Initial findings are very nice. Light as hell, but the mag wobbles a lot. Gaming with it this coming week. I’ll let you know. UPDATE Just programmed the etu and put it through the chrono. Programming was super easy and quick to do. Literally a combination of selector switch turns and trigger pulls. On the chrono it is a very steady 309 fps on .2's. 40 shots fired and a total of 4 fps deviation. This is my first pdw style rif, but so far I'm very impressed with quality and the etu. Game day (cqb) on Tuesday evening, so will report back then.

  4. Today was my second visit to Splatoon, near Wickford in Essex. This is a classic paintball site that also holds regular airsoft days. The day started very late as there were far more players that the organisers expected, some of whom arrived at the last minute; I would have started the day without them and let them join the second game but I am not a site owner. We started off with a simple domination game, which did not start until 10:50(!); teams had to turn each of three spinners spread across the site; to their colour to show their dominance of each area. I spent most of the game in the top field, which has a lot of structures made of containers, old cars and two helicopters at opposite ends of the field. We were coming from the slightly more difficult end of the field and, despite reaching the spinner on two occasions, did not manager to have it on our colour for long enough. We lost the game 2-1 as our colleagues in one of the other fields did rather better. After a spell in the safe zone to mag up, we went out for a game of fallback; the attackers, who regened on a marshal, had to clear three zones in a particular order, being unable to attack the next zone until they had cleared the previous one; once they called clear, a time penalty of 30 seconds was imposed for each surviving defender in that zone. Defenders had one life in each zone. After clearing the three zones, they them had to enter the fourth zone and get a player to the grey helicopter. We were the defenders and did a good job of slowing the enemy's advance; in the second zone, I found a great position on our right flank, where I was able to take out a number of attackers who were trying to outflank us, before eventually getting potted when they broke through the centre. In the next zone, which contained the black helicopter, our defence held for some time until the enemy eventually punched through, forcing us back into the final zone to defend the grey helicopter. Again, I found a nice flanking position, just inside the woods, from where I was again able to take out a number of the enemy. I heard one of them telling his mates exactly where I was, so I changed position and shot them as they attempted to assault my previous position. Eventually, I was hit but, while starting to walk back to the safe zone, the enemy's attack timed out. We then broke for lunch (nice veggie burgers!), during which I received a message from the lad telling me that the team of which he was 2i/c and navigator had completed Cambrian Patrol, being awarded silver; I am a very proud father. Clearly, all those summers on Dartmoor helping him learn to navigate had some impact. After lunch, we took over the attacking role in the fallback game, clearing the first two zones rather rapidly after deciding that it was better to take a couple of 30 second time penalties rather than waste five minutes searching for a couple of Bush Wookies. The third stage was a lot slower as just getting into the field and past the black helicopter is quite tough. Eventually, through teamwork and some great use of pyro, we forced our way into the final zone, getting players to the grey helicopter with about 90 seconds remaining. After another quick mag up, we played a game where our team, starting in the woods, had to get a VIP to either of the helicopters; if the VIP was hit, the game ended, so we decided to leave him at the rear with a couple of bodyguards while we got on with launching a diversionary attack on the black helicopter and, slightly later, the main attack on the grey helicopter. We had infinite lives respawning on a marshal while the defenders had three lives in the top field. I have no idea what the outcome was as I was involved in the diversionary attack on the black helicopter, which was great fun, especially storming one of the building complexes with pyro. Despite the late start, it was a really good day, with well thought out games and effective marshalling from a professional but friendly team. THE TM MWS thread

Silent fill valve o-rings removed and fill tubes replaced with 7mm ID stainless steel tube, 50mm length from the brass threads. This is a bit less than stock but still gives a good space for the gas to fill above the liquid. The stainless tube is a snug push fit over the alu tube so with some grease and percussive maintenance it goes on and stays on 👍 I filled the mag with ASG beige gas until it spluttered, then tilted and got another 1s worth of fill. Bearing in mind it is quite cool today I was able to fire 140 shots and still have it lock back, the mag was pretty cold by then so I popped it in my pocket for 30sec while I got some BBs and turned on the chrono. It was putting out 230fps on 0.32g and locked back after the 14 shots I fired. Pretty damn amazing! Right, beer o’clock 🍺 “Tell me you know nothing about GBBRs, without telling me you know nothing about GBBRs” 😂

  8. Fun day again today. Only about 40 players , so tactical play was on. Both teams fought very hard, we were 3-0 up when I left, but that was I think down to us working ever so slightly better as a team. Each game was very close. Ran Gas all day, the WE based L119 A2 performed as well as ever, amate used my MP7 and had a blast with it, and the M249 was just so much fun, the noise alone keeps heads down 😂 I left half way through game 4 so I could get home to watch the rugby.

