Finally sorted out my A&K LR300 Good deal from Titano Store for £165 but needed some tlc to get it working well. (Was shooting 260fps way right and some of the screws were completely wrong type) M100 spring, Maple leaf macaron, reshim including motor height set on half shell, bearing guide and now shoots 320 dead straight 👍

  5. Visited Camp Sparta in Lincolnshire yesterday, here aa breakdown of my thoughts and review of the site if you will for anyone thinking of paying them a visit. Pros The site itself is awesome, a 31 acre complex on an old RAF barracks consisting of 15 buildings, with roads and large outside areas in between. This not only means you can play a variety of different games and really mix things up, but also that there is literally a role here for everyone and every type of player and gun from Snipers and DMRs right down to compact SMG and pistol users. The Marshals were really good, only had one instance all day of someone suspected of not calling hits but wasn't the marshals fault. Overall they kept a great eye on games and made sure they were running smoothly, helped by the majority of players playing fairly and honestly. Only one suspected not hit caller and another player who cracked a door open just enough to stick his pistol through and shoot after just been told in the briefing this was not allowed. But yeah, neither the marshals fault. You always get the odd dickhead who'll cheat or at least try to as soon as their back is turned. Facilities were really good, the car park had plenty space for everyone and was literally right next to the rooms used for equipment and gearing up. So, if like me you take a lot of crap (some say too much), it saved me making multiple 2-3 minute runs to and from the car. The gearing up area was large and had plenty tables and space for everyone, to need to jostle or get there early for a good spot, almost everyone could have had a large table to themselves if the wanted. I imagine it gets busier, but still, there was plenty more space still available and having room to spread your gear out on a table was welcome. The toilets were also proper indoor toilets, not as clean as 5* hotel, but a million times nicer than a porterloo for sure. The freedom to use the entire site was great. All but 2 of the buildings were in play and you could use them if you so wished. For me this been my first visit didnt lead to much, more than once I entered a building thinking I could cut through to the other side to flank the other team or get round them only to find dead ends a dark ( pitch black ) corridors. But I'm sure with greater knowledge and experience of the site you could really get to know your way around the site and all its buildings, most of which were of considerable size too, each one like entering a mini maze with many of the entrances and exits sealed off and entry only gained at certain points. Also, just making your way down a dark interior corridor with just a flashlight and laser on your gun for light felt awesome. My first experience playing indoors at all and I liked it. Cons The Morning briefing took far too long. They had some technical issues with their projector apparently, but even so, It took the piss a\ bit just how long it took things to get going in the morning. I arrived just after half 8 and it was almost 11 before the first game was under way. Now I hate been rushed, I like having time to arrive, get my kit sorted, gas up and load up etc, have a smoke and morning coffee etc. But almost having enough time to watch a Lord of the Rings movie between arriving and getting playing is a bit of a joke. People were just milling around for ages before they pulled us into the morning briefing, and the briefing itself was overly long. I get you always have to cater to the new players and rentals too, but theirs rule explanation and then theirs giving a 20+ minute power point presentation and it just felt way too excessive. Explaining the rules shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes, and then a few more minutes to go over anything specific to that site regards safety, safe zones, where not to go etc. After the briefing there was yet more milling around before we were finally assembled and given the first game There was a game played in the afternoon where there was a serious imbalance in the teams, caused by an avoidable situation. The teams in the morning were very balanced it seemed, but we started the afternoon playing a game attacking 2 buildings, and the other team clearly had more than a few people who had done this before and knew the drill. The drill, it became clear, was to stock up on grenades galore and camp at the top of the stairs in each building, making it nearly impossible to get any further than half way up the stairs. I seriously lost count of how many grenades they used, but it was a lot, and after half an hour we'd got absolutely no where, with every member of their team camped at the top of staircases, not a single player on the ground floor, just rolling grenade after grenade down on us between mag dumps any time any of us popped our head and shoulders round the corners with our guns up. Now, we could have made some headway if we'd had grenades of our own, several times we made a bit of a push and got into positions where we could have chucked a grenade to help take the top of the stair cases, the marshals eventually tried offering advise and were telling us to use grenades too, but none of our team had any, none. The other team had apparently bought several hundred over dinner time. All it would take is for them to give a heads up that in the afternoon, knowing how that particular game plays out, that it might be a good idea for atleast a few people on each team to grab some grenades. To their credit they saw how we were stuck in a none win scenario and stopped the game after half an hour or so, but it was just a frustrating game really, either make both teams aware of the situation or limit the use of grenades to a set number per team and also make them have players spread out a bit with some on the ground floor. So that the attacking team doesn't find 20 odd guns aimed at them at the top of each staircase. Other than those 2 little rants which perhaps made it sound like I didnt enjoy the day, I have to say I really did. The site itself and facilities were top draw and was well marshalled by and large. Just a shame it took so long to get going and that a heads up wasn't given for the first game of the afternoon. Overall though, a great site. I'll definitely go back at some point, just a shame its almost 90 minutes away. If it were closer to me I'd certainly familiarise myself with this site a lot more.

