  1. Someone with some serious engineering skillz made a functioning Lynx gbbr. Have you ever seen recoil like this (out of a tiny little glock mag no less)?????

  2. This isn't announced anywhere else yet, but I'm happy to say that Tactical-Kit have purchased a small batch from me, so these will finally be available on home turf (in a couple of weeks or so). I set my wholesale price pretty damn low tbh and because they're so light they're relatively cheap to ship in bulk, so while sadly the £ price is higher than the $ one Americans get, it is going to work out in the region of £15-20 cheaper to buy from TK than to pay the shipping and import taxes yourself if you ship the Hub alone, which overall I think is a decent result considering the distance from the sewing machine to a shop England. They only exist in MC and RG so far but hopefully that will cater to the majority, if they sell well then other colours may come to TK over the course of the next year or so, depending what they want to buy from me. Obviously for a placard this is the top end of the market and if you don't run a Tubes'd up rig/G-Hook PC/762 AK I wouldn't blame a soul for getting the Spiritus Mk5 instead which is bloody close in terms of quality, but if you want those Tubes and absolute maximum modularity from a British company (military owned, if that is something you're in to), then maybe take a look.

  3. What is all this "warrior" stuff? As for the SLR and chicken wings, the first few seconds of this are quite interesting; this is certainly how I was taught to shoot the thing.

Tacticool M4A1 to "good enough" xm177 build for Vietnam games as a backup rifle (I'm far from stitch-count filmsim!). Good thing is it literally takes me about 90 seconds to swap out the handguard for the rail system, the stock for the regular M4A1 stock and the carry handle for a red dot and back up iron sights. Sticking the magpuls back onto the mags might take a little longer than 90 seconds, but it's still fast! Thanks to @Wavey_Gravey and @Prolish for the parts I needed. Was a pleasure dealing with you chaps!

  9. As has been mentioned earlier in the thread, I think a few folk are over thinking this. I personally would get a few things out of some sort of training course 1: enjoyment of playing with my toy gnu (or a RS training weapon) 2: the possibility of me being a couple of percent more confident with my toy gnu handling abilities 3: a day out the house playing with my toy gnu 4: the company of likeminded adult children who like playing with toy gnu’s Its a silly game we play, but being slightly better at it tomorrow than I am today would enhance my enjoyment of the game

  10. There is a reason why NYC did this.... https://news.sky.com/story/teenager-thought-to-be-attempting-tiktok-water-gun-challenge-shot-dead-by-off-duty-officer-12657029 There is a tik tok challenge of people recording drive-by shootings with these things, and an off duty prison officer shot a kid dead. Apart from that tragedy, anything where Airsoft type guns are causing panics (in a country where mass shootings are common) and unsuspecting people are being shot at, who have no eye pro so might get blinded and are certainly being pissed off and perhaps hurt.... Well that's the sort of publicity we don't need.

  19. Cut and pasted as I'm too lazy to type it out. Apologies for the caps A PLANE IS ON ITS WAY TO TORONTO , WHEN A BLONDE IN ECONOMY CLASS GETS UP AND MOVES TO THE FIRST CLASS SECTION AND SITS DOWN. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WATCHES HER DO THIS AND ASKS TO SEE HER TICKET. SHE THEN TELLS THE BLONDE THAT SHE PAID FOR ECONOMY CLASS AND THAT SHE WILL HAVE TO SIT IN THE BACK. THE BLONDE REPLIES, "I'M BLONDE, I'M BEAUTIFUL, I'M GOING TO TORONTO AND I'M STAYING RIGHT HERE." THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT GOES INTO THE COCKPIT AND TELLS THE PILOT AND THE CO-PILOT THAT THERE IS A BLONDE BIMBO SITTING IN FIRST CLASS, THAT BELONGS IN ECONOMY AND WON'T MOVE BACK TO HER SEAT. THE CO-PILOT GOES BACK TO THE BLONDE AND TRIES TO EXPLAIN THAT BECAUSE SHE ONLY PAID FOR ECONOMY SHE WILL HAVE TO LEAVE AND RETURN TO HER SEAT. THE BLONDE REPLIES, "I'M BLONDE, I'M BEAUTIFUL, I'M GOING TO TORONTO AND I'M STAYING RIGHT HERE." THE CO-PILOT TELLS THE PILOT THAT HE PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE THE POLICE WAITING WHEN THEY LAND TO ARREST THIS BLONDE WOMAN WHO WON'T LISTEN TO REASON. THE PILOT SAYS, "YOU SAY SHE IS A BLONDE? I'LL HANDLE THIS, I'M MARRIED TO A BLONDE. I SPEAK BLONDE." HE GOES BACK TO THE BLONDE AND WHISPERS IN HER EAR, AND SHE SAYS, "OH, I'M SORRY." AND GETS UP AND GOES BACK TO HER SEAT IN ECONOMY. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT AND CO-PILOT ARE AMAZED AND ASKED HIM WHAT HE SAID TO MAKE HER MOVE WITHOUT ANY FUSS. "I TOLD HER, 'FIRST CLASS ISN'T GOING TO TORONTO."

