  4. UCP Delta Just a brief note for those who don’t know what UCP DELTA is. The info below is paraphrased from Soldiervsystems articles, PEO Soldier and US militaria forums. UCP camo sucks, but the decision was made to field it. Reports from Afghanistan were not good so a process was started for possible replacement. UCP, AOR & Marpat are printed using the same screens but UCP used only 3 with a different palette. Therefore variants of UCP with less grey and more brown were simulated. Of the five (A-E) C & D looked the most promising. After further simulation a version of D (UCP Delta) was deemed most effective. Uniforms, covers (hats and helmets) plus TAPs were made and issued to a battalion alongside commercial Multicam. The upshot is that OCP was adopted as everyone and their mother had said it should be in the original trials that produced UCP. 🤑🤑🤑

  5. Special Ops are going to have one more skirmish (Dec 2) and will then go on hiatus as Carlos builds up his new CQB site (which he hopes to open early Feb) ... so I might well feel the need for a new site to visit. South Herts sounds like a good stop-gap Good day on Sunday... well not personally I got killed a little too often, I didn't get many clean or memorable kills, and my left knee occasionally hurts like a bastard, as I exacerbated a football injury. But it ended better than it started... the last couple of games played in twilight (and then almost total darkness) were really quite fun! Here's Dan and me before we got muddy (Quite pleased with my gun's camo paint - a video I watched recently said the most important thing was to camo the gun against your own kit. The colours might be more urban / desert than originally intended, but the overall effect still works well against my multicam)

  6. Sample molle 2 load out based on early issue setup. There are several proscribed kits in the manual but recipients seem to have ignored them from the get go. 😉 This load out is based on a full molle set rather than the hybrid Molle/Alice/IIFS that was first seen in active service. Rifle M16a2 with an after market three point sling. Vest chassis FLC. Adjusted so most of the load sits on the waist belt. The front mag pouches are set high to make prone shooting easier. Back in the day rifle mag pouches are often seen sat above each other as there are a lot of molle rows. RHS: Frag pouch with compass Double magazine pouch Medical pouch as utility Bayoney/knife 1 quart canteen LHS: Frag CQB mag 2x double mag 1 quart canteen Dump pouch is a modern add on for skirmishing. A leg bag would be more common at this time. Waist pack on rear with a bit of snivel gear & 24hr sustainment. In period pictures the canteen pouches are often worn further forward as utility pouches or simply for access. The set up allows for eight plus one mags carried, so one pouch could be for a MK18 smoke. In early TAP setups triple singles were commonly run behind the mags so troops are carrying 12-16 magazines on the vest. Example from operations in Iraq. Armour carrier with canteen forward and bandolier on the upper chest. The issue sling has been modified to fit the side of the stock and somewhere around the delta ring. The knuckle duster is optional.

  7. had a look at the A4 this weekend and they have removed the wiring from the front handguard and put the wiring for the battery in the full stock. plenty of room in there for a big battery. Downside is you can't easily swap out the stock for something that folds without rewiring the AEG.

  8. I agree totally with the shotgun and AEP opinions. M4's might be considered a bit dull and common, but they're popular for a reason, the ergonomics are just so good. Easy to fit optics. Magazines are abundant and cheap. Webbing to carry those mags is easy (army surplus etc) Typically easy to maintain. So I wouldn't rule out an M4 of some description unless you're truly against the idea. If you stay in Airsoft for any length of time you'll end up with one anyway. Thompsons are fun but I'd rule it out for being a bit too niche... With poor ergonomics, and no option to fit an optic. (Optics may not be strictly necessary - though I found mine very useful yesterday when playing in almost darkness - and they're fun to buy) AK's and MP5's are both very cool, I'd go with either of those. Just consider the logistics of your magazines when choosing... Are you going for high or mid cap? Do you prefer to carry them on a belt or chest rig? How 'authentic' do you want your loadout to be in the longer term? You don't want to end in a kit cul-de-sac that might limit you future RIF purchases

