I agree with searches when things go missing. Its an unfortunate necessity to deal with assholes who usually get away with it. The good thing is that if a site had the reputation of searches when things go missing, I bet that site would have fewer incidents.4 points -

I think you're vastly over-estimating the accuracy of airsofters and their guns. I bring my crosshair somewhat over the often moving player and when I pull the trigger, a small plastic sphere weighing only around a quarter of a gram is pushed through a non-rifled barrel. This projectile hopefully makes contact with any part of my opponents body or equipment, sometimes I'm even evil enough to pull the trigger a couple of times on top, just to increase my chances.3 points -

We play a game that involves getting shot at so complaining about getting shot just makes you look like an idiot. You're an adult so if you choose not to wear full face protection that's your problem. It makes a change from the usual HPA users are all cheaters bullshit3 points -

Bit of a grey area, I believe pace can only be applied by officers "on" duty, and/or, following an official report of a crime. That said, the only people to object usually would be: A. YouTube auditors B. GenZ snowflakes C. CRIMINAL CNUTS All of the above deserve internal cavity searches, ideally by someone with hands like Pat Jennings 😈2 points

You didn't post that though did you, all your post stated was that several times you were shot in the face. As usual you're changing what your complaining about when pulled up on it. Also the NAF is renowned for shitty play so expecting anything else is naive at best2 points -

Damn right; anyone who has stolen from other players should not be welcome at any site. I don't know if it still exists, but there used to be a FB group where site owners/managers shared details of the more problematic players, who tended to find themselves unwelcome wherever they tried to go.2 points -
Yep same thing happened once at the prison in old Pompey.£20 went missing. Boss man made the announcement that if it was returned all's well. It was returned. I vocalised that if the person that took it was known, then he/she should not be welcomed back.I recall that that opinion was met with mixed murmers. We invest a lot of money in gear and then just go off and leave it. Airsoft is built on trust and honesty and I for one would like it to stay that way.🙂 Regards2 points

how difficult would this be to make for airsoft
JinxDuh reacted to Half Cocked Armoury for a topic
That is mechanically simpler than an airsoft conversion to a denix flintlock I'm afraid. Looking to make a batch of 1861 Springfields though hopefully will have a field tested prototype by spring. I find the lack of US civil war airsoft guns (there are only 2 on the market and both discontinued) a bit odd.1 point -
Yeah i had a farsan double barrel aswell and converted it to aps shells, sold it on here before i even got any shells to test it like a melon, granted it looked nice and was cool but it just didnt hit the spot for me. i irritate myself by getting bored quickly with every gun i have because its not exactly what i wanted, but i suppose thats because i like oldie odd guns and theres not much really odd these days, the reality is the hawsan/farsan is the closest ill get to a single break action shotty i think which is a shame unless a manufacturer makes one in the future1 point

Bravo are the new HPA. Are you really complaining about getting hit on the lenses? That happens. I suspect that you are massively overestimating the accuracy of airsoft toys and the ability of those who use them. You really should take up a more suitable hobby; maybe you could try macramé.1 point -
Never truly off duty, there’s a legal obligation under Police Regs. PACE s1 can be applied anytime as long as there’s a suspicion somebody may have/be about to commit an offence - see all the media outrage over use of S&S by the Met Police…!1 point

I imagine, if there were (off-duty) police officers present, they could probably utilise their Stop/Search powers under s1 of PACE.1 point

So are you saying that all the bravo team(1000) were cheating? I could mention incidents with delta and the others but I won't. But is there anyone here who can say they have never experience the issues you have described? It happens bud but please don't carpet bomb every player as a cheater. 👍 Regards1 point

I think you expect too much from GZ/NAF. 'Good' gameplay eludes that site even on a 'standard' skirmish day, so sticking 3000 players on it will definately not help matters. Again - I would bet my left nut that Bravo players are saying similar things about Delta. Can you vouch for the 'honourable play' of the other 1.5k players on your team? I don't think so.1 point -

Cr0-Magnon reacted to gavinkempsell for a topic
I've recently bought one from the classifieds & very happy with it, compared to my TM MP7 it looks plain but sturdier than the MP7, I'm sure a mini torch, fore grip & RDS will be fitted soon enough. Both are great fun to shoot but I get a fair bit of gas blow back in my face from the VMP 1. No I don't have a MP9 (yet) to compare it to.1 point -

