Throwing pyro after getting hit?
Tactical Pith Helmet and 2 others reacted to BigStew for a topic
Depends when they were hit. If they are in the process of winding up to release the pyro, then finish the throw, dead man's revenge. If they are hit while striking it drop it a safe distance from themselves and any player in the blast radius is dead if not behind hard cover. I personally don't bother with pyro any more I had a bad habit of hitting trees and self killing when the thing bounced back.3 points -

So i lost a bet
Gloombones and one other reacted to Chanzeypopz for a topic
Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read my post. To cut a long story short i lost a very high stakes bet with a group of male friends of mine and the forfeit they originally chose was for me to play a round of paint ball....completely naked (could wear mask/goggles and trainers) but i have been unable to find anywhere that would allow me to honor this forfeit. So now they have suggested airsoft instead. Does anyone know anybody in the airsoft buisness living somewhat close to Glasgow who could make this happen ? Also will airsoft hurt as bad as paintballs ? Thanks x2 points -

I will admit near all my guns are still in their original boxes , but that’s purely for storage and postage reasons no way do I think it adds to the value , BUT I am ever so slightly inclined to think if someone puts a gun up for sale and it’s still got the original box and the box looks like it’s in good condition that would lead me to ‘hope’ they’ve looked after it a bit better than your average nobber who’s just chucked it under their bed/in the wardrobe/corner of their room until the next game ? One can hope ? 😳2 points -
Never seen or heard of it happening but if it did I’d say as long as the player is DEFINITELY hit then yea get rid of it how ever they want , but the caveat is if you drop it and it goes off any of your own side inside the ‘kill zone’ are dead(in real life someone gets hit and drops a grenade it’s still going to kill anyone near by) but if they do throw it away then it’ll be a “no kill” even if it lands in the middle of half the other team having a chin wag , if you’d been hit for real you wouldn’t have been in a fit state to chuck a ‘nade at the other side .2 points

Throwing pyro after getting hit?
Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to THE CHIEF for a topic
At awa if it mid throw let it fly. If its just struck and you get hit you drop it at your feet. Had this before. One good sniper shot resulted in taking four of us with a friendly grenade. Was a good laugh!2 points -

Throwing pyro after getting hit?
Floperator and one other reacted to AirsoftTed for a topic
I think it's a tricky one. Ideally, once shot you'd drop it at your feet and then the ensuing 'friendly fire' would be observed. Realistically, I can't see that happening. Having had Pyro go off right at my feet before it wasn't pleasant. I think the best solution would be to lob it in a safe direction away from friendlies and the opposite team - but that requires A) a safe direction with no players present and B) the presence of mind to do so quickly whilst you're probably still sucking your teeth at being hit in the knuckles or something2 points -
Custom Pistol Build Thread
Paul H reacted to frontsight for a topic
I really enjoy creating custom builds based on real-steel counterparts, and take a lot of inspiration from what other airsofters have built. I can't seem to find any dedicated pistol threads here; so I'm starting a thread where we can share some customized pistols. Curious to see all of your cool custom pistol builds, so feel free to show off some of your one-of-a-kind handguns! ---------------------------------------- I'll kick it off with a recently finished build. Based it off a "bowling pin" 1911 that's used in competitive shooting circles. -> https://www.thearmorylife.com/bowling-with-a-pistol-a-guide-to-pin-shooting/ These types of handguns are usually older, base model 1911's retrofitted with all the modern upgrades such as adjustable sights, and ridiculous compensators. Did some research and found that this was a style of 1911 popularized in the 70's~90's by people like Bill Wilson (Wilson Combat). Think of it as what resto-modding older cars are, just for guns. Started off as a basic MEU with a guarder slide and frame, but now complete with a commander-style hammer, tung oil finished wood grips with custom cutouts, and compensator. I've also upgraded all the internals such as the BBU and sears/disconnectors. Pretty much done at this point but I might throw on a ridiculously long inner barrel to match the length of the comp. Otherwise, looks as massive as it does in the pics and shoots like a dream Tried reverse-crowning the barrel while waiting for the comp to arrive. A gunsmithing technique where the barrel is cut inwards at an angle, used to increase accuracy. Pretty sure doesn't work on airsoft outer barrels but still, looks cool as hell Real steel pin-shooting 1911:1 point -
Tippmann M4 v2 - what weight BBs?
RostokMcSpoons reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
i'm probably the wrong person to be responding to this but as heavy as you can get, then fit a maple leaf setup to get it to lift it...... jokes aside, as with all things it's a cost versus performance balance, and it's up to you. whilst i have fed a polarstar .48's and it was hilarious the little "ker-ching" noise every time you pull the trigger is an incessant reminder of how much money is going downrange so run whatever you think has the right balance for you. one thing you need to be careful with on an hpa setup is joule creep, you want to be sure you're setting your pressures/dwell etc to the ammo you're using in-game and not anything lighter.1 point -