  9. Today, I took another trip to Airsoft Plantation. Unfortunately, their other site, Tower Airsoft, is now only open on the last Sunday of the month; I miss the Saturday games there. Numbers were a bit lower than usual, which resulted in more open play. I took my newly built MPi-AK74N to set the hop and test the power; it came in at 1.24J, which isn't bad on an M100 spring! This was very much "smoke grenade day" at AP; every game involved designated "bomb runners" having to get smoke grenades somewhere and set them off. The first game of the day involved the Blue Team (that was us) having to transport two smoke grenades to the Town Hall in the village and set them off in it. We had infinite respawns on a marshal while the defenders had two lives, one of which had to be taken in a village structure, while the other had too be taken outside a structure. As a team, we decided to spread our attack across the front and left flank of the village. Initially, I went straight up the middle but it soon became obvious that the enemy had that area well covered. Having been hit, I regened and went up the right flank before cutting left into the village along with a number of other players. We pushed hard, supported by another group on our right flank, and got both smoke grenades into the Town Hall. This game was then turned around and it was our turn to defend; along with several others, I took up a position in the village suburbs, intending to hold up any flanking move by the Red Team. This went well for quite a while as, despite losses, we prevented the enemy pushing into the suburbs, picking them off as they tried to get close. However, some of our group had to redeploy further down the flank as we became aware that enemy players were flanking wide in attempt to attack the village from the rear, leaving us weakened. The enemy attacked again and I was hit, having to leave my structure and fight in the open. Noticing two enemy players who had flanked us and were behind a building, I moved up to it, peeked round a corner and took the first of them out with a couple of close range shots, followed by another enemy player who was in a bush just behind him. I ducked back behind the corner to try to work out what the other player behind the hut was doing; peeking around the corner again, I saw him and put three shots into his chest. He ducked back round the corner and, as I advanced, shot me in the face at point blank range, leaving a deep gouge and a lot of blood. Wanker! The Red Team failed to get either smoke grenade into the Town Hall. After a break to mag up (and clear up the blood), we started a new game. The Red Team started behind the Mortar Pits and had to get a smoke bomb into each of the Town Hall (village), the High Tower and the Boathouse. We started on the firebreak and had a 10 second head start to try to get into defensive positions. A group of us headed to the Boathouse and secured it; after a while, it became obvious that the enemy were not putting us under any real pressure so half of us decided to go on the offensive, attacking the Mortar Pits and moving up on the enemy's rear as they attacked the village and the High Tower, although we feared that the latter might have fallen as it is very close to the enemy's start point. After a stiff fight around the Comms Truck, we swept through the Mortar Pits and were buoyed up by waves and cheers from the remaining defenders of the High Tower, who had withstood many enemy assaults. We ended up attacking the enemy as they attacked the village: it was a very messy Red Team sandwich. After lunch, during which the player marshals were switched to the Red Team to try to get them going, our team took up a position at the DEA Base, with a mission to get a smoke bomb into the Town Hall. The Red Team started in the village and were tasked to get a smoke bomb into the cockpit of the plane at the DEA base. I stayed with the group defending the DEA base; after quite a while when not much happened, we noticed movement indicating that the enemy had flanked around the site and were attacking from our rear. Redeploying, we had a really good firefight with them, with lots of buddy regens on either side. After a long fight, I was hit and had to fall back 30 metres and and find an unengaged teammate to regen on. This proved impossible as everyone was in combat, so I set off to find our attacking team and regen on one of them. Just as I found them, our smoke bomb was set off in the Town Hall. Game over! This game was then turned around and a group of us went on a long flanking manoeuvre to do exactly what the enemy had tried to do to us in the previous game. Fighting through various ambushes and a poison gas attack and taking casualties, we approached the DEA base, only to be attacked by a lone enemy player who had crept up behind us. Most of us had to go back to find a friend to regen on. When we had regrouped, we pushed on again, only for the same player to do the same thing again. More regening and off we went again, this time keeping a good eye on our tactical rear. After a stiff fight, our smoke grenade was thrown into the cockpit, signalling the end of the game. It was a really good day, despite the incident with the wanker, which was dealt with really well by the marshals. Guns used: APS UAR LCT PP-19-01 Milbro M1911 Classic (CO2) Sounds good; it will be interesting to see how it develops.

