Just a reminder to all members, this is an appraisal thread only, don't be tempted to chuck cash offers at the op in the hope of getting a cynical bargain, or at least wait until she has provided some up to date pics with a proper username notation within them.

  4. As someone who's done it on this exact make and model, by disassembling and lightly rubbing with brake fluid, I can confirm that it's definitely possible. Of course, I would also argue that the whole process takes something away from that "box fresh" appeal.

  6. Stop giving these cowboys money and maybe... Just maybe they will take a moment and realise how its time to either pack up and call it a day or invest some time in money into marshalls and a decent event. Same reason Brit Tac isnt going to see a penny from my team again. When a 3rd of one side packs up and leaves on day one. Thats a subtle indication.

  7. Did the Gunman Airsoft Night game at Tuddenham.......it was great, easily some of the most interesting events that are happening in airsoft in my opinion at the moment. It's their second attempt at running a night game (3 hours long) as one single game, it wasn't perfect but my god it's got potential and the site is very open to feedback. Previously their night games have been like skirmishes in a small, but interesting part of their site (the village if you know the site). These events take advantage of the whole site, extra buildings, dense woodland, open areas, tracks, ridgelines trench network etc. Single shot only unless you have a genuine LMG/support weapon, relevant medic rules, mix of objectives, regen hikes weren't silly. There was also really good use of additional lightning, a few big floodlights and lots of dark areas, the site is big enough to cope with what they are doing! Objectives were provided, with a map and grid references with times that the objectives were open for. Marshalls were present when needed (generally around objectives) but didn't ruin the night team sneakiness when not. Hit taking was good (night games are tricky to enforce). It seemed like a lot of objectives were near each other at similar times, or in a way that you'd have to cross the route from their respawn to their objectives (which we didn't know) to get to your objectives. Much confusion around who is on your team etc. There was a command net and command element that gave out a couple of extra objectives throughout the evening. It genuinely felt like the best bits of a mini milsim. Mix of players with and without night vision, thermal, some with torches and tracer units etc. Made it a really interesting evening. Some of the players had travelled from Derby and Watford for it. Every other night game they are doing is one of the more immersive types covered above, the others are basically skirmishes in the village. If you're looking to just shoot people in the dark, do the night skirmishes skirmishes, if you want that bit extra, do the more immersive ones. Very impressed with the management at Tuddenham, massive improvements to the site and the type of events they are running. Really upping the experience of what can be done and achieved, the sort of thing I am sure we all want from our sites. Re reading this, it sounds like an advert for the site but I am just a customer, albeit a very happy one.

