  2. Well all OK, the eye doctor said that the eye has been grazed and will be ok in a week. I got seen very quickly despite a member of staff saying that they are short on staff from illness. As for the graze, it was caused by the force of the BB on the bottom eye lid, its going to be uncomfortable for about a week. So all good in the end. I am looking in to face masks as I want one for my son to use with his glasses and it needs to be full face and found a helmet with a full face attachment, only I had to send it back because the rails were a bit Janky. It really needs to be the fast helmet type as well... So I may be asking lots of questions in the near future...

101% this ! I’ve had days where I’ve only played half the games and shot no one all day because I’ve been too busy socializing with players that we’ve not seen each other in ages . I know this really annoys some players but as long as it’s not affecting the game day(talking in the briefing/not paying attention/delaying game start/etc)then who cares if someone hardly plays most of the games and just socializes ? But equally I have game days where I’m a positive god(in my own mind😇)of war and really set out to do as much as possible to win . Just play so your happy at the end of the day . You get the ‘only play to win at all costs’ in every facet of life , think it’s just in Airsofting it can be more noticeable than a lot of other sports perhaps ? Me personally I’m like you I don’t actually care wether we win or not I just want to enjoy the day . Then again I know my willy works !😉

  5. I can now add to this topic with my experience with TM gun - I have also posted here regards to upgrades of that gun. I have TM AK-102 EBB that I was not perfectly happy with - especially the range on it (quite possibly because as I later found out the bucking was torn). After discussing the upgrades with people here and friends outside of this forum I have decided to replace only the barrel with tight bore and fitted prometheus purple bucking and nub. It's almost like completely different gun now - the range is just fantastic on it and as I also using it with .25s the speed of the bb is decent.

  6. After trying the i5 I brought one as soon as I had the money. It's literally like putting your face in a form fit pillow. The filed of view is amazing and they are basically impossible to fog. With my glasses the fit is like I'm not even wearing glasses. Super comfortable! The best part though is the ratchet strap system. You just slide the mask on and twist and you are good to go. No annoying straps. But like you said the down side is the face coverage. Sure it makes the mask light but there are gaps on the sides of my jaw and like you said the forehead. I have a little cut right now on my jaw's edge.

  8. Can't agree enough Druid. I used one of those generic crossdraw vests until recently. Quite liked it but way too many pouches for my uses, plus the velcro mag pouches are fiddly as heck. Went low-drag for my sci fi armour build, two generic belt pouches that can hold STANAG, AK or whatever, anything from 2 to 6 mags they can hold, elastic cord on the top so much less fiddly. Until its finished I'll just be stuffing a couple of hicaps in my pockets.

There’s a lot to be said in favor of a minimalist chest rig , I’ve got a good few now in different camo’s most I’ve mod’ed so I can get 6mags on them(I split and re-sew the pistol mag pouches together so it’ll take a primary mag) and a dangler pouch on it as well and it’s good to go 👍

  12. Yeah, I really changed them because I like the shorties and they are amazingly flexible. In fact I was trying to reduce the power output since they are slightly above the limits. Not had any range issues in woodland games so far.

  13. I do not recommend anyone taking the prescription safety glasses route wit the Riley brand. https://www.riley-eyewear.com/swarm Two Reasons. 1. They have a trim that is not moulded but "clips" to the main safety frame, this (sides) will come off easily. (The grey 'flare' bits by the arms pop off) 2. I am off to eye casualty after last nights game, someone had a spicy RIF and a BB was able to get under the safety barrier and hit me in my eye. I have had to wait all night to book in at 7am and wait to be called in by them. So no matter how much your optician tells you that these give all round face hugging eye protection, its BS. The fact that a BB can get in from hitting my cheek bone at the eye socket, make its way under the rubber seal, to me is clear indication that they are not in anyway suitable for airsoft. They were not cheap either, £165 from Vision Express. Not exactly express either as it took 3 weeks to get them to start with.

I wonder if anyone's already looked into it. https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/threads/royal-london-chest-hospital-august-2015.98714/

  18. Ucap had the use of the Kingston victorian prison in Portsmouth. That was listed and awaiting development for prestigious apartments. We had it for approximately a year. It was a bit of a mess but as everything was built to withstand the wrath of 'wrongly accused'murdering maniacs,we didn't do much damage with our plastic balls 😄😄. I think a hospital would be just what the doctor ordered. 😉 Regards

Sadly I agree with you , I see a player in a speed S’ofter get up , I hear a ripsaw noise from a gun or see the infamous hose from gun to somewhere else I automatically think “better watch them , just in case” . Just the nature of the beast I suppose ?

