left a massive blood blister. He didn't freak out, just came shook my hand and said good shot, but next time shoot someone else . I have massive respect for him, most others would freak and not be a good sport or calm stall. Absolute legend

You don't even need him to be frank. Go to any high street optician and get a free test (or use your current prescription) then go to pretty much any online reglazing shop and send in your inserts. Plenty of companies do inserts for loads of their goggles - I use ESS V12s. I think with the goggles, inserts and scratch resistant/anti-glare, thin lenses I paid about 80 quid. All in all it took about 20 minutes of clicking to do online. 1. Find some goggles you like the look of 2. Find inserts that fit them (the majority of the top brands make their own for their goggles and glasses and they cost about £10-20) 3. Send off the inserts to a re-glazing shop like GlassesDirect with your prescription attached 4. Wait for the post to arrive (mine took a week) I too went to Tactical optician, but I didn't like the selection of goggles and thought many to be rather overpriced. It's a professional service I'm sure, but reglazing frames isn't rocket science, and so long as you've got your pupillary distance as a part of your prescription (which all highstreet retailers will provide to you if you need it, and you can even do it yourself if required) then you'll be golden and save a bunch of cash. Couldn't be happier with mine. Haven't had a single issue with them.

  8. You back from your break/hols then..... yup ebay is getting worse n worse - even genuine sellers like yourself also genuine private sellers are up against it against scammers You can't have private listings, you are limited against blocking bad bidders/buyers and the few limits you may impose eg: negative feedback not more than 2 strikes in last 6 months (in a word not much to stop time wasters n scammers etc...) How do the tossers get around this and bid/buy your genuine working stuff saying it is faulty/damaged/not as described etc.... easy create a NEW account without any negative or strikes on it - you can't block a zero bidder/buyer I had 2 muppets try their luck a year ago and just stopped selling coz of agro and ebay does f*ck all except invoices you their fees the seller alone has to defend tooth n nail his own integrity - long story but ebay is flawed in a number of ways for sellers and it is getting worse not better.... Ebay bought out Yahoo auctions ages ago and since then there is very little that comes close to the worlwide money making machine Hopefully decent sellers can continue to trade on, wording their stuff very carefully with all big disclaimers etc as ebay are blind as f*ck Hope so coz having decent sellers on there does make it so much easier to find and buy our airsoft stuff & other bits n bobs

  9. I know this is a bit different but, once when we were playing woodland airsoft next to a paintball field a paintballer suddenly got lost and joined our game by accident, which resulted in some people getting covered with paint. He then realised and went back to paintball

  12. Correct. I used Glasses Direct but there are many others out there. You will need a hard copy of your prescription (in the form it was given to you by Specsavers or Boots or whoever). The instructions are here. You'll get your prescription back as soon as they authenticate it (which only takes a few days). There are loads of them. The V12s were issued to British troops but in true MOD style I imagine far too many sets were ordered. You can find them in various conditions between £10-25. Something like this set* comes with the interchangeable lenses. As for the inserts, you want the ESS VICE RXs; they can be had for about £10 from here*. Additionally, don't worry about removing the sample lenses from the ESS inserts - they'll do that for you. In fact, it's safer if you don't as they'll maintain their shape in the post. *Please do your own searching too. I only spent 2 minutes finding those listings and they may not be the best option.

    How you started

Tried to get others to go with me, but they always had an excuse when it came to booking so just went on my own in the end. Felt a bit weird turning up there on my jack and the site didnt really go out of their way to help beyond the basic rental safety brief, so I asked the organiser if they could introduce me to someone who would show me the ropes for my first game, so they did. Dont think he was overjoyed at having a newbie asking stupid questions of him, but he did help. I found that if you dont put yourself about, people will just cluster in their teams or with their regular game buddies and leave you to your own devices. As said before, if you chat to people, especially other players there on their own, they will open up. Guns and kit always being a conversation opener. Once I persevered and played there two or three times, people started to get more friendly. In hindsight I think they get a lot of one time only rentals looking for a day out, so they dont get too excited until you show some commitment. Also, because Im a mature player, somebody told me later that they thought I was a journalist writing about the evils of airsoft at first so were a bit wary about saying too much until they sussed me out - go figure !

    Inner barrel dimensions

6.01 is good for short range accuracy. 6.03 is the most common barrel width for outdoor use. expensive barrels 6.05 barrels are best for longer range

  17. I tried paintball a few times but wasnt a big fan then a friend asked me to go to airsoft. I thought it was going to be a bit crap to be honest. Unfortunately I caught the bug, now I go once or twice a month depending on commitments. I actually find it less hassle to play on my own and quite regularly bump into other players I know now anyway. Forget your friends just go on your own you will still enjoy it.

    Hi Guys!