  8. First skirmish in 10 months (ffs!). I should have been at other sites, but never got off my slightly-fat arse to go try somewhere new. So Special Ops opened up again, and I'm back on the field. I had a selection of new guns to try, so I basically took 'em all, except for the M14. I wish I'd taken that too, but no room in a long gun bag for it AND the sniper rifle, so the sniper got the nod. I made a spreadsheet to try to get a grip on all the bits I needed, and what I could do to check / fettle before the big day (I posted it on another thread, I won't repost here, I look like an OCD loony enough already). That approach actually worked quite well, I remembered everything I needed. However, the sheer quantity of stuff it enabled me to drag along became overwhelming. To cut a long story slightly shorter I had intended to take some time fettling my new VFC GBBR and the Tippmann, but with the very large number of people on site (87 players?) I didn't get around to spending very much time on-range. I ended up firing a few shots with each, didn't really do anything to them, and then concentrated on getting Ol' Faithfull (the magnificent Double Eagle M906C) and the TM AUG HC (shorter range spray'n'pray) ready for combat. So what had been intended to be a major effort to fix my two most expensive (and potentially fun) guns instead became a rush to sort out my kit 'just to play'. This really wasn't helped by the kit overflowing off the one small table I had to set up on. I spent too much shuffling kit on and off to make use of the limited space. Lesson learned : If I'm going to try to sort out a gun or two - just take them, plus the DE My mood took a distinct turn for the worse when someone started firing their gun *on purpose* in the safe zone. As the first shot actually fired a BB that pinged off a tarp very close to me, I very nearly lost my shit. I'm going to draw a veil over what followed, because the chap came over to me and apologised profusely and shook my hand afterwards. He realised he'd messed up big time. Lesson learned for him : just because there's no mag in the gun, doesn't mean the barrel is empty Hmmm. I've typed a lot already and we've not got to the chrono'ing yet The chrono'ing took forever because of the sheer number of people. There were already mutterings of discontent. (I don't suppose I helped, turning up in the queue carrying 3 rifles and a pistol, but I got through it quickly and painlessly) The safety briefing kicked off maybe 30-45 minutes late? Carlos and Will did their usual good humoured job explaining the site rules and splitting the players into teams. Eventually the skirmish kicked off. Zombies game to start, as a warm-up, then onto the normal stuff. The morning was a bit disappointing for me, and by the louder mutterings, quite a few other people. Basically there were just too many players given the limited vegetation cover - so it all bogged down too easily. People got tired of the long treks back to spawn after getting zapped by long shots from unseen players (as much 'too many angles to cover' as 'man disguised as tree with sniper rifle') Those mutterings of discontent got louder and more frequent. I don't think I've hear people complaining at Special Ops before. The good news was that a lot of people left at lunchtime (half-dayers and/or malcontents). Yet the next games didn't go brilliantly either. There was an unfortunate game where the out-of-bounds area was misidentified by a marshal, so a bunch of us were moved from our defensive positions just as we were being attacked in a 'no respawn' phase of a game. That didn't go down well. After that game, a bunch more left, and between the reduced player count, and a different style of game, things got a lot better. I finished the day much happier. I'd got killed (probably mostly by Dan from these forums, including a pistol shot to the back of the head!) an awful lot, and racked up relatively few kills myself, but I left happy enough. (If I'd gone home at lunchtime I would have been very disappointed with the whole experience) Personal highlight of the day : My first attempt at sniping, with my Rossi M40/VSR clone .. first 3 shots = 3 kills at 60m. (I could have had a few more with that but I'd loaded up some of the mags with 0.25's for no sensible reason, and couldn't get the hop adjusted. Also the safety lever kept falling into safe at very inopportune moments, so went back to my AEGs)

@Mummybear Be prepared to post the items, as this will open up your sale to anyone who sees your listing. The safest way I have experienced is using Parcel Force 48 - DONT use PF24! The larger replicas will cost circa £10 to post, the pistol, slightly less I can’t help with the Lancer, as the pics don’t give much away The G36, I shall assume is a Cyma (due to its popularity ), you haven’t said how many magazines are with it….. so let’s say it’s worth in the region of £90 + postage The pistol is a reasonable mid entry level brand, looks boxed with what should be there, I’d say £80 posted Some decent pics with a time stamp in the correct classifieds section will soon see these on their way to their next user. Have a look there for how we do it. I believe you will need a 10 post count to allow you to see the classifieds

  11. Not unless they've updated something? I know the build i had was running a titan with precocking and ab dialed up to "reasonable" (read: excessive) levels and it didnt have any issues. All precocking is for the likes of the warfet/ab++ is just a timer that shuts the motor off a little later than the cutoff lever trips, which you can adjust the timing to get your desired amount of precocking.