  9. i presume from the scratches you're using a coin? which is how it's meant to be opened, never met one that was so tight it couldn't be manually opened and i sure as shit aint hulk hogan. most of them don't even need the coin- you can do it via fingers sadly the stock answer of "brand new- send it back" probably aint gonna be so good here given novy boy's reputation for customer service, you probably werent pulling the trigger right....... if the above tapping suggestions don't work and you really wanna get it open and really don't give a shit about preserving the finish then a set of channel locks and a coin in a shifting spanner will give you extra leverage, but that's the end-game brute force and ignorance method.

  10. Hi Pete, thanks for that, not busting for any one RIF in particular, although I'd like an Ares L1A1 (having missed them twice now for the reasons stated) and/or an S&T Sterling but both are in short supply it seems. In specific defence terms I wouldn't want to be seen as taking the pee though, it's not like my UKARA has just run out. Mind you if buying aftermarket upgrade parts helped with my defence (mainly several gear sets off you over the past couple of months) I'd be sorted! Cheers.

    What have you made?

Not a particularly epic make just a small alteration to make a rig more useful to me . I’m not a great user of pistols always carry one but vary rarely extra mags so the ones you often find on rigs aren’t much use to me . Bought a mini rig of @lucaslu1709on theses very forums (cheers bud👍) which had two pistol mag pouches on the front , so split the two centre seams on the elastic , stripped the webbing panels off the front of the pouches then stitched two sections of elastic to make one single and used the shock cord from the top of the pistol pouches to make the bottom retainer . Simples !

  16. tbh i reckon there's no real true answer to this both sides have good points and bad points. anyone using silicone oil, alcohol, or nothing at all to clean their barrels are still at least cleaning their barrels. which is better than not cleaning at all which is the trap so many fall into.

  17. Cybergun are responsible for the best available FAMAS release at the moment, if memory serves there are two versions of it and it's reportedly half decent but this is based on remarks I've heard in passing. Ares product the B&T APC-9 which I think Negative Airsoft made a video of work being done to one recently. SRC produce the XM8, I believe one of the forum members (name escapes me, @Asomodai perhaps?) owns one or two. ICS and G&G both still produce various iterations of the SG55x and GHK also produce a GBBR version of the 553. I think there are a few other companies that produce Sig SG55x's too but I can't recall which off hand. A lot of it falls down to availability and which retailers are stocking what. I have a G&G Sig 553 which is an incredible gun (at least externally) but getting hold of magazines is pain in the arse and usually quite expensive. While a most of the pistols you have mentioned don't have airsoft version (at least from memory) the HK45 definitely has an airsoft version (I owned the Tokyo Marui HK45) and I think there is a version of the IWI Jericho from KWA but it's NBB if memory serves. Regarding the 5-7 comment, I know someone who has ran a Tokyo Marui FN 5-7 for quite a few years now without issue although I also followed a re-build on reddit last year which has left me very tempted to pick one up for myself.

  21. The map is in the works, and I started scraping some of the data from AirsoftRanch as well, but lots of this data leads to nowhere, so it's a slow process. For example, yesterday it took me about an hour to find all the info I needed for 3 sites from a single organiser. As for the roadmap, I can share a little bit: More filtering options Countrywide map of airsoft sites to browse and pan around Support for location services to show what's near you Grading system to establish "recommended" sites

  28. I wanted to shrink it a little bit, so turned it inside out and washed it at 10 degrees hotter then I should have. Sadly it didnt shrink, but even inside out, it faded where as my jacket is still full colour. The Predators I have ordered are the same size, but has a higher waist, so hopefully will fit better. They sold their last Large this morning so had to plump for XL. My waist is right on the cusp of the two sizes. I have given up on the dye idea and sold the Revenger Trousers to a fellow forumite

    What have you made?