  24. I did end up taking it... just two BBs in there, and I could already move them around against the nozzle, they just refused to drop down the feed tube. I even fashioned a spring hook from a bit of dowel with some bent guitar string attached to the end, but I couldn't coax them out of there. (If someone can manufacture a BB-puller for this situation, they could surely earn a few quid, certainly I'd be first in the queue) Anyway, AK now in bits, barrel given a quick clean with bit of cotton. I've mentally noted not to use cheapo BBs in that gun every again, and it's all ready for my next (cosmetic) purchase to arrive... if I go ahead with it that is. New thread *** incoming ***

I am a 54inch chest (just big and fat) American stuff tends to be made in bigger sizes. I personally wear tiger Stripe most of the time.https://www.military1st.co.uk/ is good for sizes and range. Helikon stuff is pretty good quality for the price and flektarn is good camo for British woods.

  28. I would reword that to looking a paintball goggles. Dye is not the only contender - their premium masks are known for being compact - which translates to not being good for large heads such as mine (which is a moot point when comparing glasses style to full face goggle) The Dye i3 full face goggle also had an airsoft specific snow/skiing style equivalent goggle without the full face element, and the i3s could be dismantled for the same effect Other premium goggles are available, and each design has its pros and cons for different heads Even cheap goggles are great if they are the right fit. I bought a pair of Sly Annex MI7s just for the multicam style colour scheme) (now likely to be marketed here as Valken). They are just basic rental grade in hard plastic - but they fit my head just right, and have good air flow My second ever goggles / first new goggles were the Dye i3pro with these my forehead was always exposed (but resolved with a headband, backwards baseball cap or beanie etc), my chin remained outside and whenever I spoke my mouth was exposed I tried on the i4s - even less coverage Ive not tried on the i5s I would not call Dyes ‘designed for glasses’. They do have great airflow - but most of that is because of how little they cover faces Every premium goggle should cover airflow, and seal the eye area away from your breath The perfect goggle fit for me are the Angel eyes but their full lens design has not made it through standards, and despite the reattempt of the C2 Eyon they have never made it to market My preferred goggles are the VForce Grills, which actually are designed around glasses - including slits in the soft foam for your glasses arms My standard recommendation for goggles is to try them on - everyone has their own opinion and the only way to know what’s right for you is to try some

  30. Still not got round to priming. Annual Leave until 10th however too many household jobs needing done. On the other hand, managed a couple of small add ons to the UAR and a bit of bodging err sorry "teching" to fix a design flaw... Firstly, a cheap metal CYMA silencer which has definitely changed the report to a dull, quieter 'thud' instead of the normal popping 'crack' and to me looks the business. Haven't Chrono'd it yet however it shoots fine. Also bought two Battleaxe 380rnd hicaps that have a nice texture to them and a very handy capacity check window. They also improve the look of the gnu in my view. Secondly, there's an annoying design flaw with the magwell that is well documented. Basically there's an irritating spring-loaded plunger that helps push the mag out on ejection. The magwell is also slightly too large resulting in much wobble; the combination of these two things makes many mags not sit right and causes feed issues. Sorted this by ripping out said plunger (its completely unnecessary anyway) and packed out the rear magwell guide with a strip of velcro; now, nice tight mags that sit correctly, feed correctly and, finally, I can use my midcaps... Might get round to priming tonight. Eezer G

  33. For my recoils I have changed the spring, to an M95 which isn't a massive increase, but if you do that and change the barrel for a tightbore and one that is slightly longer you should have a decent fps. Mine are around 335-340 pretty consistently. This way you aren't just wacking in a bigger spring, realistically more powerful springs will break tm recoils quicker than other modern brands (as described above, they are built for power so the gears and piston aren't as strong) but they have been running pretty well for over 5 years each and a lot of use on stock gears and pistons without any major malfunctions. The FPS mentioned is at 0.2, it's obviously lower as I run 0.3s through it normally. I don't think TM recoils are great if you want a reasonably high ROF either and I think regularly people use 11.1's (even with mosfets) and then get annoyed when their upgraded recoil can't cope with it. Doesn't really sound like I am endorsing recoils, I am, they're great, but they aren't some super dupe easy to upgrade by slapping in a higher power spring or massive battery, they're more refined and if treated like it will deliver some fantastic results for quite a while.

