Working on customizing my Secutor. Going to paint the bipod at some point, camo the scope and suppressor, and paracord braid the hand guard..

Don’t know if it’s just me and my general hatred of all things ‘social media’(which I think is a total oxymoron should be called ANTI-social media the shit it causes !)but are some of the status updates on here seeming to be getting more and more like a ‘farcebook’ update ? I keep expecting to log in to the forum and see a “I’m fuming !” or a “never trust a snake !” Followed by a “what’s up hun ?” THEN followed by a “PM me !” 😳 Yea I’m old and grumpy as fornication .

With regards to any CNC slide, there is no guarantee that they will be a drop in fit just because it is CNC or it is made by a certain manufacturer, no matter how pricey. Throw in an aftermarket outer barrel by another maker and then see what happens. That said; from experience: Prime, Nova, PGC, Detonator and Shooters Design are all what I would class as quality manufacturers. With regards to weight, on a Western Arms 1911 the standard slides used to weigh the same or 5gms less than an equivalent aluminium slide (Prime/PGC/SD). Western Arms do use a heavy weight plastic in most cases. With Marui though, the metal slide is more than likely to be a bit heavier than the original plastic slide. Some models more than others. The good news is that the heavier slide gives more of a recoil impulse. Gas efficiency will vary depending on model, but without making an exhaustive list, with an SD slide on an HK45 you can easily rapid fire a magazine without issue. Obviously if you are looking to fire the gun in -5c with 134a or just want 5 mags of BBs off per fill then a metal slide is not for you As you asked in particular about the HK45, then in this instance I am only referring to the HK45. Each gun model needs to be taken on a case by case basis. I have fitted both Detonator and SD slides to HK45s. I would class both as a drop in fit. Both have Creation metal outer barrels which fit both slides without issue. The Detonator is a better finished slide. The quality and evenness of machining is better and so are the markings. Blowback feels similar with both metal slides. In the first two pictures below the tan frame has the Detonator slide and black frame has the SD. There is nothing wrong as such with the cosmetics of the SD slide (depending on how fussy you are*), it is just the Detonator one is 'better'. *For that reason (and because I am pedantic), I ended up getting a second Detonator slide for the black one as seen in the second two pictures. You can compare the photos below which may hopefully guide your decision.

This. I went to a site last year where they had a rule that kevlar barrel socks must be used and could be bought or borrowed (with a deposit) from the site. When I said I didn't know about it, I was told its on the faceache page. When I mentioned it might be a good idea to put it on the website as well for those of us who don't do Facebook the member of staff didn't seam too happy

Its essentially locktite'd on. Like an orange tip but more extreme. Youll need to get it quite hot, then wrap something around it (its metal, so itll be hot) and unscrew. Its a PITA to do.

I've done the battle sim days at anzio. The jist of the day is that once the brief safety brief is done then the scenario which the objectives are based around is given and then objectives through out the day are posted via a teams HQ, although it's not always the respawn points as these are often located elsewhere, and as such can be used as objectives/taken and held etc. In terms of the day. Once it starts it doesn't stop for breaks or lunch, so it's up to you to eat/drink in the game area or return to the safe zone. I've found it a better day when teams have taken breaks in the field and have a drink/take break within the game area, so are never out of play but obviously that's down to the players on the day. I've played those days as both dmr and aggressive bolt action support (snipe but not Bush wookie) as well as assault/cqb and it works well either way for me bt I would say to wear a watch or have the ability to know the time with you. Objectives are often time based, eg your have x time until x happens or to capture a point. Which I felt was a great idea to stop things getting too stick if one team players decide to take an hour off for lunch.

Replaced the sling attachment on my F2000 with a couple of straps from this and all the securing sliders, plus a couple of metal D-rings, to make this ... which seems to be working pretty well. I originally had the d-rings at the top of the stock, but actually that made the sling get in the way when shouldering the gun, so I re-jigged it to the current position. Because of the extra webbing inserted into the buckles to support the d-rings, the sling slots in the stock don't seem to be under undue pressure, so I'm not afraid of the plastic struts breaking. And an added bonus is I don't need to use the hex bolt to keep the butt plate on now, so battery changes will be easier. For an added Brucie-bonus, it also looks a lot more like the BF4 setup (in spirit, at least)

Since UKARA is just a central register of site membership (all UKARA numbers are created by sites) I'd be minded to contact the site directly, if for no other reason than that they might come back with "Joe Bloggs? We punted him for being a mental case." Are you really that bothered though? I can point at several retailers who accept bogus "defences", or none at all, without consequence for them.

So there's presumably not many people playing airsoft, or if they are theyre doing it for free so why would they pay?

A 100 times this ! the team running it can make literally the crappiest little site an absolutely brilliant day but equally a poor team can make the best site possible a total waste of a day . Classic example for me is my old home site , I always said a bad day there was better than a good day at most other sites I’d been too , until the head marshal passed away and then we rapidly discovered he really was the heart of it . After he passed away from my perspective(and my team mates as well) it just went to shit , standard of organisation dropped , rule infringements weren’t getting jumped on like before , poor control of the site became a lot more visible but the biggest thing for me(and again my team mates) was the total lack of customer care , the new bosses just didn’t care about it . When he was running the site he would always wonder around the safezone welcoming the players to the site , he was always at chrono , always tried to be the one giving the briefings , was always out on the field and was always approachable with questions/complaints/etc , and at the end of the day he always wondered around the safezone asking you if you’d had had a good day and if not why and shaking hands and saying good by and he looked forward to seeing you again at his site and it was his site , he may not have owned it on paper but he certainly was the boss in our eyes . When Dave died so did the site as far as I’m concerned and it really showed it’s the people that matter NOT the bricks and mortar .

I am going to generalise but since covid i have found every site i have been to a little lack luster. Our local site.. The late the great Combat South ( pours drink ) closed. So we have tried lots of other sites and have not yet found one we would go back to regularly. We have had some fun, don't get me wrong. Sadly the effort most sites seem to be putting OR equally the lack of staff they seem to have these days seems fairly noticeable. I am no Combat South fan boy ( Love you Russ ) . They had some games that didn't work and honestly most weekends were a rinse and repeat of tried and test scenarios. But it was always delivered to a high standard, the marshal's were visible and engaged. They also provided a high quality lunch. (Which i do not understand why other sites who are now charging upwards of £25 a person, do not provide something so basic. Well not without an additional fee. Tight asses) I am hoping that as Covid fucks off, that competition for players returns and the the sites start upping their effort. Or i'm just jaded and overly entitled.... Or due to the great sites being lost to housing developers that the glory days of airsoft are dead. Or because today's airsofter seems to be weak, whiny and scared of being drilled full auto. Or its the speed softers fault. .......... it is speed softers fault

So in a job lot of bits a while ago I gotna hfc mauser carbine with no furniture. After some tweaking and sourcing a mag it works well and now im building a stock and handguard for it. This is the progress so far.

Not even its final form, waiting on some bits I've ordered.
