  1. I see this far to often at games and someone needs to speak out. To guide the youth of tomorrow. Here is a simple handy guide Wrong Very Wrong Better Closer Warmer That's it, That's it!

  2. I mean...it's well done and all but I just don't get pistol carbines. Why take a pistol and remove all it's advantages?

  3. Its really not worth the effort. I could cheat almost any chrono and carry on my merry way with a hot gun. Ammo weight lie, quick spring swap, PTW cylinder change, hop fiddle, NPAS adjust or gas change. Worse still, avoid the chrono completely or put a gun through and change to a hot gun in the second game. VERY few sites check at all beyond the morning, "Please go chrono. Here is a little tag" dance. Best way is do your check in the morning, to weed out any newbies who have rocked up with a new gun that is hot out the box. Then random in game chrono. Both examples using site provided ammo. Do that and then FPS or Joules are a moot point. ( Joule creep aside but thats really only for Gas and Snipers ) Again, site provided .2s and .5s for situation would mitigate this as best it could. Outside of that people will lie and cheat for an edge or because they are a little cunty.

  4. Arrived an hour ago.. Does this even need an Introduction?... I've wanted one for 20+ years, gave it a couple of months for the reviews to come out. I bought it in black as I want to get the stock painted green to match my AUG

  5. If you seek to avoid people using hot guns then the ONLY way you can do it is to ban walk ons and provide all the guns and BBs yourself. If you use players BBs at chrono you would have to weigh them on the spot which assumes that each chrono spot will have space for a set of accurate micro scales. You would also need to make sure all sites use properly calibrated chronos which are regularly tested with known weights and velocities to double check them. If you want to avoid Joule creep then yes, use heavier ammo to test with in the first place. Insist on a zero tolerance policy of tournament locks with site applied tamper evident tags for HPA, monitor everyone to ensure nobody chronos with one weight then toddles off and uses way heavier BBs in game or fills up with more powerful gas. Then shut up shop because nobody wants to play at your site.

  12. I went for a pistol build over an SMG because I think having the mag in the handle makes it for a more unique looking gun. I don't plan on using it for big games as i would just be handicapping myself but for games that limit to single fire and short bursts i found that running this with 2x spare mags gives me more than enough ammunition. Also, with the fittings being extremely lightweight i found that the mags weigh more than the gun itself and having the stock helps me gain line of sight a lot faster. It's all personal preference at the end of the day.

  14. Fair enough. It's a point of view... Not into pistol carbines myself but I like the OP's setup, it's original. Would make a good Blaster for a Star Wars skirm!

  16. Each to their own indeed but if you take a pistol which is small and easily maneuverable, then add a stock, an extended body, and an extra long mag to make up for the reduced ammo capacity of a pistol, you end up with something that is less maneuverable and heavier than you started with which means you have LESS chance of getting accurate shots on target. So why not just use a rifle? Or better yet, an SMG.

  17. Though props to the OP for making one of the most fuck ugly dildo pistols ever look kinda cool. Very Sterling SMG.

  21. Cheers all. Strikeforce in Gloucester is insured for 10 year olds so I did something crazy and booked us in next month. Long trip (from Manchester), but turning it into a "boys weekend" with an overnight stay in a hotel. Going to buy a Viper VX Buckle up mini rig and a Viper Special Ops mini rig as they look really adjustable and pretty useful at a great price. Also going to go for a pair of Valken SE Thermal masks. I think that should do us for our first venture into airsofting. Looking forward to getting my ass shot off. Cheers, Pat.

  24. i recall reading a guide that went something along the lines of "if you aren't concerned for the continuation of the next generation you haven't got it far enough up your leg" however i'd simplify that to the correct way to wear a drop leg holster is to have it so far up your leg it's on your shoulder.

  30. The issue is the BB mass. Either trusting players with regard to what they are using ("Yeah, mate, I'm using twos", when they're spamming 0.3g), or chronoing with site 0.2g when just about everybody will be using heavier BBs and likely[*] to be Joule creeping upwards. I was very surprised to find that my G36C crept from 1.1J on 0.28g to bang on 1.2J on 0.32g, without any other change. [*] But it also chronos at spot-on 1.13J on 0.2g, on a different site's chrono, all figures taken with the hop set for the mass of BB that it's shooting, so it's not even consistent, appearing to drop energy at 0.28g and picking it up at 0.32g, presumably down to air seal with that specific hop pressure. I agree that it's more likely to be an issue for over-volumed guns. You can over-volume an AEG, I get more creep out of my full-cylinder DMR'd M4 when I put a short barrel in it. Anyway, tl;dr response, site owners will do what site owners will do. I'd suggest having a word with them and seeing what their thoughts are, rather than firing in with a written demand. Some take it very seriously, some are just doing it for form's sake and don't really give a stuff. If I was going to nudge towards anything, it would be chroning in-game with site provided 0.4g+ BBs. Anything else is just theatre, and won't result in catching the worst problem players.

  32. i'd have to say the warhead standard. it's somewhat comparable to the asg 30k however the pickup speed for semi-auto is noticeably better. i was getting ~18rps in auto on a 12:1 short-stroked build on 7.4 whilst retaining very snappy response in semi. the contacts are a bit more delicate going onto a pcb, and installation does need an extra bit of care, however once it's in there then there's no dirt from brushes as a bonus.

  33. Yeah, I have the same issue, ended up running the ESS turbofan goggles to help with that, and fortunately it does help a lot. Another thing I read recently somewhere else as recommendation and since then tried out is before I drive to games I just slap some deo onto my forehead Tinted goggles do look cool, but they will also in various situations make things a bit more difficult to see.

