😋 I would whole-heartedly defend the wearing of lower face masks tbh. One sniper shot to a tooth or the gum tells you it's eminently sensible. (I was lucky, I didn't lose the tooth)

Sure, it's all down to the people who show up on the day (and whether the wrong 'uns get dealt with). However, Phoenix is the first site that I've seen that has its own website but doesn't appear to have one single word to say about rules or conduct. As a new player there, how would you know how the game is meant to be played, or what to expect? Maybe from watching YouTube videos, urgh. The only thing they list is maximum fps / energy for guns (nothing about MED or rate of fire), and uniquely, they allow auto AEG right up to 1.3J chronoed on a 0.2g BB. Either they don't know, or don't care, that anything shooting heavier BBs is likely to Joule creep above that legal limit, making it (legally speaking) not an airsoft gun, but a Section 5 firearm. I'm not saying auto at 1.35J is going to instantly start murderkilling folk or blowing through eyepro, just that it gives the impression of a site that's a bit... special.

Noone is 'belittling' you for wearing lower face, you're just being called out for being a fake tough guy. You're acting like KMs victims are just being little bitches, and saying you'd like a more dangerous version of airsoft, yet you don't even play the version we already have to it's max. This is why people are liking the post, because it rings true. There is literally no need for lower face in airsoft at current power levels, this sport IS safe, if everyone follows the rules, which KM doesn't, hence people disliking him. To recap, the point I'm making is you don't get to call other people safety nazis and pussies when you won't take to the field without a mesh training bra on your face.

Yeah I was at the game as well, the base commander supposedly threw the book at landmark or whatever they are called that do the leasing of MOD sites. People were specifically told that video etc was prohibited, as usual the band of social media whores like mattthemusketeer completely ignored that then the ban hammer by the MOD came down pretty swiftly (wasn't just the video that bought that on as the sight should never have been let out but the videos didn't help matters) I was having a mindless scroll last night and noticed two videos come up as sponsored, was intrigued out of sheer boredom what the spunktrumpet is up to currently and to no surprise first video was at Phoenix where he decided that its a "headshot only game" cue taking numerous shots at people who he had full view of (or so the perspective shows) and takes multiple head shots as per his own twisted "mission" for the game. Second one irked me the most as it involved someone who clearly English isn't their first language, doesn't take much listening to assess that ol'donkey punch is making the most of this for his video (regardless of the guy implying he will be taking licking cumstain to court) - the comments on the video are absolutely shocking, numerous people ripping the shit out of the poor guy which in my opinion boils down to downright racism in some instances. While I don't mind the fact that various platforms show Airsoft in a good light and bring new and interesting people to the hobby, this type of shit just makes me want to play less than I already do. Yes you can argue you'll find arseholes in every sport but as a community we should be doing more to shut this sort of shit down.

  7. Eh. Everyone loves a bit of drama. We've had this discussion a few times and know that it ends nowhere, so we're finding fun in other ways. There's no real griefing involved: note that @Tommikka and I respectfully disagree on the firearm-and/or-RIF issue. If I really wanted to be rude, I'd ask how much of your career was spent in Traffic, or Professional Standards. But rest assured that I'd never sink that low.

Yeah, to be clear, my opinion is if Kicking Mustang is doing any of the stuff he's being accused of, he's a complete c*nt and needs to be banned everywhere. We're supposed to do this stuff to have fun, not to get hurt by some twat who think he's above the rules.

  9. Fully agree, nothing against anyone who wants to wear any protective gear they like, but you don't get to wear it then act like you're a hard man 😅 I'd have said nothing about it if he hadn't been acting like what KM does is fine and people are too soft.

I'd never criticise anyone for taking safety seriously, to be fair even if it means you don't turn up on Monday morning for your "respectable" job with your chops covered in red marks & welts, then it's done its job. But changing fps limits for more "hardcore" games is ridiculous, it's hard enough to enforce what we've got so giving players carte blanche to increase fps could get out of hand. Anyway, whys it even being discussed, to do so would break the laws of the land, so it's obviously never gonna be an option, shit like this only gets more draconian, not relaxed ffs.

Quick on for everyone chrono'd mine today and it was shooting at 390-380 for the first 5-10 shots of the mag then levelling out at around 365-355 for the rest of the mag, that was on standard green gas. Did a little testing and manage to get it down to averaging 340-330 FPS by screwing in a small screw on the back of the flute valve then filing it down a bit to space it forward. One think though is you only need to space it forward by about .2mm-.3mm for the drop in FPS which is why I had to file the screw head down.

That's certainly possible. However, if it turns out to be as accurate as Mustard's marksmanship, how persuasive is it likely to be? Fresh opinions and challenging the status quo are fine and healthy: that's the basis for all improvements. Of course, as Mustard demonstrates, it can also result in becoming righter and righter in fewer and fewer places.

