  1. What, no partridge in a pear tree?

  2. I have tried twisting it both ways, with tape around the outer barrel and then mullgrips to secure it and screwdriver through the compensator to rotate and it’s just twisting the tape around on the barrel… if I have been tightening, it’s going to be tight now 😂

  3. https://prefired.co.uk/ads/el-aks74u-aeg-with-mods-and-original-parts-to-return-to-stock-if-needed/ Struggling to see where the justification for the £600 price tag. Considering it an E&L Essential with some unspecified brand of internal "upgrades" which consist of a hopup and tight bore inner barrel, and replica Zenitco parts Also the proof of ownership paper looks to be photoshop in so could be a scammer.

  4. This links into something that sparked a conversation recently. We play a game and therefore don’t have the real life worries of being wounded or killed - we just pop back up again following respawn I played CQB a couple of months ago, and the end result was a battered body with a large grin. During one of the games I was lasting a matter of seconds - running in the door and mostly getting shot, turn around back to the door, compose myself, gather a handful of players and repeat with the objective of trying to get a couple of us through Contrast this one extreme with the other extreme when I first played events over 15 years ago Respawn was at either end of the field: Game on Two teams meet in the middle You get eliminated Walk all the way to the back of the field, then return to the middle I quickly became very adverse to being shot, and unless needing to reload etc via the safe zone then there’s the temptation to walk back a bit then turn back in game Put in appropriate game rules for spawns etc and I think that takes away one motivation for cheating (some people will cheat anyway) At one of our events we tried out a medic rule with punch cards Players had the choice of putting their hand up and walking to a respawn point (a marshal within a reasonable distance) Or laying on the ground calling for a medic Instead of most medic spawns I’ve seen with the medic staying close enough to combat but trying to preserve themselves I was watching medics crawl almost to the brink of a ridge to punch the card of eliminated players We found it successful and a useful tactic for faction leaders, but something we have only used the once to keep it for certain circumstances

  5. Agreed, although I can't suppress the low moaning sounds when I get a sniper headshot.

  6. You need to buy a gas blow-back rifle then. Lots of parts that are real-steel interchangeable, beautiful clacky bolt mechanism, decent trigger response. RECOIL All oily bits, no electrical bits. Realism with every 30 round mag change!

  7. I did some work on my mates car for him and in payment he gave me a pew that I didn't have in my collection..... An Ares Scar L. It didn't work (i knew this, he knows i like playing with them to revive them!) so i got to it. stripped, cleaned, greased, shimmed, confused about this EFCS malarkey, figured it out, chrono'd at 0.6j (0.28g) and wondered why the ambidextrous selector was in a bag in the box.... OH MY GOD. what a faff. No, scratch that, WHAT A MONUMENTAL PAIN IN THE ASS THAT IS!!! Now i have patience. I'm an engineer. things that come apart should go back together (with the odd left over screw of course) but even i gave up with that!! Nightmare job. Anyway. Scar L now 1.1J on a 0.28 and with the help of the internet, firing semi/3 shot. Safe is more of a suggestion on behalf of the selector switch (that ISNT ambi!!!!!) Just thought i'd vent/share. LOL.

  8. I quite like the programmer, although I recently had to wire it to Deans. Changing the VZ58 to Deans delivered an unexpected bonus; the Deans connectors are just the right size to keep the three battery cells in exactly the right places to make refitting the handguard simple, rather that the nightmare it was before.

  10. Video games I think have influenced the die alot thing. Death in games is very gradual now, mistakes cost less. I used to play roguespear years ago with some military online buddies, 2 shots and you were dead, crippled and then dead. Loved it. I think the player base, getting younger with Thier experience of the world was bound to change things...that's ok. Gotta adapt or spectate

  15. The last time I had to use a stock pot filled with recently boiled water. Took about ten minutes of soaking. Also quite a few goes with a wrench. Whoever put the threadlock on it was very generous. Something like certain M4s are very easy to remove the front end and separate the outer barrel from the rest. Imagine the Scorpion will not be a similar case. Take your time and try not to get frustrated. Easier said than done admittedly. Good luck with it.

  16. I had a similar situation not that long ago I boiled the kettle and poured the hot water over the offendingly stuck part, only took a few seconds for the heat to radiate through the part that was stuck and with little effort it unscrewed. Obvs, if you attempt this, have the rif pointing downwards over the sink to stop water going up and into your barrel

  17. It may be threadlocked on, try heating it up and then try remove it

  18. Germany certainly. They are very stringent. Honestly it's not worth the hassle, you should sell them before leaving the country. You need to satisfy the laws of any country you travel to.

  19. There have been a few threads on the same subject recently, so a search will give you more detail, but the recommendations will be around Cyma (lots of choice) Specna Arms (lots of choice) Double Eagle (yes, really!) m904/m906/m908 With your budget you could also go with Novritsch SSR4, or be a guinea pig and try one of the Rossi's which look interesting, or the new Delta Armoury guns currently touted at Patrol Base - which seem reasonably priced but no idea how good they are! Don't forget some good eye pro, decent boots, extra mags (I love my Lonex flash mags), and a bit of webbing to carry your kit on...

