New Idea Wanting to See If Anyone Was Intrested.
3AJ12 and one other reacted to Elliot_Blaize for a topic
Hi, everyone thanks for checking this post out. I have come up with an idea that I think may intrest some people who like building hi-capas. The basic idea is that you send me an email or tell me what kind of serations, engravings, colour and cut outs you want on a hi-capa slide and i make it with aluminium (what 90% of slides are made of). The price will be about £600-800 depending on the complexity. I can provide some examples of what i've already done. If there is enough intrest i'll put up a site where you can lsee what can be done and how to contact me. The image below is a example of what i can do. Posting this on general because didn't really know where to put this.2 points -

Tokyo Marui Akm GBBR Release Imminent
Impulse reacted to Crazy_Crystal for a topic
So surprisingly I haven't seen much chatter about this, but finally the AKM is up on their website which hopefully means a batch will arrive in the uk fairly soon... I'll be interested to see how it compares to the other GBB AK's on the market. (I must admit that I am not particularly a Kalashnikov aficionado but this is very tempting.) If it performs half as well as their MWS System it should be very skirmishable. https://www.tokyo-marui.co.jp/products/gas/machinegun/4861 point -

None available yet. I suspect that as soon as the Battlecats actually drop, it’ll be one of the next things from AM. I’m exactly the same vein, I got worked up about having a .45 barrel with my Speedcat (0.40) and lo and behold, a few weeks later, they dropped threaded and non threaded 0.40S&W outer barrels1 point -

it's an interesting idea, if you've got the kit to do it to a decent standard (read: it'll fit and work) then i can see a lot of merit in this at that kind of price. of course wether or not the economics work out to allow you to do this for that kind of money is a different story, you've either got a lot of expensive machines sitting around or are going to be putting a lot of man-hours in. that said, if you've got the kit lying around, custom machined parts at reasonable prices would be a godsend for certain folks of the serial tinkering persuasion.1 point -

Beware If Buying From Novritch Now If You Live in UK
Cr0-Magnon reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Until it's in my hands, it's the seller's goods, and their problem, not mine. I have no interest in how the seller sent it or what's happened to their item. I certainly have no control over whether they put a UKARA number on it, or declared it honestly, which Border Farce seem to be picking up on now. That said, I've been lucky up to now, and the one hiccup I've had was a stock that never even made it out of Chyna - easy enough for AliExpress to make the call in my favour when the seller didn't bother resending, refunding, or even letting me know. I'd certainly agree with the statement about not ordering anything from anywhere outside the UK at the moment unless you can afford to lose it. It seem like Border Farce have got a real throbber on for seizing anything even remotely assault-toy related being sent to individuals, legality or defences be damned.1 point -

