    I haven't noticed that airsoft stuff has disappeared, but it does seem that anything 'real steel' spec is now unavailable to the UK. I used to buy handguards and gas blocks to fit WE GBBRs from there but there's nothing there anymore.

    Might be worth keeping the M120 and short stroking the gears, will bring the power back down and reduce cycle time a bit. Your issue could be battery related too if they've sat around for a long time. I've been eyeing up Tower Airsoft too, it's quite local to me. If you want another old man to shuffle about with let me know, but you'll have to take it easy, I'm 32.

    I'll put in a vote for a JG G36, even though you didn't shortlist it. My mates one ran for far far longer and far far better than it had any right to considering the total lack of maintenance he provided. To the tune of 5+ years he only ever cleaned the barrel and it just kept on trucking. Have you considered pouches yet? I know G36 mags can be bulky, and they have the locking lugs sticking out of the side. Most people seem to use single pouches from what I've seen, pouches designed to have two M4 type magazines together often won't fit two G36 mags. Just something to bear in mind when choosing kit.     I think cheating might be a strong word for it, although it does seem borderline. I would definitely class any attempt to make your armband less visible as unsporting to say the least, to your own team and the opposition. Nobody wants to be that guy who lights up the friendly sniper who snuck into such a good position he's intermingled with the opposition, and that hesitation after spotting them can easily see you out of the game instead. Which to me feels unfair, if we came across a non-ghillie player wearing the band under their kit, we would call that out immediately, but for some reason some ghillie guys seem to think they're above the rules, everyone else, and fair play. SOME ghillie guys, but that mentality, almost like they're the protagonist, and everyone else are NPCs whos experience is irrelevant, does seem to be more prevalent among our scrim wearing brethren.

    This RIF is a bit of a mystery, from what I can tell it started out as an MC51, and was then fitted with an SG1 stock, and a rifle length barrel extension after the handguard. The most interesting part is the receiver, Tokyo Maruis are plastic as standard, this is a metal one, brand unknown, very nice fit and very sturdy. Original TM gearbox was cracked at the front, replaced with an aftermarket shell with larger bushes. Radiused to prevent future cracking. 16:1 gears. High torque motor. Original TM hop unit, with Modify? rubber. Shoots very well, nice and snappy on a 7.4v, video available on request. Includes 9 total 70rnd midcap magazines. Two small issues, very slight wobble from handguard, and grip baseplate screws replaced with incorrect type at some point, still secure. Postage £15 with payment by PayPal or cash on collection.