Where is all the talk of headshots coming from? Headshots are fine in airsoft and noone has a problem with it. Being a douche nozzle and shooting people in the face when you could shoot the chest annoys people, but that is far and away the most minor thing that KM does which is douchery. Literally noone has said they have a problem being shot in the head if that's all they're presenting. Are you under the impression people can't scroll up and see what you wrote? Because you very definitely did suggest a new type of airsoft with different limits etc. You are entitled to your opinion mate, and everyone else is entitled to theirs, notice how all the experienced airsofters disagree with you? A smart person would consider why.

Yep, opinions are like arse holes, we've all got one, but for many here, they're opinions are based on years of real world airsoft experience, not what they've seen on YouTube etc. Personally I think the fps limits are fine, cheaters are gonna cheat, unless you take them off their feet, hardly feasible lol

Appreciate you're stepping away from the thread but just to cherry pick this suggestion: I hear what you suggesting but... 1) I don't think the player-base, nor the availability of site (and game days) is big enough to support fracturing it to that extent... 2) Where all the guns are obeying UK site limits the number of actual injuries seem to be pretty low. In my (limited) experience I've seen a couple of drops of blood from shots hitting bony bits of the face, and of course hits in the mouth... but otherwise I wouldn't see any need to make a 'I can take the pain' game, because about the only thing that could involve is removing the MED rules (and snipers are supposed to be all about the 80m+ kills, aren't they? They shouldn't be worried unduly by minimum 30m rule - it's a good excuse to buy an MP5k or a P90 ;)) Even the little kids running around with their parents at my site seem ok with yelling "ow" when they get hit, but they get on with it. So as long as the gun isn't *illegally* powerful, it should be fine.

For some reason one of his videos labelled ‘most terrifying airsoft injury’ popped up on my fb feed once. had to have a watch. he basically puts his foot down a hole and rips his trousers 🤣 I guess I was hoping for open compound fractures or bunji pit impalement. I played a legion event of all things at lydd training area back in 2017. only went because of the site, Somehow the mod cocked up and didn’t realise legion were a commercial airsoft co or something so it was subsequently closed to airsofters immediately after the event 🤣 I remember seeing half of THG there wandering around like a lost sheep. was a great area. Always nice to play new sites you’re not familiar with!

May as well have been a bolt action because you couldn’t quickly follow up with a second shot 🤣 Running it on a 11.1v You could literally the poor motor/internals trying to pull the spring back like it was loading a trebuchet. couldn’t get it out fast enough after the event 😂

A couple of their marshalls are spot on, a couple are utterly useless at dealing with fuckery. There is a decent amount of dickheads who refuse to call hits. I've been a few times and if you get the good marshalls, it can be a good day out.

@BigBell1987 welcome mate, but NO NO NO, no offence but it seem like every noob seems to want to reinvent the wheel (or circumnavigate the law), on paper Airsoft is almost perfect, almost, the issues/changes that need fixing are cheating in its various forms, & sites with shit staff that can't organise a piss up in a brewery, & ideally understand the physics HPA etc. It's not a lot to ask really, I've always said that organisers could make their own lives easier & their sites more successful if they copied the best aspects of what are considered the best sites, literally what works best. Everyone's a winner surely🤔

You see him adding hit markers. Much of the time, you can see his BBs curving off into the distance as he snarls and swears about cheaters. This is one of the reasons why so many sites have banned him: he deliberately gives a false impression about the amount of cheating that goes on. There are, since every site has different attitudes to marshalling, chronoing[*], head shots, power-play, overkill and such. It's only an issue if sites aren't honest about what to expect, or when Phoenix attitudes are taken to other sites. [*] Ouch, Phoenix allow auto fire at 1.3J, tested on 0.2g. I guess their insurers don't know about Joule creep.

That's the thing though, they were probably weird conspiracy theorist nutjobs WITHOUT the weed. It doesn't magically make you into one, the same way that coke doesn't automatically make you Tony Montana. Equally alcohol doesn't make you a violent knuckle dragger, but it does lower the inhibitions of the average knuckle dragger to the point that they are happy to get violent. Of course, booze is socially acceptable but recreational pharmaceuticals aren't so we have to demonise them and the ones that partake. Personally, I'd far rather be camped next to a bunch of stoners than a group of piss heads.

