    Ammo pouch

Ok so this may sound daft but I’ve been airsofting for about 15 years now and been using this for roughly the same amount of time and it works ok be prepared to be amazed and it’s something that most of us having lying around the house, especially a few weeks after Christmas when we have finished up those quite frankly unwanted gifts from relatives….. a lynx body wash bottle. Obviously make sure it’s clean and totally dry first but trust me, they work perfectly. Fit great into an M4 mag pouch, holds probably a thousand or so rounds, remove the cap and the pouring spout is great for filling high caps and speed loaders. And unless you’re getting really low on ammo, it doesn’t rattle anywhere near as much as you’d think it would.

MWS mostly done. Will eventually replace the repro CTR stock with a real-steel Magpul one and will probably get a Visionking scope for it to replace the Strike Systems one on it at the moment. Might get a 45 degree mount for a red dot for close shooting, but we'll see. Also, with the suppressor off and the stock all the way in, it fits in the smaller rifle pouch of my larger gun bag, so I can take both it and one of my (many) bolt actions in one bag now

Well, turns out I'm not 'a man' but I am a dick... picked them all up & isolated them in the origional carton then proceded to fill my speed loaders (with fresh bb's) which arrived today and turned one upside down to see how the handle opens out and promptly dumped the fresh bb's on the floor too. Think I'll just go to bed before I fall down the bloody stairs or something. Icing on the cake is, I found the rear sight from a glock & a tiny spring which I suspect it's from the blowback lever on an L85A1 I have getting fixed at the moment. NN lol.

  7. In the interests of completeness (i.e. stopping my slight OCD from kicking-in, for not posting this), here are my results with the M906C with the ZCI barrel + hop unit on board Basically a 2" group with a couple of flyers. Pretty good! I'm not sure why it's looking better than the same barrel + hop + gearbox in the 904G... Either 1) The outer barrel is a better fit for this barrel and hop (I certainly felt no need to wrap any tape around it, it's a decent fit with no real wriggle-room or 2) Twenty shots isn't a good statistical base, and it was down to luck! I might want to shim the back end of the barrel - that is also a good fit, but the locating rails/ridges on the outside of the hop allow a degree or two of rotation against the inside of the receiver. If the gun's vibration rotate the barrel that would affect the direction of hop, and therefore the accuracy. By how much in practice, I'm not sure... but it's something I could address anyway. I shimmed the stock bolt in the 904G with some washers, that's now fine. Back-up / family & friends gun now ready to roll!

    Possible New VFC Products

Some interesting photos on VFC’s Facebook page from their stall at TADTE 2023. Nothing close up or specific, but definitely an MP5SD and a bunch of M16’s. Hopefully all GBB’s. Looks like M16A1 with original and later handguards, also an M203 setup which would be awesome, and what looks like an M16A4. If these are GBB’s coming out next year then my bank account is going to be taking a hammering again. It’s a shame there’s nothing there with the A2 style carry handle though.

wash them with a colander under running water and some soap, otherwise you won't get rid of the dust enough

  15. BE CAREFUL with those tabs. If they snap you'll need a new receiver.
    1 point
  16. Has someone changed the hop unit? The original is a two part unit that should come apart when you split the receiver. If it's the original receiver but an aftermarket, one piece hop unit then the hop unit itself may be getting stuck as the receiver has a different profile.

  19. Is it a polymer body? It might be the older type with “rear ears” that the rear body pin goes through. These you only need to remove the rear pin and carefully pivot the upper around the front pin. Search out the TM M733 AEG manual for instructions and pictures.

Frankly I'm a fat f*cker and the thought of even 'just' a belt with nothing attached gives me the fear... Braces all the way & some form of PLCE or chest rig. I even have my leg holster attached to PLCE (just in case).

  25. For all the DE M900's I've taken apart the spring guides are the same, but a definite problem is that the rings that hold the ball bearings are made of papier-mâché and can bend at the slightest touch making them a bugger to take out and put back in sometimes. To help you and others I've about three different spring guides at home that I've tried as replacements for the stock DE one, and every single one is ever so slightly out on size, so use DE M900 users have to look after the stock spring guide as it can't be replaced (unless anyone has found it anywhere as a spare part). Personally I'm assuming if things ever go bang big style with the gearbox I'll end up having to buy a new quick change gearbox shell and guide

  26. They are rare. I've only ever seen one for sale; I bought it and had it modified to 14mm CCW to fit my GHK. Incidentally, I still have the original, unmodified 16mm CW barrel stub from mine - if you want that as a spare, or to put on another AUG or something, just drop me a PM. It was done by cutting a Hephaestus steel outer barrel down - each bit is full steel, including the gas block. S, M, XXL Not sure why I insist on waiting until I'm selling something to take decent pictures of it, but all three bits (the pistol, the light, the holster) of this slice of 2000s Navy SEAL life are sadly for sale.

  27. It's £25, make an educated guess. Good optics cost money, that said airsoft guns are not so accurate that bad parallax actually makes much of a difference. It can be annoying but that's about it.

    Spring strengths...

