Setting hops on these WE GBBR this morning , the mk12 has surpassed expectations , semi auto locked & 350fps on .32 it’s shooting very nicely indeed changed the lower over on the mk18 for a trade marked version so gave that a good run and it’s equally ticking my boxes . Mine has the TNT kit in it and it's ridiculous. Can sail .32s out to between 50 - 60m with some accuracy, which is really useful for me when I run a bolt action; give me a bit of a punch when on the move or if I'm detected.2 points

Upgrading AEG
ak2m4 and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
Its one of g&g's old versions of blowback. It uses a pneumatic cylinder mounted on top of the gearbox, air from the main cylinder (the one pushing the bb out the barrel) bleeds off through a rubber seal into the blowback cylinder causing it to push the visual gubbins attatched to it to look like it's cycling and simulate "recoil". The issue is that it adds a whole bunch of places where air from the cylinder can escape, which is bad for a consistent muzzle velocity and by extension accuracy (which is as necessary as raw power for good effective range). The symptom will be a wide range of fps figures when firing a few shots through a chrono and vertical dispersion of shots in-game. The good news is its possible to de-activate it by removing the rubber seal and replacing the stock cylinder for one without a vent hole. Its probable a spring change may be necessary, i suspect the spring is a bit meatier than strictly necessary to maintain velocity whilst also powering the recoil system, last one i worked on had other issues so i can't be sure the spring was the proper power level.2 points -

If a shop told me that I'd definitely be pushing for a full refund on principle. They didn't send you what you ordered so legally should replace it with the gun you did order at no expense to you but (I'm guessing here) can't be arsed and want to fob you off with bullshit excuses.2 points -

If you didn't have overspin, I presume it's feeding twice or somesuch, before you put the MOSFET in, but you do have it afterwards and that's the only thing you have changed, that's very odd. Even if the AB is not working just adding a MOSFET shouldn't cause it on its own. Are you using the same battery as before?1 point

Assuming the col etc is functioning as intended, it is possible that a weaker motor might struggle to brake effectively. Yep, the exact breed of intermediate mosfet that i tend to advise people reconsider as active braking alone in a gun that doesnt need it can have a nasty habit of stopping the box too soon and causing lockups. That said, the op has evidently dodged that particular bullet. Definately the better move. For budget conciousness anything without active brake will do, i'm a fan of the nanoasr as it shares wiring with the warfet making for an easy upgrade path but that's mostly personal preference. For function concious you want at least an ab++/warfet with adjustable precocking In between those i dont see much point, either you cant turn off the ab which might make the gun unusable, or you can turn it off in which case you could save money and get the cheaper option.1 point -

I love it honestly. I was looking at slapping in one of the TNT Studios kits but they appear to be sold out almost everywhere in the standard 143mm length barrel and I don't want to go for a longer barrel as I like how short this is.1 point -
That's a weird one. The higher current flow through a MOSFET might encourage overspin, but as you say, that one is specifically designed to prevent it. The PicoAAB doesn't have any programming, right, it's just fit-and-regret? I don't suppose "Fit a Perun AB++ instead" is going to be a popular option?1 point

A well tuned aeg will work just as well as a hpa setup for semi, as they should be imparting the same amount of energy into the small balls we play with. Unless you are specifically after wanker gun rates of fire or play at sites with differences in limit which would mean constant changing of springs, when turning down a reg is easier, there isn't much to gain. Cost wise if you sent you rif to a solid tech, negative airsoft say, you could have the performance you want for no more than the parts of the hpa build cost. If you do go hpa then regards the line, when I've used hpa setups I used molle mounted single point slings and then ran the line looped or sleeved with it. Just give yourself enough slack in it so that it doesn't interfer with griping the rif. With the line sleeved it didn't catch on anything i wasn't going rhe catch the sling on anyway.1 point -

Working on making a hk21 machinegun out of an old jg g3. The handguard is nearly done but I still need to make the outer barrel and barrel swap handle. Then its onto makeing an adapter to make the magwell look like its belt fed. Planning to make a snap in piece that I can attach a modified cmag to with a box around it. Should be able to just pull the adaptor and switch to using normal mags just fine if I need. not going for 100% accurate. Im going for the overall look with a few quality of life things like picatinny for a foregrip and bipod.1 point -