  10. So after months of life getting in the way, today I managed to get to South Herts Airsoft just south of Hemel Hempstead. Despite getting royally buggered by the gods of public transport it was a really good day. The site is well run with a relaxed atmosphere and an emphasis on making sure you got a decent amount of game time but without feeling like you're being rushed. The games themselves were well thought out and worked well with both the layout of the site and the numbers (they were fully booked but had a number of last minute cancellations, total was 23 iirc). Hit taking was also really good with no "wtf?" moments. On site facilities weren't great (portaloos and tables under gazebos) but they're still a new site and are planning on making changes so I can't really fault them there. They also had a selection of drinks for sale and Combat UK were there with bbs, gas and pyros for sale. All in all I think I've found my new regular site

  13. I man-handled his pew-pew (yub-yub etc) The grip (and perhaps also the weight of the Elcan) do a good job of neutralising the normal rearward weight bias of the L85, so it's ergonomic, even if the looks are, as Dan says, a bit... off? Somewhat 'inappropriate' foregrips are nothing new though, apparently...

  14. The grip is nice and comfy, but I'm not smitten with the looks. The Elcan is a compromise too, but it has better eye relief than my previous show even if the reticule is a bit "Fisher Price" 😁. 16. It was a good day at Worthing. Glad I went as I was on about 2 hours of sleep. Thankfully I could get a lift, if I'd had to drive myself I'd not have gone. It was a smaller turn out than usual due to it getting colder I presume, but after everyone had warmed up with the first two games the fights got a lot better. TAC was shooting well, even in the wind. I also ran an AAP01 i bought off a mate, barely used, with a couple of extended mags and managed to shutdown some pushes with it. Hop up was finicky to set, but once it was dialed in it performed quite nicely. Definitely looking forward to adding some extras and fine tuning it a bit, I get why people like it so much. It was also the first run of my new mimtech S-RCS ghillie. It was pricey but it's a solid bit of kit with really, really, good colours on the base. For the morning I ran the green side, even though it's still quite green at the site, I think it was a bit bright for the time of year. For the afternoon I ran it on the brown side, which worked out much better. The first two games were pretty lackluster as @Impulsesaid. No one on our team (yellow) really pushed. I tried at the end of the second game, after we switched sides, with just a pistol but it didn't work out that well 😂I was mostly busy that game landing some nice shots on their players moving up that were peeking over a barricade thinking they were safe. The juggernaut game was a lot of fun. A gaggle of ghillies (5 of us) decided to flank up a path that put us right outside the patrol zone. It was a bit of a waiting game, trying to not be spotted by an LMG wielding marshal, and waiting for the bell that disabled the juggs for 30 seconds to be rung. Fortunately blue team were on it, and managed to ring the bell, unfortunately they were a bit slow on the push, so I managed to get into a good window and just spray into their push while some others on our team grabbed a can. It was first to two cans wins, and blue rung the bell both times 🤣 Next game was standard attack/defence on tower. I got some nice long range hits on people. Accidently youtuber'd it by hitting a guy in the head at 70ish meters. Though if I had a cam I could at least edit out the first two misses before the third one hit and pretend I'm much better than I am 😆 Yellow team did well this time. Took some encouragement but they pushed into tower and we managed the win. After lunch was the highlight for me, other than the jugg game. It was a fallback defense through a few of the bases. The twist being the attackers had to run a stretcher through those bases to claim them as a spawn point. Defenders were on one life with a medic before having to fall back. It started with a real test of my new ghillie, by sitting down in front of a tree in full view of the attacker's spawn. Had to hold still for a few minutes because some dog walkers wandered onto the site and I didn't want to get seen while we were all waiting. I managed to get away with this for a few minutes longer than I expected to, which I will call a success for now. The next point I spent mostly firing shots into the bushes hitting flankers with the aap. Again, loving this thing, it performed admirably, and being able to use my old glock mags is a big plus for a sniper's side arm (lookin' at you WE galaxy). I was hit a couple more times and ended up falling back to sandbag bunker, a notoriously defendable position, while the blues tried to run the stretcher out of tower and past the cross. I don't how long we held this position for, but it must've been close to 30 minutes. I was positioned perfectly behind the bunker to cover multiple barricades they were using to push up, as well as the cross itself. Just landing shot after shot. I don't think I've had that many kills in a single game, ever. They eventually managed to flank an push the last of us out, but that only pushed us back to outpost, which we held for perhaps a further 10 minutes before the game timed out at 55 minutes. Then we switched sides. It was massacre. Yellow team had really stepped up from the morning. We were swift and efficient. Though I was mostly sore and slowly walking with the team picking off the odd player. We finished the game off in a tidy 18 minutes. These are teams that had been fairly well balanced all day, so it was a pretty big win for us. The finale was a quick game of zombies. mostly a laugh, but I want to highlight my friend who flipped his autumn version of the mimtech ghillie to the brown side, totally uncrafted, and I watched two pretty competent regulars run right past him, within a couple feet, because the colouring on that thing is so spot on to the damp autumn ground leaves. The mim & tech ghillie is great. Really solid base with excellent colours. You can really get away with lightly crafting it at longer ranges. I don't think mine is quite up to "getting stepped on" quality yet, but with a bit of time and a bit more crafting I'm certain I can get that without it being too bulky. And now I've got two ghillies in one that should work throughout the year. I should've gotten more pics, but here's a couple of my lightly crafted s-rcs