I always recommend 2 LiPos, so you can switch at lunchtime. Over-discharging can fatally damage them. If you are running the Core on the stock motor, you might not get the best performance with a 7.4v LiPo. I would add an SHS Hi-Torque Motor (or equivalent) to the 'must upgrade' list to give you a nicer trigger response and more reasonable ROF (14-15 RPS) on a 7.4v LiPo - that's the setup I typically use on my guns with 'stock' internals.1 point -
Op-tac the Kingdom 27th June
TheFull9 reacted to Jacob Wright for a topic
Myself and some of the team recently attended Op-Tacs ‘The Kingdom’ rural site in Cheadle. I thought I’d write up a review as I’ve never really heard of it before, and only came to know of the site via their Instagram page. The Kingdom is one of two sites used by Op-Tac, and is advertised as the Midlands “largest Airsoft venue” with 200 acres of skirmishable woodland, interspersed with tracks, paths, (lots of) hills and plenty of trees. The site is an old Quarry, actually known as ‘Huntley Wood’ and used an activity centre and venue for other outdoor events. On-site camping is advertised but be warned, this is only for their full weekend events. I’ll touch on this at the end. Green fees are £35 for non-members, with a £10 deposit payable in advance. An extra £5 will get you lunch and there is a very limited on-site shop, more on this later. Chrono limits are fairly standard, 350fps for AEG/HPA/GBB, 450fps for a DMR and 500fps for a bolt action rifle. You are asked to chrono with a 0.2g BB, and a point to note is that this is a biodegradable BB only site. There weren’t any toilets as theirs have gone missing, but Rob (Head Marshal) explained they will be back in place for the next game day. On our arrival there was a marshal at the gate who directed us to the car park. We were on site at 0800, along with about 10-15 other cars. There is currently no safe zone in use so everybody is asked to set up from their cars which was not an issue as it was a nice day. Registration took a little while due to having to walk to the opposite end of the car park to get a signal on their card machine. All 4 of us took up the £5 lunch option which was a chicken and stuffing roll and a drink. There is no escaping the fact that we waited about 2 hours for the safety brief, with chrono opened about 45 minutes before that. It was a long time of standing about just waiting, and eventually we were called to gather for the safety brief. This was another half an hour, probably one of the more in depth briefings I’ve had at a skirmish as it included reading out parts of the risk assessment and control measures. This isn’t a dig at them for doing so, at the end of the day it does make people aware of the risks involved. Once the briefing finished a scenario was explained and we were split into our two teams. Bands vs Non-bands, one half as a NATO SF unit and the other as a Russian SF unit. Initially we ‘Russians’ would be defending a hostage and falling back through two village areas and then to the hilltop fort. Fairly straightforward, defenders could be re-gened by a medic after their first hit and would then have to go to a fixed regen point after the following two. They would then have to wait in the next fall back area. Attackers had unlimited lives. As newbies to the site we followed the advice of some regular players and set ourselves up on a ridge line inside the trees. As the attackers advanced we were able to hold them off quite easily, as although they would pick a few of us off they never managed to completely push through our position. In the end the Marshals made the decision to ‘JDAM’ all of us defenders and make us move to the next fallback positions so that the attackers could finally advance! The ‘villages’ consisted of fairly standard airsoft barricades made of wooden crates, pallets and scrim netting. The hilltop fort was made up of 2 Hesco bunkers and a large number of mounds which offered good fire positions. Either side of the fort were steep drops down to valleys completely filled with trees and very loose ground. As defenders we became aware of a sniper team who had almost completely flanked around us, so we dispatched them by rolling grenades down the slopes; very effective. Once the hill was captured we broke for lunch. We didn’t feel that the roll and bottle of water were quite worth the £5, but there were enough for everybody to have two each so this softened it a little bit. I also took this opportunity to check out the on-site shop. It did seem a bit pricey with a bag of 3300 0.28 BB’s being £19.99 and TAG AFG-6 grenades at £12.95 each so I was glad we’d brought our own. After lunch it was a simple reversal of the game before. We attacked and pretty swiftly rolled through the enemy positions. They held us up at points but we were able to keep up the momentum well and people operated well as a team. Throughout the entire day I can think of only one time when I heard somebody complain about hit-taking, with lots of calls of ‘good shot’ or ‘well played’. Our little team decided to carry out an extreme flank of the hilltop fort, which meant we advanced on it through thick trees, ferns and up some of the steepest hills I’ve come across in Airsoft. As we moved on the fort two of us had to physically crawl up a slope to engage the defenders with pistols and grenades, which was absolute great fun and I only wish I’d been able to record it. When this game was over it was about 3, most people were absolutely knackered and decided to call it a day, but about 15 of us remained to play a quick ‘infection’ type game which lasted about 20 minutes but was good fun. All in all, as a team we agreed that we had a really enjoyable day. Sportsmanship was second to none, with only one incident of grumbling which we heard. There was a lot of full-auto fire but its a big open rural site with lots of natural cover so wasn’t an issue. We would really like to visit again for one of their Milsim weekenders and see how the gameplay differs when more of the site is used as we only saw a fraction of it. The area we used was big enough for the amount of players present, with plenty of different sections to fight through so the entire team didn’t get stuck in one place. On the camping, we had attempted to contact Op-Tac by Instagram, email and then phone to see if we could stay on the Saturday night to avoid a 2 and a half hour drive on the Sunday morning. We didn’t hear anything from them but as it was advertised we decided to bite the bullet and turn up on the Saturday night anyway. We were met with a locked gate, and following an series of phone calls ended up staying at a local campsite (Hales Hall) which at £20 a car and having really good facilities we couldn’t complain about. After speaking with Rob the next day he explained that camping is only available at their weekend events, and their website will be amended as necessary. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this site to anyone, just be warned that the hills are steep and I was shattered the next day! Fighting light is key!1 point -