For Sale. G&G Predator full metal edition. Used for a couple summers but hasn’t been used for a year so about time it went to a new home. Paid £280 just for the rifle and extra for the other bits. Will be sold with everything here plus an 11.1 LiPo and a 9.6 Nunchuck battery. It’s has clear marks of use but preforms so well with an extended barrel. Programmable MOSFET allows your to program in three round burst, electronic trigger gives a good response too. I am often traveling between Cardiff and Bournemouth, if you require drop off that can be arranged if you are close to that route. Any additional questions, feel free to ask. Throwing pyro after getting hit?
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
It should be dropped as imo throwing a pyro after being hit is no different to someone who keeps shooting after being hit, it's cheating and cuntish. The argument that "I paid for it so I want a kill from it" is quite frankly rediculous. I pay for my bbs so by the same logic I should be able to ignore hits till I've got someone1 point -

I came into possession of a ngrs urgi in october and have used it in every skirmish since. The lower fps is not an issue as this thing is getting incredible range for an aeg battle rifle, both me an my teck were gob smacked by this. Buy one and leave it the hell alone and you'll have an amazing gun, do not get the fps upgrade (fps = failed player syndrome) you will reduce the longevity of the aeg and get no realistic performance boostas at shorter ranges the extra fps wont make much difference in the time it takes for the bbs to reach the target and at long ranges the bbs will be running out of momentum regardless. Buy an ngrs, use it and enjoy it! One if the best things about them is not having to mess with them to get decent performance1 point

My second AEG was a TM M14 SOCOM, it is by far my best sounding stock AEG, and i have never felt the need to tinker with it... I got a MK 18 recoil for christmas (best wife) and have used it every game since. Its a beast. its not GBBR levels of recoil, but its still enough to put a smile on your face and enjoy the novelty, especially on full auto. It is completely stock, including the fancy £45 batteries of which it needs two to last a day. I have never felt out gunned by any other AEG user, it has even gone as far as outranging some (most notably a guy whose rounds were dropping a few meters short of me getting hit with my first burst). I play outdoor woodland, its winter, so ranges are further than summer days, just stick 0.25s in it or 0.28s and get rocking. Its make me seriously look at getting the NGRS Scar H as my next toy. You will find on forums, especially like FB that people like to hate on TM because FPS is considered too low. When in the fine print, its probably them hating on the guns because the price tag is too high for them to afford or their internal value meter thinks that £500 for an AEG is too much. The finish quality is great, my CYMA M14 the stock creaks terrible (its my only gripe) the TM M14 SOCOM is solid. MY G&P m16 has a slight gap between the upper and lower receivers, the TM is flush. But i am a weirdo in this community i feel, looking at that screenshot. I never understand why the assumption is that everyone is going to 'upgrade' their guns?1 point

You lost me at 'restrain myself.' 😂 The EPS stock is great for battery space but I do like a CTR. I have one on my MWS. If you're going to run one on an AEG, I think you need to remove some material from the rubber pad to allow battery storage, so may be worth getting the thicker .70 butt pad.1 point

