  1. Due to a philosophical debate with my wife (which I won) I had the opportunity to sleep in the shed last night. I used the time to think about gear as it’s more important than emotional intelligence. Darn it! We nearly blended in. The US military ECWCS - Extended Cold Weather Clothing System. There is a new acronym that involves “warfighter” for the kiddies as well. The system comes in various generations, currently 1-3. There are material and component changes along the way but Gen 1 and 2 stuff is typically Woodland with Gen 3 in UCP and OCP. Wiki ECWCS page I am going to start with the most important bit, the Modular Sleep System.

    Tokyo Marui SAA

THIS ADVERT IS 'UNCOMPLETED' - THIS MEANS THE ADVERTISER HASN'T BUMPED THIS LISTING, BUT IT COULD STILL BE WORTH CONTACTING THEM.

    • For sale or swap
    • Used

Tokyo Marui SAA What you'll get: A single action army, that's got pretty good dimensions and details, including the period correct Tokyo Marui Japan stamped on the right hand side. Made from the finest ancient samurai techniques its constructed almost entirely from black plastic, I guess using melted down unsold PSG1 bodies. I do strongly suggest tying a brick to it so it doesn't float away, but this won't be included due to postage costs. It's spring powered, there's almost enough force to propel a 0.12g bb 15 meters. Apparently jambwow broke his wrist with the recoil from this bad boy. Huzzah, there's a box, and instructions written entirely in Japanese. And some paper targets that should last forever as I doubt it'd make a hole. Not included is whatever they were smoking in the meeting where they decided to make this a £120 springer. On the plus side it's still better than the king arms one, but so are genital warts. What I would like: A bolt action for a project (would be used in cqb) /cheap gas Shotgun. Would put money in too if needed. Strictly collection or meet only.

  4. There may have been a few posts before about this, but a few things have changed recently so I thought I’d have a a bit of a moan and justify it at the same time . Posting Rifles (between 2kg and 20kg) total weight Many have got away with posting Airsoft guns using a variety of services and couriers - but please be certain they have “got away” with it The only Uk mail service that will knowingly ship Airsoft guns for private customers who do not have a special terms account is the Royal Mail Group (this includes Parcel Force). As long as the package is less than 150cm long and under 20kg they will ship. Most RIFs can be shipped for under £10 (cue my first moan ….. sellers charging £15- to as much as £30 I’ve seen today) for postage for a RIF). If you don’t want to post say that in the add, it’s fine, but don’t charge £30 for postage that will cost £9. Enhanced Compensation RM groups enhanced comp does not cover Airsoft Guns, BUT it does cover accessories shipped with the RIF, If you want to cover the full cost and pay the high cost of extra insurance, you have to be a bit smart. list accessories separately and make you you keep separate valuations in the unlikely event of a parcel force loss - get retail valuation on extra mags, optics, foregrips, suppressors etc, it soon all adds up? however my experience and it is extensive over 200 RIFs now shipped - 3 damaged in transit, no losses, 1 incoming seized by Rm and destroyed, 1 sent seized and destroyed by RM. DANGEROUS GOODS RULES Pistols, GBBRS and HPA- are all potentially caught by the DG in transit rules - with RM group what you have to do is properly vent all pressure vessels (gas mags) and either remove or wedge open the release valve. The easiest way to do this is using a small tight roll of cardboard held in place one the release valve button. Never leave a mag in guns, RM claim they won’t examine a gun with a mag fitted and it is automatically destroyed. I always pack mags outside the pistol box. For ease of examination for pistol packages under 2kg you can use RM 1st class. COURIERS all couriers have different “prohibited” items lists, but all of the Uk couriers specify “firearms” in their list of prohibited items. Please don’t try and be clever with couriers and claim that an Airsoft gun is not a Firearm. The fact is it’s not a firearm under Uk law, but it is a firearm under most (if not all) courier small print definition - the6 don’t have to recognise the legal definition and some have now amended their prohibited list to actually make it clear that a firearm includes anything that looks like a firearm. KIT AND ACCESSORIES The best postage option just now for all kit and accessories is by far the RM Tracked 24/48 service. Tracked 48 is currently £2.85 booked online and that’s including £100 comp cover and free collection from home - you can’t beat that, and it’s a service that is prioritised during industrial action. Cue next moan…..people charging £5-£10 to post a £30 optic…… or a JPC because it’s bulky….lol PACKAGING when posting RIFs please beware there are minimum standards of packaging rules. If you don’t follow them, you lose your right to claim in the event of damage. Use a minimu of a stiff cardboard box, the original retail box should almost always be sufficient but take extra care when retailers use flimsy boxes. Plea to bubble wrap, vinyl foam wrap (like the stuff new tvs are in) even crushed newspaper helps. Take pictures of your packing layers - you will need them in the event of a claim. And always wrap external layer with something waterproof. Bin bags are cheap and good enough. If you ship a lot of stuff, pallet wrap Is the way forward cheap and makes external wrapping piece of cake. finally - always keep your proof of posting ! Without it you have no claim. Happy to answer any questions, there is not much I haven’t come across in terms of shipping problems, claims, losses, dangerous goods seizures. long post I know, but it’s important stuff to know - and looking at adverts clearly many have no idea (or they are at it…lol) happy new year 2023 Paul

