TBH I'm not the most IT literate person, but scammers really get up my nose, so if putting literally any info that's relative to them in to the public domain & therefore might curtail their activities, f#ck it, so be it.5 points -

Idk if I should make a dedicated thread, but there is a quite simple scam going around these days (especially in WhatsApp/Telegram groups). Basically the buyer comes up with a screenshot from PayPal in which PP asks for a code. In the meantime the buyer receives said code from PP via SMS. DON'T give that code to the buyer, it's basically a payment request from the buyer, he'll take the money and disappear, nothing you can do really as it seems to be registering as a F&F transfer. Posting because I'm seeing this shit coming up at least twice a day in the telegram groups I'm in. Idk if it's a purely Italian thing or if it happens elsewhere, so be careful guys. It's in Italian, but you get the idea of the screen you're being sent.3 points

I'll see what I can do. Must admit I've not heard of that technique before. Also, please keep your wits about you - Apparently Stephen Glennie is back to his old tricks YET AGAIN on Z1, under another new screen name of Airsoft4U. Don't so swaps with any Northern Ireland post code if you can help it! Apologies to any genuine northern Ireland Airsofters, but Glennie has fucked it for the lot of you.2 points

this is why i like the forum environment, gives you a better feel for the person you're buying/selling with. i'm much less dubious of buying from someone i see posting regularly and being part of the community. of course its understandable that the likes of ebay etc are going to have that extra layer of paranoia surrounding them.2 points -

Watch out for sales by Josh Suvekette/Lucas Perkins So the other night I saw a VFC Glock 17 with spare mag and holster for sale on Airsoft Nation for Β£50 under the name Josh Suvekette. Obviously, thatβs a very low price and the picture, description werenβt the best, so I was on my guard when I messaged Josh. I asked him if the gun was still for sale and if he could send me some more pictures, providing my email. His reply was very short, basically yes itβs still for sale. I then immediately received a payment request from PayPal for Β£50 in the name of Lucas Perkins. Alarm bells started ringing, but I messaged back asking again for pictures with our names on a handwritten note and why was the PayPal request from a Lucas Perkins. He replied that it was his uncle's PayPal and when I pressed for more pictures he said it had sold. Today Iβve seen a post on Airsoft Nation from a guy saying he had bought the gun, but it wasnβt posted. When he chased this up with the seller he got a phone call saying βIβve scammed you.β Apparently this seller has other items up for sale, so definitely one to be wary of.1 point

Thereβs a PTS Mega Arms listed in the swaps section here under the name Deedee. If itβs confirmed dodgy can it be removed? I think this is another example of why we need a dedicated thread where these scams can be posted. Dodgy usernames and listings can be added and users can check through the post before buying. Just a thought.1 point

What colour is that rail? I can't tell from the photo.. Only use good quality BB's! Stay away from Nuprol RZR. Use either Geoff's, BLS, Longbow or G&G. Weight wise anything from 0.28 to 0.32. It will lift unto 0.36 I've heard but on stock power that's pushing it... 0.30 is the sweet spot IMHO... That's just the way it is, I got a bunch from FS for Β£52 a pop.... I could have bought a spare mag practically if I had waited As the NIKE says...1 point

Epic post incoming! So I have fitted all the WiiTech trigger group to my MWS. I purchased this RIF second hand and it had been well used (to be polite!) and I had to give it a good clean out and service the mags as the empty levers weren't moving due to dirt/sand in them! The trigger box was in a similar state but after a strip down, clean and lube up it wasn't too bad, certainly nothing to write home about but better than it had been. Spin forward a year and I purchased a WiiTech marksman sear and fitted that...only to find that it didn't work (2 light strikes rather than a crisp break π) so I removed that, replaced the worn TM semi-sear and shimmed the sear, hammer and trigger pivots to eliminate some of the play and torsion binding that wasn't helping the trigger feel. Last month I splashed out Β£60 for a WiiTech hammer and hammer&sear spring kit from the great Fire-Support thinking that this might play nicer with the Marksman sear. I tried this with the Marksman sear and still had the same, dangerous, issues. So in a fit of crazyness I purchased a complete set of WiiTech trigger parts direct from the manufacturer, excluding the hammer and hammer&sear springs, but including a regular semi-sear. After 2 weeks and an extra Β£12 to ParcelFarce I had the parts in my hand. The material and finish quality is the same as the other parts; ie smooth, precision machining and black chemical finish. I fitted the parts after thoroughly cleaning the trigger box shell and the parts I was keeping in. I used some Graphite lock lubricant on the parts as I assembled them as it is meant to lubricate precision mechanisms and the "dry" formula won't attract dirt like oil or grease do. Top tip - wear gloves, it gets *everywhere* and don't lean too close when spraying it as it is a powerful jet and you will end up with a shiny face if not careful! With the parts fitted I tested it out of the receiver (sans trigger pin) and there was a smooth, crisp pull and no slop. Reset was positive and audible, it not quite as crisp as the let off point. Once I had it all reassembled I tested it and hit the only snag...with the AngryGun ambi selector semi was full auto too ππ± I replaced it with the stock TM one and it worked fine, I think it wasn't allowing the disconnector to rise enough, I tried fettling it but gave up and stuck with the stock TM one. I shoot lefthanded but can still manipulate a right handed selector. Note self: Never buy AG stuff I have included a video below of a before and after video and one showing the trigger reset. I have also hosted the after vids on Instagram, search alex_random_76 In short, although it probably cost me Β£170 all in it is worth every penny. WiiTech trigger parts can go on the list with SixG parts, Hao Mk16 rail, RATech black NPAS and DynamicPrecision lightweight bolt that is titled "MWS upgrade parts that actually work and are worth spending money on" It isn't a long list π 20201021_141414.mp4 20201021_150510.mp4 20201021_152138.mp41 point -

Unfortunately not. Banks do not have the power to remove funds from someone elseβs bank account without a court order and this scenario would be a civil matter. Itβs infuriating but I think these rules are in place to prevent scammers gaining access to bank funds via the bank itself. Desperate or not I think scammers are scumbags. And cowards. Hiding behind their anonymity online and preying on peopleβs naivety. A lump hammer to the back of the hands would be too good for them Updateπ1 point -

Going through https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/transfer/homepage/request and requesting money from another version of myself it appears to be a F&F payment - there's no mention of fees at either end. That's distinct from an invoice https://www.paypal.com/invoice/create which is what I send and ask people to send, and which does attract fees and has the protections. Although I'm way less than 99% sure of that.1 point

I have had my rant here instead of on site LOL. Yes a good aeg with 28BBs or above will hit 60M maybe even 65 but a lot of the knobs out there do not set their guns up or get their hop to work as it should. Had to replace the hop rubber on the DMR after Sunday as it started to spray erratically towards the end. My son in law found it too much and just quit after shooting the opposition and then being shouted at to take his hits when the BBs they shot did not reach him.0 points