  21. General note on original molle issued gear and collecting. Build quality: Mostly well constructed as with US issues kit. More than adequate for pew pew larping. Bare in mind it was made to a budget, sometimes in a prison sew shop, rather than skilled Vietnamese children. There is a variation in materials and sewing quality. Pouch dimensions can be a bit off so you will have, mag pouches typically, that are very snug. Packs often have a lot of loose threads inside. If you was with them do so with care. Pals grids commonly contain a section that is not square or misaligned. These can some times be overcome by using MALICE clips or similar attachments. Age: Original stuff still comes onto the market seemingly mint. On worn items the Velcro and elastic can have lost much of it’s strength. Colour: Woodland can be difficult to get everything new as people still actively use it and are less likely to sell it on. Still very popular in the US. Tri-colour desert items often turn up unused. Probably because stock were not immediately rolled out and then UCP came out. UCP, don’t over look it. Lots of it out there still in the packaging. It can be dyed, especially the nylon. UCP DELTA. Good luck finding genuine items in this pattern. It’s like the A-team, “…if you can find them…”. Expect to sell a kidney. Coyote Brown maybe heavily stained with someone else’s crayon juice. But parts are still on issue as the Corps doesn’t like to get rid of anything. When did they get rid of the pup tent? OCP/skorpion is still current issue across several services so finding it is not a problem. With the complete system in inventory.

  22. Echoing everyone else, forget about the shotgun for now and the AEP permanently. AEPs are underpowered and generally crap so I suggest saving up for a decent gas pistol. As for AEGs, personally I'd go for the MP5 but that's because I'm very much a fanboy of German guns. However alone problem all the MP5s have is that the high cap magazines can have feeding problems especially on high rof guns. You can get around this by either using the mags Rogerborg linked to or go with mid caps, but neither of these are perfect solutions. Having posted that I wouldn't rule out the AK though as cyma gearboxes and hop units are excellent, especially for the price. Which do you prefer the look of? I say go with that
    1 point
  23. Ahoy and welcome. The AK is slightly more suitable for woodland, the MP5 for CQB, but both will be usable for either purpose - just buy whatever you prefer. You'll want to invest in a decent charger (SkyRC S65 or equivalent) and lipo or (life or li-lion) batteries. I'd suggest at least 2 x 7.4V lipos of 1300mAh or higher. Magazines are another consideration. You'll need to buy more magazines for the MP5, although these hi-capacity mags work well (although are temporarily out of stock at TaiwanGun). As above, I'd forget about shotguns and electric pistols, at least until you have something else reliable.

  24. Sack off the shotgun and AEP idea (Shotgun until you have been playing a fair bit and fancy switching things up, AEP for good). I'm biased, because my first gun was a Cyma 028 - and it was, and continues to be awesome.