    Radios guide

You have two choices when it comes to radios for Airsoft purposes and they each have their pros and cons. You can either use a PMR 446 or a licensed radio such as a Baofeng. PMR 446 Comes in two types, analogue which has 8 channels and digital which is 16 channel. Most people use analogue as digital is still expensive. Is unlicensed so you can just buy a radio and it will work with all other PMR 446 radios. It is limited to 0.5W. It is lower range and penetration than a licensed radio. In thick woodland expect below 100m sometimes you can shout further. In open ground in the best conditions it could go 1KM. They have a fixed antenna so you can't change it. Licensed Radio Baofeng is the make that most people buy due to the costs. The UV-5R is a cheap and decent radio with a tonne of possible accessories. The UV-82 and other radios in that series from Baofeng can do two push to talk buttons for two different frequencies which is a really awesome for radio men as they can talk on either of the frequencies they have setup. The UV-5R can tune into 2 channels at once but it can't transmit on both only one of them. The UV-5R can be used at 2 power outputs, 1W and 4W. There is also a High power model which has an additional 8W mode which isn't usable with a UK simple business license. You can do just about anything with a license and could get a personal frequency just for your group but it could cost thousands of pounds. However the easiest and cheapest thing to do is to buy a Simple UK business license (https://secure.ofcom.org.uk/busrad/). It is £75 for 5 years and takes about 2 weeks to come through, it requires little more than name + address. It will give you some FM, VHF and UHF frequencies for a total of 11 usable on a Baofeng UV-5R and you can hand out these to a group you play with or just some people on the same site for the day. Businesses all over the UK share the frequencies so you may have to move channel to avoid interfering but you have plenty of options. The license grants up to 5W of power and the Baofeng on high uses 4W. The license is for narrow band which is the same as the PMR 446 uses. These penetrate through a lot more woodland and go a lot further as they are 10x more powerful. They have a replaceable antenna so you can get a smaller one to fit your gear or a much bigger one to allow better reception and a bit more power. The Baofeng can be tuned to receive the PMR 446 frequencies. However because it is too powerful (1W) and has a removable antenna (which can change the power output) and it can use other frequencies its not legal to use it on PMR 446 frequencies. Thus if you are using a Baofeng for this purpose you are committing a crime. It is OK to listen but you can't transmit. The Baofeng radio's as far as I know all come with push to talk buttons and an ear piece in the box, the UV-5R certainly does. You can also get accessory ones from other companies like Code red headsets, Z Tactical and Baofeng themselves. The plug it uses is called a Kenwood so when looking for addons this is what you need, its widely supported. There are a vast array of options even to the point where you can get a bone conduction set for $100 or so.