It all comes down to the quality of the material / steel used and how it's been "treated". You can have have springs that can be in service for decades, in industrial applications, that retain their strength and shape but cheap nasty ones that compress incredibly quickly. Personally I've found the XT springs from AK2M4 brilliant, definitely better than another trusted brand like Guarder. They're really consistent in their strength, so you can use them in almost any gun and know what you're getting, and I've had zero power drops over time. They also produce an M95 which is very useful is you have a great air-seal and an M100 takes you just over a Joule limit

I felt the need to show this one off. After years of searching I somehow managed to stumble upon this wonderful TM Aug A1 with the steel HBAR kit with the correct bipod and flash hider. Not sure how rare these kits are but I’ve only come across a small hand-full of these. Just wish I could get myself a drum mag for it it. The inner barrel is a ridiculous 655mm in length

  34. You are clearly not taking into account the patches that are adding value. That coupled with the total blackness of the fabric (or the piss poor quality of photos) is obviously enough to add stealth points and some ££... Good find, still a dreamer

    What have you made?

Need to dust off my 3D printer - but my next project is a super-minimalist fixed battery stock for G&G receivers (ARP9 Etc). Designed to hold at least a 2200mAh 11.1v LiPo - some smaller 3000mAh packs should also fit. Length is around the same as stubby length M16 fixed stocks - good for the speedybois and/or smaller statures.

  36. I made a trip out to the wilds this morning and popped in at Halfords, found these... £6 each, they're not too thick so retain some flexibility. Each one can be cut in half to make 'larger than A4' stoppers, so I'll arrange them such that they're dangling by paracord and will stop ~95% of my shots. I'll re-arrange the yoga mat strips as the first line of defence (to quieten the impact, hopefully) The odd flyer can be caught by everything else. I wanted something vaguely weatherproof in case the rain blows in on it... but carpet would've been good enough to last for a good long while though, given it's mostly nylon these days. So that was a good shout. I could've saved £12!

  37. Well these are a Kickstarter product which I have backed and currently in production phase. So will let you all know when they arrive and test them. But I am looking forward to them. Also I wear prescription glasses and will be looking for some rated lenses for them. They have partnered up with a usa and uk glasses company for said service so when they arrive will get that done too. But they do look good and hopefully they do whats said on the tin K

  41. Why have an ‘or’ when an ‘and’ will do just as well? Avoid combining stamps, trains and anoraks at once - the unholy trinity may cause the end of the world, or ruin the sticky side of your stamps out in the damp air These nerds are on a day out to the highest station in the U.K. at Corrour ….. which isn’t far from Spean and the Commando monument where they could have had a nice sit down on the bench for their picnic & vaguely slips back on topic The majority of people couldn’t care less what you wear & how accurate or thrown together a ‘look’ is There will always be that one guy who will either call you out for being inaccurate with the wrong or missing badges or for daring to have badges and ‘calling out’ a spotty teenager for ‘walting’ as a steeley eyed dealer of death Everyone knows airsofters are playing a game of dress up, some may look down, some may love their eBay income inflated by ‘SAS issue’ spammed in the title A minor top tip on getting the British Army look to be just right is to not wear anything as per regulations Thats for recruits who have to comply with the instructor On arrival at unit they then have to comply with the new shouty man with the badges & stick and what he (maybe she) tells them on how to wear kit Then they learn what they can get away with replacing with shiney kit from their surplus cash burning holes in pockets Followed by learning what falls apart and is best left to free exchange at Q&Ms, and can be supported overseas Find some photos of an era you like, recreate a look that you like

  42. i've always gone with generic kit is fine, and just don't go as far to start putting patches/insignia on that'll point to a very specific unit. but then i don't even bother with the comedy/non serious patches and am entirely mystified by how involved some folk are with them, although the world is full of hobbies that mystify me like trainspotting or stamp collecting....

  43. My take has always been if your dressed like a SEAL team 6&3/4’s operatooor or a Spetnaz ninja assassin ? Crack on unlikely your going to cross paths with a real one ?😆 British kit ? As long as your not being a twat again just crack on BUT stay away from Reg badges/rank slides/qualification patches anything like that as some could be offended . Savy ? 😉

  44. Devils advocate: Maybe this person can't join up for reasons beyond their control (medical grounds, disabilities or age for instance) but wishes to live out this fantasy in the nearest way possible. I say go for it, dress up. If you felt obligated to do so you could explain to those who look concerned/disgruntled as to why you're in the attire you've chosen. Show them your best "war face" and kill them all. Live your dream. Enjoy it and have fun. Just don't wear medals, take the role too seriously or use corps/regiment/branch slang/try to pass off as a genuine. Its not like you're walking around in public like this (which is wrong and would bring your integrity, morales and respect into question). Oh, almost forgot......take your hits.

  45. Not necessarily, I turned up at a site years ago, & a team turned up, teens & early twenties, total shower of shit bar one, he claimed to have previously been TA & still had access to berets & cap badges, so in his infinite wisdom thought would mark them out as a team if they all wore them. Thing is, it was my regiments beret & badge, I worked hard for mine & I'd had a couple of mates die wearing theirs, so seeing a bunch of long haired wankers make absolute cnuts of themselves in them really fucked me off, & I told them so🤬. While that situation is rare, my experience shows it can happen, so I'd always tell people in threads like this, be careful, act with respect & if in doubt, don't do it.