Me? Yeah, well I'm still 'between contracts' so essentially skint when it comes to 'luxury purchases'. Given I can run my VFC 416 to scratch my GBBR itch, then 'luxury' is what it comes down to. (Plus the Spec Ops CQB site still hasn't opened, so the need for a teeny-tiny not-a-pistol isn't really there yet) I'm currently playing quite a lot of Battlefield 2042 where the MP9 is a nice gun to use - if that becomes an influence, well, I'd want an actual MP91 point -

Alrighty so a bit of an update on my MWS DMR build m. Started off as a banged up second hand CQBR, and is now a URGI-ish bb slinger. I’ve made the following modifications: eagle6 upgraded nozzle return spring Poseidon ice pick high flow valve mapleleaf MR bucking 60 SixG super Nub 14.5 inch 6.03 Laylax inner barrel zparts mk16 DD steel outer barrel zparts 13inch geissele hand guard magpul MOE+ pistol grip magpul CTR stock VFC BCM grip Olight Odin It’s doing around 300-310 fps on .40 BBs on green gas. Happy with the results so far and don’t think I could squeeze and more out of it ! Anyone else have success with DMR builds ?1 point -
might be barking up the wrong tree here but i thought that 12G magflashes were less popular at sites now because of insurance liability all of the usual 'store bought' blank ammo we use is made and tested to specific industry standards to which the manufacturing companies will be held accountable if something goes wrong a small, individual, sole trader type person making blank rounds for use by the public in an open setting might be manufacturing the ammo to a very high standard but without the relevant lab tests to legally confirm this no insurance liability company is going to be comfortable with their use by the general public. happy to be wrong on this bc i would love to see these types of blanks being used more widely again1 point

Oddly enough - our resus team state not to bother with the breaths being that there's enough residual o2 in the blood stream to sustain and ultimately keeping blood flow is the main priority, but then again our training is based on the fact we have a crash bag with air delivery options available and we have to wear ffp3 masks which prevents us being able to mouth to mouth anyway.1 point

First Aid Kits
Jacob Wright reacted to Gryph for a topic
I'm a response bobby, so I carry a first aid pouch in my rucksack when I'm out and about, and have a repro BFG micro trauma kit on my belt. I've also got a little boo boo pouch that lives in my trouser pocket and definitely sees more use than the FAK. Boo boo kit has varying types of drugs (all legal, I swear), plasters and some 3M tape. I think that everyone should carry a small kit for whingeries - you never know when you need a plaster and you look like a bit of a dick if everyone has bandages and CATs, but no one has a plaster. As for the CPR debate, current training in my force is 30 compressions and 2 breaths, but we carry the full face seals so I don't have to smooch the casualty. With that being said, our first aid training upsets people because there's some techiniques we're taught that people don't like (i.e. removing crash helmets)1 point -

Let me see if I can dig up some more info. As far as I’m aware there is no such effect. I know people who do the mod in builds running 70 RPS+, but of course it depends on what you use, where you put it, how much, etc. Let me see if I can ask some the high RPS techs how it wears in.1 point

Goodwin's law Agreed. To many people nowadays think they can treat others like shit and then get all upset when they get the same treatment back. I'm willing to bet that those complaining or refusing wouldn't have the same attitude if it was their property that was nicked This reminds me of an incident many years ago at electrowerkz. Part way through the evening a player realised his wallet had gone walkies. Staff were informed and as it happened a few of the regulars were serving police officers. An announcement was made about what had happened, that nobody would be leaving and unless the wallet turned up they would start searches of kit and people. Fortunately said wallet did turn up and games started up again.1 point -
Gun picture thread

Done a few projects in the meantime. First, I *finally* found a Kaiju; the gun that originally got me into new-gen KWAs before the seller backed out and I ended up buying my Black Cherry TK45 a few years back. Well, now I have the Kaiju as well after all these years. It was a store display model too so its like new, and the seller had a set of mags cerakoted to match, so I have the full set of 7. I have also worked out all the kinks on my converted APS CAM870 mk2. Mods include a bunch of dremelling to take a HPA tap, cutting through a QD sling point to route the line, two MatchSavers mounted to the side of the new Magpul handguard for quick topping off, some modifications to fit both a APS shell-catcher and top rail, a +1 printed mag tube extension, and some smaller bits and pieces scattered throughout. I also have been working with biodegradable filaments to print short-lifespan shotshells that can be fired and left behind; the bio PETG works decently but I want to try the algae-based PLA as well. Here it is in action: IMG-7666.mov And the tons of shells Ive been printing and testing:1 point -