  12. I work in manufacturing, not sure if Airsoft works in the same way, but if you see an offer in the supermarket it’s not them that’s doing the deal. It’s whoever makes it that’s discounting it, so it may be that the manufacturers have cut their promo support (I know we have). Low stock levels and the resulting pent up demand means that there is also no incentive to discount. Why sell it cheap when there’s a queue of buyers willing to pay full price? Especially when you are seeing costs going through the roof.

  14. In use last nights “test” was in open shed so protected from wind and rain with an air temp of 6c. Clothing issue ECWCS gen1 polypro long underwear, wool socks and watch cap. Bivi setup was basic foam isomat, the goretex cover and the patrol bag. I sleep head out to avoid condensation. But I’ve never actually had that as an issue. Even the gun is cosy. I had the mat under the bivi bag as there was some debris and the floor, I also sleep with my feet on top of my ruck. Otherwise it’s often better to have the mat inside to stop sliding off. The base of the bivi bag is pretty tough, heavier than my British Army is one as a comparison. Temp wise I was very comfortable. Bearing mind the Polarguard HV synthetic fill is 30 years old, the patrol bag is well used and has been stored compressed a lot. The goretex bivi also makes a lot of difference. If I were to use this in a more exposed place or down to 0C, I definitely would be wearing the ECWCS mid layer. Bivi and patrol bag layered up.

  15. The initial widely issued version is the woodland set. Tennier Industries was the main supplier of ECWCS kit but there are/were others. The genuine MSS sets I’ve seen are Tennier though. Labels are on the foot box. This label is from a later generation foliage patrol bag. The components are: a large compression sack, originally black and then switching to foliage etc. Later versions have a smaller sack for the patrol bag. the patrol bag, originally olive and then switching to foliage and then coyote. Quoted temp range down to below 10c, sometimes 2-10C or even 0C.* the intermediate bag was black and is now available in coyote and I think foliage. This is usually quote as down to -21c but -15c also turns up too.* * Wiki, user instructions and some military users have published different figures. The newer gen bags may be the origin of the lower figures. the waterproof “bivi” bag. Woodland camo, then UCP (well at least you’ll find your pit in the dark) and OCP. There are later improved designs like the Multi Season Sleep System (Tennier). Extra long models have been made I am not sure on dimensions but likely for those over 6’6”. Width wise the patrol bag has plenty of elbow room for me at XL waist size and 5’11”, I have another head length of inside space. Complete MSS in sack and uncompress on top of a patrol bag bivi and isomat. For scale it’s a GAU-5/A 10in barrelled SMG. Yes I am awkward.

  16. I have just checked my ICS MP5 against my TM 416 the grip angle is the same. if you want to change the shape of the grip you might want to start with a rubber grip sleeve rather than physically altering your grip as you'll have to get a whole new lower if it doesn't work out.

  22. Times are hard for everyone, including airsoft retailers; their operating costs have gone through the roof while sales have decreased, partly through unavailability of stock due to lockdowns in China and the lingering impact of logistics issues. Already tight margins have been squeezed to the point where offering discounts is not viable.