    Bloc Eyepro

Think bloc are quite new to the tactical eye wear world, hence the discount prices (could be wrong). Their sunglasses are a good, affordable option and give a great cost/benefit ratio. Ultimately any "anti fog" that the glasses have will be a layer over the lens itself, when that wears off they'll be just like any other pair. Guess the real question is how long does that layer last? As they're new I doubt anyone knows yet. They seem expensive to me for a non premium brand tactical eye pro option (Vs say Oakley, ess, wiley, revision) with no proven pedigree behind them. Also I find with glasses that the fit of them to your face is super important, having a small gap (small, not too big) in places is needed for airflow which reduces fogging. Buying online doesn't give you the chance to try before you buy and I bet finding bloc tactical locally won't be easy. If you sweat loads, other options are goggles with fans in them (generally home made) or mesh (check out heroshark). People get worried about mesh with the risk of shards of smashed bbs coming through, though I can't recall any cases in 10 years of being on various Airsoft forums and Facebook where the person's eye was actually damaged from shards through mesh, irritated, yes, but not blinded etc.

No noob photos of me as i started in 2004 when camera phones were shit and social media didn't exist. The earliest picture i can find of me is this from 2011 Standard issue (at the time) British assault boots, C95 DPM trousers, Viper kneepads, ACM plate carrier, Black UBACS (don't remember the make but it wasn't a Chinese knock off) Maruzen NBB P99, KSC (I think) Glock 18 in a mag pouch, ACM gloves, ESS V12 goggles The latest pic i can find is this, taken last January. After going through several different camo patterns I've found myself almost back where I started German para boots, The same pair of trousers as the earlier picture, Same plate carrier (swapped out for a SADF M83 chest rig in summer) All Terrain Tigerstripe combat shirt, Eye protection liberated from work. Earliest pic I have. I think this is a few years in, 2 or 3 I think, being sneaky sniper at a weekend event in Spain in 2008 before Spain even had sites; used to just be a bunch of guys turning up at an abandoned urbanisation to play airsoft. This was probably one of the first ever weekend airsoft events on the Costa Del Sol! As "the Brit" I had to be rocking the DPM to represent . Loadout overall was: Warrior L96, totally unupgraded and flinging .25 heavyweight BBs! (pretty sure they became Well, and .25s really were heavyweight back then!) Bell 1911 (it's a lovely pistol and I still have it. Doesn't shoot well, but looks and feels amazing!) DIY safety glasses worn over my prescription glasses (I have no idea if they were rated high enough, but I still have two eyes!) Warrior Assault Systems chest rig. Much older model that isn't made any more, but spoiler alert: it still works great and I still use it! Dingo drop leg holster in OD Blackhawk knee pads Army surplus boots Bunch of scrim net around the rifle And most up to date photo I really have that shows my loadout is from AI500 last year (the one where we got hit by a storm and they had to call it early on the Saturday!). Loadout here (with disposable income!) is: TM m21 SWS HPA setup (Wolverine Hydra Gen2) with all the upgrades TM mk23 upgraded with all the upgrades Heroshark mesh goggles with prescription inserts Stich Profi "Chimera" hood Sprinter Custom Ghillie multi-season haloscreen rifle wrap Bulle(?) MARPAT shirt and trousers Not sure on the brand of boots Warrior Assault Systems pathfinder chest rig and gunfighter belt kit Honestly, not much has changed in terms of how I play outside of me just being a lot better at it now. I still play sneaky sniper, though with a disposable income I've been able to get myself far better gear. Main difference is that I'm nowhere near as fit as I was back then and at the moment I'm carrying too many extra pounds. Gym, couch to 5k, cycling instead of getting the bus around town and BJJ and MMA classes are all helping me get back to the level of fitness I had in picture #1 when I was in multiple sports teams at school (rugby and swimming up until I moved to Spain, then just swimming in Spain) rather than me being a fatass in pic #2

  48. You are correct, I'll relocate it to the EU section. Of the Asian retailers do you mean? I use quite a few of them, I think the only ones I have never ordered from are airsoft-asia, Tactifans, ebair, Taiwan gun, jkarmy and uncompany. Honestly I probably order 70-80% of accessories and parts from Asian shops if i'm not in a hurry. Recommended list... ehobby - were the largest airsoft eBay shop in the mid 2000s, until they went over completely to their own site - excellent service, though their item range is not what it used to be. WGC - pretty good, often have little bits that no one else seems to have. Good for body kits.. that type of thing. Airsoft Global - bought my first proper AEG from these guys in 2005, I remember them being pretty helpful with the customs paperwork and advice. Khmountain - very good, also have an eBay shop, often purchase gearbox components from them. gunnerairsoft - not used them in many years but they were one of the OG ACM AEG sellers... it was them and rsov back in the day, they're still around... rsov aint! Tiger111... so these guys have a massive range, their comms and staff are helpful (ask for Konvict) - however.... their stock keeping is the worst i have ever seen. I have on no less than 5 orders been told that something they clearly list as in stock is actually not - they'll give you options including partial refund but its just so annoying!!! But their prices seem a shade better than some of their competitors.. bit of a toss up.