Gryph reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
You're certainly not being silly for being concerned about your health and anyone who says otherwise is a cnut who should be ignored. Have you tried bending the mesh into a more comfortable? If this isn't possible then I'd go with TPH's suggestion of attaching the mask to a helmet. Replica brain buckets can be picked up quite cheaply on Amazon or Ebay. My other half gets quite bad eczema and unfortunately 99% of the over the counter creams like E45 are absolutely useless1 point -

Gryph reacted to Tactical Pith Helmet for a topic
Mesh masks for chainsaw work are safety rated and have frames that hold them away from the face. If you checked the safety rating and tested one, it might be possible to mount one to an airsoft helmet. You could measure the ID of the masks arms and find a cheap helmet that would go between them. It wouldn't stop you from using the Bolles either. Another option is that some people remove the strap from the face mesh and attach them to the bottom of the goggles frame with cable ties. All a bit Heath Robinson, but there we go. My eczema is flaring up at the minute, so I feel your pain/infernal itching!1 point -
I'd suggest one of these: Fencing Plus Ear Mask - Just BB Guns The most protection you can get without the heat. Might be worth wearing shooting glasses underneath if you're concerned about shattering BBs but I think its flexible enough that that's unlikely.1 point
-
That's an unusual issue, and tricky because anything with enough protection will build heat, and then you have sweat issues which may also cause aggravation. Usually I'd recommend delta mike, but for extra cheek and nose protection I would instead recommend this: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/nuprol-mask-6-tactical-half-face-mask By default it will come with foam in the cheek lining, but you can make a slit in the bottom and pull these inserts out as they will not contribute much other than heat This will also cover your nose, and the material in contact with your face is normal fabric rather than the metal mesh, which should stand away from your face a little For the forehead I would think about hats or helmet, there are enough options there that will work, it's just a case of keeping the heat down1 point

Been a First aider in my work for nearly 20 years now, all because a colleague had a seizure close to the end of our shift, I only had my basic TA training from over a decade previously and managed to help/avoid the situation worsening then realized there were no first aiders on our nightshift. Kinda embarassed to say I don't carry a first aid kit of any kind outside of working hours. Time I changed that...1 point -

i've played fields that have on occasion used a blank firing pistol as part of "find the macguffin" games, and in that context ie on a site that allows loud bangs, with everyone under no illusion that the game will end in a literal bang, i see no issue. however random players carrying them as a secondary? at best someone recognises it's a blank, and continues play accordingly at worst someone mistakes it for a real gun, and reacts accordingly in neither case can i see the use of a blank firing pistol in leui of an airsoft pistol has any utility to its user. as for cheating chrono? ban 'em, ban their mums, ban their hair, ban their pet chinchilla, ban their best freind's mate's plumbers aunt, ban their children and lay a curse upon their house unto the 9th generation. as for sites that have insufficient chrono/enforcement procedures? well i'd say play somewhere else but that's how i ended up leaving the sport when i ran out of sites.1 point -
1000%, they've got the time to go shopping for assorted coloured ties, but not to walk 50 yards to the chrono, definitely cheating pos & if I was a site owner I'd give them a lifetime ban, their hot guns have the potential to bring a H&S shitstorm down on the site.1 point
-
If I use it then one number priority to get it back ASAP and I don't care if anyone else moans about it. I walk into the biggest fight if I have to but I don't trust any fucker. 🤣 Way too expensive to replace it anyway. Fortunately I've got only good experiences so far but that's partly because I'm well aware some people like to collect bits from others.1 point

Lozart reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
If you go for the RIS rail version of the MP9, there's really not that much between them, except for the angled front face (and the Vorsk's slightly too look-at-me detailing with the stock, and detail on the receiver) So yeah, a forward slanting foregrip is going to make a decent difference... there's not much doubt this is the most handsome... If I'm in the market for a compact GBB SMG (and I am), then £200 for a new one has its appeal. The only warning sign is the number that have already popped up for sale in the classifieds. Is that because GBB SMGs are inherently a niche choice, or people are disappointed they can't compete with an AEG assault rifle, or because the Vorsk itself is shit? I'd like to know.1 point -
For his time and packaging materials. Its a advert and not a wildly unreasonable cost. When I sell something it is always boxed, wrapped in packing paper or bubble wrap and labeled. This along with the trip to PO and back can take upto an hour. If you don't like it don't comment and interfere with his sale.1 point