Now fully functional. 8 full power shots from 1 co2 cartridge set at 450psi. Now its a matter of trimming the tube to make it more compact and bulding the launcher around it.

  30. I call bollocks on that. A light clean won't do shit to your hop rubber, of course it'll deteriorate if you leave it soaking in alcohol for 6 months, but a 10 seconds pass won't do absolutely anything. With that being said, I use 8mm filters to clean my M4/PDW barrels (becuase the 6mm ones I use for rolling cigarettes), tighter fit but they work well

Actually they arent a matched pair, as the jackal was only made for Alucard after he first encountered anderson, and he then started dual weilding them. Lol, i had forgotten about that beast... but it would have limited use due to many sites not allowing TAGs... and somehow i dont think milsims would allow/appreciate it

2nd hand Cyma CM041 highspeed stripped of the dark green / black camo paint. Re-shimmed gears, already short stroked 4 teeth on the sector gear so took 4 off the rack to prevent PEM. Wired in a Gate MERF mosfet to the rear (loads of room in the stock) new air nozzle (worst part of any Cyma!) and threw in a Maple Leaf hop rubber and nub. G&P front end with LED torch, I have some 2mm lexan coming to make a lens protector for the inevitable CQB shoot out 🤣 Shooting 340fps (+/- 2fps) on 0.20g and 19rps on a 7.4v I could run an 11.1v but I don't need 27rps!

  39. Finished my MWS and TM Glock builds! Thanks for all the info you guys. MWS shoots 450 FPS right now, G34 shoots 315, G26 shoots 250. Anyone know how to increase the FPS in the glocks? I can provide a full parts list if that would help (almost nothing is stock). Also, for the MWS, the bolt doesnt lock back on the last shot/empty mag. Any idea how to fix it?

  42. as above, to bring the gun into the UK as it is, will require you, the owner, to have a valid defence as prescribed under the VCRA (Violent Crime Reduction Act) to demonstrate that you will use the RIF in a safe manner. Lets put the airline aside for a moment, and concentrate on the legal side: 1) a UKARA REGISTRATION (not licence, as Lozart said) is the easiest way to obtain a defence, though probably not possible given your situation. is it possible to leave the RIF with a friend or relative for a couple of months whilst you "earn" your UKARA registration? 2) there are other defences, which might be worth looking into, you can read the particular part of the VCRA HERE and the amendment HERE. On the second link, search for the word Airsoft and you will find what you need. 3) if you can paint the gun so that it appears unrealistic (ignore the myth about having to paint 51% of the gun) you can import it as an IF provided that you are 18 or older. just make sure that you apply come common sense, paint something that isnt covered when you hold the replica, and use a bright colour that doesnt incorporate a camouflage. really, if i were you, id give the relevant parts of the VCRA and te documents in the second link a read, you should be able to figure out the best way of keeping your RIF that suits your own personal circumstances, and remember, most people on here will help you, just ask us Welcome to our community EDIT: the second part i forgot to write: As for the Airline, they may well be a little nervous about allowing an imitation firearm onto an aircraft, but after explaining what you intend to do well ahead of time, and transporting the RIF safely should sort all that out. First, ring the airline and ask if it is possible, explain exactly what you intend to carry, and make it clear that you want it to go into the hold, and not into the cabin with you then make sure it is kept in a suitable container, id personally put it into a hard case, locked securely. you can expect the lock to be broken when you get it off the carousel, as the security teams at both airports will probably want to inspect it to ensure that it isnt real (use a TSA padlock and they can open it without breaking it). keep a note in the case that explains what it is, that it is incapable of handling or discharging any form of ammunition other than lightweight BBs, that its muzzle energy is at or around 1j and that it is used for airsoft skirmishing. if you dont paint it, put your UKARA details in there as well, including Name, Full Address, UKARA number and any other details you can think of once you get to the airport, hand the case/bag over when you check in and explain what the contents are, so that they can make sure that it doesnt cause a scare later on down the conveyors and most of all, think of everybody that will handle or see the case/bag after you hand it over, and make sure that they have no reason to keep it from you. it goes without saying that the RIF should be inert, with no battery loaded and ideally, the magazines stored in a separate compartment or even a separate container and NEVER EVER use the word "Gun" "Firearm" or "Weapon" at the airport, whilst youre carrying a gun bag or gun case. Also DO NOT remove it from the case. if the check in clerk or security ask to see it, explain that it is an RIF and that you should take it to a private room first