  23. 2022 was a massive transition for me in my Personal life as well as my Airsoft life, which began with a massive slimming down of the rifle collection and augmentation of the clothing... Gone are all of my Russian kit as I cannot bring myself to wear it (The Gorka 1 being the exception as can be used for other loadouts). I have travelled to France, Poland and Hungary last year to get some of this kit. (Considering I am an awkward size, it was important to do this!). I lost a lot of weight this year (16 stone 8 to just a tad under 15 stone). So I swim in much of the F2 French Kit I bought last year, so much so that I had to go back to Paris to get replacements and ended up with superior but heavier T3/T4. I still need a nice green Chest Rig/Molle Vest, Maskpol MAPA Boonie in Large and T3/4 French CCE Shirt. My favourite kit is the latest, which is the MAPA as it's such a good looking kit. But I am most proud of the Hungarian kit, considering how impossible it is to get decent condition garments in the UK especially in my size. A trip to Budapest was mandatory. This year is the year of DNC. I want to replace my existing kit with some more substantial Helikon-Tex replacements. From left to right: Pentagon Aspis Vest in Black. OPS Minimo Chest Rig in Coyote. 25. Assuming the facts we have here: You were kicked out at 2am You grabbed what you can and left the house without said MWS Are now living elsewhere You have requested that said MWS is returned or arrangements be made for its return but have been stone walled You have all proof of purchase to back you up that you have purchased the MWS solely for your use only. You state that old bill where at scene but only to prevent a BOP (Breach of Peace). I will assume you lived with said girl and had your MWS at her home address that you shared. Now im not privy as to what the living arrangements were (owned, rented, council, who was main tenant holder etc) Nor do i know how long the relationship was, what stage it was at (just dating, girlfriend, partners, fiancée etc) Nor the circumstances as to the falling out In order for your ex to steal it she will have to meet all the points to prove under S1 Theft Act 1968: Namely appropriates property Belonging to another With the intent To permanently deprive the other of it So she will have to appropriate the property, well we know it is in her possession and (assume) civil means have been attempted in recovering the property either directly or indirectly (mutual friends or other third parties) We know that you have the proof of purchase for an item that solely belongs to you, was never shared between you such as TV, washing machine, microwave as such items are often seen as part of the household. I would put an MWS in the same line as a PS5 or PC that is solely owned by one party or another. Now comes the hard part, the intent. Why does she refuse to return? What excuses has she given? Has she stated or made claims that she paid part, some, or any of it? Does she know its true value? Does she wish to gift it to somebody? Has she made attempts to dismantle or sell any part or parts of it Is she holding it to ransom for something else? The depravation part is essentially stopping you getting hold of it in its original form either not getting it back at all, breaking it, selling it etc My advice to you would be: a) stay calm and cool, keep any messages between you and her in the text world, do not resort to phone or video calls as they are harder to document b) stay civil, refrain from using any swear words in messages, as I often tell people you want to look the victim here, then act like one c) avoid making any threats, this includes direct ones and vague and open ones, believe it or not some people interpret "Watch!" as a threat to kill d) do not delete messages from you and any from hers Like i said keep yourself the victim with messages like "look, please I just want my Airsoft gun back" "ill leave it all and never message you again if you just give me my airsoft stuff back" etc If after all this she still refuses to hand back your property or attempts to sell or destroy the property or claims to have destroyed it. Then pop to you local station or fill out an online form to her local constabulary (I assume Norfolk), explain what has happened, keep it short but to the point. Explain ownership of the MWS, the value of it all and what steps you had taken to retrieve it. End of the day i know you just want your guns back, but if they ask if you want to provide an MG11 statement or assist police substantiating the allegation say "YES" otherwise it gets closed. It will be Domestic Related so you will probably have to answer a domestic questionnaire, just bare with it. GO FULL IN, otherwise you aint gonna get diddly squat.

  27. I used them a few years ago, buying a KWA Ronin TK45c when they'd just been released. From what I remember the service from Taiwan was decent (a couple of weeks) but, despite the price of the gun seeming to be a bargain, the £96 customs charge meant I could've bought from a UK seller quicker and cheaper.

