  1. I've mulled over one of these many a time over the years, ultimately went for an ACOG for my M16 carry handle upper because that's what the Bad Company 2 M16 in BF2042 has and I love it tbh (early 2000s aesthetic). But I've never not been able to find airsoft clones of the retro Colt scope clones in stock somewhere any time I've looked, I have to say. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006287579209.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_allItems_or_groupList.0.0.197c1c55QbPYS5&pdp_npi=4%40dis!GBP!£41.64!£41.64!!!51.45!51.45!%402103846917172473533577324ea631!12000036620160530!sh!UK!0! https://www.amazon.co.uk/SPINA-OPTICS-Hunting-Handle-Reticle/dp/B0C5CXQRP4 (Same product at these 2 links I'd guess) https://www.octagonairsoft.com/product-page/fcw-4x20-scope-with-colt-marking

Hi, I am selling my MK18 RIF. It shoots great on 0.36g BB’s. I have owned this brand new since 2022 it has only been fielded 4 times. The TM GBBR series really are superb in build quality, reliability, and realistic feel. I will be sad to let this go, but it is just gathering dust. Chronographs at 330-335 FPS with 0.2g. What you see is what you get. It does have the odd mark or two as seen in the photos but is in excellent condition overall. It will come with 4 magazines; one has developed a leak, but I’d imagine it’s the one that doesn’t have the modified output valve fitted (they come in sets of 3) easy fix, just needs one of the good spares installing. I have marked the leaking one with Sellotape on the Magpul. Modifications fitted to the RIF: First Factory Strike HOP Arm for Marui M4A1 MWS Magpul (real) CTR Carbine Stock - Mil-Spec (Flat Dark Earth) BAD Lever bolt release LayLax 6.03mm (250mm) Inner Barrel for M4A1 MWS RA-TECH RA NPAS Kit Marui GBBR MWS Dynamic Precision Reinforced Aluminum Valve Blocker For Marui M4A1 MWS Guns Modify EVO Stainless Steel Output Valve for Marui MWS Magazines (3pcs) I also will include: MWS speed loader adapter Angry gun NPAS nozzle 3 x original magazine valves The original parts for the RIF except the original stock as I can’t find it. Asking price includes postage and paypal. Or collection from Lincolnshire.

Im pretty sure with phone calls, docs printed, emails sent to relevant airport customs and airline depts and desks, RIF’s could be brought I don’t want the hassle of that for my associate I was in the west coast USA a few years ago and the surplus stores are crazy to rummage around, as @TheFull9 says, it’s shopping 80’s style - go visit and see what you can find 😵‍💫

  5. Tough one. The refund won't cover the fees you paid, and it'll have to be delivered to them, so you don't want any hiccups at the Taiwan end either. And I believe that if you've opened a "wrong item" dispute with PayPal then they'll also make the unreasonable demand that you send the "free gift" back, at your expense, before they'll refund you. If that's the case, and you do go that route, then it would definitely be wrong - although no more unscrupulous than what SWIT did - to send them a box of grit and feathers, labelled "XM16E1". I'd just bear in mind that you only get one chance with PayPal, so taking the $60 and cursing their ancestors might be the least bad option.

That would involve stripping it down. I believe it is a standard LCT nozzle, which should be 19.7mm.

  14. Let's face it, all politicians are self serving cunts, the mere desire to do the job should automatically disqualify someone from doing so. Whoever gets in will do whatever they think will get them more votes so they can spend longer on the gravy train. Fortunatly the UK airsoft scene provides lots of jobs and some decent tax revenue , which are good arguments for not fucking about with it.

Yep! That would seem to be an issue. I have just looked at the lad's one and the nozzle is fully engaged with the hop rubber lips.

There’s about 1/5 open area with the nozzle fully fowards, so I think that’s the next thing to remedy. Seems to be the likely culprit!