  21. Ok so 2 weeks passed and I had the chance to once again test this build now that I had the power where I needed it and the hop up set, and this will likely be my final post on this journey of building the SR-25 (and boy has it been a journey...). The final parts list is as follows: Cyma Platinum cm.098 SR-25 (with foam baffles installed in the suppressor as it comes empty!) ZCI m120 spring ASG Infinity u-18000 Lonex helical bevel & pinion gears ZCI 18:1 SR-25 gears SHS SR-25 nozzle Maple Leaf 70 degree macaron hop rubber Maple Leaf omega nub Prometheus 6.03 509mm stainless steel tightbore Outdoor and Tactical Harris style bipod KAC-style vertical grip Magpul MS4 sling Strike Systems 3-9x50mm scope (relatively high scope mounts to accommodate rifle wrap and ability to still mount back-up iron sights) Run on an 11.1v lipo battery with deans connectors Wrapped in a Sprinter Custom Ghillie multi-season rifle wrap (not getting a picture of it unwrapped because I already wrapped it yesterday and I can't be bothered to remove it!) This has it outputting a VERY consistent 1.05J, with the occasional shot dropping as low as 1.02J, on a .32; 1.05J means no MED, so I don't have to worry about people getting too close! The range and accuracy is phenomenal, easily hitting a man-sized target at 60m 7/10 times even with the hop rubber not bedded in yet as I haven't put enough rounds through it yet. I'm hoping once the hop rubber is bedded in I'll be able to up that to 9/10 shots, but time will tell on that. However, the big thing is that it is quiet for an AEG. While testing it on the range, I got my friend to fire it as I made my way down the range to see how it sounded. By 30m I could barely hear it, by 40m I couldn't hear it at all. I then asked him to do the same, but on full-auto: by 40m I could barely hear it, and by 50m I couldn't hear it at all. Is it as quiet as a HPA gun? No, but it's amusingly close, so I think I'll be keeping it as an AEG as not having the line and tank is pretty liberating. Honestly, I'm pretty damn pleased with it. The only parts I will get for it in the future are some sort of trigger replacement MOSFET, like a Perun, when the stock Cyma one eventually burns itself out, and at the same time I'll swap out the stock ported cylinder for a full cylinder, as my tendency to use heavy BBs alongside the long barrel could probably benefit from such a modification, if only slightly. I also have a ZCI m140 or m150 (it's unlabelled) lying about for if I go to an event where I wish to run it as a DMR, though this will only come once I've done the MOSFET replacement since as it stands this SR-25 build is still capable of full-auto. The m140/150 pushes the power up to a cosy 1.84J on a .4, which is just where I'd want it for a DMR, though I haven't tested range and accuracy on that as my local site's DMR rules are just not worth it (1.64J with a 30m MED; I've written borderline essays elsewhere on this forum on why I think that's a waste of time). Going to run it for a few game days and play a bit faster than I normally do with a bolt action as my local site needs some players to start taking the initiative a bit more. Cobra hood and workout rig here I come! In short, very pleased, would recommend the Cyma SR-25 as the base for a DMR and it will be one of my only AEGs as I really like the performance; the only other AEG I keep is my Cyma m21 build as a backup gun for Vietnam games, but with a full cylinder that thing shoots pretty much just as well as this SR-25 build. Also, HPA isn't always the answer and now I just find the "oh, just HPA it" argument to be a rather amusing one. I still think HPA is a good option, but I also think it is only good for snipers and DMRs (spicy personal opinion, you won't convince me otherwise).

Have you decided on what weight BB's you're going to use ? The technical side of DMR'ing was straight forward for me, change single part / evaluate change / move onto next part, but getting the right weight was harder as was the hit to my wallet 😢 (0.40g)

  27. if you're aiming for a snappy build then you'll want a mosfet with precocking, something like a warfet or ab++ will be fine if you're not switching between semi and auto often. the warhead is definately the motor you'd want for this, i'd go with a standard speed and as mentioned above if that's not enough for you then upping the gearing and/or battery voltage remains an open possibility.