As one of the GIs in the Cajun Chicken game over the weekend I concur that we had as much fun "dealing with the locals" as they seemed to have hunting us down. I played both days and I really enjoyed Sunday even though numbers were down, as everyone was committed to the gameplay and we had some cracking firefights and hilarious encounters. The theme really stands out and top marks to the Louisiana State Troopers and FBI for looking the part and who all added an extra dimension not normally seen in other games. I also have to give credit to the Cajun fighter who ambushed our patrol on Saturday, when we were brining in two prisoners, managing to take down three of the GIs with a hunting rifle before being mown down by one of the squad leaders. And I confess we did have fun waiting for @Tactical Pith Helmet to return to rescue Mrs TPH, resulting in him being wounded and then turned over to the law for questioning. The number of Cajuns who pleaded they were only out "duck-hunting" with assault rifles also made me chuckle. The final battle was so intense, it was a miracle we made it back to base with evidence of the locals' crimes, and goes to show that even with a few players you can have great fun. Definitely a game to recommend.1 point -
(Interim) South East/London UKAPU Player Representative
Jedi_Master reacted to Asomodai for a topic
Hello all. Apologies in advance for being brash enough to consider this "Latest News" worthy ? I am unsure that it was a sensible decision but beyond all logic I have been voted in as the new UKAPU South East/London Rep. I have been a member of UKAPU since around the time of the Pandemic, they helped me with issues importing a RIF and I bought into a gold tier membership soon after and I have been committee "adjacent" for a little while. Most of you on the forum probably know me by now! I had taken a back seat in terms of the forum recently due to the personal circumstances (Divorce, selling all but 6 rifles etc!) But I am now back for at least a little while until I leave the UK in hopefully a year or so's time. I tend to play in London and the Kent area more these days since moving away from Dagenham and to London bridge. I am here to represent the players in the South East, to give advice about South East sites, listen to your issues, criticisms, complaints and suggestions for the future. I have only just been confirmed into the post and I haven't had the official email address setup so far, but I will update this forum post with those details when I have them. For now if you need anything you can just PM me here. Cheers!1 point -
Can't beat a classic; will probably run this combo this weekend, especially since one of my m14s needs converting to deans connectors before I can use it. I've found myself moving away from gucci rifle wraps and adopting a more realistic approach to camo. Elastic bands for natural veg on the day and making sure nothing interferes with the operating parts of the weapon (my expensive wrap has a tendency to obscure the scope picture, leading to me having to manually move parts out of the way). I could paint it, but I don't want to because I love how it looks and don't want to potentially ruin the aesthetic of the mk12. Literally some donor scrim net I got for free held on by cable ties and elastic bands that I will pair with either a £25 uncrafted cobra hood, or my £60 ghillie cape. Don't need to spend out masses to be a bush!1 point

Realised I had the parts to make something interesting. For your consideration: an alt-history Olive Drab AR-15 Dissipator build. Imagine the chopped short M16s from the Vietnam-era became standard issue all the way to the A4 variant. Then make it a lovely military-ish green. Recently a real steel Dissipator (that's an AR-15 with a 16 inch barrel and a full rifle-length gas system) was released for sale by Anderson Arms, and this video popped up on my YouTube feed. I really love the full-length-but-shorter look of a Dissipator, and I think sticking on an A2 handguard and a full stock makes it look a lot more military than the Magpul equivalents I had on it previously. What do you think?1 point

well...this was meant to be a parts gun. I needed the internals for a project but looking at it I thought it could do with a different grip, stock and flash hider, then I thought maybe some accessories, oh and a bit of paint so now it's not a donor gun.1 point -

MWS mostly done. Will eventually replace the repro CTR stock with a real-steel Magpul one and will probably get a Visionking scope for it to replace the Strike Systems one on it at the moment. Might get a 45 degree mount for a red dot for close shooting, but we'll see. Also, with the suppressor off and the stock all the way in, it fits in the smaller rifle pouch of my larger gun bag, so I can take both it and one of my (many) bolt actions in one bag now1 point

They are rare. I've only ever seen one for sale; I bought it and had it modified to 14mm CCW to fit my GHK. Incidentally, I still have the original, unmodified 16mm CW barrel stub from mine - if you want that as a spare, or to put on another AUG or something, just drop me a PM. It was done by cutting a Hephaestus steel outer barrel down - each bit is full steel, including the gas block. S, M, XXL Not sure why I insist on waiting until I'm selling something to take decent pictures of it, but all three bits (the pistol, the light, the holster) of this slice of 2000s Navy SEAL life are sadly for sale.1 point -

Now shoots like a total beast and sounds great too! It was the first time I teched a gun, can't wait to take it to a game next weekend. I... hope this scope doesn't look too big?1 point

The rifle in the vid is the colt model 715. Later known as the C7. I built mine a few years ago with help from Jonathan ferguason. He's helped me out with my 604 too. Got another project he's helped with in the pipe line too haha. Just to bore you about hahaha. The 715 in the video is very unique. It has mainly A2 features. But the upper is odd. It has an A1 rear sight, but has a A2 brass deflector. Also another M16 A2 with the auto selection. Was originally bought by the sas, but is now in use with pathfinders, paras and royal marines. Here's the one I built while back.1 point -

So another British rifle added to the collection. To most its nothing special. "Just another M16vn"..... But here I have started to build a colt model 604. As issued to the British army in the late 60s, early 70s. Now the 604 is something of a Frankensteinian. It's neither a M16VN (XM16) or the later M16A1 (model 602). Main differences are compared to either the xm16 (VN) or the 602 (M16A2). The 604 comprises of a xm16 stock with a pivoting sling mount. Not the static version fitted to the later model 602. It also sports a partial fence. The XM16 was known as a slab side, where the 602 was a Full Fence. It also comes with an A1 barrel but still uses the early 3 prong (duck bill) flash hider. The British version also came with just plain export markings, aswell as being painted black with a paint called Suncorite. Now mine is still a work in progress. Ive had the markings filled. I'm still to source the correct rear sling mount, as well as the chromo smooth fake bolt. I then tried to replicate the suncurite paint best I could. As the real paint was just slapped on. I tried the same but in the pics looks smoother than it actually is. Only other thing is slings. Early version came with AR15 slings. But very quickly guys swapped these out for SLR slings. So will look at that in the future too. Next up. A British colt model 701. To most its just a M16A2.... It is, but not quite. Main difference being, the fire selection. The US issued A2 was colt model 702. Which externally are identical apart from the 702 was 3 round burst. Where the British issued 701 was full auto. Pictured here in use during OP barras in 2000. As far as I'm aware these where only purchased in small numbers, compared to the earlier colt model 715 (C7) which is still in wide use today. With mine, I've replicated the correct export markings along with with the correct "auto" one. Upper is just a standard G&P upper with a real A2 handguard.1 point -
