  1. Man walking down the street sees another man walking towards him with a ladder under his arm . he stops the man and says “excuse me is that your own long ladder ?” And the 2nd man says “yes it’s my long ladder , why do you ask ?” and the 1st man replies with a sad look on his face “when I was a child I didn’t have a long ladder of my own , I only had a step-ladder”

  2. Spare upper for the NGRS arrived today. Purely an aesthetic change for running an LPVO (awaiting arrival of) as they historically look a bit wank an a shorter RIF in my opinion. Wouldn’t be shocked if this upper eventually ends up getting a carry handle grafted onto it 🤷🏻‍♂️. And a big ol’ patch for the back of the PC

  3. First AEG in a lonnggggg time … like ages and this could be the gateway drug that I really don’t need in my life Specna Arms Edge 2.0 , this was a basic Rock River Arms M4A1 (plastic foregrip / carry handle ) , wanted to keep it clean and not overtly MIL like a lot of my GBBR builds . Externally added a HAO 13.5 MK16 rail & KAC style flip ups , VLTOR style gas block & gas tube .AG Surefire FH , Magpul CTR stock ,Bushnell AR.223 1-4 scope & Aero precision mount. inside a Prometheus tightbore & purple rubber / bucking combo . Using the stock hop unit and it seems to be flinging .28’s quite well.

  4. Same but different I guess. I'm a 'player' ahead of anything else in the hobby, a fairly active/aggressive (i.e. like being in the mix, not that I'm wandering around jonesing for a scrap) one at that, and tend to head out at least twice a month and often more than that. I enjoy the gear side of things more than RIFs, so always keep the RIFs I have on deck to a minimum. It's been an NGRS plus one other 'primary' and the trusty TM Glock for a while and that's about as deep of the 'collection' ever goes, I just keep what I actually use. The MWS ended up getting used more because I felt I needed to justify keeping it than it was that I actively wanted to. I do always like to have a back up should whatever I want to use die on the day, and streamlining batteries and mags across the board feels like even more convenience on top of the NGRS just being the best all round option for what I'm looking for in a RIF that sees regular use. And none of that is to downplay how good the MWS is, purely my personal preferences and experiences from juggling the two different RIFs over the last 2 years or so.

  5. Ta very much, I was expecting it to be decent but very impressed with the quality (the blue leather used is much thicker than I'd expected). It is indeed, truthfully it came with the upper and I was expecting to replace it. But it seems solid so it'll probably stay. Only real negative is that there are only 2 mlok slots on the top diagonal sections (i guess they'd be the 1:30 and 10:30 positions on a clock 🤷‍♂️). Not really an issue as I've just used a ranger band, but that did mean I couldn't use the thing I'd usually slap on to keep my tape switch in check (Magpul tape switch cover thing) because there weren't enough mlok sections where I like to run my switches. The NGRS has been my 'daily driver' for as long as I can remember, I'd hoped to move over to the MWS filling that role like all the other cool folks... but GBBRs just aren't for me. I'm not too proud to admit I just like having (read as, have come to rely on) more mag capacity and just generally find the NGRS more convenient for how I play. So yeah, have sold up on MWS bits and have a second NGRS on the way (L119A1 flavour, very jazzy) so I'll have the short boi, long boi and old boi. Probably the most content I've been with my RIF line up since starting the hobby 15 or so years ago which is a nice spot to be in.

  6. The gun has now been fully re-wired with Alphawire and a Mosfet added - found a simple (but slightly chunky) Acetech AceMOS plus unit lurking in my electronics box that I forgot I bought 3-4 years ago. Shimming has been tweaked on the Sector and Spur gear, and sounds a bit better than before. Left the bevel as-is. The stock motor is shit - hands down the weakest link on the gun. I am able to lock the gun up on an 11.1v and it gets really frikkin hot after a few seconds of firing. So it's got speed, but not decent torque and definitely no efficiency. Put an SHS 16TPA Hi-torque motor in - major over-spin/double shooting on an 11.1v. Switched to a 7.4v LiPo and it seems happy enough - trigger response roughly equal to the stock motor but without any lockups, around 16-17 RPS full auto and running pretty cool temperature-wise. So now it's very usable as-is, but I want an even snappier trigger response, so the next step is a 22TPA motor on an 11.1v. Hoping to keep it around 17-18 RPS, but with the extra torque for semi-auto.

~3 months, £56 customs fee & a few Parcelforce complications later... Volante 6061 T6 aluminium slide, barrel and RMR housing for TM FNX! Will post pics once fitted. Could have bought 2 brand new TM FNXs with how much that ended up costing 🤕

  9. Great day at Combat Airsoft near Thetford today. No issues with hit-taking and some really good enthusiastic players on both sides encouraging and helping the rentals. And to make it even better the sun came out and we won!

  10. Aliexpress FleaOTech 3x magnifier. Very definitive click when flipped to the side, perfectly clear to look down. EOTech logo is a bit bigger than my Holy Warrior XPS & has a slightly shinier finish overall, but great otherwise. My stock is slightly shorter than a buffer tube, so don't need to have it as far back.

