  1. In addition to the other replies, I'll say this; (this applies to casualsoft skirmishes) everyone pays the same money to play, and everyone plays in a way that they most enjoy. Youll always get your group of plonkers hanging back and chatting, your narcissistic user l33t YouTubers with gopros hanging out of their arses, your regulars who know every advantageous angle to shoot you, your hpa/speedsofters tearing around like mad that's... and everyone in between. So given that everyone is doing their own thing, how much you enjoy a day is wildly dependent on the ratios of player types attending. Perhaps if there were more players who were keen on objectives in your team, you'd have enjoyed it a lot more. And as mentioned, the subjective quality of sites can vary wildly too. I've been playing 13 years, and I'll still have bad days for whatever reason. But on the flipside, I'll also have absolutely outstanding days that me and my buddies will be chatting about for weeks. I seem to have rambled a bit, not even going to proof read. Hope this helps.

  2. I was dubious when I saw the thread title. Your write-up is fair though. So, welcome n' all that. You picked up on something which I have found to be generally true across several sites and years of playing. It can be a little bit like golf. People turning up mostly to try and/or show off their latest equipment, combined with milling around talking with their mates. Not everyone is super enthusiastic (of course the current weather doesn't help) about the actual objectives and often people who celebrate victories are seen as knobs. Maybe because of this, I rarely hear marshals even mention who "won" either. Possibly that's my overall point, maybe it's not for you or maybe you'll learn to take it less seriously. Think of it as a good reason to get out of the house early on a weekend, meet some mates, get the adrenaline flowing and even a little excercise too. Edit; I will also add that collecting the equipment (often the guns), can be at least 50% of the reason people are in to this hobby.

  3. Sadly, you've listed some of my pet peeves, which seem to be common at most sites. You only missed marshals hanging out in groups and InstaFacing on their phones. YouTubers and airsoft "celebrities" produce heavily edited videos showing a rather selective view of airsoft, sometimes bordering on staged or fictional. And, yes, there are generally a bunch of people who aren't massively engaged in the objectives (if they even listened to the brief), or sometimes even with playing airsoft at all. But you'll have good days and bad days. For example, the timekeeping at Biohazard today was actually pretty decent, and we did get told who'd won each game, which was nice. It really comes down to the players and marshals who show up on the day, and whether the numbers suit the site. The good days are great. It's a pity you didn't enjoy Bunker 31 as looks like an interesting site, sort of outdoor-CQB. I don't think you've got a lot of other options up there - it's quite a trip to Tazball, Viper Strike or Evolution, and I haven't played at any of them, so have no particular recommendations to give.

  7. Well. First new kit brought in well over 7/8 years. Set myself up with what I’m going to try to narrow down to be a mid war marine impression. Long way removed from my usual Russian kits but fancied a change and something I’d not done before. Everything is repro for the time being and chances are I’ll just swap a pouch a month or there abouts until at least the webbing is original. Just need to get it dirty & add my own flair to it now

  8. I think persistence will prevail. I’ll certainly be giving other sites ago before writing off the sport as a long term hobby. I’ll defo be doing both these things. There’s a group of four of us who are all starting out and have similar ideas on what we want out of it (teamwork, comms, objective focussed, not so fussed about looking flash in expensive kit…although that does sound fun). I’ll also be contacting the site, in a friendly manner of course. Who knows, maybe it was just a day where a few of the marshals were feeling rough after a late one on Saturday 🤷‍♂️

  9. it can be as simple as it was just an off day, although the better the site the better the "average" level and the less frequent/bad the off days will be. although there remains the ever present issue of it being spoiled one way or another. the winning and losing thing, well folk take different viewpoints. personally for me on regular skirmishes i don't really care if our team won or lost, indeed a well-fought loss is imo more fun than an easy victory. however if it's a running theme for the whole day then there's the ever present question of team/game balance, which is something a good site should be paying attention to and adjusting teams/game rules to compensate. i would certainly say it'd be worth it for you to try a few more games, and some different sites. if you're still getting the same feeling out of the ones available to you (ie reasonable driving distance etc etc) then at least you know gave it a proper go.

  10. I've got two we m9's. Semi and full auto and I love em. Build quality and feel are both present. They are great guns. I also have couple of tm pistols p226 and mk23. They are great pistols as well. On game days I invariably end up with one of the m9's on my belt though.

  11. I love my WE berets m9s. Mind the Barry Bolton V2 to be the best because it's more robust. less likely to blow of the back end when in full auto. if you worried about the emblem on grip just touch it up with art fixative spray. That will retain emblem for much longer.

  13. I've had better days of CQB. Taped versus no-tape teams, and I was on the taped one. Try spotting the absence of something in the dark in the 2 milliseconds it takes for them to spot your red-and-white hazard tape. Barely audible muffled, muddled briefings. 2 out of 3 tracers crapped out. Pistol mags were giving up or gassing out all day. And to end it all, a cracked nail and bruised finger through a padded glove from a speedyboi who must have teleported to get to where he was lying in wait. Maybe the eddies in the space-time continuum effected his regulator, because as we all know, HPA players never, ever nudge them up during the day even when the site is lax and laissez-faire and would never, ever catch them. [More generic grumbling and muttering] To be fair, the actual play was OK, the games all worked well enough (once people figured out what had been briefed), and it was nice to catch up with @Musica. Maybe I'm just getting too old experienced for CQB.