Spent a good deal of time recently converting my A&K Mk43 Mod 0 into a Mod 1 by installing a new railed top cover, railed front handguard and M60 birdcage flash hider. None of the parts fit without modification so it was quite painful! Still, pleased with how it's looking. It's not quite done yet, I'd quite like to change the finish of the receiver, barrel and gas tube to be a darker grey or black. And an authentic Mod 1 style top cover would be fantastic, if only anyone had ever made an airsoft version!

  27. Went to Worthing again today, but only played the morning. Only had space for 1 gun, since my other two rifle bags are being used for giving all my m14s to a local tech to do some magic on them as they all have different, but annoying small problems. One doesn't feed, one gearbox is totally locked up and one drops power as soon as any hop is applied. So I decided to bring just my m40a5 and HK45 for a sidearm, as I sorted the m40 last game day and it's one of my most reliable guns, and the HK45 is one of my most reliable pistols, especially in the colder temperatures we're starting to get. Easily passed chrono on both with a little bit of tweaking the bolt on the m40a5 and I'm still using my summer ghillie; there's enough green on the site that it still works, but I'd like to get my winter one done at some point soon. I have all the parts, but I just haven't started yet. I was also testing out my earmor m31s, the ones that are only hearing protection and ambient sound amplification, no radio comms with them. They worked well, suppressing grenade bangs while amplifying the noise of peoples guns and any twig snapping and leaves rustling when people moved, but they didn't amplify voices very well. Well, first game was an attack and defend on the checkpoint and we started from the good side. Got into my usual spot that overlooked the entire thing, but it was ruined by a non-hit taker very early on. My team... was a bit crap and I ended up being by far the furthest forward on my team and the other team pushed up near my position. I shot one with the HK45, a single shot right into the centre of his chest, but all he did was flinch and look around to try and find me. I had to put two more in before he called it, but that was enough shots to give up my position and I had to fall back. Didn't fall back too far, but it meant that we lost our only foothold near the objective. Not a good start to the day and it put me in a bit of a bad mood, but I didn't let it get to me too much. My team never pushed up anywhere near and I ended up being the front line for the entire game, despite having a bolt action with an MED. Second game we flipped sides and the wind started really picking up. I got into a position to cover one side of the checkpoint after I pushed up all the way, but... my team didn't really follow and I had to fall back again. Even in my fallback position I didn't really see many people pushing up past me as I was covering half of the area. Had someone shoot at me, but he wasn't adjusting fort the wind so all his shots were hitting to my left, whereas I adjusted for the wind and hit him out twice, as he got medic'd for the first. The third game was the best of the day by far. There were some jerry cans in the Tower base that the teams had to grab and take back to our respawns, Sounds simple, right? What made it a lot more complex was that the marshalls were all heavily armed and guarding the area with juggernaut rules. They could die to grenades and also if someone got into the Tower itself and hit a bell they all went down for 30 seconds. I decided to use the opportunity to practice my sniper skills and made my own game of it, since I wouldn't be pushing into the area with a bolt action rifle and my heart problems still very present. I decided to make my objective to hit every one of the marshalls at least once while not being detected or hit for the whole game, inspired by a video on the youtube channel that originally got me into ghillie sniping all those years ago. I took it very slow, getting into a position with a view into the Tower base area, though the window in to shoot was rather small so the shots would need to be precise. Furthermore, one of the marshalls is my friend and knew the likely area I would go. Him and another marshall were patrolling the area and looking around for me, but every time I saw them looking over in the area I went completely still. I managed to completely avoid detection the entire game and posted shots onto every marshall present, so mission accomplished for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it and our team ended up winning because my friend's grandson, who has only just started airsofting, managed to get into the base, take a jerry can and run it out before getting hit, but by that point it was far enough out for us to get. Of the three cans, we had two thanks to him, and the other team only managed to get one. I decided to call it there though. I had been fairly active in the morning with all the having to fall back from rapidly approaching enemy players and didn't want to push it with my heart issues still here. 31 week waiting list and I'm "only" 11 weeks in since the referral. Wind was picking up too, so combined with how they're developing the site into what feels more like a CQB site every day sniping was getting incredibly difficult. Next game day I might bring out the SR-25 again, as I'm waiting on the m14s to be sorted and that short m14 will become my go-to AEG once they're done, but for now the SR-25 will fill that void. Would go with the mk12, but it's getting cold for GBBs and with some of the questionable hit taking I don't want to have to be putting 5 shots into someone to get them to take it when I only have 35 in the magazine. We'll see how I feel, but with only one gun bag I have to be choosey with what I bring for now.

