Today I ran my second game day, a tribute game for my best mate's young son who passed suddenly last year. Connected games based on a post apocalyptic idea with 'zombie' super soldiers thrown in to the mix ! Went very well with a turn out of over 70 players and a very hot day, all good natured and everyone seemd to have a good time. Marshalling certainly gives you a different view of our sport and an apreciation of how hard good marshalls work ! And we raised just under £430 for charity, all in all a great day of airsofting .4 points -

Raid modded my Helikon BDU shirt. Wrist adjuster and chest pocket buttons replaced with velcro. Lower pockets removed and large loop velcro patches added. These were then attached to the upper arms. Also bar tacked over a small rip. Quite a productive afternoon given how bleedin’ hot it was! Coyote brown velcro from ContactLeft (Ebay) and Gutterman thread (colour 208 - from Amazon)2 points

So update ran all my mags at 30 rds today and loved it, 1 game I ran out of ammo but I forgot I had a 90 Rd speedloader on me and if I had a sidearm would have the extra ammo aswell. In total 664 shots fired today made me pick my shots and play alittle more tactical. Definitely think I'll enjoy GBBRs2 points

As a larger player myself, as seen in first pic. I just found it easier staying away from thing like the jpc 'tactical bras'. And stick to the more old school ciras, paraclete or mrav carriers that cover more surface area and have plenty of adjustment. Plus you can still seat them properly, and with the right tops like pcu style jackets, and staying away from things like ubacs. you can pull of marsoc, ussf, ranger and a few others, without actually showing too much and still being comfortable.2 points -

I decided to bring a spatula today as a melee weapon. Needless to say I got quite a few laughs out of it, however I did get 8 kills with it and 1 other non-spatula melee kill It was a very fun day without any complaints besides possibly the heat and the amount of liquids I had to drink because of all the sweat! The amount of rentals that showed up was great too, it's always nice to know people are getting into the sport and to be able to provide them with the most fun possible.2 points

help with MP40 & Sten
JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Paul H for a topic
some appraisal advice really. I bought the AGS STEN & MP40 as wall hangers. Always wanted one since playing war as a kid. So when I saw them it made sense. I bought the replica bags with pouches for mags, then 4x 50rnd mags each, repro slings Even invested in the Vintage Arms(?) STEN suppressor kit and uprated rear QR bolt and fixed the wobbling butt plate the AGS STEN's seem to have so the the stock is solidly attached. Big plans....18 months on they're not up on the wall but gathering dust. I have Shot them both once and great fun. As much as I (thought) i wanted them they're not used and put away. I use more 'modern' AEG's when my back allows. MP5-SD, G36c G18c G19 & UMP are more my cuppa tea. I'm considering selling the STEN and MP40 with all their accessories to somone who will hopefully get some use and pleasure out of them. Given the accessories and AEG's they are literally like new condition wise and selling each with all the bits a rough guide on prices would much be appreciated. Pic of mp40 below. It's really not a veiled ad. I cannot find similar for sale with all the bits and pieces. Not sure if It's best to sell the AEG's with mag, batt and charger and the repro bag, slings 3x mags, etc separately. To me it seems sensible to sell as one lot but new to this and bout to display more than use. I'd appreciate any advice Paul Reply to this topic... Ok, that rules out the hop / hop arm moving when you added your new barrel nut. *Check how old your bbs are incase they’ve swollen. *Check your feed lips for any damage and if your mag springs are still…springy. *Check the bolt is travelling as it should e.i not going over the lips (this can happen if the upper / lower have a fair amount of play. *Check all your mags are doing it and you can rule out the duff one.1 point -

I have the G&P one and after replacing the plastic (!) grub screw with a stainless one and a dab of loctite it has been working well. Have an RATech in the spare nozzle as well and they both do the same job, might be down to what is in stock1 point -
Thank you. Been taking things apart since I was a kid. Eventually decided it would be a good idea to work out how to put them back together. I've been tuning and uprating my gbb pistols and finally opened up the v3 gearbox in my Cyma g36c. It was running well and its my favourite long so wanted to put some reliability and long life into it. Ended up replacing everything inside the g/box through trial and error and actually enjoyed shimming the gears. Things like air nozzle lengths meant a lot of learning that just because many airsoft guns are copies/clones of say TM that parts stated will fit or work don't always. Nice to push yourself. The v3 gearbox works and is better than standard on the chrono and quieter. Not cheap but glad I did it in the end and learned an awful lot more than I did know Mosfet next Ab++ is a work in progress in the G36. Yeah I like teching and tweaking to get just that bit more out of them. I mentioned the disability but only as it prevents some activities but I intend to get involved more and exercise of any sort vital, it's like physio and good for mental health/keeping positive. Good to hear others are not letting such a physical sport stop them from getting involved. I plan to get stuck in rather than just stuck. The guy using his chair as a tank, top man! That's the spirit! Whilst new to this it's just what I needed and i hope to contribute and eventually see some members on the battlefield maybe1 point

Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
Can't disagree with anything you've said really - I was lucky to pick up a new CM16 SRS for my son for £150 last year, and that's the most I would ever part cash for a new one. I had to immediately bin off the ETU unit and replace it with a Perun ETU++ and add an SHS High-Torque, bringing the total cost to ~£220 which it still waay less than the £290 current retail. G&G's pricing structure is just crazy now. They are pricing themselves out of the market - and other manufacturers are capitalizing on that, even the big dogs like KWA with their new polymer shooters.1 point -

There is a guy that does Airsoft skirmishes in an electric wheelchair, so I wouldn't think you can't ever skirmish. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/simon-jameson-turned-his-wheelchair-into-a-tank-for-airsoft-game-2016-4%3famp I'm not familiar with the issues you'd face and you'd need a supportive site but seems like it's possible if you really want to. There are many elements to the sport though, gun teching, playing, practical shooting target, collecting and being an all round gear nerd Best of luck.1 point -

Hi Paul 👋 Well I say 'top marks' for having the drive and the right mental attitude to want to get involved.👍 Over the years I have seen quite a few disabled people who have the drive and determination to get involved and get so much satisfaction from playing. It seems like you are planning ahead and I hope you get to that facility you mentioned to hone your skills. Also having a knowledge of teching is a great skill to have and one which may help others near you. I'm sure you will get out on site and do some games soon because I don't think you will let your disabilities stop you. 😊 Have you got any buddies that are into Airsoft? Regards1 point

First time visit to The Gaol nr Oakham. Really good CQB site with well thought out man made cover and barricades. The site owner and marshal team set a tone of professionalism and are efficient. As a team we had a reasonable day, only really hampered by the high temperatures. I think it’ll definitely be one to revisit later on in the year when things are a bit cooler and perhaps players are a bit more engaging with the objectives. All that aside, we did have some really good moments clearing buildings, getting the drop on people and just general airsoft banter! I personally didn’t see or hear or a single instance of non-hit taking either! If you’re in the Midlands and fancy some great CQB.. give it a go!1 point -

No noob photos of me as i started in 2004 when camera phones were shit and social media didn't exist. The earliest picture i can find of me is this from 2011 Standard issue (at the time) British assault boots, C95 DPM trousers, Viper kneepads, ACM plate carrier, Black UBACS (don't remember the make but it wasn't a Chinese knock off) Maruzen NBB P99, KSC (I think) Glock 18 in a mag pouch, ACM gloves, ESS V12 goggles The latest pic i can find is this, taken last January. After going through several different camo patterns I've found myself almost back where I started German para boots, The same pair of trousers as the earlier picture, Same plate carrier (swapped out for a SADF M83 chest rig in summer) All Terrain Tigerstripe combat shirt, Eye protection liberated from work. The guns are an E&L AKS74U and Golden Eagle R8701 point -

Milbro G10... We'd seen airsoft and been told that you used BB guns. We actually spent quite a few weeks shooting each other with air pistols until someone pointed out our error. TBF they are that underpowered that they didn't hurt too much. You did always call your hits mind. Funnily enough I don't field it these days.1 point -