    Action Camera

In theory you’ve fixed the problem with the card swap You might be able to resolve the first card by reformatting and doing some test runs with it sat at home to be sure that it will record/delete/record - or not bother if you may no longer trust that card If you’re happy with the setup now then it will do the job, but without too much expense you can get a newer camera and run multiples for extra angles and halve the risk of a failure The typical two camera setup is a barrel cam plus a head cam: the barrel cam shows what you’re shooting at, but also gets a lot of ground/sky footage and can also be quite bouncy on the end of a barrel when running etc the head cam is steadied by your brain when running, but will flick left / right as you glance all around. But it will show where you are looking except for when obstructed by gun sights, trees, walls etc (Typical head cam placement is often to one side of goggles or helmet which is clear of your gun but obstructed by half of your cover, an option is your forehead or top of a helmet but makes you easier to spot popping out of cover) Other good options for a second (or third) camera is a rear facing gun camera (then you can edit in you as the hero of footage stalking your target) or stuck to a telescopic sight (you can then play back the hits amd edit in all the glorious SFX with hitcounts and clickbait)

  31. the typical trigger pull bodge on a v2 box is to tap a hole in the gearbox casing behind the trigger and put a grub screw in. essentially lets you adjust the trigger as if it's being pre-pulled. however there are 2 downsides; -first is the safety, which you can either be patient and file down, or be impatient and remove. personally i don't see much problem given making an airsoft pew "safe" involves pulling the mag and clearing the chamber, and if you're in-game you're gonna be on fire anyway. -second is the trigger mech, the above method works really well when there's an internal mosfet or contact that means you can adjust the trigger to literal hair-width levels of pull, but with a mechanical trigger unit you're only gonna be able to go so far back before the trolley won't reset properly.

    THE TM MWS thread

Picked my first MWS up on Monday - managed to source the g&p full stock and front end from a lovely chap on here. Had an absolutely brilliant time rebuilding the front end & threw in a maple leaf 60d rubber & an omega nub for now. luckily for me I must have put everything back together okay as it still cycled, fed & shot a smidge over 1j on some freezing cold Ultrair with .28 devil blasters. id like to get a fixed carry handle upper at some point and run an a1/2 hand guard but I’m more than happy with it for now.

  34. had a morning session last sunday and noticed at chrono my 904G was down to 0.95J from a constant 1.07J in all previous games (on stock spring still) and also after about 2 years of owning my 904G I thought it's best that I actually do some maintenance on the gun. Stripped the gun down Although there was barely any grease left in the gearbox there wasn't much wear on the gears Checking the air seal, without the nozzle on it as pretty good but with the nozzle on it was actually pretty poor, nozzle has no o ring. So I've found my old specna arms cylinder head and nozzle with o-ring swapped them over and now I have a really good seal. Had to drill out the cylinder head holes by 0.5mm for it to fit on the lugs in the box. All lubed up with Waldo custom grease and reassembled. Ill be chronoing it in a few days to see what's it's shooting. But im certain it will be more due to the new nozzle sealing properly.

  35. There is a reason that gopro have such a hold on action camera market. They are good, simply put and have set the consumer standard for years. I don't use mine for airsoft but have used and abused it with flight footage, and track days where it has been crashed and taken it all.

  36. I've been through a few of the cheaper ones, from Apeman and most of the way thorugh the Amazon reccommended range. Honestly, the GoPro Hero 8 is the best camera I've bought, use and continue to sing the praise of. The picture is unparralleled. Also, I know you say 1080 is "good enough" - it's not. If you aren't 100% outdoor in the bright, if you want 1080p final footage then record in 1440p at least. It helps a lot with darker shots due to the noise/filling the cameras do. I told myself for a long time the cheaper camera was "just as good" then there was a noticable image quality difference in my output files.

  39. Final update. The gun now has a Franken-Torque motor with approximately 28TPA - using a SHS High Speed neo magnet can, with a G&G Combat Machine 18k Armature, end bell and pinion. It was absolutely superb all day today playing semi-only at UCAP Valiant. It shot accurately (still running the stock hop rubber), consistently, with an excellent trigger response and it never skipped a beat. Power consumption (and heat) was massively reduced compared to the stock motor and it was pretty efficient on batteries - 2x 1300Mah 3S LiPos were used - I changed midway through the day as a precautionary measure. It's genuinely my favorite gun at the moment - the bigger EVE-9 is definitely on my to-buy list now.