    Made a stupid mistake!

I never 'storage charge' any of my LiPo's not the airsoft ones or the ones for R/C . I just balance charge them after use and pop them in my storage box (ammo tin) Then top them off the night before I use them. I've had some of them for years and never had any issues doing it that way.

  33. I did some testing with my primary gat for Sunday's game, gave me a chance to experiment with my slingster. I haven't got a proper spare sling attachment on stock end of the gun at the moment, but I threaded it through a built-in loop on my PTS stock, and had it sitting on the outside. And then I tried the 'proper' method, and damn, yes, the gun hangs much tighter to the body (especially when it's basically vertical), it's much easier to get it tucked under the left arm to completely free up the pistol hand too... I'll definitely train myself to stick to it now. (And I'll order a QD sling attachment for my stock)

This is painful to do, but space is needed for the kids stuff and will be losing my garage soon to a 4th bedroom in our renovations. Shekkin Gear TG FAUST, good condition, bit dirty. Comes with a wee dangler pouch thing for a wee bit of extra storage. Flyye AWS style rack, clips into the front of the FAUST. 8x M4 mags, 4x pistol mags and 2x radios. Protec “Full Cut” skate helmet. 3D printed ANVIS 6 type battery box dummy, non functional old school strobe (needs a battery cover) and a USGI style NV mount hard fastened, size is L/XL. Alice webbing, setup with 3x3 M16 pouches, canteen pouch and a rather rare eagle 3 bang drop leg pouch. I’ve taped up each end of the belt to my size, I suggest you do the same as the metal clips suck as and they fall off/disappear (there are none included) I also have a whole host of other pouches/holsters from this era I will throw in FOC. ideally I’d like it all to go as a set for £250, this includes postage and PayPal fees but I’m open to offers

  39. After seeing people using Gousto boxes as bb catchers on another thread I thought I share what I’ve done for my Airsoft shooting range in the garden. I didn’t use Gousto but Hello Fresh packing material. I’ve used a 60x120cm MDF board and screwed on 1x2 in boards. I then filled it with the packing material from Hello Fresh that they use to keep the meat cold (see first picture). In the bottom of the frame I left a small gap so when I tilt the I don’t shoot from very close (4-10m) but the bbs just stay in the bb catcher and at the end I just tilt the board and the bbs roll out on the side into a bin. Please share your ideas for target practice at home or in the garden

Went down to Worthing again this weekend with my KJW m40a5, TM MWS (mk12 mod1), TM mk23 and TM p226 (that I was lending my friend's grandson as he is currently thinking about what pistols he likes and wanted a go). Got there, got the gear out, took the m40a5 up to the range to set it up, as last time I used it was last weekend's halloween night game and I was running it at 1J on .32s... Here is where the first issue came up. It was dribbling BBs out the barrel on both 144a and green gas, even with the hop completely off. So, that was out. Went back to grab my MWS and... it wasn't hopping. The power was fine, but the hop just wasn't there. Well... crap. Both guns not working. Well, guess I'm not playing then. I worked on the MWS first, asking one of the techs on site if he had a spare omega nub as I had a feeling that was what was causing the issue. I had a 50 degree silicone omega nub and I had a feeling it wasn't applying enough pressure to hop BBs. Fortunately he had a spare one so I put that in and... it worked. As soon as I had the regular omega nub in it was hopping BBs like a dream and far more consistently than it was with the old MR hop rubber that was in from my old bits box that's been sitting there for years. New silicone MR rubber and a regular nub and it's lifting those .32s nicely at 1J (though it's a bit colder now so I had to open the NPAS a little!). Anyway, I had another gun that needed sorting and I wasn't sure what the issue was so I just decided to go from the ground up. I started with the bolt and... that was the issue. Somehow it had come loose and unwound itself so the hammer spring wasn't under any tension so it was barely hitting the gas release on the magazine. I tightened that up again and got it all sorted and took it up to the range. It was 2.5J so I had to adjust the power a little, but brought it down to around 2.2J and it was shooting incredibly well. I was hitting the 75m every shot and with a bit of hop towards the end of the flight I was hitting the 85m target most times as long as the wind didn't take the shot (which definitely happened a few times). It's amazing while shooting with 12x zoom how much you notice the hop up trajectory and all the tiny movements; even deployed with the bipod, at 12x zoom I could see every little movement but I was able to get some accurate shots and hear the BBs dinking off the metal target. This is why I like setting my guns up while nobody else is on the range as I can't properly set it up if I can't hear the shots and when you have mr brrrrrt and his AEG full autoing the 20m target... Yeah, not happening. Anyway, after lunch I decided to zero the MWS as well, getting the scope, 45 degree mounted RMR and the laser all zeroed. With all that done, there was only an hour left, so I decided not to head out. While I didn't play at all, it was still a pretty successful day since I now have two of my main guns properly set up and shooting incredibly nasty!

