Brand new Cyma Mp5k running over power

That would include the chap that I met at a site the other week; I tried to explain to him that using 0.28g BBs at 340fps was not acceptable but he was not having it. Watching him try to argue it with the chrono marshal and then the site owner was amusing.3 points -
Tower Airsoft & Airsoft Plantation
Cr0-Magnon and one other reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Both sites are run by the same company and are only a few hundred metres apart. Tower is a relatively small former paintball site with a church, a castle, a village and a bridge area. The safezone is excellent with proper toilets and a good food van. There is also a smaller field with two old buses. Parking is good. Gameplay is usually very good, with new ideas being tried from time to time and lots of opportunities for sneaky play. At the moment, it is probably my favourite site to play at. AP is much, much larger, with a mixture of terrain ranging from quite dense woodland to scrubland, a village, an area with a plane and structures, and the "mortar pits", which is a sort of firebase with defences, pillboxes and vehicles. Some games use the entire site; others use parts of it. The larger games can be quite challenging with lots of small unit fights going on all over the site as patrols from each side encounter each other. Parking is good but the route to the very good safe zone can be a tad muddy in bad weather. Again, the safezone has a good food van and proper toilets. I have never had a bad day there.2 points -
Welcome. I can defo recommend CQB. For me it's much faster paced and more intense which gives more immersion. I hate seeing someone in the woods who is out of range as this reminds me it's just airsoft, but in cqb generally any shot is within range which adds that realism. Also you really gotta watch your back more as it's easier to flank. Anyway along as you play your way and have fun then your doing it right.2 points

1x VFC MP9, light wear and tear from trying to get the fucking thing to work properly. 2x Mags, hardly worn at all as the fucking thing doesn't work properly and they spend most of their time venting gas. This thing is gorgeous, but useless. Stated by Negative Airsoft to be the worst pistol he's ever seen. Finally fed up of it lying around my cupboard, so its for sale if anyone is nuts enough. It fires, the mags even hold gas for around 8 shots, then shit themselves unless its 28 degrees and no wind and vent gas everywhere.....hence the knockdown price - no returns you have been warned! An elegant weapon, for a more civilised age. Couple Qs; is the dust cover the RS Magpul one? Also, did it start life as one of these? 'Cause frankly I am well jel. Man I remember 'all good retailers' getting those in back in.. early-mid 2010s? Was in the latter part of PTS having the Magpul license I think. If I were to guess, it was a potentially way of using up excess items that didn't sell as well separately. I already had/have guns that are sadly too similar for it to make sense for me to buy one, but man seeing that today was cool as hell haha, very nice. That aesthetic took off like a rocket just a couple years after I started and was the thing for a solid stretch, I've still got almost everything I purchased from that time I like it that much. Jim's quite right, both real and airsoft ACOGs (and the SUSAT) require your eye to be bloody close, I'd also lose the BUIS personally, the one on the gas block might well go rather melty on a real gun (I know, I know) and then you can get the ACOG to the place it needs to be.1 point

Good shout, infact it was me being a numpty with the chrono that was really at fault.. Single .25 went through at 313 FPS so I suppose it depends how the site deal with them as you say Cheers1 point

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the director what the criterion was that defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalized. "Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub." "Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup." "No," said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. So I played what may have been the best game mode I have ever played yesterday. The basic premise is a scientist (a marshal, Sam) that needs to be escorted across the site perpendicular to both team's spawns. He could be shot in the legs to stop him for 10 seconds, and was armed with multiple grenades. So it starts off with yellow having a slight advantage in terrain, so they managed to nab him first. But the best part of the game was Sam playing the part of the most squirrely, annoying, uncooperative scientist of all time, and it was goddamn hilarious. He managed to get away from yellow and ran back to his starting area, so our team (Blue) grabbed him. I let off some red smokes to stop them pushing us, and we still spent spent maybe 10 minutes, at some point literally, dragging him up the hill. We were basically playing a game of gun roulette as we switched out who was dragging him up the hill. At one point we got ambushed and he got away, where the yellow team grabbed him again. And again his being difficult helped us, in that he got away from the yellow, and a couple of my friends ended up lifting him up and carrying him towards the objective. It didn't stop here though, after we got him over the ridgeline he managed to take out his multi-use grenade and we spent another good 10 minutes holding his hands closed, dragging him towards the drop off point, with him occasionally dropping a grenade, killing the escorts, and being pelted in the legs to stop him getting away. All while we had to hold of the yellow team from grabbing him. I was completely out of ammo by the end. I had two pistol rounds and a grenade to help defend, getting ready to just run in with said grenade when we managed to secure the win. And it wouldn't be right to tell you all this without linking to our resident youtuber who uploaded all this action in record time! It was an absolute blast, everything airsoft should be.1 point -
Gas Pistol Advice
Rogerborg reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
To summarise the TM / Plastic / Metal thing, I'd say you can't mistake a TM for a real-steel gun when it's in your hand. But it doesn't feel cheap or flimsy either, it's solidly built. It's an airsoft gun first, a replica second. The HK45 has a great reputation for long range, I don't think you can go wrong with that. Personally I've had more of a thing for 1911's so the Hi Capa D.O.R won the day for me, but pistols are a lot about personal taste. The only other thing I'd say is that not even all TMs are created equal... the latest ones have a bigger 15mm Blow Back Unit which works better in the cold. The HK45 is one of those (as is my DOR). Something to check on if you go for something different from the TM range. (A list of the upgraded pistols was on this forum, in one of my threads even, I think)1 point -
So glad I asked for honest opinions here haha, in that case I won't rule out the TM HK45 even with the plastic slide, these are the types of things the airsoft 'influencers' conveniently leave out of their videos, learned some really useful things here so thanks everyone for your responses1 point

