Well this is good news I think, HobbyKing are re-opening their UK warehouse, so some decent cheap batteries will be available to compete with the usual Nuprol stuff... The scene is a funeral wake. Several people have given moving tributes to the deceased, and now the grieving widow asks if anybody else would like to add anything. A man stands up. ‘May I say a word?’ he asks. ‘Of course,’ says the widow. ‘Plethora,’ says the man. ‘Thank You: that means a lot,’ replies the widow.3 points -

WTS: King Arms M1A1 M1 Carbine, refinished (wood + receiver), with real WW2 PARTS

Hey all, Selling this as got some unexpected expenses on the way, open to offers, need to move it, shipping included in the price. After picking up dust for a little while I decided to sell my custom M1A1 M1 carbine. This is originally a King Arms M1A1 I have reworked to closely resemble the pattern actually used during WW2, as you may know the carbine didn't originally look "period correct". I've added a couple of original parts, those being the rear sight (L sight) and an original type 1 handguard band, Underwood Inland made, same as the ones who actually made the M1A1. An oiler bottle has also been added to the stock. The receiver and other ally parts have been reblued and the original black paint has been removed, will wear better overtime and give it a better look. The entire stock has been refinished, stained and oiled, no more varnish. The bolt and the safety have been reworked as well, they remain functional. May need a new bolt/nozzle however, but it still shoots, unable to test the FPS. Comes in its original box, with one loader and one mag. Any questions or anything of the sort, shoot me a message! Thanks in advance and have a great day!£300

Been researching different gas pressures for my TM MWS. Usually using ASG Ultrair (beige bottle) and found this handy video comparing different gasses. “Airsoft Mike” Youtube video shows the following (amongst others): Nuprol 1.0 - 320fps ASG Ultrair - 345fps V6 - 365fps V8 - 375fps Nuprol 3.0 - 375fps Obviously it will vary from platform to platform but a handy guide to, in the words of “Play Your Cards Right”, higher or lower? 😁2 points -
I think my favourite part is "Cyma AK47 with extras", and then "the extras are extra".2 points

This is coming out soon - should be a much lower cost base gun (albeit all plastic) to stick some upgrades on. Both are Edge 2.0 - the only difference is the cosmetics. Internals should be the same, assuming they both came out of the factory around the same time. There have been rolling updates to the Edge series to resolve QA issues, so there might be minor variances in component choice.2 points -

A 75-year-old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk. The Receptionist said, 'Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?' 'There's something wrong with my dick', he replied. The receptionist became irritated and said, 'You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that.' 'Why not, you asked me what was wrong and I told you,' he said. The Receptionist replied; 'Now you have caused some needless embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something and discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private.' The man replied, 'You should not ask people questions in a roomful of strangers if the answer could embarrass anyone.' The man then decided to walk out, waited several minutes and then re-entered. The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, 'Yes??' 'There's something wrong with my ear,' he stated loudly. The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. 'What is wrong with your ear, Sir?' 'I can't piss out of it,' he replied.2 points -

Often used as wall hangers rather than in games APS CAM870 AK12 MP5SD The amount of people who've asked about my MP5 when I've played with it has me thinking they're considered rare in the UK.1 point -

Viper Vx stuff has a similar issue in that they also have non-compatible clips - but the viper ones could be modded to remove a sliver of plastic on the sides of the clip. This allowed me to attach a chest rig to a Thing2 clone. Unless all of the accessories are genuine, real steel items, genuine Peqs and Eotech’s etc, which they clearly aren’t, there is nothing here to justify £1000, never mind £5000. I wonder if he meant £500 and added an extra 0 by mistake.1 point

"Modified Honey Badgers" in what way? Just slapped on a PEQ box (are they laser & LED, LED only or battery box?), a hand grip and a 552 RDS to be "tacticool" or in addition to the previous ergonomic mods, a comprehensive list of internal upgrades were made to give some semblance of justification for the price? "Canadian Colt M4 with scope, modified...450fps" Modified to make it a hot AEG that a buyer would have to go to further expense and/or effort to make it legal or modified to safe or semi-auto only for a DMR? I won't understand those who want to charge what looks like a huge markup worth but they won't be clear about what they're selling and itemise the "modified" bits to inspire any confidence. At face value, £2500 would be generous, never mind £5000.1 point