  16. So messaged Feyachi on Instagram and got a speedy reply, they asked for my Amazon order number and instantly said they will send a replacement at no charge. On it's way to me now. Couldn't be bloody happier with their customer service. 5* would highly recommend them. Wasn't expecting much of a response TBH. But they have delivered better service than many large companies.

So I managed to put a few rounds through the gun at work today. It uses the same gearbox as all the other DE guns with the falcon system. At about 10/15m I was getting a grouping of around 2" or so (using valken .20g outside. I then shot at sign about 30/35m maybe which was about a foot square and after adjusting for wind I was hitting it pretty consistent. The gun feels very solid. No creeks anywhere. The only part that has a bit of movement is the stock when extended half way or more but even then it's not that much. I thought I'd highlight a few bits that might be useful and nice touches. First up is the battery compartment. It's pretty airy in there, especially if your a fellow 904G owner. as you can see plenty of room for larger sticks or crane batteries.b The stock has 6 extendable positions plus a couple for the cheek rest. It has a nice rubber pad at the end. A little detail that I thought was nice was a window to show what position the stock was in. The charging handle is ambidextrous and can be swapped over easily. You pull the charging handle back along 2 sprung loaded stainless steel tubes too access the hope unit. Hop now exposed through the large ejection window. This stays open until you press the catch and it snaps shut. Next is the grip. Feels good in the hand. Has a nice rubber texture on it. Definitely more comfortable than my 904G and H. Lastly one slight downside. The stock when folded doesn't click into anything to make it stay fully closed to the rifles body. There's a bit of free play before force is needed to fold it back to lock it out. Easily solved with a bit of velcro, or something. This is the amount 'free play' Hope that helps someone.

  22. I think, given what you've said about your location, your best bet is to keep trying (and if possible go to a different sit, obviously). If you're playing with friends then you guys be the ones that work as a team, you cap the objectives, you watch where all the headless chickens are gathering and use them as a distraction while you flank. And maybe send an email to the site pointing out what you found disappointing, but send it as constructive criticism, they may improve their running.

  23. It can vary at sites depending on quiet who shows up. A few of the regulars where I was said what an unusual day it was. Much reduced attendance, presumably because of the weather. I had a few issues so didn’t get “stuck in” my initial games. Not being able to see kind of slows you down! General skirmish days a lot of players, rental or otherwise, just want to shoot people/their mates and tend not to be very objective focused.

  24. It really does depend on where you play; sites all have their own characters and styles. You need to try a few out to find the ones that work for you. Don't give up after your first try. If you let us know where you are based, I am sure that members who know the sites in your area can advise you.

  25. You said yourself you have never owned the WE M9. Which WE pistols have you owned? The WE Beretta is not the worst ever. Those who collect M9s will probably tell you the Gen 2 WE version is more reliable than the KJW, KWA, ICS or G&G. The WE Glocks and Sig P226/ P229, are also better than the KJW. Granted many of their pistols are crap. But not all. TM certainly makes the best gas pistols, but the WE Berettas, Glocks and Sigs are pretty much TM clones. And they are very affordable and have decent magazines that are also cheap to buy. KWA and VFC pistols generally cost more and look a bit nicer, but they get slagged off just as much on a regular basis for breaking or just being unreliable. Maybe that is because they don't copy Marui designs and their own designs have flaws. And if they do break, good luck getting replacement parts.

  26. Short version: ordered a pistol and holster, they've gone walkies thanks to DpD driver error. Rang patrol base, they're sending replacements which will be with me tomorrow and have refunded the postage. DPD were not helpful in the slightest, claiming they'd never seen the package, despite sending me notifications it had been delivered 🙄 But Patrol Base have been fantastic.

Bit of the same outlook to your point my self , I do agree quite often rental players will suffer due to the condition of the guns BUT as equally important to their inability to compete against players with their own guns is the zero experience they have of tactical sports so their on to a looser from the get go . Im talking about the player who knows their way around the sport and have their own kit , there the ones I say don’t blame the guns blame your self for choosing a gun you haven’t the skill or mindset to skirmish successfully with . 👍