What you are experiencing is normal. With the hop fully on, the BBs cannot make their bid for freedom and get jammed up; if you keep doing it, you risk damaging the piston/sector gear/tappet plate. When the nozzle is fully forward, the tip should be in the lips (ooer, missus!) To check the nozzle/rubber interface for air leaks, make sure there are no BBs in the chamber, turn the gun upside down, put a bit of paper over the feed tube and pull the trigger. If the paper does a credible impression of a Russian tank turret, the nozzle and rubber are not sealing. If it stays still or just moves a little bit, all is good.

    What would you get?

Stick to camo clothing, nylon kit etc. I have no idea what your tastes are but somewhat as was said above, US surplus costs peanuts there but the postage is of course a lot; easy way to save on whatever you fancy (I like woodland camo kit from the early 00s myself). This may not be relevant to the offer you received, but tons of surplus stores in the US are literally owned by some crusty old vet who hates tech, doesn't want to use the internet etc etc so their stores don't even have websites. From what my mates over there say a lot of the bargains require shopping the 1980s way.

Playing a bit fast and loose with the use of the word "budget" there, aren't you? They average anywhere between £65-£80 a pop! Great motors and I've used a few myself but I wouldn't call them a budget option.

  27. A mix of stuff I bought at Shift Your RIFTs and items that weren't available/in stock with retailers there. The hicapa was 2nd hand from someone selling for £80, but I needed to buy a mag for it as the one it came with wasn't TM and didn't lock back on empty. For the AAP I got the stainless steel hammer set, auto sear and fire pin lock, an ultra lightweight blowback unit, a 50 degree flamingo bucking, a crazy jet barrel and a hadron 300% return spring and short stroke buffer. Already got the h-plate for the build in the AAP and it has been performing okay so far, but it's time to make it mean and hopefully more reliable in the cold! For the hicapa, I bought the nineball magazine rubbers and a crazy jet barrel. Got a spare ML hop rubber and h-plate in my bits box so all that will be an "it'll do" build until I can get the rest of the stuff from hicapa hub. Might do it later this month, but will see. And the 60 degree flamingo is to try in my m700. If I like it, I'll also try one in my MWS.

Followup: Should be sorted now with a smallish AK2M4 care package. The gearbox shell continues to surprise, it seems less Chinesiumy than most, and was quite resistant to being radiused. What a bizarre decision to fit crappy plastic bushings with a decent (but unradiused) shell, gears and piston. The shell also has some helpfully-annoying posts intended to keep the very thin stock wiring in place that need removed in order to use anything chonkier. The notchy semi trigger (also reported by other owners) is down to the safety lever that blocks the trigger tending to stay very slightly raised when the selector on (or around) semi. It should wear down, or just nudge the selector a tiny fraction more towards auto. As an aside for the "wut spring 2 get maxumin powar?" question, with the stock spring, plus a new bearing guide, o-ring nozzle, Specna rotary hop (I think), Maple Leaf bucking and a ~330mm 6.00mm[*] barrel, the no-hop power with 0.28g went from <1J to >1.25J (adding some hop brings it under 1.2J for my regular woodland sites, although I may not get under 1.13J with properly hopped 0.2g for CQB ). Air seal is king. But good God, it's time consuming to work on, with so much take-down and put-back to do anything. I nearly wept when I realised that I'd put the gearbox back for the eleventeenth and what I thought was the final time before fitting the hop and barrel, despite repeating to myself "Put them back as a unit" over and over. [*] An XT from AK2M4, labelled as 6.02mm from a sample batch that came out under-sized and was sold as such for a bargain price - it is indeed a proper tite-boi.

Honestly as a grown adult who has a mortgage and has seen that payment go from "tm recoil" to "GBLS DAS416" a month courtesy of Truss (elected by the Tory membership) whilst seeing a 14 year slump in my actual take home pay honestly, I love airsoft, but the less the current tory party (who by the way have a very nasty tendency of knee jerk bans and sneaking stuff into legality through "questionable" means) have to do with running the country the happier I am.

