The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Mr All the gear no idea and 5 others reacted to Druid799 for a topic
With all the shit been going on in my life past 8mths I’ve definitely developed a “fuck it , if it makes you happy do it !” Attitude(I used to be quite take my time lets see how things go , but after loosing my oldest friend and having a bit of a near call my self I’ve realized you can’t count on tomorrow even happening let alone plans coming to fruition) SO t’other night whilst wandering aimlessly through Tinter’Web I came across a Cyma mosfet edition XM177 on Bullseye , now always had a bit of a crush on that particular AR so I bought it , and when I got in this afternoon it was sat there waiting for me ! 👍 Oh so much a happy chappy ! 😍6 points -

My HAO MK16 rail arrived recently to give me an option besides the MK18 rail on my MWS. To keep it company I've picked up a new PEQ15 and weapon light, some Blaster Devils and Geoffs SP .30s to see which I prefer, some MP7 mags and, because Ground Zero never chrono players and I don't want to be a dick with a hot gun, a chrono2 points

Playairsoft – a Crowd-sourced List of UK Airsoft Sites

Looks like a speed ball field. Yawn Entirely not my style, but as said above. It needs a lot more cover. I would look at digging in some trench systems as well, to give it some variety. Personally, I would want to see a more built up mini village, than two houses and some barriers in the middle. That's going to get really boring, really quick with just a line moving back and forward. Sneaky flanking routes are non existent and locking down areas of that map will be super simple with a half confident team. Meaning everyone is soon going to get all pissy that hey cannot move forwards and then all the shit starts.2 points

Electric blankets kill more people than firearms in the UK. A greater number of people still are killed by sexual contact with other peoples genitals. Licensing things on the basis of aggregate fatalities would see the owners of asbestos ceilinged buildings facing more stringent regimes than firearms owners. The 'it's more dangerous' argument can lead you anywhere the cherry picked stats can display fallacious justification for.2 points -
Firstly welcome, I’ll suggest what others will suggest, take it for a game first, see how you get on. (If you’re anything like I was when I started you’ll nah I wanna spend money on upgrades) haha but seriously go get a game or two under your belt, heavy(er) bb’s and you should be fine.2 points

I’m in too my Pencott GZ as well , I’m currently running Mordor tactical sniper oversuit , boonie or baseball cap , Blackhawk! Light gray knee pads and I’ve got an opscore helmet cover . Rig wise I either run an OG Blackhawk! S.T.R.I.K.E. Plate carrier with GZ pouches on it , or I also have an NI style chest rig in GZ plus a fully loaded belt set up of holster x 1 , fastex mag pouches x 6 , pistol mag pouch x 1 and grenade pouches x 2 plus a dump pouch on my left thigh . Unfortunately haven’t any pics of it but think people can guess what it looks like ? 😁1 point -

Cant afford new, but really looking forward to receiving this FMA Team Wendy Exfil copy.. with headset for my earpro (seeing as TW sued FMA and won, but missing the point that this is not a counterfeit version but a homage, and not a safety helmet.. purely cosplay / airsoft / prop) woot woot! Thats stunning with the real wood grips.. I love me a 1911, I used to have a real one, I'm keen to get a few Airsoft versions, this TM looks amazing.1 point

@Rogerborg I understand where you’re coming from. My SG553 had shit wiring and overload on contacts was causing it to lock up. I’m not sure what batteries the motor or wiring was rated to but anything above 25C in G&G AEGs used to be problematic according to the guy who handled my upgrades. Unless you know exactly what’s in your AEGs and you know what to do with that knowledge the above information would likely do the trick with a margin of safety. I doubt a lot of us here know enough about electrical wiring to play the game of “let’s put the biggest, beefiest battery and see what happens”… What you suggested about rewiring has actually happened to my SG553.1 point -

Yup agree with the above comment , to me this layout looks like your everyday run of the mill American airsoft field that you see on YouTube all the time . By the look of it to me you’ve tried to lay the obstacles out as randomly as possible ? id recommend going for a more formal ‘city block’ layout my self , a centre ‘main road’ (with an open area in the centre that has a large bunker or something in the middle of it) and the other obstacles zigzagged up the sides of this centre ‘road’ . id also build two extra ‘base’ areas one in the large open area to the right of the field and the 2nd in the small corner angle to the left of the field . But that’s just my take on it , keep at it and keep spreading the game !1 point

Haha what a great thread. From a stupid attempt at a half arsed defence to posting a load of rubbish no one cared about to flinging playground insults. Bigshows my new favourite person, shames hes not sticking around.1 point

I would say that looks good but you could fit twice as much cover / barricades / buildings in that space! If you imagine it like a village with 2 meter wide “side streets” and maybe one 4-5m wide “main road” (with maybe a road block / check point on to break it up) When you are laying it out make sure there are some interesting angles on the roads / alley ways to keep people on their toes! Keep us informed as you build this site, looks like it could be a great semi-urban field 😀1 point