    Painting over two-tone

We have some serving police officers that play at our site. I asked one this same question. I paraphrase his answer below. Don't have your RIF on display in public, the firearms squad will treat it as a real weapon until they have satisfied themselves that it isn't. If you are stopped by the police while transporting it (in the boot of the car, or in some kind of slip while on public transport, etc) you will need some form of defence for having it in public. 'I am an Airsoft skirmisher on the way to an Airsoft site' is such a defence. You don't actually need a UKARA number to use that defence and having one is not a magic license to do stuff, it is just an easy way to legitimise your claim because you need a registered site to vouch for you in order to get one. As stated above, you can manufacture a RIF if you have a valid defence. Being an Airsoft skirmisher is such a defence. If a concerned citizen sees you manufacturing a RIF through the kitchen window and calls the police about seeing a scary black gun then the firearms squad won't know you are an Airsofter until they have kicked your door in, and that will be your fault for not being careful enough.

  22. Prison guard, looks to have been their gun training officer. Seems not to have a carry loicence though, might be interesting if that charge makes it all the way up to Clarence Thomas. His side of the story: 1:30 in the morning in the Bronx, gets hit in the back from behind with unknown projectiles, sees a car with a couple of good boys who never did nothing to nobody pointing a gun-shaped thing at him, fired back. The family's story: the whole neighbourhood was having a consensual water fight in the early hours of the morning, boys will be boys. You can pick plenty of holes in either side, we'll likely never know. I guess the take-away point is: don't start nothing, won't be nothing.

  24. Fcuking idiots! I remember a good 10 years ago, whilst working in the motor trade I was on the forecourt with clients when a vehicle drove past and shot at us with a paintball marker. I managed to duck between vehicles to avoid being hit, the lady I was with wasn’t as fortunate and was hit in the face from probably 10m range The police weren’t interested even with cctv footage of the incident This was in Edinburgh I can’t condone the excessive police (retired?) force used in this incident, but a good thrashing is just too lenient

  25. Well done you ! I don’t play anymore (might change one day) but I’m still a massive kit pest and have a strong desire for top end and quality cordura goodies , it’s been this way for a long time … I blame my dad who gave me his Cyclops Roc bergan for my 13th birthday … the passion never fades be sure to put some links up , and from someone who’s been self employed for way too long … don’t ever apologise for self promotion , if you are not passionate about it and want to talk about it how are you going to expect anyone else to get excited about it . In my experience with small business or new ideas most people are investing as much in the person behind it as they are the product

You need to bear in mind that for many soldiers access to pistols was very limited in the past, usually amounting to a couple of mags a year on ranges with very little corrective training, just enough to pick up, operate, & safely clear a weapon if it became necessary, obviously it was a very different story when it came to a soldiers primary weapon, usually a battle/assault rifle ?. I say this as former British army, obviously I can't comment on whether the same situation applied in the USA or elsewhere for that matter, but I don't think we're in a position to scream "stolen valour" or whatever the term is just because someone's handgrip is wrong on his toy pistol. For example when I started playing, 20+ years ago I was an airsoft god, seriously, well trained, with shit hot drills combined with high fitness levels meant I was a force to be reckoned with. But now, numerous skeletal injuries (wrecked back from rta's, both knees need replacing, a toe missing on my dominant foot, a finger on each hand sewn back on) & other health problems, which has led to "middle age spread" that I'd previously kept at bay with a hard exercise regime, no longer possible, means when I do get out to play, if I'm not dosed up with corto-steroid jabs, hinged braces & pain meds, I'm a shambling shadow of my former self, & have had to drastically alter my playing style to get through the day without suffering new injuries or aggravating the old ones. But I still do OK, & usually have a good tally of "kills", so all I'm saying is don't be too quick to judge players, especially those older guys, just because they're a bit slack in their style of play. And breathe🤪