Good day on Saturday at Special Ops Allegedly around 60 people in the morning, I think it was a little less than that, but better fewer than too many... I took my DE and my sniper rifle, and also my old TM AK47S and my TM AUG HC for a change. I soon realised I didn't have enough sniper ammo and Carlos didn't sell any, so ditched that idea. In the morning I took the AUG out to play. With the new hop rubber it was shooting nicely on 0.25s, but it was windy day. Luckily the high-ish rate of fire can make up for a bit of wind drift The only problem I found with it was it's such good fun I was burning through the ammo too fast. I swapped over to the DE once I'd used up most of 0.25s, as I'd only got 0.32s with me and I didn't think the TM would have enough oomph to lift those. The DE as usual was great, though it was windy enough that even the 0.28s were moving around a bit A few complaints about bullet-proof players ... it seems there were a bunch of Spanish who turned up and didn't seem to understand what 'one BB' means. Maybe they were thinking about 'Juan Beeby' (baddum-tish) Oh well, I didn't have any problem with them personally, and they left at lunchtime. Carlos fed us cheeseburgers AND hot dogs for lunch. A special mention as to how appreciated the 'free' (i.e. built-in to the upfront fee) tea / coffee, lunchtime food, and unlimited bottles of water (which are out on the game area for easy access) are. Compare that to my previous trip to RIFT where all that stuff was extra. In the afternoon the AK got a run out. I've only got a couple of old TM hi caps for that, and they may be showing their age - a lot of winding to get not many pews. Maybe I'm just too used to flash mags now. The gun shot well but on a 7.4v Lipo pushing the old motor it's a little chuggy. So after a while (and once I'd exhausted the 0.25s in the two mags, and the few left over from the AUG), back to the DE. Burned through the remaining 0.28s in that, and then tried the fresh bottle of 0.32s - wow, they hit nice and hard, and fly straight 👍 The player count was much lower (I think down to 12-a-side at the end), and this led to some great opportunities to do some 'hero runs'. I ran out of battery in my DE at one point (Dan - it seems my 4 round burst fire is as draining as binary), switched to pistol-only and managed a couple of good kills with that. Great fun. Decent weather (it had rained the night before but the mud was laughably minimal compared to RIFT), good people, looking forward to the next one!1 point -
Thanks! Unfortunately I am kind of obsessive, I got a cheap Nuprol to start and immediately knew I'd be doing this going forward so figured I'd just get something decent. And I love the gear and customization aspect too so down that rabbit hole I went. Can't wait to post my custom helmet stuff around here somewhere. I am researching a shorter upper and barrel for my carbine so I can switch it out and CQB too that is definitely on the table!1 point

Everyone wants a metal pistol until they realise how shit they are in less than perfect weather. Don't discount TM just because they're plastic.1 point

It's finally ready (thanks to Negative Airsoft) - my Magpul M4 with olive drab furniture. Not based on any real world firearm, just a rifle completely done in Magpul's design language; a collection of bits and bobs I find aesthetically pleasing and to match up with the G&P Magpul receiver (manufactured back when Magpul and PTS had a partnership). Came with Magpul PTS tan furniture originally (which I might sell), but I much prefer the two toning here with olive drab over tan, as it seems a little bit more special, a bit more "military" and a bit more uncommon (to me) than tan and black. Very pleased with how it's come together (although Luke suggested that aesthetically it would be better with an EOTech). No doubt the M203 will come off after the first game. Looks cool though! And it's got a Perun, so it beeps confidently which makes me giggle every time I play with it.1 point

I might have finally gone too far... Careful VSR-X, custom brass parts made myself, Spring Custom Works SV-98 chassis and carry handle, real POSP 3-9x42, Monoloc adapter, white phosphor PVS-14. Uses custom cut 55 round VSR mags, overhops anything lighter than .46gs and can easily toss .69g BBs 120m (videos on YouTube to prove thats real range and not "airsofter range"). Monoloc and PVS-14 come off for day games obviously.1 point -

My first pistol: Thought I can’t go wrong with a TM. I’m still fairly new to airsoft so not one for tinkering/upgrading yet (only additional purchase was a couple of extra mags, I fancy a small torch for the lower rail at some point in the future). Hopefully the USP is as reliable as it needs to be! First outing will be next weekend.1 point -