  20. I'd say yes and no. There have been quite a few changes where newer tech is slowly adopted, such as lipos and mosfets, but they're nowhere near essential and nothing touted as a game changer has remotely been anything like one

  22. Latest arrival Not much info regarding these online, and YT videos are very old and scarce Im pleasantly surprised with the build quality of the TM plastics and more metal than I had expected. Still to be tested as my batteries are deans and I don’t want to change this at all. more a collectors piece than skirmishable, but it will get an outing one day The few YT videos out there show partial markings, this has full “UZI” on the receiver, probably something to do with different markets, but didn’t think that TM bothered with that stuff

  25. I've no experience with them, but you've done the right thing by not opening it up, I'd recommend you email patrol base & then follow it up with a phone call, if they recommend anything other than returning it, ask them to confirm their advice via return email, & should it still have an issue, insist on a full return for refund or exchange, depending on what YOU want. Unfortunately vorsk aren't known for qc, so it could be a one off lemon, or a generic issue with them ?

  30. Valid points and it seems like a lot rests on the shoulders of the event holders. Knowing when and how to modify their games to adapt to a changing client base and tech. Speaking of changing tech... what's the MWS like overall? Is QC up to the usual Marui standards?

  31. I've seen sites not consider this and it's broken what would have otherwise been a great game. If the punishment for being hit is too great, the desire to shake that one of is too great and it can ruin games. Also seen it go the other way. Gunman have a field medic pack, so you have a hard respawn, all the way at the back so it can be a bit of a trek......but the field medic pack can be placed anywhere, the downside is it can also be destroyed by the enemy if it's too close/obvious etc.

  34. Yep I had a TM recoil after having a ghk gbbr. Loved my ghk but the mags at the time I had for the ghk were a pita and the cold weather performance was too inconsistent. Thought the ngrs was the next best answer but I found it sterile compared to gbbr, the ngrs got shelved. I stuck to my TM gbb pistols for the past 10 odd years and never missed a beat for me no hpa needed, not sure what's up with your px4 but not sure hpa is the answer. I've since got me an mws, only been out one game so far but I do like it.

  37. Even as stripped to components Germany is bloody awful and requires loads of paperwork. I wouldn't fuck about with Turkish plod. If anything goes wrong... Post to Russia via Royal Mail is still fine. Take the things apart and declare as parts, but you've no insurance if it all goes wrong. Russia Start date: 28 February 2022 Latest Update: 26 June 2023 End date: Ongoing Incident: Service availability Latest Update We are still despatching postal items to Russia. We are continually monitoring the situation and will provide an update if there are any changes to our service moving forward.

  40. Don't get me wrong guys, I absolutely love the fact that there are new and more mods available! We run around with fake guns, chasing each other, shooting plastic BBs for pete's sake... if anyone takes this hobby too seriously they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. It's all about enjoying yourself and having fun, and to do that you have to be able to respect the fact that everyone is different and will express themselves the way they choose. If it were up to me, every gun would operate as close to the real version as possible, just for the sheer kick of it, not because I'm a "realist". If there are any mods that will help me to achieve that, I'm all for it. I think it's brilliant that "tinkerers"are forming companies and inventing products so that we have options to enjoy ourselves a bit more. I think everyone should modify there guns in some way, whether that's internally or externally. Make it your own. I could care less whether I win every mission on skirmish day or lose all of them... as long as I have a blast, I'm happy. I'm strictly there to run around, shoot shit up and have fun😂. Milsims, I take a bit more seriously but only because of the structure of it. I love the side missions and splitting up into teams to accomplish them. Saying that though, I am no solider, nor do I want to pretend to be one. I'm strictly there to have a good time. Never go backwards mate! Give me all the new goodies! All the next gen recoil shock, gas blowback, mosfets, brushless, lipo goodies!🤣 it works better, trust me it does. Don't think so? Have a chat with someone who races RC cars. And with regards to HPA-ing my pistol... if there were a better system of running compressed air, I would try that instead. Yes, the attached cord is off putting but as it stood, I ran my AEG 95% of the time to 5% on the pistol... I just want to be able to enjoy running a pistol a bit more. Propane gas was always so meh. Gotta give hpa a try! It's either that or sell my PX4 and buy an MP5K HC😜.

  43. Rain X for the front of the scope, and an antifog for the lens at the back (I use 'cat crap') - it has made a difference for me. Also I was realising that most fogging was down to my heavy breathing misting it up, so now I make a bit of a conscious effort to not breath all over my scope, inc. holding my breath when I bring the rifle up to the aim etc.

    Tell Us a Gag. Please!

An old Finnish joke about the Winter War: A large group of Russian soldiers in the border area in 1939 are moving down a road, when they hear a voice call from behind a small hill: "One Finnish soldier is better than ten Russians". The Russian commander quickly orders 10 of his best men over the hill where a gun-battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence. The voice once again calls out: "One Finn is better than one hundred Russians." Furious, the Russian commander sends his next best 100 troops over the hill and instantly a huge gun fight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence. The calm Finnish voice calls out again: "One Finn is better than one thousand Russians!" The enraged Russian commander musters 1000 fighters and sends them to the other side of the hill. Rifle fire, machine guns, grenades, rockets and cannon fire ring out as a terrible battle is fought... Then silence. Eventually one badly wounded Russian fighter crawls back over the hill and with his dying words tells his commander, "Don't send any more men... it's a trap. There are two of them!"
