Welcome to the site. Please do give your local site a try; I am 60 and still play at least twice a month and know a couple of even more ancient players. It is a great hobby. As you are probably aware, in order for a seller to sell you a RIF (ie: a gun that is not two-toned) you need to demonstrate to them that you are going to use it for a legitimate purpose; the most common way of doing this is by getting a UKARA registration. You can do this by playing a minimum of three times in no less than 56 days at the same site; they can then put you on the UKARA database and might charge you a "membership fee" for the privilege.2 points -

It's the what was available and won't break the bank on Amazon version. Tbh I've never seen the point in spending silly money on clothing which is only really used for dicking about in the woods one day a month. Only just realised how dodgy that looks, especially with the guy on the left looking like he's asking wtf I'm doing 😂😂😂2 points -

I've been lurking around reading the threads on the forum with interest. I'm pushing retirement these days but in a previous life carried and shot many different types of real weapon systems/firearms and now am thinking of using RIF's as wall hangers in my study. Deacts are expensive these days and the legislation grows tighter by the year. I like the GBB pistols and rifles that are available as you can actually shoot a few targets in the back garden without upsetting too many people and have a bit of in the shoulder recoil. The ability to go full auto is a nice feature too.... Looking to pick up a M4 to begin with and may (if my knees, ankles, back and shoulders allow) nip down to my local skirmish site. Jim1 point

Well I don't know if it's true but I heard that a Scotsman ended up in hospital after dropping a pound coin off the top of the Blackpool tower. Apparently he ran down the stairs to the bottom and it hit him on the head! 🤔😉1 point

ASG MK-23 Vs TM MK-23 Vs SSX23
SeanM reacted to Enid_Puceflange for a topic
I owned and upgraded the TM variant A chum did the same to the ASG version so as we could compare back to back The TM does feel nicer in the hand and the trigger does feel much smoother as @Impulse mentioned above. My TM did shoot marginally further (like 5m) but for some reason with better accuracy. The TM mags are a pain in the ass to fix when they start to leak, which ultimately was the reason I got rid of mine I had 4 mags, of which I could only keep 2 running properly. But the other reason I got the TM was for the Lam and it’s nice little case Plus the fact that when I was inevitably going to sell it on, I knew it would hold its value better and return me a higher % of my outlay costs than the ASG version would Every penny is a prisoner to a tight Scotsman 😉1 point -

GHK AKMS GBB with 3 Mags and a box of spares
Archer reacted to mightyjebus for an advert
This advert is COMPLETED!
- For sale
- Used
Hi All, Relisted because of the worst buyer I've ever encountered. Up for sale is a GHK AKMS with 3 leak free magazines and a box of spares. The GBB has had real soviet furniture added including a RS pistol grip. There is the odd scratch and ding but it's an AK so it looks better. there are some deeper scratches on the mock gas piston but it's inside the gas tube so can't be seen. The 3 mags work fine and leak free. Since I need to give a FPS I'd say 330 on Vorsk no. 6 on a nice day (basically it's gas and weather dependent). The spares include a couple of nozzles, hammer, springs, new buffer, a complete recoil rod, a couple of furniture sets and loads more. There's enough there to keep you rocking for a while. I'm looking for £550 and no splits or swaps. It will come boxed but in a VFC AK74 box as I have no idea where the original box is. The function is very realistic and probably as close as you can get to the real thing.£550

From what I've seen, a pretty good portion of all the TS uniforms floating around in the world are either all-cotton or more budget PYCO fabric and they tend to go fairly white after a good bit of use/washes; at least the TSP and Rothco stuff that's been around a while, not sure about the likes of emerson and ilk.1 point -

Special Ops are going to have one more skirmish (Dec 2) and will then go on hiatus as Carlos builds up his new CQB site (which he hopes to open early Feb) ... so I might well feel the need for a new site to visit. South Herts sounds like a good stop-gap Good day on Sunday... well not personally I got killed a little too often, I didn't get many clean or memorable kills, and my left knee occasionally hurts like a bastard, as I exacerbated a football injury. But it ended better than it started... the last couple of games played in twilight (and then almost total darkness) were really quite fun! Here's Dan and me before we got muddy (Quite pleased with my gun's camo paint - a video I watched recently said the most important thing was to camo the gun against your own kit. The colours might be more urban / desert than originally intended, but the overall effect still works well against my multicam)1 point -

So after months of life getting in the way, today I managed to get to South Herts Airsoft just south of Hemel Hempstead. Despite getting royally buggered by the gods of public transport it was a really good day. The site is well run with a relaxed atmosphere and an emphasis on making sure you got a decent amount of game time but without feeling like you're being rushed. The games themselves were well thought out and worked well with both the layout of the site and the numbers (they were fully booked but had a number of last minute cancellations, total was 23 iirc). Hit taking was also really good with no "wtf?" moments. On site facilities weren't great (portaloos and tables under gazebos) but they're still a new site and are planning on making changes so I can't really fault them there. They also had a selection of drinks for sale and Combat UK were there with bbs, gas and pyros for sale. All in all I think I've found my new regular site1 point -
Spent a good deal of time recently converting my A&K Mk43 Mod 0 into a Mod 1 by installing a new railed top cover, railed front handguard and M60 birdcage flash hider. None of the parts fit without modification so it was quite painful! Still, pleased with how it's looking. It's not quite done yet, I'd quite like to change the finish of the receiver, barrel and gas tube to be a darker grey or black. And an authentic Mod 1 style top cover would be fantastic, if only anyone had ever made an airsoft version!1 point

Why would you get rid of this and buy an mtw? It's nearly identical externally and internally. You're gonna sell it with a loss and spending 700 quid on a new mtw? Just asking. I'd say 60-70% of the total value you spent on this build. Just be aware that people are skint so there is a chance you have to lower your price even further in the near future if you can't get rid of it.1 point

I picked up a red dot sight, off here, and decided to design and 3d print a protector. 1st prototype looks cool enough but cutting the acrylic sheet round and then fitting it into the holder was too much. So . . Prototype mk2 Happy with that one. Printed quickly in PLA so I'll get some better fillament, maybe ABS, and print it properly. Designed in Tinkercad, sliced in Prusaslicer, printed on an Anycubic Kobra.1 point

Sorry guys, I should have made it clear. I've written the gun off as a loss to be honest. I was just giving an update on the situation and keeping it on topic at the same time. Unfortunately for her, now that I've got no other distractions I'm completely focused on getting my son back into my care and safety.1 point

Wow, @DrFumbles, firstly thank you for sharing that, can't have been easy, but it does put a whole new context on the situation. The fact that you have her demands on text etc, plus the fact you have previously discussed this with your gp & other healthcare professionals is a massive positive, you can take this information to the police, in fact there's nothing to say that your not entitled to insist they take action against her in regards to "controlling & coercion", which could have numerous outcomes, possibly giving you an opportunity to return to the property under escort to retrieve what's rightfully yours (to that end I would consider putting together a list of everything that is solely yours, jointly owned items may not be touched at this time without shit kicking off). Allowing the police to act may also convince her to release your stuff, as a start to show contrition for her previous behaviour, something any legal representation would advise her to do as cooperation goes a long way if done in the early stages before cps decide on charges. As for you contributing to the break up by essentially keeping a confidential "diary" within secure email drafts, NO FUCKING WAY IS THAT ON YOU, it just highlights the extent she was going to in order to maintain control, & is another fact that supports your case for the police to act. Good luck mate.1 point
