Sorry, but got to call utter BS on that one. Also, as some one else has pointed out, all pellets can shatter on hitting mesh goggles. Should also be noted there seems to be far fewer reports of pellets splitting in the gun with blasters than the majority of other brands. Oh and their own description

That weird abortion of a 'honey badger' wouldn't have been the aesthetic example I'd have chosen in all honesty.

  11. OK so further to discussion elsewhere on the forum, if I can get patches made for about £8 posted, how many of you will want 1 or more? My plan is to have a bit less margin and have the finished article being about 65mm high, with a plain black edge and velcro on the back. I've redone the pic in higher quality as a pdf for the manufacturer's software to deal with easier. You can see that here. I have asked for a price for a few sized batches and to have about 5mm extra margin all around the pdf image. Any ideas, things i've missed, etc please don't hold back. For now, guessing by other patches i know have been similar i'm guessing at about £8 posted per unit, but depending on take up, it could be a shade more, but then again if it goes monster it will be less...

  12. Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and glad there is one out here for Airsofters in the UK. I'm 17 and from Derby, UK. I specialise in on-the-field radio communications. Because I'm not a completely rich guy I usually rent my weapons from the field I'm playing at, however as a general concencus, my clothing is usually Black Boots, Black Combat/Cargo Trousers, Green Shirt, Black NATO Jumper and a Black Tactical Vest. However, I am very in to Radio Communications and you'll often see me at the field with my own radio setup as well as spares for my team. This is how I originally got into airsoft, I started playing to use my Radio Comms skills in a real-life-like situation. My local field is Skirmish Airsoft Nottingham who put on some great all-day lasting games. Please feel free to drop me a message as I'm not shy. -Michael. A.K.A. Alphoria.

That's pretty much true. People don't like certain brands etc based on a few experiences and bad batches, in reality the majority of them are largely the same.

Lets not get overly dramatic, a plastic bb shattering on mesh will have lost almost all of it's energy, so it's not exactly dangerous. I've had bb's shatter on mesh goggles before, little bit of grit got in my eye, not blinded. Interestingly had a chat with a guy who was sourcing bb's wholesale from China, apparently there's only 4 or 5 factories which make them, so a lot of the brands will be practically identical.

Blasters are not designed for Airsoft. They are for target shooting and crumble on impact. They can be dangerous when they hit mesh masks as they often go through the mesh. Devils I'm not sure about but blasters are banned at my CQB site for good reason. So are Bulldogs.

Dont worry about ICS parts, The only thing different in the gearbox is the AR latch, everything else is standard V2 parts. The M4's are a dream to work on with the split gearbox. Can have a spring change done in 10 mins without having to touch the lower gearbox. I had one for 4 years and the only problem I ever had was a stripped piston (again a 10 minute fix) The only problems you would encounter with ICS's m4's are the receivers as they are unique to the ICS. Rail systems, If you want to change it you will need a G&P delta ring, and lastly the Hop Unit is unique as well but they are excellent so no need to change.

  23. You could possibly ask if a skirmish site staff member who knows you and your parent are regulars at the site can verify that fact with a local airsoft shop. Not sure if they would do that, nor if a shop would accept that as proof that the sale of a RIF was for use as an airsoft skirmish weapon, although it would be entirely legal for them to sell a RIF in that way so long as they were sure of that proof, so there's no harm in asking.

Well that wasn't really my point. IMHO, the actual honey badger looks good, but the ARES version is a very iffy copy to say the least. I spend a lot of time telling people that it's ok for people to like different things so I assure you I'm aware. But I think it's fairly generally accepted by a large amount of people that of all the guns ARES have done, that one is rather ugly, hence I wouldn't have picked it to argue that ARES make nice looking guns, because you're less likely to convince the audience.

Nice but still pretty basic. Their stuff like the msr, AW. 338, pgm and DSR would have been better choices lol heck even the KAC lmg would've been a good choice. More of a wow factor.

Ares really have made some very nice guns aesthetically but that really isn't one of the ones to prove the point

  28. Logically that would seem to be okay, since a UKARA registration's function is to ensure that a retailer is selling a RIF to someone who is using it for airsofting, and that is ultimately what you would be doing, but in regards to granting registrations, the UKARA site does actually state that 'to become UKARA registered airsoft player you are required to take part in three games'. So unless you get your parents to do that, then technically it's outside of the requirements for a registration. Having said that, I would ask at the site itself. I'm pretty sure they'd tell you the same thing I have, but if you don't ask then you can't know for sure if they'd say it was a no-no. However, consider this... It isn't actually a legal requirement for someone buying a RIF to have a UKARA registration at all, since all a UKARA registration is, is a convenient way for a retailer to check if the RIF which they sell is going to be used for one of the legitimate purposes listed in the VCR Act (i.e. for airsoft games). The UKARA scheme is not mentioned at all in the text of the VCR Act and is in no way a 'license', although it is mentioned in the VCR Act's guidelines. So if a retailer can be absolutely sure that a RIF which they sell is going to be used in that way, then it is not illegal for them to supply it. An example of where that would be entirely legitimate, is if you were a regular at a site which had a shop, and your parent came in with you and said they wanted to buy a RIF for you as a present. The shop staff could be certain that it was a legitimate sale because they would have seen you regularly skirmishing and would therefore know that the RIF was going to be used for a legitimate purpose, and in fact that would actually be a bit more sound in terms of legality than checking a UKARA number, since how can a retailer really know that someone has not simply gone to three skirmishes, got registered, bought a RIF, and then never gone skirmishing again, nor has any intention of ever doing so again? What would not be okay, is if you gave a parent the money so that they could buy it for you, since it has to be a gift, but of course who would know if that had occurred?

  29. This ZOS 6-24x50 is broadly similar in appearance if it's just the looks you are after, not identical of course, but it isn't that pricey for a scope and would be okay on an airsoft rifle: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sniper-Air-Rifle-Airgun-Gun-Scope-24x50-TELESCOPIC-SIGHT-SWAT-Vector-Optics-/221297157999?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item338656a76f

  31. 7 days, including a weekend generally, if you order Sat / Sunday it should arrive Friday. In comparison gunfire only takes 4 days excluding weekend, they are closer to Germany and only take 1 day to leave Poland as opposed to two days coming across Poland from taiwangun. [ETA] although gunfire did sit on my order for 3 days and still sent the wrong sized lid. It amazes me that airsoft world will charge £10 to UPS a gun, yet for £11.50 UPS will shop it all the way from Poland.

I don't think thats really a very good assault rifle. Rather too heavy and long to go storming a position with it. If you can have the Barret, I want one of these: http://www.shootandscoot.co.uk/shop/vickers-303-machine-gun/ £775 plus £300 for the tripod.

  45. I'd go for the Anniversary Edition, it has a metal receiver whereas the standard CM16 doesn't. And of course it's kinda special since there are only 10,000 in existence. Externally I think it looks a lot better, not sure if internals are any different. But thing is why change the handguard for a clone magpul one? I mean, the handguard you already get is basically a copy of it, so it's going to probably feel similar anyway. And when you mention the reviews do you mean of the genuine Magpul one or the £14 one..?