  34. I was going to say the same thing. Especially when the resulting item is barely longer than a suppressed pistol, so gives none of the advantages of a proper carbine

  37. To be pedantic - UK compliant airsoft guns no longer fall within the firearms act. Airguns, low power air weapons, and paintball guns are all firearms under the act, with different elements of the act applying depending on specifics. F28157AException for airsoft guns (1)An “airsoft gun” is not to be regarded as a firearm for the purposes of this Act. (2)An “airsoft gun” is a barrelled weapon of any description which— (a)is designed to discharge only a small plastic missile (whether or not it is also capable of discharging any other kind of missile), and (b)is not capable of discharging a missile (of any kind) with kinetic energy at the muzzle of the weapon that exceeds the permitted level. (3)“Small plastic missile” means a missile that— (a)is made wholly or partly from plastics, (b)is spherical, and (c)does not exceed 8 millimetres in diameter. (4)The permitted kinetic energy level is— (a)in the case of a weapon which is capable of discharging two or more missiles successively without repeated pressure on the trigger, 1.3 joules; (b)in any other case, 2.5 joules.] In practice the response will be the same until the details are established A very different outcome took place in 1999 Harry Stanley was shot dead by police following reports by the public for possession a table leg in a carrier bag and an accent. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Harry_Stanley This can parallel with the VCRA definition that a RIF is a RIF if anyone thinks it is unless it is too small, clear or >50% designated bright colours. A table leg in a carrier bag looked like a sawn off shotgun, and when accompanied by a scottish accent was reported as suspected IRA at the time of mainland UK bombing campaigns

  38. Something like spitfire tracers is fine - it’s just a light Players using blank firers in a game are an absolute no. (Even if they are UK legal with sealed barrels etc) I don’t like the slippery slope trope (ban this today and they will take everything) But for airsoft skirmishing the ‘realism’ factor is the only reason why the skirmisher defence was added, establishing skirmishing as a level of ‘playing reenactment’ Stating that we don’t need any realism means there is no need for RIFs Definitely no to flame flashes out of a barrel, yes if you want it with light up flashes, yes to appropriate recreational pyro and yes to suitably managed ‘display’ pyro

  39. That looks rather lovely mate! I can highly recommend using a TTI adjustable trigger to make things go skkrrrrr that bit quicker if it's a CQB build! The stock trigger seems to have a pull that takes 2 - 5 business days!!

  40. Yep. Its well known that .50 Browning, .338 LM and 6mm BB have similar external ballistic efficiency. I believe that Creedmoor 6.5 is slightly out performed by the 6mm BB. It's all down to the hop rubber. You should hear what a real TM 6mm can do at a mere 300fps!

  41. The relevant part of the legislation is section 36.1.b of the VCRA 36Manufacture, import and sale of realistic imitation firearms (1)A person is guilty of an offence if— (a)he manufactures a realistic imitation firearm; (b)he modifies an imitation firearm so that it becomes a realistic imitation firearm; (c)he sells a realistic imitation firearm; or (d)he brings a realistic imitation firearm into Great Britain or causes one to be brought into Great Britain. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/38/section/36 The offence is committed as soon as you change the parts. But the ‘defences’ under section 37 apply to the section 36 offences. If you purchase a RIF without one of the defences applying then the retailer commits the offence (sale) If you import, manufacture or modify then you commit the offence It should be noted that there is no airsoft defence in the legislation. That comes under a statutory instrument as an additional defence, and it doesn’t actually require UKARA membership / registration. Your intent must be to use the RIF for ‘airsoft skirmishing’ at an insured site. Dont be a dickhead with it, be sensible and no one will know or care how you ended up with a RIF

  42. All I'm going to say is that its nowhere near 2.5j but sadly its over 2.32j. I'm being lazy (plus I currently don't have the time to go and Chrono it again at this moment) but from memory I think it was 2.38j on 0.43g bb's. So when I get a chance il remove a spring spacer to get it as close to 2.25j just to be safe. That is of course unless I sell it first in the mean time. Thankfully my AEG is 0.98j with 0.28g bb's so it's pretty legal but still it can "HiT a ThReE iNcH gRoUp At 100 'airsoft' MeTeRs ObViOuSlY"

  43. Good luck with the booked event! Don't forget to check, test/wear/setup and otherwise give your gear a run through before you go. Nothing worse than turning up with kit that then fails on you some how. You can't account for everything, but you can certainly try

  46. A penguin is driving a rental car through the desert when suddenly the air conditioner stops working. The penguin, frantic with the heat, swerves into the first car repair shop he sees. Penguin jumps out yelling, "Quick, quick! Drop everything and fix my air conditioner. I'm literally dying from this heat! Really, it's an emergency!" The mechanic says, "Calm down, now. I can fix your car in about a half hour, and you should just go across the street to wait in the ice cream shop. It's cool in there, and they sell soft-serve ice cream." The penguin is thrilled, jumping up and down, and yells, "Yay!! Soft serve is my favourite!", and he scampers across the street waving his stubby wings. Exactly a half hour later the penguin rushes out of the ice cream shop with vanilla ice cream all over his face, and runs into the repair shop, yelling, "Did you fix it!? Did you fix it!?" The mechanic says, "Yeah, no problem. It looks like you just blew a seal." The penguin frantically wipes his mouth and yells, "No fucking way! That's just ice cream!!"