OP Paramount at Ultimate Wargames Kent. Basic theme was UN Inspectors/arms dealers/FSB/US TF/Aid Groups/hapless civvies/crazed jihadis, somewhere in the middle-east. As one can imagine, the field was confused and confusing. Alliances were formed, broken and formed with suspicion again. Foes became friends and deals with opposing sides were done. The fluidity of play was amazing. Day one, we awoke covered in dust having dossed down in the village. Sleeping bags were rolled up and rifs hidden as the US TF entered and searched the compound in two jeeps. Various villagers and sleeper jihadis crowded around and played havoc with the operation as the aid workers played nursemaid and intermediary. With instructions to delay the TF, the keys to their Landy were nicked, as was a dopey players rif. When they went to pull out (spare keys were found), some silly sod played wounded in the road and delayed them some more. Really the whole thing was hilarious. Great airsoft vibe without a shot fired. The immersion was fantastic. As we had arrived and been assigned straight to our quarters, no one knew who was playing other than our own team members. Meeting up in game mode really worked. Playing terror faction was great as the village construction meant free fruit and coffee, chilling with friends and a few halal beers. The game developed with each faction having its own agenda and pursuing it with vigour. Objectives were found and searched for and various items assembled. By the late afternoon , shots were fired and the arms dealers (I think) and TF were actively at each other. The confusion was palpable and info was eagerly devoured. Various tasks were assigned and attempted. Missile systems were traded, stolen and hidden. Teams set up meetings, ambushed each other and worked together. Ad hoc fire teams were formed among the locals and the village defended. Vehicles probed the perimeter as did drones and spies. Updates became essential. By nightfall everyone was confused and tired, happy and ready for a ceasefire. Drinks were drunk and food cooked. By midnight most were in bedrolls and snoring. Sunday was started with absolute wonder at who had achieved what, who had reached their objectives and who had not. The game became 100% hot with each faction fighting the next. We probed the woods and structures for objectives, fought and made shaky alliances anew. At one point, we ambushed the arms dealers, nicked the FSB's missiles and launched a false attack on the TF. I don't know or care who won, but it was immense fun. At close of play there were conspicuously fewer players and a sense of complete confusion as to who had won. Personally I enjoyed myself immensely. It is somewhat liberating to throw oneself about in fancy dress with a toy gun. In conclusion, the roleplay based roles were done to perfection, the TF/FSB players were superb, they really did have some skills. The terror cell were a blast to play with. The UN/Aid roles were played with much patience and skill. In conclusion, it was well worth the three hour drive and cost. Moans: I experienced one incident of bad hit taking in 20+ hours. I realised that I had been hit as I pulled out of an ambush. I absent-mindedly rubbed a sore forearm as I pulled out from my position only to realise too late that I had been hit. TBF with my nerve damage and the insect bites from the previous weeks camping, the odd strange pain is hardly unknown. I gave myself a 15 min KIA as penance and comforted myself that I must have traded with the last chap that I shot before disappearing. Some of the ambushes could have been better coordinated. If important to the story/plotline these could have been better timed, but so could about 98% of life, so no biggy. Given the complexity of things, bringing them off at all was a minor miracle. Each side lacked snipers. Not really noticed in game but realised later. Given the layout, only one half of the game map would have had limited benefit anyhow. That really is it for negatives. I did spot a women player. She was well geared up and well into the scenario, thwacking various foes from advantageous points and having a ball. If we got a better gender balance at this type of event, we'd all benefit. The immersion, gameplay and fun were outstanding. Good use of technology and vehicles. sides were well balanced and arranged, objectives were well planned and coordinated due to the way the game was planned to unfold. In all I had a great weekend, played myself ragged, had a catch up with mates and drove home knackered. I'll do next year for sure. I am certainly up for the next @SierraBravo event.1 point -

First time out in about a year due to covid, concussions, wife's car needing basically an engine swap etc... RIFT Comsite 2. Very sunny day but just enough of a breeze to cool you without making your shots curve like an Angelina Jolie movie. Lots of players on the deck, i'd say about 150ish. Land Rovers for both teams. Usual gripes of overshooting and hit taking (rentals and seasoned players alike), but due to the weather movements were generally stagnated and lead to teams being pinned down at either point. Until one team decided to do a 50 person attack and basically went from one end of the map to the other. Then with people running out of ammo/water/energy, headed to the car park and the other team countered in similar style. This was kind of the theme for the day of one team getting somewhere due to the other team waving a flag and heading to the safe area - which i don't blame them. I ducked out before the last game as I needed to get back home but the car park was about 80% full still which wasn't too bad. Only moan personally is the turn around time between games. The morning was 2 hour game before lunch, but getting people to the brief area took aaaaages. Personally i had a good day with one rifle that is fresh out of a tech's workshop starting to bed in and the r-hop finding it's groove. The single shot was a bit dodge with it firing a 2-3 round burst coming out of safe, but i think i need to fine tune the pre-cock and active break. New pistol was the tits, and the aliexpress shooters belt worked lovely. 8 fields pistol taco's, for a fiver each once adjusted were as tight as a conservative government helping a poor person,1 point