  42. Awesome day Saturday at Driver Wood. My first full day, as i usually can only get away with mornings - but this time i got a pass from the wife as the rest of the family were out all day.... And what a difference that made to my game play. Rather than frantically rushing about in order to maximise my game play due to only having a few hours, i was able to slow things right down, and be a little more thinking. My usual 2:1 ratio of hitting enemy/being hit that i have been averaging, shot up to maybe 5:1. Goes to show just how much performance is affected by your mental state I think. There was also a few less players than normal (circa 25 per team), which i think helps my play style. First game i opted to run my L96 and Mk23, with just a slightly enhanced el cheapo chinese leaf jacket chucked on over to top of the faithful tiger stripe. Probably the first truly satisfying game I've had running as a sniper actually, and certainly the first where the L96 hits outweighed the hits i got with the Mk23 - I so often find the rifle ends up being a rather heavy decorative piece! Only downer was stacking it into a flooded drainage ditch, and snapping the suppressor off the holstered Mk23 when i stabbed it into the mud. Currently 3d printing a replacement to trial... Second game i ran the XM177, then for the two games in the afternoon, the DMR'd SR25 with WE Glock 19 as sidearm. Cracking games, fast paced, and the newly cleared patched of woodland at Driver Wood really played to the SR25s strengths - meaning that the MED disadvantage didn't outweigh the advantage of having slightly greater range . Still managed to get a few heroic charges into buildings and helicopters with the Glock though. All in, a great days airsofting, and despite almost always turning up to these days on my own, it turned out to be super sociable, chatting with some great guys over the day.

  44. New pistol courtesy of @TheFull9 because 1911s are my kryptonite. Cycles beautifully and in my room easily gets through an entire mag on a single fill. I have swapped out the hop unit and barrel assembly for the setup that was in my other 1911 that hates cycling (ML hop unit with a nineball barrel and ML 50 degree autobot rubber and ML I-key) and will give it a run this weekend. If it runs well, I'll be running it more often because very few people run 1911s and they're incredibly beautiful pistols! Some things never change. My first loadout was an m14 and 1911 because I watched Black Hawk Down as a teenager and thought that one scene was amazing. Still running m14s (I own 2 and want to get a 3rd) and will still run 1911s

  45. It's all relative. I'll drop £500 on airsoft without blinking. I look at a pack of pasta and think; "You can fuck off if you think I'm paying £2.80 for that!"

  46. if this is a ps14 then it will not have the variable gain like a pvs14 and it could be a fat or slim anvis tube - if its gen3 then i would think slim anvis ,as may have been said above - black faint marking while looking at light sources can be normal especially streaking as you move across them .should fade quickly.usually does it when first used and not so much when been on for a few minutes if there is condensation inside then best to get it dried out as it will do harm , if its put together in a dry atmosphere then purging should not be needed

  47. No pewing for me, was all paid up but I decided not to play on Sunday, got a few reasons but mainly coz my backs been giving me jip lately and we're getting too close to the silly season at work for me to be injuring myself (I'm a butcher). How's the front grip working out Dan? & dude you need a proper elcan, stick that one on an AR.