so.. a little update. the email I sent was sent to the wrong address..completely my fault as I can't obviously read a name on a piece of paper and type the same thing into a computer. After sending another follow up email to the wrong address I thought it was strange that I didn't get some sort of acknowledgement so I made a few phonecalls (HMRC and then BF) and eventually found the guy who sent me the letter and he told me about my stupidity of sending an email to the wrong address. he turned out to be a top bloke and we had a bit of a chat and it seems like everyman and his dog is trying to order RIF's without some sort of defense (he quoted over 150 seized currently). After I gave him my site membership number and then got the site to email him confirmation he has released my parcel back to UPS so I should get some sort of update on the UPS website in the next 24/48 hours. Fingers crossed UPS don't balls it up from here on in.1 point -

I bought some camo gear from Novrisch and its been sitting in customs since 24 May. To be fair they sent me a lengthy email with how to contact customs etc but it seems customs are a big black hole. Parcelforce (who are the local courier who should be delivering this) are pretty much saying its out of their hands. One of my friends just bought an SA80 from Europe and it got "lost" between customs and the shipping company. I guess I'd be wary of ordering anything you can't afford to lose at the moment and maybe let the local UK retailers take the risk of importing goods and customs. To balance that I've ordered a few small things from russia, etsy (shipped from Ukraine) ebay and aliexpress which arrived and had good updates and they arrived a reasonable time. Has anyone had any success in chasing couriers down or customs when their goods have been stuck?1 point

Guns You Think Are Good, but You Hate Them Anyway.
Cromulon1994 reacted to Impulse for a topic
You beat me to it. Glocks are undeniably great handguns. They're reliable, have a high magazine capacity, easy to use, they're everything you want in a pistol and if I had to carry a handgun I'd probably go for a Glock 21 as it's got all that Glock goodness and comes in .45 calibre. It's perfect. But I still hate them; give me my impractical m1911 with its outdated single stack magazine. Also, in airsoft... AEGs. Yes, AEGs. I think they're the best weapon platform for airsoft. They're reliable, they'll work in all weather, you can put thousands of BBs through them with no issues and all you need to do is swap batteries if you get low. Also, with how far hop rubbers have come along, they're reaching similar ranges to bolt actions (not quite the same, but comparable enough where you can just aim up or dash forward 10 - 15m to get in range). To top that off, you can run hi-caps allowing you to never run out of ammo, or even use a drum mag if you so desire. Or you can up them to be DMRs and bridge the gap between AEG and bolt action, getting the middle ground "best of both worlds" platform. All in all, they're amazing, they're versatile and they often look really good. But I still hate them. They sound silly, they're loud(er than HPA), and they're so uncivilised.1 point -

@lilredmachine Hey dude, I saw your comment on my channel but cannot find it to reply 🤔 For the indoor gameplay I use a GoPro mounted straight onto the top of my Dye i4. A buddy 3d printed it for me but you can get them from badas.design, high-pressure Airsoft or even use a handlebar mount and poke it through. Very sturdy and gives a really nice POV for gameplay. Thank you for the view, feedback and question 😎 (I'm already subbed to you as I love the product go overs).1 point -
In that case I would recommend Shadow 2 instead - adjustable competition trigger + rail for flashlight (also can mount red dot with some 3rd party mounting plate). From budget side ASG P-09 is absolute beast out of the box but there are literal 0 upgrades available on the market. Same with all CZ pistols really -------------------- Here are Skara's AAP-01s - SMG setup and sidearm setup - missing mounting rails for flashlight/laser and some red dot but look at this and tell me it's not pure sex:1 point