  34. Yet another for the Baofeng 5R’s , I’ve accrued 5 or 6 over the years(both my sons play as well) and a shed full of fist mic’s and D shape ear pieces to go with them as there cheap as chips on fleabay , if a particular rig is flavor of the month I’ll leave the comm’s set up on the rig to save fannying around re-threading it each time I play ! Antenna wise I use a flexible on the back of my rig with an extension cable threaded through the molle to the hand set or a 12inch wip antenna if using a chest rig or belt set up , if the weathers looking a bit shitty I just stick the radio in a plastic bag with a couple of the silica packs you get with packages and a bit of Lekky tape wrapped around the cable to stop moisture getting in and effecting the handset . if I’m playing indoor CQB and there’s a risk of loud bangs I use a set of Howard Leight impact sports with a cable from the the fist mic to the auxiliary port on the cans .

Another one for name tags , I’ve got ‘Druid’ in multiple camo patterns and colors so I’ve normally got one on my shirt and I always have at least one on my rig , I do find in game that my fellow red/blue/etc team members are more likely to call out a warning or ask for assistance when they’ve got a nickname/call sign to use instead of “oy you in the camo gear !”🤦‍♂️ At my old site everyone knew me as Druid a team mate was known as little bear(his online name is stwpid Bear and he’s a short arse !) another friend is known as CoM(center of mush as he ALWAYS gets shot in the face !)and another is animal(simply because he is one !🤣) in what I’d consider my ‘inner circle’ of player/friends we use each other’s actual names but outside this it’s all nicknames . I do wonder if the other players especially the newer one just seemed happier calling us by our nicknames because there less formal than your actual name ?

But also: "1. The game is physically and mentally intense and may require extreme exertion to play." But no running. Do they make you do push-ups before respawning? Why do they call it a waiver? Tell me they don't have... "Release: I hereby release, remise and forever discharge from any claims and liabilities whatsoever without limitations that I might have against FREE FIRE ZONE Ltd. and the owners of the property on which the game is being played." It's never not funny that people actually waste their time writing that, or making you read or "agree" to it. 🙄

  38. Cheers 😊. There's not much to see as a 'build' yet, once I get the spray paint on it, and start hacking the front end to get a RIS rail and stubby grip on it, then it will be a build I've got astigmatism too, but it's working fine for me with my toric contact lenses. Lucky I guess! One thing I've noticed with this red dot is it is very small and low profile. So too low when I'm wearing my OneTigris mouth/ear protection. So I'm going to buy a riser rail for it. Well taking of airsoft scopes, I didn't get on that well with my old 4x32 scope on my M906, but I'm very tempted with this at £20... https://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/products/3-9x40-ir-zoom-scope/ Looks a bit of a bargain, but I'm spending some money on other things first... Expect another post in this thread soon 😋 Yes definitely interested in that! That looks superb for the price, I was willing to risk the sight rather than fit the usual type of lens protector in front of it.

  39. The Tuna build's lookin good @RostokMcSpoons. I like the idea of a simple RDS and bought one from Amazon last summer, sadly my eyes didn't agree (astigmatism) I couldn't get it in focus no matter what I did, so back it went. Fiddlesticks. It's a pity there don't seem to be any airsoft F2000 scopes around, cos that really would look the dug's baws.

  40. This airsoft lark is worse than having a crack habit isn't it? My F2000 Battlefield 4 build slowly takes shape... got one of the "Amazon specials" red dot sights as it's the spitting image of the games' Coyote sight View down the sight (difficult to get the focus right, but the reticle is sharp in reality) All in all, it's pretty damned nice for £23, next day (Prime) delivery. The actual design means it won't survive being bashed on a tree, it's got nothing on my Kobra, but the build quality is decent. Next step is to try to build / bodge a RIS rail into the handguard so I can put a stubby grip on it...

  45. That's a transplant! 😆 The 1875 Act covers the possession of explosion with intent to endanger life or property, the 1923 Act is more concerned with general use and possession of explosives and pressure devices. Both are much amended, e.g. the 1875 Act covers explosives not available when first drafted. A mate was allowed to keep stocks of nitro powder in his shop (propellant) but not black powder (an explosive) because of the proximity of other businesses. In another LA area, a local shop is not permitted to keep MKV bangs in a retail unit in a shopping centre. I think that it's another area of fuzzy legislation much re-codified and much interpreted by many actors.

  46. Absolutely true, and they are a wonder to behold. But in my experience, that's the exception not the norm. I'm more than happy for people to bodge their TM's with upgrades as it means I'm less likely to get shot as I bimble around at a skirmish.

  48. that's not how fps works. even worse when you take into account the effects of joule creep extended over a longer barrel. my advice- if you're gonna do stuff like this buy a chrono so you can be sure yourself, and do some reading on the difference between fps and joules.