Welcome to the forums, plenty teams out there, sure you'll find one at local skirmish sites! She's right you are a bit sad, but we all are, and we're comfortable with this so keep on shooting each other with toy guns

    How you started

I started off by going with a mate but he turned out to be useless so I just went on my own a few times, got my site membership and then met some new people that I still play with now. As Kurtz says it's easy to just turn up on your own, personally I had to really push myself to do it but i'm glad I did. Most people are cool despite what some whiney threads on various Airsoft Forums suggest and as you all have a common ground it's easy to strike up conversations.

    How you started

I started with a bunch of friends; we went to a paintball event for friends stag-do, this prompted us to chip in together for some shit bb guns to fire around friends land. When it came to going to airsoft skirmishes, I had and still have issues persuading friends; cost, sparing the time and fear/apathy. Is hard for those with family to escape for a whole day Sunday and most have other hobbies etc they'd rather spend the missus's agreement on. Or they're lazy single bums who don't wake up to midday on weekend. And also having heard my tales of how seriously (often hilariously) people take airsoft, most consider it to be a more uneven match than turning up for paintball (rarely get regulars with own kit). And they don't want to do it if they'll suck compared to the majority as this will result in them getting shot lots with guns 1.5 times more powerful than the plastic crap we messed around with, and probably not have much fun if they're getting their ass-kicked. So I've been doing it on my own, have couple mates who keep promising to go sometime... Seems reasonably common people turn up on their own, most seeming to have made their airsofting friends there rather than prior. The atmosphere is usually very welcoming at skirmish sites You don't have to wait for friends to do it, it's perfectly and commonly possible to do it solo. Just keep telling your mates it's awesome and sooner or later one will join (i hope)

  24. I personally have up with the glasses/goggle combo after finding out that mesh distorts my vision and plastic caused unbelievable fogging. I now have a pair of ballistic eyeshields (ess cross series) with a prescription insert. Got the lot from Andy at Tactical Optician and would recommend his services in a heartbeat. Just give them the fairy liquid treatment the night before a game and forget that fogging is even a thing

  25. Seems like a good idea, until you get a dude sitting with an open AEG gearbox on his hairy naked lap. And if you're guiding people through repairs, you'll encounter many people who it's beyond their ability, not in knowledge, but in co-ordination. When they snap something in half with their fat fingers while your guiding them, it'll be you they blame and you'll suffer a tantrum in some manner, on the spot or in review. Perhaps you-tube videos created/tailored to request would be a good way to start and gauge how much demand there is and good practice for you, so if you ever get as far as guiding people live, you wont be stumbling/stuttering.

  26. I always leave the key in the door myself, whether it be the front or back door. our conservatory is glass doors and i leave the key in that as well. Don't see the problem with leaving it in. I defo do it with my front door at night cos if some cheeky fooooker did the old millennium burglary on me then least they couldn't get into my house so easily but just take my car. If anyone knows what i mean.

  28. Think maybe someone is taking the game with TOY guns a bit serious. 😯Bit too heavy for me just want to run around like an idiot and have a laugh. But each to their own. Dont hate call of duty hate simulations that make people believe its just like the real thing while sitting in their chair dunking their digestives in their cup of tea.

I'm a Royal Mail PPI customer so things are a little different for me but unless I'm mistaken you have to pay extra for either "signed for" or "tracked" (both are different) otherwise your parcel won't get logged or tagged. What was the value of the transaction if you don't mind me asking and when did you send it out? One thing you could do is give his local sorting office a call and ask politely if they have it in their stores or if someone collected it (not 100% sure they give out the last part but worth a shot). Paying £1.10 for Signed For doesn't ensure you won't be ripped off and won't insure you for more than £20, but at least it gives you some protection against possible scammers Hope you get it sorted though buddy :-)

  38. Should set some traps, that crack-head aint gonna be able to sell your xbox while half his legs left in a bear-trap hehe Saw episode of QI going on about darwin awards. Was one guy who spent a decade booby-trapping his house as he was paranoid & convinced someone was messing with it/him. Eventually he was found dead from one of his traps, but it was dubious as to whether he'd triggered it mistakenly or deliberately! I myself have had a warehouse smart-water system trigger by mistake and i was unable to go anywhere with UV light without looking like a smurf.

  39. From a feral burgling crackhead perspective; unless they've targeted a house specifically, they'll be on the snoop. You are correct in that the keys in the door wont help gain entrance at all, but it does display an amount of carelessness that will make a potential burglar hope-full that there's lots of other keys and valuables left lying around in spots of convenience rather than locked away securely or at least tidied to the extent where it's hard to find. I've known a few people who turned to the dark-side and a couple who made it back. their tales of crack thievery point towards opportunism, and keys in the door will seem like a good opportunity even if it isn't
    1 point
  40. I don't know about you but I'd still open the door with the key. Easy in and easy out. I wouldn't fancy climbing though a smashed window and then having to climb out again with your expensive toaster in one arm as I could cut myself and leave DNA and if its a full pane of glass guaranteed that you'll end up tripping on it. Don't make the mistake of thinking most criminals are stupid (some are!) Do your best to make it as difficult as you can for them and chances are someone 3 doors away won't have and they'll get done instead.