What I think is that volunteering has merits and should be encouraged. However, what I know is that Uniparty Blue has cut funding for the National Citizen Service by 2/3rds since 2019, and reportedly Sanook personally tried to scrap it entirely as chancellor. So what I conclude is that this is an unfunded, unplanned, entirely fantastical Hail Mary announcement by a man who doesn't mean a word of it, and whose wife is already picking out the curtains for their Malibu mansion. When James Dimly was rolled out to explain that this definitely compulsory probably unpaid indentured servitude would likely not have an element of compulsion, maybe, it became pure farce.

They are proposing that the 30,000 going to the military would be engaged with logistics, cyber security, procurement or civil response operations. For those volunteering, they would work with the NHS, fire service, ambulance, search and rescue, and critical local infrastructure, among others. I am not sure how a mere 25 days per year would result in them making any appreciable difference to those organisations. Funding for all this is also an issue; it looks like 60% (around £1.5 billion) of it will be "diverted" from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which was established to replace the financial support that community organisations lost when we left the EU..

"Volunteer work" sounds like the classic out of touch Tory sentiment that reflects those who had the privilege of not needing to earn money because their parents were more than wealthy to cover them. On top of that, it's just a way to legalise not paying people for their services and make up for the shortfall.

God how tired and desperate must they be to try and peddle this old rope? I am always skeptical of people who push national service in the name of building 'community'. If only it were that fucking easy! If we are interested in building community and stopping the disintegration of 'civil society' we must start much earlier and rethink the core values that have been rammed down people's throats. As Thatcher infamously said 'there is no such thing as society'. This disastrous myth, the first commandment of neoliberalism, insists that we are individuals first and only. We must support ourselves, we are on our own. People been fed this shite for a long time now. How can a society hold this toxic credo at its core and then demand national service in the name of solidarity and community, some nebulous greater good that they have little to no real share in? How can those people who are richest, who have benefited most from a prior era of relative stability and prosperity demand anything from the first generations in a long time projected to be far worse off than their parents in almost every metric? It reeks. Youth clubs have been decimated for over a decade. Even third spaces for adults seem to be slowly drying up. Wages are stagnant even while corporate greed continues to squeeze us. Childcare costs are beyond extortionate. AI is apparently coming for everyone's job. Housing is in total shambles. Our rivers and seas are being pumped full of shite... like its an actual fucking shit show! The caliber of leadership has utterly plummeted. They are out of ideas, just throwing shit like this at the wall now to see what might stick. Labour won't do much better but I think seeking a bit of stability and taking stock of the situation without a fucking new leader every 6 months would be a start.

This announcement has 30,000 military placements for 18 year olds in 2025, but the ONS statistics have 1,577,000 16-17 year olds Under 2% would be able to fit into military national service, and the remaining over one and a half million would have 25 days of ‘community service’ What’s the military placement? 25 days as well? Doing a course ? Great - make people do something for a month to supposedly learn life skills and social values that the community and education hasn’t over almost two decades https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpddxy9r4mdo.amp https://www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/employmentandemployeetypes/timeseries/jn5p/lms

This should be done at a school level. The Government should put the money that it would cost to fund National Service into actually funding schools properly. As for the influencer and crime comment. It's more of an indicator that working a low paying or an average job, means you will be poor and never own a property. So for many these "Shortcuts" for making money is seen as a more likely way to become wealthy to desperate individuals. I earn just above the London Average. But when the London Average is ~40K, I at 39 years old will never be able to own a property. Force the cost of living and property cost down would help dramatically with societal health.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this, if national service was a thing when I was 18 I reckon it would have made a huge difference to me personally but I wouldn't want my kids to do it. I can only imagine it'll stir the loins of the older generation who already turn out to vote Tory in higher numbers than the youth but the younger voters will be more likely to vote against the Tories for this reason alone. As a jock I typically vote SNP as not other party 'ticks all the boxes' for me but after the changes in the SNP in the past year or so I can see Labour stealing a lot of votes north of the border too this time, possibly my vote as well but I'm undecided at the moment.