Brand/Model: GHK AK105 Power source: CO2 FPS: 350 (Can be changed using the installed NPAS) Reason for sale: Very reluctant sale that I'm still in two minds about. Marks/blemishes: The condition is used as shown in the pictures with the only blemishes on the replica are on two locations of the front rail on the left hand side, where I had to cut horizontal cuts into the LCT hex screws to get them off when the hex sockets were ineffective. Once the cuts were in the screws came out fine so they have not been threaded at these locations and the working area was sprayed with black Krylon paint. Included in the sale: GHK AK-105 4 x Devil Hunter modded CO2 Magazines Krinkov Flash Hider Misc front tactical grip Misc Holo sight (May be Theta Optics so don't expect too much from it - I used a Vortex Sparq 2 with this rifle) Hephaestus Tactical AK fire selector LCT Z Series B-33 Dust Cover Classic ( aZB-33 ) LCT Z Series B-31C Upper Rail Handguard ( ZB-31C ) LCT Z Series B-30 Handguard Classic ( ZB-30 ) 1 x Large Tan Nuprol Hard case UK Price: £900 + P&P Payment options: Paypal only (Goods & Services) Shipping costs: TBC will estimate once packaged for transit and I provide receipt and refund the difference. Splits/SWAPS: I may consider splitting the rifle from the mags but only to sell the rifle first - no swaps. Other information: This was my 'Alpha' project where I focused solely on the external upgrades with the thought process being that I would upgrade the internals with Hephaestus parts as and when required. The only internal upgrade has been a custom NPAS to ensure I can regulate the FPS for different site limits which was done over 18 months ago using a well regarded guide (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4381388) and has worked very well over that period. The only other internal works have been the sanding of various parts to ensure that the bolt cycles smoothly and I've had no issues with this to date, but I have found that full auto is less impressive but as a GBBR user its never been an issue for me as I use semi. The mags that come with this rifle are CO2 devil hunter modded mags which enable you to refill the mags as you would a gas mag. The mags were modded by CoreAirsoft Italy and have worked fine to date but means to fill the mags are not supplied within this sale. The preferred buyer would be someone who has experience with GBBRs. Videos or additional pictures can be supplied on request or if you have any questions drop me a DM and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

  31. A PTS EPS stock is the perfect solution, you can fit anything then, you could run a Titan 6000mAh 11.1v Crane battery if you wanted to. Back onto the topic though it does cosmetically look like a very nice rifle, but it's begging to be front wired so the stock could be a little better 👍

  38. Well played! I play support gun a lot. Shouldering it like a rifle would allow you to get around ammo limits and semi auto only rules. At least as far as games with a lot of structure/milsims/filmsims etc. No use having different roles if people chuck plastic M249s around as though they are M4s.

    Blind Firing.

My local site classes both hip firing and dual wielding as blind fire, but side-sighting is fine. It's one of the few rules I very much disagree with, but I've given my feedback and it's still the way it is so I'm not going to push it any further. I agree hip firing is bad and I agree with their ruling of no key-holing (because it's basically just situational blind firing), but dual wielding and hip firing never came across as blind firing to me... To me it feels stupid. Hip firing and dual wielding you can very much see where you're shooting, arguably better than you can when you side-sight, since side-sighting means you can't see the other side of your gun. Yes, dual wielding you can shoot in both directions which would be blind firing as you can't look directly to both the left and right at the same time, but you can also fire a single gun to the right without looking so that's just blind firing and has nothing to do with dual wielding. Hip firing as well, some support guns aren't designed to be shouldered; as has been pointed out, are you going to make me shoulder a minigun? I think part of it is that people get mad about support gunners playing support gun properly. I've got a friend who has had multiple complaints against him because he suppresses an area and then people stick their heads out into the suppression to catch a few BBs to the face. Fires in bursts too, so he's doing nothing wrong, but people get mad; I think him moving up and hip firing is part of why hip firing got banned. Oh yeah, I also got properly blind fired last game day when I decided to not be a sniper for once. Someone on my team said "behind you!" and I turned to see an arm and the barrel of a rifle sticking around the corner. Fortunately the guy must've been shooting blanks or hadn't wound his high cap or something because I didn't feel anything and just pushed around and put two BBs into his leg.

  41. To quote an old adage, "knives don't kill people, people kill people", you think taking all the "zombie knives" & other associated crap off the shelves is gonna stop people being stabbed ?, is it fuck, the whole thing was just yet another government knee jerk reaction, probably to cover up a completely different non related matter that it didn't want talked about. In the same vein, no pun intended, bout 15 years ago, following another surge in "stabbiness", a group of A&E doctors tried to raise a petition to the government of the time to ban the import & sale of all pointed knives, but as was quickly pointed out, all the scrotes etc would do is raid their mums kitchen drawers, or start making shivs from literally everything available. No, if the police are gonna try to enforce the law, ANY LAW, best they know what they're talking about first, & if the intention is to prevent harm being done, maybe properly lock up the habitual criminals, the repeat offenders who it seems know how to work the crap system to their advantage. Like the fact that if your subject to a stop & search, found to be in possession of a bladed article but not in the process of committing a crime with it, not only are you likely to escape prosecution, you will probably get the knife back, if you ask nicely lol. Like the lad in London, a known gang member caught with 15 knives (I think ?), slap on the wrist & his brief asked for the knives to be returned😬

  45. that's true. on the one hand, they are just responding to the audience, sadly "airsoft fights and flipouts compilation #420; cheetar shot in the ballz with crazy 500fps sniper (instant karma) (super painful) (he regretted it)" is gonna get you more views than "yeah went and played airsoft, it was fun playing but the footage doesn't really show it that well". it's drama dressed up as actual gameplay. seems to be a human thing, i mean if you look at regular television we could put anything on there and yet we so often choose to have violence and murder.