  29. Didn't really play much today as I had another of those days where everything went a bit wrong and we had to leave early anyway because the guy who gives us a lift had a family get-together this evening. MP9 mags need cleaning. I put BBs in one and they were all gunky by the time they got to the bottom. Going to give them a good clean! So that was out of play today because I'm not feeding disgusting dirty BBs through it. New holster for the HK45 is great, but I need to cable tie it to the molle platform as the buttons are utter shite and it kept coming loose and flipflopping around. Left-handed mk23 holster was uncomfortable as the molle drop leg platform buckles were digging into my side. I think I need a shoulder holster if I want to carry it alongside another pistol or SMG Forgot to gas up my m700 magazines so I went out into the first game with like... one and a bit mags. I managed to absolutely shut down and dominate a flank with about 32 - 35 BBs total, so that was nice, just waiting to take shots that I knew I could hit and not wasting a single BB was quite an exhilarating experience since a LOT of people started to push. Gassed all my mags for the 2nd game and spent a long time going on a large flank as I heard people fighting over where I wanted to go. I made it all the way around, came up on where I wanted to be, which had been cleared out by the time I got there, then game ended before I could get into position. However, it was still a successful day. I gave up on playing after the first two games as I wanted to set up my HK45, since I haven't used it since I bought the TDC outer barrel from Hadron, and I wanted to set up the SR-25. That's where I found my success. The HK45 was cycling perfectly even though it was a bit chilly and went through the whole mag with no issues. Slings .32s out to about 60m with the setup I have (Hadron TDC + ML Autobot rubber), but not accurate past 50m. More than enough for a pistol. The SR-25 is firing at 1.05J super consistently on .32s and sailing them out to 60m with no issue, hitting the target with most shots and the hop rubber isn't even properly bedded in yet. However, more importantly I took a walk down the range while my friend fired it. On semi-auto, it's barely audible at 30m and you just flat out can't hear it at 40m and that's on a quiet range with nothing else going on nearby. On full-auto it's barely audible past 40m, but at 50m you also just don't hear it at all. Very happy with it since it's an AEG and it's quieter than some people's spring bolt actions! Going to put the m700 away for a few game days I think. The gameplay at Worthing has been pretty abysmal recently so I feel like I'm going to need to play more aggressively which I just can't do efficiently with the m700. Nobody is taking much initiative and nobody is pushing, let alone pushing effectively; if I can lock down an entire flank with a bolt action rifle with about 35 BBs in total... Yeah. Going to put the full ghillie away and go with the cobra hood and the SR-25 for next game day and going to see just how much I can get away with. 650 BBs and an Odin speedloader with a universal adapter is a lot more than like... 80 shots from a gas-powered bolt action

  30. Recent post about my 1911 mags not firing a full mag.... When I first got my gun I saw a co2 spring that's beefier than the one that was in the gun! At the time, thinking the spring may help with fire rate or just assuming more power = happier me, I swapped for the bigger spring! Knowing now it only effects the recoil I have swapped them back. As I have since purged and oiled the mags, I'm now getting a full mag plus 15 shots before it's out of gas! This won't help with the cold issues but I feel better knowing that atleast the gun and mags are sound and I was the problem all along! I'm not giving up on finding a cure for the cold freezing up the mags outdoors but I'm glad that I can atleast shoot full mags now. To all who commented trying to help me, I thank you but thankfully the issue was the idiot behind the gun and not the gun itself!

    Warranty Expectations

Welcome to airs- oh, right. Everything that we've come to expect, from airsoft to Apple: "yOu mUsT Be hOlDiNg iT WrOnG." [and it's nothing new*]. Retailers know fine well that almost nobody is really going to see them in court, and that we'll grumble a bit then bodge it ourselves. In this case you could tap out new threads and replace the screws with larger ones, although you really shouldn't have to. That's what they should be doing, or replacing the gearbox if they can't retap them. What they almost certainly did was just screw them back in, maybe with a bit of loctite. You're past the short term right to reject, but two failed repairs wouldn't be reasonable. I'd get the gun back first in whatever form it's in, then assert that it's not fit for purpose, not of satisfactory quality, and that as it's within 6 months of purchase, the fault was there when sold. You'll need them to cover cost of having it repaired by an actual tech, e.g. Luke, or Kingdom of Airsoft, at something like £45 an hour, plus postage both ways, plus any parts up to and including a new shell. Then it's off down the usual track of letters before action, and whether you actually want to pay to initiate a small claim in court (which you can do online now). Best of luck. [*] H.G. Wells, The War in the Air, 1907 When the [defective bicycle] hirer returned, a heated pedestrian, Grubb would ignore all verbal complaints, and examine the machine gravely. “This ain't 'ad fair usage,” he used to begin. He became a mild embodiment of the spirit of reason. “You can't expect a bicycle to take you up in its arms and carry you,” he used to say. “You got to show intelligence. After all—it's machinery.”

  33. Great info so far. My brother and nephew always play outdoors. In terms of gun style I was thinking a AR style, I’d rather something that’s good at range than some nippy little thing. I keep seeing NOVRITSCH pop up in videos but then there seems to be equal amount of negative about them. I’m guessing there’s a few brands which are known for quality and have good upgrade path. I think to start with I’d rather keep away from gas. My brother has swears by some knees pads…so I’ve added some trousers with inserts to the list.