God these things are so much fun to game ! Ran mine today , mags filled to 120 using .30's . Despite it being 'chilly' this morning , it had no issues at all . Got some great kills with it, funniest thing though was watching players run away when you open up 😂 One chap came and found me after the game and sain 'bloody hell that thing sounds terifying' The para stock was a definite improvement in the woods running it short . Love this beast !

  10. Probably 4-5 times a year or so (which is actually more than I was a few years ago). Opportunities where I actually have good access to my own gear and there's a site nearby I'm enthused to play at aren't super common. And honestly, I am lazy, I don't want to have to do my normal washing/ironing/shopping/cleaning one day of the weekend then add on loadout prep and then spend the sunday night washing/airing out/de-prepping airsoft stuff. If I'm honest with myself, I never deliberately 'got in to' airsoft per se even when I started, I just wanted the M4 from a video game I was super in to as a teenager and to have the different barbie accessories for it. At some point in the researching and acquisition of said replica I found out about skirmishes and it only seemed like the logical thing to go along, but the first few I went to were pretty 'meh' experiences overall. Not bad, not amazing. I'd say I force myself to go out now and again to breathe fresh air, run about and actually use all this stuff because if I let the little gremlin in the back of my mind win and I acted like the hermit man it tells me to be, well then it just wouldn't be a good thing overall in my life.

  11. well that esculated quickly.... All the mags I have (DE, GM and TM) all work fine however the gas routers on the DE seem stiffer than the GM router. Might try some GM gas routers in the DE mag to try to make them better. Only internal mod is a Flamingo hop rubber in both. I've got a RA Tech NPAS here which I might pair with a longer inner barrel to try to increase accuracy at range but keep the Joules down.

  12. ASG/KWA MP9R. A loud but tiny package. Might have to look into, somehow, making it quiet but as far as i'm aware, the majority of the noise escapes from the ejection port...

  14. He acknowledges that he made an impulse buy knowing he doesn't like the AK platform yet he wants retail price for a gun where we have no idea where it was stored and for how long? BNIB doesn't mean much for a cheap gun that's not all that collectable. I don't think this fellow knows how to take the loss of making a bad impulse purchase. You misunderstand. He is clearly selling it with the bag of illicit substances he was on.

  15. This should not be on sale, its still a restricted MOD item. All GSR are required to be handed back when leaving service (I know I did with mine recently) therefore this is also stolen military equipment.

Ran mine today too. Got the adjustable valve sorted and it is now firing 1.1j on .28 and VORSK V8 gas (chronoed 0.7j this morning when it was cold, rechronoed at lunch when it warmed up.) Definately need to get some small hand warmers to put in with the tank to help keep it warmer. I did have a few issues with mine today. First I had my red dot shot out 10 mins into the first game. Then throughout the day I found the gas tank connector kept popping out the reciever as I was firing. I was able to pop it back in, but it was really annoying I also broke one of the screws in the clamp for the gas tank (easily fixable) On the plus side though, I got a lot of good kills with it. I managed to take out several enemy players as top gunner on a snatch land rover as it picked its way across the land from our respawn point to one of the objectives on the far side of the land (a bumpy ride, and not very easy to get a decent aim with the fixed stock... I definately need the Para stock) Later I also managed to lay ambush to a small enemy patrol. I heard their voices, so I ducked into a hedgerow to wait for them to approach. When they moved into view, I was able to get all four members of the patrol in one long burst. I had several people complimenting the smoke generator suppressor I have fitted, and had one of the members of the patrol that I ambushed speak to me after the game saying he suspected it was me who got them due to the unique sound of the gun firing and admitted to spending the rest of the game hoping to hunt me down and shoot me with his MOSCART launcher. We had a good laugh, shook hands and I allowed him to have a try with the gun before I unloaded it.

  23. Personally I'd say try the CTM Hi-Capa Holster... https://www.ctmtac.com/en/product/3 ... as these are designed to be used with pistols with all manner of attachments (their AAP-01 version is great). Also if you did buy one make sure to use thread lock on the bolts when you assemble it.