There was a fierce battle between the Cowboys and Indians. The Indians captured one of the Cowboys and took him to their village. The Indian Chief greeted the Cowboy and told him, “You must die in three days, but you get one wish per day. What is your first wish?” The Cowboy said, “Can you bring my horse?” The Indians brought the Cowboy’s horse, and the Cowboy whispered into the horse’s ear. The horse ran off to town and came back with a beautiful blonde. The Cowboy took the blonde in a teepee and made love to her. On the second day, the Chief told the Cowboy he must die in two days and asked what his second wish was. The Cowboy asked if they could bring his horse again. The Cowboy whispered in the horse’s ear again; the horse ran off to town and returned with a voluptuous redhead. The Cowboy took the redhead in a teepee and made love to her. On the third day, the Chief told the Cowboy you must die today and asked him what his third wish was. The Cowboy requested his horse again. The Chief whispered under his breath, “Crazy White Man.” The Cowboy grabbed the horse by his ears, looked straight into the horse’s eyes, and said, “Read my fucking lips; I said bring Posse!”1 point -

The holy trinity - firepower-mobility-protection. Improve one, compromise the others. Which is one of the reasons why, in Afghanistan, the casualty became the mission. L85A3 “makes weight savings for the frontline soldier…of 100 grams”… What’s the effing point?! Project Payne has been around for donkey’s years, everybody talks the talk but there just isn’t the close logistic support chain to actually make it work. Modernisation and “Future Soldier” rumbles on - I was involved in FIST 😳 back in 2006-2008, blue force tracker, optics, lightweight batteries, etc, etc “lighten the load”! Most of it never materialised and, by and large, any weight savings are usually made up by carrying the extra ammo.1 point -
I could have been at DSEI this week, but have been doing other work things and not been able to dedicate a day out. It would have been interesting, particularly that Future Soldier stand - Future Soldier covers many things, and in my current role the context is at very high level on the structuring of the Army, but a few years back I was involved in a few projects under the Future Soldier programme and I did get to go out on the Plain to get a hands on understanding of the equipment, needs and experience of those out on the ground (AKA play with the cool toys) with current equipment, future and potential future equipment. A good one I once saw was two side by side displays - integrated future soldier with all the fancy equipment like the guy photographed above, under development and trials to military specifications but next to ‘eBay soldier’ equipped with off the shelf gadgets - highlighting that the vision of the high tech soldier of tomorrow was what ‘todays soldier’ was at that time encountering with the opposition in Afghanistan etc As @The_Lord_Ponchopoints out all these come as added weight (plus other issues*) Project Payne is frustrating for those involved. Every time the load is lightened, or redistributed the result tends to be that more gets carried and if in doubt the extra thing carried is ammunition Project Payne is named after a soldier at Normandy who had been photographed to illustrate the equipment carried by infantry in June 1944, and is used to illustrate customisable load carrying that is suitable for the task and minimising carrying just in case. Another example highlighted in Payne was Long Tan where the Australians on patrol found themselves in action for hours but didn’t run out of ammunition, despite opting to go out with only the standard load * For example quick release body armour /webbing - Make a vehicle more survivable over an IED/mine and then you get live soldiers trapped in an upside down or submerged vehicle, or body armour that protects you from being shot but slows you down making it more likely that you get shot1 point

If you want a Holographic style optic, I have a SOTAC branded XPS3 from Ebay and it works a treat. Bright enough for use outdoors on a sunny day but doesn't have huge issues with parallax in my experience but it does exist, it always will with cheap airsoft optics. They're pushing the top end of 'budget' in airsoft but it's worth it. Between that and my HolyWarrior S1 XPS3 I struggle to choose which is better. The HW S1 has an annoying habbit of not turning on/not accepting CR123A batteries, i've spent 20+ min finger fucking it before it works where the SOTAC one just turns on instantly, zero issues. The HW however has light levels low enough to be used with NVGs (for the ultra larpers that use them which rules out 99% of players) The SOTAC can be green or red reticule, whichever you prefer. There's an ebay store called "mk1_tactical" who sells a lot of SOTAC branded gear. You'd likely benefit from their Comp M2 offering. A mistake people often mistake is buying an optic that is too low (due to face protection) meaning they have to bend their neck into a strange place to get a good sight picture. After realising their mistake they buy a riser. The Comp M2 i've linked earlier comes with the riser/mount meaning you're unlikely to have this issue.1 point

Blackshadow5354 reacted to Skullchewer for a topic
If you haven't heard of Ready or Not, it is a game still in development, It is very reminiscent of the early Rainbow 6 games, or SWAT4. (I believe some of the dev team worked on R6 games back in the day, but I may be mistaken) Here's what the steam page says: "Ready or Not is an intense, tactical, first-person shooter that depicts a modern-day world in which SWAT police units are called to defuse hostile and confronting situations." Kick in doors, free hostages, you know the drill. Tonight a bunch of noobs will be playing it. I am one of those noobs. If you're bored on a Friday evening, like this sad sack, and feel like seeing what the game is like then here's my youtube live stream. We'll be starting soon.1 point -