AND I’d put money on not one of those commenters have ever owned a TM recoil ! All I’m seeing their are the standard stale as f**k reasons for not getting a TM that are trumpeted out every time theirs a “should I or shouldn’t I ?” Discussion on the subject by the naysayers who nine times out of ten haven’t any personal experience just 2nd/3rd/4th hand information from their best mate Baz “who said so , so it must be true !”🤦♂️ I’ve never denied I’m a BIG fan (I love them) but I’m certainly NOT by any stretch a ‘fanboy’ of them I know they have their faults just like all other makes do but I still say there the best out of the box never need to ‘up-grade’ gun you can buy . Yes the FPS is low ? So what they’ve got the best stock hop units in them and will far out range most other higher FPS guns on the field , so many players STILL equate range purely to FPS but if you’ve got a crap hop unit it won’t mean a thing how much power your putting out you still won’t hit shit with it ! 😆 a low FPS gun with a good hop set up will always beat a high FPS gun with a shitty hop guaranteed . you have to remember they are built to run to their max potential for the Japan market no where else , TM have spent an awful lot of time and money to reach this point so once you start f**king about with the internals you throw it out of balance and your now on a hiding to no where . Me personally all I ever do is change the Tamiyaha to a deans(absolutely no idea why they STILL use those Neolithic connectors ?😳) and I ‘mite’ at a push swap the inner barrel for a different but that’s it . Just my two Pennie’s worth but I stand by it 100% .👍1 point

Cheers Diddy. I must admit I may be adding a CTR stock to the gun but the one you have on is a looker 👍 It's a good job the misses and me have bought a new house...means I need to restrain myself and NOT buy airsoft kit like there's no tomorrow lol1 point

Throwing pyro after getting hit?
Rogerborg reacted to strykerles for a topic
I've shot someone while they were striking one and they still threw it obviously nobody wants it going off in their hand to take a hit or going off at your feet (loud as f**k) a nearby marshall shouted "no kills" due to it being released after he was shot even though there were 2 of us in range entirely situational though as there won't always be a marshall around1 point -
What have you made?
Skullchewer reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
Needed to knock up a couple more goggle fan units and a simplified goggle-strap clip to mount a Poundland £1 powerbank. Total all-in cost, including the powerbanks ~£4 each. The earlier prototypes seem to work pretty well, but I need to stress-test over the summer when it's really hot and sweaty. Thinking of a dual-fan version with airflow guide vanes to direct the air over a wider area1 point -
Throwing pyro after getting hit?
JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
i'll be honest, i don't think i've ever seen this happen, at least not in a way that was noteworthy. tbh, if i thought about it i'd say drop it, because i can imagine that'd be an amusing way to frag your own team. although that said, if you dropped it i doubt any team mates would take it judging by the prevalance of people assuming freindly fire doesnt count regardless of the site's policy.1 point -
If it's paper pyro, once it's struck you have to get shot of it (obviously). If they were in the process of letting fly then they're not going to not follow through. Personally I'd be pretty miffed at having to take a hit from pyro that left their hand AFTER they were hit (assuming they actually called it at that time) but that's up to the marshals on the day.1 point

UPS RIF Declaration for Parts
GothicGhost reacted to GeorgePlaysAirsoft for a topic
I had the same thing as Alvin and it was totally fine (short version I pretty much answered no or n/a to every question which didn't specify parts) There is a question whereby if you put "yes" to RIF parts, they want you to "confirm the use of the RIF as above" - I did mark the question as "yes" but did not confirm the use of the RIF "as above" cause.. it's not a RIF. I may be paranoid but I'd encourage anyone who has this form for parts to not include anything vaguely "ukara-ry" or "defency", just in case they start demanding ukara or whatever for just parts. I still have a copy so if you want to take a look let me know and I can ping it over.1 point -
