Wow, what a surprise, I wonder if I put a stronger spring in my gun after chrono this would also happen? what about using a higher pressure gas in my Gas Blowback? If people want to cheat then they can with any platform, not denying that it is theoretically slightly easier on HPA, but it is up to the site to make sure this doesn't happen. Locking regulators and random choro checks should be mandatory. if you banned HPA these people would just swap the spring in an AEG after chrono or run gas mags with black gas but only chrono on green. HPA doesn't hit any harder than any other gun at the same power level, it is people cheating with HPA that are the problem not the system its self.2 points -

Original Magnums (back when they were still branded by Hi-Tec) were great and cheap. Now they're worse than the cheap copies and more expensive than they have any right to be. I tried Lowa Zephyrs but while they're incredibly light they don't seem to be available in their wide last fitting so they were just too narrow for me. Merrell work for my feet so I have a pair of MOAB III for walking the dog and MOAB Tactical 8" for the pews. Light, Goretex lined, grippy (unless it's proper boggy). Not super cheap but certainly better than Magnums. Thing is, you can get all the opinions you like from all over but unless they fit YOU, then no boot is going to be great. Get to an outdoor shop and try some on.2 points

Get legal advice about your custody situation. Every situation is complex. She doesn't need to know you have a solicitor but the advice they can give is invaluable. I'd also start keeping a journal of all interactions, write down any specific wording or phrases used etc. Dates, times, when conversations are had etc. I'd encourage you don't post about this subject again publicly. Things can be twisted, mis understood etc. Good luck, I fear you're going to need it.2 points -

Due to a philosophical debate with my wife (which I won) I had the opportunity to sleep in the shed last night. I used the time to think about gear as it’s more important than emotional intelligence. Darn it! We nearly blended in. The US military ECWCS - Extended Cold Weather Clothing System. There is a new acronym that involves “warfighter” for the kiddies as well. The system comes in various generations, currently 1-3. There are material and component changes along the way but Gen 1 and 2 stuff is typically Woodland with Gen 3 in UCP and OCP. Wiki ECWCS page I am going to start with the most important bit, the Modular Sleep System.1 point -

I'll be honest, it was a bit of a impulse buy. I was a few beers in scrolling through my phone and saw there was 1 left in stock at fire support and pulled the trigger. What he said Changing any of the elements involved in launching a projectile can and will change the way it performs I’ll turn to paintball mode as that’s where my knowledge lies….. HPA is regulated, and therefore is ‘consistent’ if you don’t change any of the key factors. The can be cases where the first shot of a burst differs from subsequent shots - so you chronograph with multiple shots. If you fire long bursts and the inline regulator cannot refresh quickly enough then you lose operating pressure and lose energy - a ‘modern’ low pressure internally regulated paintball gun is much less effected by that then a high pressure mechanical one operating at the cylinders full regulated output If you change a spring, (or adjust it, or the internal space - as per the chrono adjustment of mechanical paintball guns then you change the power/velocity) If you change barrel then it affects the power & velocity. My X7 would be used at standard 280fps events and CQB 250fps events. I could happily just switch barrel between the usual and a 3” (of which most of it was the ‘muzzle break’ so effectively a 1” barrel) This was a very inefficient barrel as there was no space for the ball to accelerate, but would reliably drop the 30fps - I needed to go through chrono but didn’t need to adjust An excessively long barrel would also lose efficiency If you use a gas that’s affected by heat then it will cool/warm during the day and also cool/warm as you shoot which will change its performance CO2 in paintball is affected by atmospheric conditions - usually cold in the morning and velocity increases during the day. With long bursts it will also drop temperature, potentially go liquid and drop or increase velocity depending on the gun design - in extremes the barrel tip will snow Change the balls during the day and the physics down the barrel will change - to a degree paintballs distort under pressure which changes their efficiency & performance down the barrel With airsoft having plastic this isn’t the case, but different balls could bounce, float on a cushion of air or resist against the barrel under friction Bring in shaped projectiles and it’s a whole different situation. First strikes in paintball retain their velocity and energy for much further along their flight, and suddenly drop A first strike is half a paintball with a fin on the back - it hits ‘harder’ as it retains energy Add backspin and you also change the physics of flight - risking losing energy if you’re hitting a physical element, but a good backspin will aid the balls flight. A well maintained gun will be more consistent than a poorly maintained gun, and a if the owner/operator is confident in what they do then they may happily adjust to the top of the velocity / energy limit knowing that they will reliably be site legal (Unlike my X7 which received virtually no maintenance but was fully reliable) Site rules and chronograph regimes should take into account all types - and the staff should know how to enforce them There’s nothing wrong with HPA in airsoft, it should provide consistency and tagged to enforce1 point -

