Gbb guns
Rogerborg and 5 others reacted to gavinkempsell for a topic
Don't do it... you obviously don't know what type/style of pew you like, try as many aeg's as you can first or you'll be spending a fortune to only regret the purchase & we'll/I'll end up offering you 60-70% what you paid when it ends up in the classifieds. If that's not the answer you want to hear go onto youtube and watch as many gbbr video's as you can. If you do buy a GBBR, get a Calico, CZ Scorpion, L85A2 or a G3 etc coz I don't have one of these yet.6 points -

Should be. But given the QC of airsoft, you could also find that you've bought 4" of extra wonkiness at end of what might have been the perfect barrel if the cut had fallen in a different spot.3 points

M4 AEG to DMR
Skullchewer and one other reacted to Lozart for a topic
Thing is though, it doesn't make it a sniper rifle, does it? While yes, I agree that to many it's just semantics the whole "is an M4 a DMR just because it has higher FPS and scope slapped on it" is a valid argument. Given that the whole basis for the need of an exemption under the VCRA is that we want our toys to be "realistic", running a 400FPS pistol with a 1J boltie sidearm just seems a bit disingenuous.2 points -

Had this in bits due to a dead trigger board for a couple of years, and finally got around to sorting it out. Acquired a new stock tube and upper receiver rail to complete it, and now have it finished! Swapped out the gearbox from my full length version which is currently being built up as a DMR to put in this one, along with a PDI 6.05 barrel and 50º Archwick bucking, I'll be looking forward to trying it out! Brings the total of working VZ58s I have to 4 now.2 points

Quick KS-1 Build
Caj109 reacted to Jez_Armstrong for a topic
Quick KS-1 build yesterday afternoon, from a brand new G&G SR15 E3 imported from @redwolfairsoftofficial delivered at 4pm, stripped and painted in NFM Coyote paint, SLK stock, Leupold LCO, Prototype printed Vampir LAM, my own deisngned and printed PRT and sleeve from early 2023, Surefire scout light, PTS grip, 3D printed Unity riser and generic handstoo, additional parts fitted - Deans and Warhead motor @K42J1 point -
As all the above. I have a few GBBRs but I still haven't used them in a game yet because of the necessity to bring loads of mags WITH extra BBs and gas into the game. And you'll still be outgunned by anyone with a couple of hi-caps If you really want an entry GBBR to use in the garden then the cheapest option is the WE G36 BUT the internal parts will only last a few thousand shots before the trigger sear wears out so be prepared to buy spares from KYAirsoft1 point

Gbb guns
Skullchewer reacted to gavinkempsell for a topic
This is why you should think again... the TM MP7 is around £300 brand spanking new out the box with 1 mag.1 point -
Same deal. Pretty much all gas magazines are expensive. Just sort by cheapest on places like Patrolbase, the cheapest GBB M4 is £250 and the mags, which are out of stock, are £50 each and only hold 50 BBs each, so you're going to spend just as much on magazines as you are for the rifle.1 point
-
Yeahhhh, for that budget you will get a KWA mp9 and *maybe* one spare magazine if you're lucky. Since the magazines are 48rds, you need a lot more than a single spare magazine. GBB SMGs and rifles are unfortunately expensive to get into because the magazines are hella expensive and you need a bunch.1 point

The blue dust motor was a black no brand one that came with the random AK parts I got from on here a while back. The new motor was out of a Cyma and works fine!1 point

I'd assume Customs went in ham-fisted hoping that this time they'd be busting the Lord of War, rather than finding more assault-style-toys. Great news that the contents were fine anyway.1 point

Importing Airsoft gun (IF) into UK
gavinkempsell reacted to JuggyUK for a topic
Received my order, box is quite damaged but the items inside are OK. Either customs treated the parcel very badly or Gunfire used insufficient packaging. I cannot be sure if the gun box was in another box1 point -
That's a little bit of a Frankengun with the Olde Worlde front post, but a new fangled RIS handguard. That's handguard doesn't really add extra value for a purchaser unless you can find one that's after that specific combination. And grips, suppressors and mags are more what you'd call free gifts or sweeteners. I reckon that's a Delta Armory DA-A02-ETU ALPHA, so £250 new, so maybe £175 used for the base gun. £200 isn't an unreasonable ask - and you might get it at this time of year - but unspecified "upgrades" would actually put me off. I wouldn't even mention that, just what it's chronoing at, if you know. Expect plenty of lowball offers, and "Swap for... ?" asks.1 point

Adventurous. I like it! I agree. Might be coming off an anodised metal piston or something similar.1 point

Don’t know what to seek for
Rogerborg reacted to Cr0-Magnon for a topic
My main concern if I were a potential buyer, would be this guns history. You see these come up in the classifieds all the time, with one dark and/or blurry picture on someone's duvet (usually also featuring the photographers feet). "I got this off a mate, who got it off some bloke at a game day. He reckons it's had some upgrades, dunno what or how old it is. Please give me £20 less than retail. Collection only, thanks" Put some effort into the ad and you may get around 60% of the new price. Hopefully you can at least recall how much you paid?1 point -

I have never seen a gun exclusively tooled up for resident evil models. There may be a RE version like the Sig's, Berretta's and Desert Eagles but also a vanilla version for general consumption.1 point

A good guide is that an essentially "as new" gun should be priced at about 65-70% of retail. If you do not know what the upgrades are, you cannot factor them into the price.1 point -

University airsoft
Madhouse reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
We would have been fookked on many levels if they did this when I was at university. After we left halls (a large house just of campus) apparently we were the straw that broke the camels back and next year it was converted to an Islamic Studies department. Multiple times the Student's union bar manager had to walk 300m up the river bank to ask us to turn our music down 😎. University tradition was to invite final year students to return to halls.....we had no such invitation. Academia was very much second fiddle to the University of Life. Thinking about the carnage we caused with hair clippers and CO2 fire extinguishers.... I dread to think what could have been achieved with RIFs and pyros. 🥶. Fun times. Thankfully the year before a Labour (of all things) government brought in tuition fees. One of the first things we did in private rentals was work out how to "hinder" the smoke alarms. It was embarrassing how often they went off during Fresher's Week...... Of which I have stories I will not risk the boy reading here 🫣. Long live the 90's.1 point
