This has just come into my guardianship (best mate has just upped sticks and fucked off to Australia so I'm "looking after it" for him).

  4. Thanks to an imminent inheritance I will be able to pay off my mortgage early. Obviously I've made all the right noises about investing the now disposable income wisely but we all know I'll be going through my wants list and ticking them off one by one. Will power is overrated.

  5. LOL, it's more than that, the 10 year old inside me (shut your filthy mouths😜) will probably say "but I really really neeeed it"

  6. Ducati have used Bosch components since the 1980s at least. It was the looms and enclosures that were dodgy. Modern QC is much improved though. I plan to take my 25+ year Italian steed into town tomorrow despite the forecast rain anyhow. To get slightly back on topic... I used to export Italian made cast metal goods. There are a fair few sweatshops in Italy I know. Traditional heavy industries are quality, but textiles and electronics are a little different. Hope that the Evolution rifs reach CYMA quality levels.

  10. £150 new now, so you're swapping 3 mags for a warranty. Mind you, given the number of pre-abused "new" gnus that PatrolBase apparently send out, maybe that isn't a crazy trade.

    Willpower, am I weak ?

Most certainly not! In fact I think you're probably in good company 😂 As @Rogerborg said to me on this very forum "Life's to short to regret the purchases you didn't make", so as long as you're not secretly re-mortgaging the house to fund your kit purchasing habit then who are we to judge. We've all got stuff we've bought and don't use much 'cos we like it/want it.

  19. In that case the answer to your original question is yes You will still be under 18 so cannot qualify for UKARA and cannot purchase Your parents can, and as a gift is permitted to give it to you (and scrub my university comments, didn’t read ‘college’ properly

  20. This is more than fair enough, and I am well aware of the issues that spring from it. Thank you for the poignant comments. As to badges, well I'd use an old reg that doesn't exist ( Cornwall rifles) anymore, or just not wear a badge. This would be for specific games or if a number of us were all at same site. It did sure feel great to be stomping through a site with a team in similar/unit kit. It was a larpsoft event, so on the Sunday morning when 4 (older) lads in full late 80's 2para kit with appropriate weaponry Inc support gunner, there were looks from PMC thinking they were going to get a harder day. My brother did order the wrong green beret...it was mentioned a number of times and he did look very sheepish for it... Anyway. @Tackle Hope you are having a better day, yesterday sounded like a rough one.

  21. If this is your 18th birthday (I assume from 2/3 years + college) then you might find that a local site will give you your a membership (i.e. UKARA) number as soon as you hit 18. In fact, there's no particular reason why you can't be a member before then, it's just that 18 is the minimum age to buy any imitation, realistic or otherwise.

  26. Nailed this in the end. for anyone that lands in the same situation or is interested lol it all panned out like this: - found the nozzle was making contact with the upper and lower surfaces of the hop. - checked the cylinder, piston and al related compression components all ok 🤔 - found that when the upper receiver was attached the connection was stiff - then found the pin just above the trigger hadn’t been replaced by the original tech allowing the tv to tilt so slightly. - replaced pin and normality resumed 😁 IMG_4838.MOV IMG_4837.MOV

  29. An update for anyone that cares. I feel like 18 rps is normal out of a CYMA 106 platinum upgraded on 7.4v. Made a deans converter for fancy 11.1v RC plane battery and tested it again. Pretty sure up to a point, current plays a bigger role in rate of fire than voltage. Now, my chrono might be bugged (hope not its brand new), but I was getting around 52 rps 😬 The fewest amount of bbs I could shoot in full auto on one tap was 5! This was with an Overlander batteries 3 cell, 11.1v, 1350mAh, 95C burst - 50C constant battery. So can deliver 128 amps or around 1.4KW on burst. Built the 106 into a PCC with a longer barrel and softer spring and its now shooting at 22rps at 315 fps on a 7.4v. Was at 335fps with everything stock. Just for fun I tried it again with the RC battery in the PCC setup and I saw 64rps! So the AEG is fine and anyone who wants a BB hose should get some fancy batteries!

  30. ahh, burst fire, that does make a difference. more rof will help with snappy response, and times were it was the main way to do it, but nowadays with the electronical sorcery that is precocking mosfets and brushless motors you can get that snappy responsive trigger without needing to go full brrt with all the issues therein.

  31. If I remember rightly the sector gear is short-stroked from the factory, something to keep in mind

  32. 25RPS is ample, anything more is a just a BB hose for those who are trying to make up for lack of skill.

  33. Am i the only one that can hear that poor piston screaming for mercy? You could also just find a better quality target that doesnt need that much dakka to persuade them to take a walk in the direction of their respawn

  34. Seems about right on a 7.4v, mine was just over 25rps out the box with an 11.1v. However I have thrown in a warhead brushless to mine now and it is up to about 40rps now. If you are looking for rate of fire then there is no replacement for running it on 11.1v, if you are running 7.4v then you are leaving performance on the table and have to accept it as a sacrifice for potentially less maintenance further down the road.

  35. I've had one, it was 25RPS with an 11.1V out the box. Just bear in mind the retailer may not honour a warranty if you've been using a 11.1V.

  40. Very similar photos from entirely different games, kit is identical if memory serves correctly outside of the RMR moving slightly (it’s now completely gone, we’ll call that a failed experiment). Since adding the Trex arms dump pouch to my belt (have not been a fan of previous belt mounted options, but the addition of the thigh strap has been a big win) the TED on the plate carrier has fallen out of favour. Likely be swapping that back over the trusty mini dangler for the next few games having been getting a lot of mileage out of the one on my chest rig every time I use it. Also the first time I’ve worn a UBACS in about 8 years for no other reason than I’ve been too self conscious, suffice to say they’re very good at what they’re supposed to be good at.