A decent site will ensure that the HPA inline regulators are locked down with a cable tie, and will conduct spot-checks during the course of the game day. If your site is not doing that - then find one that does. Again, I have seen real-steel sights and genuine Surefires get smashed by legit, chrono-checked 1j AEGs, so your argument about equipment doesn't hold much weight. You don't like HPA guns - we get it. But they are very much here to stay so you will have to learn to live with them if you want to continue with this hobby.1 point -

TM Hi-capa is one of the best GBBs on the market, honestly. They're super upgradeable if you want to go down that route, but it's entirely unnecessary as TM pistols perform really well out of the box, even in low temperatures. The upgradeability is just doubly useful because it means that if something does go wrong and break (my Hi-Capa is still working perfectly after years), you can easily get replacement parts.1 point

2nd post in a row with a hard-on for hating HPA players and blaming them for everything. Will your next post also blame them for world hunger? 🤣 @Skara has the right of it, it's the player, not the gun, and dickheads will be dickheads regardless what they're using. Though it is very easy to build a wankergun with HPA, not all HPA are wankerguns and not all wankerguns are HPA. I don't think I've ever had any issues with the HPA regulars at my local site, and we have some pretty dedicated HPA players. Also, not all HPA systems are spammy; my HPA m21 really, really hates it if I try to spam the trigger as firstly the mags can't keep up and will stop feeding well and becomes inconsistent, inaccurate and generally just bad if I spam. The only issue people have had with me running my HPA m21 is the classic "that's a bit close for a sniper isn't it?" because it looks like a sniper, sounds like a sniper and I'm dressed like a bush like a sniper, but it's 1.1J and I have the same issue with my m700 when I run that lower power as well. Also, again, as Skara said... Sounds like you need to find a new site1 point

Well, most of the HPA players I've come across have been no problem at all - they have enough self awareness to recognise that they will be more heavily scrutinised purely on their choice of power source for their plastic people shooter. I've probably had more problems with DSG and Super-duper Hi-speed AEG build owners over the years than HPA. As @Skara so eloquently put it - it's the player, not the gun. And I've seen very expensive gear get (surprisingly) smashed up with 1j guns (well before HPA became a 'thing') and if people don't wear full-face protection, then I don't have much sympathy for injuries that are clearly avoidable. P.S. I don't own anything HPA or remotely 'Hi-Speed'.1 point -

You can't go wrong with a TM hi capa to be honest. They're upgradeable to the extreme (will no doubt empty your wallet if you choose to go there) I run a TM D.O.R hi capa, not because of the red dot sight mount which it has, but because of the larger size blowback unit... Very useful in low temperatures - mine ran like a champ even during the winter, where my other gas pistol failed miserably Not that you _really_ need a pistol, unless you make a point of using it during games (which I do, they're great fun!)1 point -

The G&G mosfets cut off when the battery voltage drops below a certain level. That level is much closer to the full battery charge for a 9.6v than it is for an 11.1v. The experience that you had is quite common when running G&G mosfets on anything lower than an 11.1v battery. However, some G&G mosfets run fine on 9.6v, 8.4v or 7.4v; G&G sent me one when I had a conversation with them about it. The best thing you can do is replace the mosfet (not the trigger unit) with a Perun ETU++; it does not mind which voltage you use and has a number of useful features.1 point -

Did I read that you have a child with this person? My suspicion is that this is purely about exerting control and influence over you. It's taking up your time and thought etc. If there is a kid I'd advise that you don't mention it to her again, write it off, stop it from being a thing that she can manipulate you with. I suspect you'd get it back in the future once she realises it not a thing of importance (it'll get in her way, remind her of you etc)Even if you don't taking something that she can manipulate you with away from her has value. While it's not a cheap rif, you'll need to maintain as cordial relations with this person as best you can (assuming there is a kid). Is any of the above right or fair etc? Not at all, but during a messy break up, custody arguments and the associated solicitor fees you may find the price of the rif is small beer.1 point -

Tokyo Marui SAA What you'll get: A single action army, that's got pretty good dimensions and details, including the period correct Tokyo Marui Japan stamped on the right hand side. Made from the finest ancient samurai techniques its constructed almost entirely from black plastic, I guess using melted down unsold PSG1 bodies. I do strongly suggest tying a brick to it so it doesn't float away, but this won't be included due to postage costs. It's spring powered, there's almost enough force to propel a 0.12g bb 15 meters. Apparently jambwow broke his wrist with the recoil from this bad boy. Huzzah, there's a box, and instructions written entirely in Japanese. And some paper targets that should last forever as I doubt it'd make a hole. Not included is whatever they were smoking in the meeting where they decided to make this a £120 springer. On the plus side it's still better than the king arms one, but so are genital warts. What I would like: A bolt action for a project (would be used in cqb) /cheap gas Shotgun. Would put money in too if needed. Strictly collection or meet only.NO VALUE SPECIFIED