  11. Can appreciate that, I’m currently in the process of downsizing, playing less etc and need “one rifle to rule them all”. The MWS is staying for now but an NGRS is ticking some major boxes. Both your uppers look very nice!

  13. Sounds like they’ve tried to replicate the forward cocking action of the RS but have a standard rearward cocking spring mechanism . price was to be expected , im out .

  14. Sadly you may be right... That bolt pull also looks very odd ... It shouldn't be stuff both ways unless they've done something very strange 🤔

  15. So I've finally fixed all my issues I short stroked by one tooth which to be fair I needed as I was over for my cqb sight and use the custom tappet plate and spring I now get perfect 294 to 297 on semi and 290 to 295 on full auto which is close enough I use 3 round burst anyway and that stays at around the semi fps level. Who would have thought a simple motor upgrade would be this much stress especially as its pretty much the same rpm as my stock ifrit motor

    hop questions

BZ Tactical have them in stock https://www.bztactical.co.uk/airtech-advanced-hop-up-chamber-inner-barrel-locking-ring-universal Worth a try but be aware that it may need some "fitting". I needed a bit of kinetic engineering on mine!

You don't have to be mad to be here but it helps🤪 I would say that once you tell your buddies about it they may well change their minds.🤞 As has been mentioned above do some reading up on site rules and general game play so that you are not unprepared. Again as has been mentioned,it's a shared interest and you will find people happy to help and guide you so don't be worried about asking questions(just not from me you annoying noob!)😉 Find a site and just pop along and get stuck in. You will love it 🙂 Check out @GAMBLEon here and the tube for some good tips and insight it will help. enjoy, listen and call ya hits!!👍 regards

    The VCRA is a joke

I can see why they'd think that, given that there's clearly no interest from the State in clamping down on the rogues. The problem with that is that eventually some muckraker with an audience will do a "think of the children!" hit piece on our assault-toys.

  23. Hey, I ended up using a DCI guns thread protector over the place holder in the pictures above. I will pop some pics below but you may be able to tell it looks a little more suitable (chunkier). I think that you will find the answers to your other questions in my post above with the pics. However, to summarise; no filing necessary, kick felt stronger once the slide was fitted with no problem emptying a magazine when rapid fired. If you need to anything more specific just say 🙂

  24. A quick look at the internals... Well..... the switch isn't going to last long on 11.1v - there is clear indicators of burning/arching/pitting on the trigger shuttle already after ~30mins of use. Problem is - the switch is proprietary. It'll probably be easier to source a Gate Titan than try to find a replacement KWA switch here in blighty. Great. The switch is not a complete write-off yet,so I'm going to try clean it up and fit a simple Mosfet for now. KWA should of shipped the gun with one fitted - they are not exactly expensive these days. The rest of the gearbox is fine. Gears seem tough, the shimming is a touch tight, but with the shell being so thick and less openings in it to test each gear individually, it'll be tricky to re-shim so I'll leave it as-is for now. The shell really is a chunky beast. I have no concerns about it's long term durability. There is a proprietary tappet and nozzle which is a characteristic of all KWA 2.5 guns. The Piston and Piston head are best described as mediocre so I've ordered replacements from @ak2m4 . There is so much potential for this gun - it is a few component choices short of truly excellent but ultimately penny-pinching by the manufacturer has let it down. As-is, would I recommend it? Well, if you are confident at teching your own guns, then yes, I think I do. But for a beginner player? - Good god no. And that's a real shame.

  25. Lol, I remember the first time I saw a serpa drop leg, safe zone at Ft Amherst, thought "WOW, that's a good way to carry your pistol, such a quick draw" 😳 A month later I had one, 5 minutes in to the game I thought "ffs, every time I run its like I've got a small child hanging on my leg & trying to pull me the other way" lol💩

    THE TM MWS thread

To be honest I've been playing 15 years and other than a high ROF jg G3sas in about 2012, I've never internally upgraded any of my RIF's. I have a spare Marui bolt carrier... I'll look out for a Prometheus 6.03.

  27. 25 years ago I had a front tooth shattered, since then I've been through implants, serial infections causing incredible pain, two sets of dentures and probably thousands of pounds worth of dental work. It's something I'm conscious of nearly every day. I don't want it to be my BB that puts someone else through that, any more than I want one of my BBs popping someone's eyeball. My lower face pro is probably the most comfortable part of my rig and if anyone is on the fence about face pro or thinks it's unnecessary, I'd urge you to reconsider. There's nothing at all macho or manly about not being able to chew food properly for the rest of your life.

  28. Not a fan of making things compulsory myself, but... It can spoil the atmosphere when an adult player looses a tooth and gets pissy about it. There are enough options out there for decent facepro tbh; and moaning about the results of one's own decisions is a bit un-manly IMHO.

  29. Got to be honest I don't get not wearing full face, to me it's as nuts as not wearing eye pro. Had enough dental pain and cost in my life that I just don't understand why you would put yourself in a position where you could get your teeth shot out. Probably an unpopular opinion but I think full face should be compulsory.

  30. Positive from a negative, from the point of view of a person who has to fix said boo boo I’d much rather work on a baldy barstuard that someone with flowing locks . Always get a better result on the open tundra than you do in the jungle , if ya catch ma drift ? 😉