  25. It's a 1:1 copy of the stock A&K hop unit but CNC aluminium. IIRC A&K is a Chinese brand. I managed to find a Prommy purple (just in case I fuck up adjusting the ML hop rubber) and the pack of soft/hard flat nubs for £24. Will be a nice backup and if not needed just sit in my spares until next time That's a nice bit of info going forward, cheers.

  27. Certainly sounds like overspin if you are getting 2 shots with one trigger pull, which is what I am thinking you are describing, instead of 2 bbs per cycle. If you rely on mechanical timing to kill the motor power, and you spin everything faster ( 3S battery ) is keeps going longer until it can compress the spring twice with one trigger pull. Even if it doesn't do it every time the stopping position can creep around until 2 shots happen. Battery is an easy change, Posh Mosfet is a bit more expensive but popular. You can try a 2S Lipo (7.4v) or a 3S Life (9.9v) The other thing that can happen is that the cut of lever can wear at the sector gear end which ends up delaying the trigger reset, resulting in the motor being energised for longer than intended. If your gun is relatively new though this isn't likely. If the gun is short stroked and teeth taken from the release end you alter the cut off timing, effectively removing the load from the gearbox, for example a tooth early, but still energising the motor (off load) which will cut off at the normal time having continued to spin the gear box. The more conservative the build the less likely battery, wear and mods will affect things, but when things are done to decrease the cycle time, that when stuff that normally doesn't matter starts to matter. But battery for sure is a good starting point. 2S to 3S battery is a 50% increase in offload speed, under load...well it depends on how much load and how much current can be supplied.

  28. With no hop applied there is always a possibility to get more FPS out of your gun. And depending on the gas pressure you can have hot guns. I'm sure Abbey Predator/Nuprol 1.0 and similar pressured gases should lower your FPS.

    Hi from France (baguette)

Hello everyone, Greetings from France, so sorry for the mistakes and the bad english. I played my first "airsoft game" 17 years ago if I remember correctly... I owned lots of replicas through years, mostly GBBr and gas powered (G&P WOC, WA M16, GHK AKM, M700 KJW, M870 Tanaka...) but had to sell them to try new things or to get money back, 2019 was a hard year with no job for example so I sold mostly all my replicas. Currently life is going a lot better and I bought news replicas during last months, including "guns" I have been looking for a long time. For example VFC M733 GBBr, Ares L1A1 SLR or VFC KAC SR-16 AEG. But my girlfriend is turning a bit angry because of all the news "guns" I am buying during a short time and storing into my office, she likes airsoft too and plays sometimes with me but she says I have too many replicas. 😅 During the past I worked as a props maker / production designer, and costumes maker. I then went back to school to study traditional and digital illustration, I try to draw with a little Wacom tablett with Photoshop. So my other hobbies (beside drawing and watching movies, things lots of peoles do) includes model kits, mostly 1/72e WWII vehicles and planes, some movie / video games editing or roaming around doing silly stuff Online with friends on GTA, Minecraft, MudRunner or Garry's Mod. So yes, as you can tell, I am a nerd. I registered here because I found some very interesting replicas in the "Classified" part of the forum, that are very difficult to find in France. See you later on the forum 👋

  41. Here's my MP7, I've used it for a couple of games and am loving it so far. Couple of external attachments but have yet to tinker with the internals. I do worry about common issues such as nozzles and backplates cracking but have had no issue yet, so am wondering if I should get spares handy or are there worthwhile upgrades/fixes? Anyways, I carried out a few tests on the chrono and here are my results. I was surprised to see a gain of around 25fps when increasing the hop-up from off to fully on. I expected it to decrease due to the friction but I imagine it actually creates a better airseal therefore more FPS? I confirmed this with my MWS too. Also to note ASG Ultrair gave around 15fps lower compared with Nuprol 2.0 so that is handy to know if you chrono above 350 on a hot day this summer. I will be carrying out some range testing this weekend with a range of BB weights from .2g to .4g so will report back on that!

  43. Unfortunately it's deleted as of this morning because it sold but £100 for a skirmished DB Polymer BYP-02B (AKS-74N) because extras, those being another mag, sling and 2 batteries or perhaps only £75 brand new with warranty and no worries. Tried an offer and the seller's son did not want to go below £100 even for just the replica. Feel sorry for whoever went for it as they probably didn't know better... https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/double-bell-ak47u_i52430 https://www.brairsoft.co.uk/product/double-bell-aks74n-aeg/