  29. They're quiet fairly clear about it in their published rules, although I do wish they'd knock off the legacy "fps" nonsense and start thinking and talking only in terms of Joules - and actually get the numbers right. Their "variance" jibba-jabba is unnecessarily confusing. All they need to say is: Electric, gas, CO2: 1.13J DMR: 1.49J, semi locked, 20m MED Bolt action: 2.31J, 20m MED Any HPA: 1J

  34. If platforms such as HPA & some gbbr are subject to variable joule creep, I'd much rather save the day with an aeg backup than potentially drive long distances home while spitting feathers & vowing to destroy the site verbally online etc Bugger knows, & clearly this site understands it less than me lol, but if an incident doesn't scream wholesale cheating, then surely a stern warning, coupled with an alternative option to continue playing is better than their current set up.
    1 point
  35. Unless someone is caught with a ridiculous variance in power differing from the "start of the day chrono", & assuming the tag or tie fitted by the marshals is still intact, players should be given the option to switch to an aeg platform, & if they haven't brought their own, maybe a rental offered for a small additional fee. Would surely be an option that benefits everyone ? Posted before I saw your post, spot on👍

  36. The just punting paying customers off site with no chance to switch to an alternate gun is just shite.

  37. Power hungry twat sums it up really from what I have read. This is the bit that annoys me It is the responsibility of the players to chronograph their gun before the airsoft day starts, Chrono Stations are provided on all sites. So chrono isn't compulsory but they fuck you immediately if you fail a random check.

  38. Obviously he's a total cnut, but if he's that anal about HPA & gbbr, wtf doesn't he just ban them from his sites, & go aeg etc only. It'll save him all his anal anxiety on gamedays, & everybody else the aggro that he creates.

    1 point
  44. I'm quite intrigued as to whether these training days teach "real world" tactics, or airsoft tactics. Because real world tactics (I've watched a lot of them in Hollywood movies) mean a SWAT team bursting into a den of crashed out junkies at 3am, or a Delta Beret team bursting into a compound full of women and younglings... at 3am. That's a bit different from two teams of essentially equal players all hopped up and tickling their triggers. Absent grenades, airsoft "door kicking" means shoving some fat bloke in a plate carrier into the room to see where he gets murdered from, and then shooting the shirt out of that area. I'm not sure that "Sacrifice Porkins!" is part of any real world doctrine. However, we live to learn, and I'd be interested to know if anyone is teaching something better than that, that actually works in a game of pretend soldiers.
    1 point
  45. If you want to do the training because you will enjoy the experience then go ahead but if you expect it to improve your game you will just waste money to be honest. In my experience people who try the real world room clearance stuff are actually at a disadvantage as the steady controlled aspect does not suit airsoft at all. Real world stuff is based on the fact of tension and the fear of death or taking a life so they expect some hesitation. But when facing 16yr olds hopped up on monster it becomes about reactions and you will get rinsed. Airsoft room clearance and cqb is a war of attrition where it is about fast movement and faster reactions. Clearing a room is about going in fast probably dying but hoping to take someone with you and lessening the bodies in the room or even better just chucking grenades in. Without grenades a couple of good players can hold a room against overwhelming numbers for a very lengthy amount of time. I have seen so many players and teams try the whole tactical bit and inevitably they get rinsed and generally get upset and most often are the biggest arses on site.

    CQB training course

I’ve always been a believer in that if someone is offering any kind of military based training course that the public can attend and it doesn’t cost hundred pounds(training with someone who has time served experience isn’t cheap no matter what field it’s in)then there’s a VERY good chance the person running it is either a walt or bloater . I’ve family and friends who’ve spent yrs working for big international security companies that are also involved in training others and I’m pretty sure none of the ‘bonafide’ companies would have anything to do with training Joe public AND they charged thousands for their courses . What it comes down too is the guys who could train you do this properly from their own personal experience are already getting payed mega bucks to do it for a big company somewhere , they don’t need to run Mickey Mouse courses that anyone can attend for a couple of quid . As lots have said just YouTube the crap out of it and I’m sure you’ll substantially up your game just by doing that . 👍
    1 point
  47. Room clearing drill: pull, throw. Frag self, get mediced, repeat. The issue I have with these courses is: who's training you, and are they training you to play airsoft against rental chavs, or to murderise insurgents up a treat (and then you get rinsed by rental chavs). I've seen a few of these advertised on Failbook, typically promoted as being run by an ex-Delta Special Ranger SAS Force Operator. When I've asked how they've established said person's bona fides to be sure that they're not just some grifting Walt, it's been crickets, blocking, or the claim suddenly alters.