Seeking opinions on the various "spitfire" tracer units available
Rogerborg reacted to Enid_Puceflange for a topic
You are right, you are also not wrong 😂 A couple of old fudds who should quite clearly know better and be showing a better example. Neither of whom are wearing eye pro 🤦🏻♂️ I did notice that in the video it seemed to miss “flashing” a couple of shots. Not really sure what is happening there, it does indeed seem to be perfect to the (protected) naked eye 😉1 point -

G&G CM16 Raider Worthwhile Upgrades?
Rogerborg reacted to Tactical Pith Helmet for a topic
I have a daft amount of guns. For skirmishes and non-themed games, I grab the G&G CM16 that I bought years ago when I first started out. In fact, I have a couple of them in slightly different specs. ZCI plastic hop is more set and forget than the standard one, which can creep over time. The standard green hop rubber is pretty good, but a Maple Leaf and Omega nub is obviously a bit better. A decent barrel is a good investment, again ZCI are fine. An SHS high torque motor works well, but you still have the sloppy trigger, so don't worry if you can't afford one off the bat. Checking the two tiny grub screws that keep the outer barrel tight is essential. The lack of barrel support limits what you can do re: accuracy, so don't go mad. When stripping down to fit a new hop/barrel watch that the battery wire doesn't get trapped in front of the gearbox shell as it causes feeding issues. It can also cause mags to refuse to fit if it too loose/pushed against the base of the gearbox shell. Magwel grips can cause waffle/honeycomb mags not to fit. An inline mosfet does no harm. Personally I'd fit barrel, rubber, and hop unit in that order of importance, and only upgrade other items as they break (eventually). Use ZCI bits as I was recommended here a few years back. A better motor won't hurt, and an inline 'fet you can use in your next rif anyway. The upgrades won't add to the minimal re-sale value, so put the stock bits back in if you sell and keep the upgrades for the next rif too.1 point -
And of course the criminals won't be affected and still get their real ones smuggled into the country. Unfortunately its an ongoing issue... Yeah they're more of an issue in the UK but knives are easier to deal with by police once confronted.1 point

G&G CM16 Raider Worthwhile Upgrades?

I used to have air rifles too, BSA Meteor and Jackal Hi-Power. (No hunting) I'm not advocating for any change in legislation but I do find it strange that there are very few requirements (just age) for purchasing an air rifle as opposed to an airsoft rifle even though the air rifle is FAR more dangerous.1 point

G&G CM16 Raider Worthwhile Upgrades?
SSPKali reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
I don't normally recommend 'upgrades', but for the v1.0 Raider I would say inner barrel (stock one is like compressed tinfoil) and a Hi-Torque motor. Nothing else. Not a single penny more unless the stock hop rubber is worn. Then replace that. Otherwise leave it. Then: Use it. Abuse it. Break it. Bin it. I tend to think of the 'old skool' Combat Machines as the Bic Biros of the airsoft world. Bloody handy when they are working good, but not worth trying to fix up when they shit themselves. You will see a slight increase in accuracy with the barrel. The Hi-Torque will largely mitigate the issues with semi-auto lockup (what Fatboy is alluding to) and will give semi auto good trigger response even with lower voltage batteries. And for the front sight....😜:1 point -
Hi, ALL! 👋 Postage came early this morning with the parts I need and hopefully get a 2nd hand RIF working! 🤞 Then can’t wait to test it, take to some sites, a rare sight and makes you a badass on the field! 😂👍 Hopefully put a positive result, when done, shouldn’t take too long…. 🤔 💷GAMBLE💷1 point

Jeez relax SBoardley. You might break your keyboard mate. I wasn’t having a go at you. We’re all just here chatting about toy guns. First of all, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a “fan boy”. I don’t know why folks get a hard on by using that phrase as an insult. I love TM. And what. Secondly. I bought it with my own money. Even if I was gifted an item, I thoroughly test said products and reveal all and any issues surrounding that particular unit. If you happened to have caught any of my videos where I was given free items you’d know that. Reviewers aren’t all alike you know. Thirdly. One of my AK mags struggled to take on enough gas to produce results which I was expecting. My other mags seem to have a better appetite and produce the performance I was looking for. This is a prime opportunity to test out varying levels of the Green Gas Mod to get the best out of that troubled magazine. Also remember that’s not a review. Overview containing my opening impressions on it. I’m still building experience with their latest AKM, and I’ll be making the review once I’ve grasped a good understanding of it. It’s a constantly evolving process that never ends. Reason why I’ve revisited the M4 MWS a few times over the years with its progress.1 point