To be fair in the last 23 years I've noticed a move away (within the RN anyway) from stereotypical Full Metal Jacket style screaming and what used to be refferred to "character building" type activities to a more modern type of management with an emphasis on translatable skills such as maths, english etc at all levels. Also there's a much greater awareness of neurodiversity and how to work with/enable such individuals with regards to teaching etc. (I've been working in an instructional role for 6 months now and the DTTT/DTC training goes into this in quite a depth.

I suspect this is more symptomatic of what remains of the Tory party throwing policies out and seeing what sticks lest they end up in the queue at the local job centre on the 5th of july. Whether or not there is any intention of actually re-establishing national service is entirely different. Whether or not national service cures all the UK's ills is entirely different BUT if it ends up giving young people some basic life skills and drive rather than the belief that they should be an influencer or hang round stabbing each other or some such shite its probably not a bad thing.......

Plenty of other countries have national service, and quite a few have reintroduced it within the last few years. I don't think it's a bad thing by any means, but I don't think it will be cheap, and I don't think it's likely to be something that's going to happen within the next five years (not on any meaningful scale anyway). The logistics of it all as well as the need for personnel to train these national servicemen are likely to be major stumbling blocks.

  48. Sample setup for Summer overnight events. Selection criteria are relatively low cost and light weight for warmer weather. This example doesn’t follow the military three line system but does have three elements so items can be dropped off easily if needed. 1) Weapon and chest rig holding fighting load of ammo, smoke, bangs, water & radio. 2) Belt kit (molle waist pack). This holds shelter system, sit pad, precooked food and perhaps a light weight jacket and socks. As previously discussed. Can be worn on it’s own strap or attached to the fight load with some extra clips. 3) 25L pack. To carry sleeping system and some extras. A) Lid pocket with first aid and admin stuff. B) Main compartment with fold up mat, light sleeping bag, ground sheet/bivi bag and insulated jacket. C) Side pocket with cook system. D) Back pocket with tools and spares for gatt. E) Side pocket with another canteen. I’ll break down the specific choices and some options next.

  49. For those unfortunate enough to require glasses for airsoft and don't particularly want to wear your glasses under goggles or wear contacts, I came across these guys with 5 star reviews on google and 4.9 on trustpilot, I thought I'd give them a go for you. https://www.reglazemyspex.com/ I'm short sighted and require some prescription lens so everything at long distance isnt blurry and I dont get a migraine from squinting the f out my face. I brought a pair of nuprol lens insert eye pro from here: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/nuprol-battle-pro-eye-protective-airsoft-glasses?fv=7711 Firstly I emailed their support and asked them if its something they accommodate, friendly guy came back to me and said it was fine and they would be classed as full rim lens (cheapest). I'm honestly shocked by the cost of the lens and the quick turn around. I picked the most basic package which was anti scratch distance lens at £6.99 but with postage came to £11.69. I ordered it on Wednesday and was emailed all the usual confirmation etc and a member of staff emailed me a royal mail delivery label, which was for 48 hour tracked delivery, so boxed it up, put the label on it and handed it into the post office the same day. They received the insert on Friday and within a few hours of receiving it, I had confirmation come through that the order was complete and was reshipped out on 48 hour tracked delivery again. I received the lens today with a thank you card and two cadbury chocolate éclairs! Tried the lens out and checked my long distance and could see everything just like if i was wearing my specs. Hopefully the service these guys provide stay top notch and you guys can save a bit of that cash for extra "toys" 😂 P.S. I don't know if the site admins want to reach out to them but they did say they was open to discounts for members of clubs, online communities etc. Here's the pics.

For those who want lens inserts without paying over the top prices that specsavers or vision express charge. https://www.reglazemyspex.com/ I dropped them an email about the inserts, they said they do quiet a few of them and are classed under the full rim service which starts at the £6.99 price. Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/96iv6r I hope this helps. P.S. Just ordered my glasses with inserts, once they arrive, I will send them the lens insert and give you guys some pics and feedback once I get them back. EDIT: I tried them out myself and left a review here:
