  3. Nah - you haven't met my missus, she manages to take the universal constant to whole new levels LOLs M16 has feeding issues, but I'm yet to be convinced it wasn't a mag issue - it has an insane ROF though from its 9 ish volt NIMH.. MB01 hasn't been chrono'd in a while but may need a new hop. It is otherwise as it came from Patrolbase. I'll leave that to the boy 😉 - I'm not sure a forum full of airsofters is the best place for advice on girls.

  6. Got my hands on one today…feels a bit “limp” compared to the marui counterpart. Charging handle has a lot of play, everything is bone dry, the springs are twanging like mad, stock / grip are nasty cheap. BUT, the externals are lovely, markings are nice and deep, tiny bit of fettling I think these are a steal. Mag is surprisingly ok, fills fine and will clear 2 runs on semi. GM mags work much better (obviously). The only concern I have, the nozzle seal is a bit shit so we’ll see how that beds in over a few 100 rounds.

Been working on this. Still a work in progress. It's a close representation of the actual minimi's used by the ill fated "Bravo two zero" (as pictured) It's a basic Mk1 minimi, but was fitted with a gpmg flash hider. Mine started as a TOP M249, but has external upgrades, Replica flash hider Guarder steel gas block Guarder steel centre block Guarder steel cocking lever Guarder steel body parts. G&P steel bipod ANGS top cover, This is being worked on to actually have a working round indicator. Genuine rear sight Genuine box mag (period correct) Genuine stock (not fitted yet)

  9. New pistol courtesy of @TheFull9 because 1911s are my kryptonite. Cycles beautifully and in my room easily gets through an entire mag on a single fill. I have swapped out the hop unit and barrel assembly for the setup that was in my other 1911 that hates cycling (ML hop unit with a nineball barrel and ML 50 degree autobot rubber and ML I-key) and will give it a run this weekend. If it runs well, I'll be running it more often because very few people run 1911s and they're incredibly beautiful pistols! Some things never change. My first loadout was an m14 and 1911 because I watched Black Hawk Down as a teenager and thought that one scene was amazing. Still running m14s (I own 2 and want to get a 3rd) and will still run 1911s

both rifles are fairly shit so if anyone can make them better, you deserve a trophy. she is very interesting and I really like her 👍 she is Russian and i have no idea if she fancies me back as i lack the ability of understanding women (hence why i play airsoft) i might be going to Tokyo with her on Saturday depending on what her mum says. however, my mums warned me that there is a bunch of Chinese tourists in the place im going to (99% of tourists that visit japan are annoying), so that may slow things down alot. where do i start? L85 is my favourite gun. its surprisingly comfortable to hold (apart from the A3 handguard), it's easy to adapt to and its iconic. I love my L85 (sounds weird) because its expensive, and I sometimes love it more than cottage pie (depends on the day). but the ICS L85 I've got at home has really good range; i can easily hit a target at 30 metres, and my longest kill was around 60-80 metres at Wycombe (I remember that kill like it was yesterday).

For god's sake child - I told you last night.... I don't mind you having it - it's your mother you need to convince. You should probably sell the MB01 and M16 to placate her a bit - plus you haven't used them really since you got the A1. Be diplomatic... I don't want to get an earful next time I call LOL - I gotta figure out how to get the apartment WiFI upgraded remotely too. Yay me. Anyway - interesting thought this thread is for us - I'm not sure there's a question here for the forum to answer - we're all oversized children playing with expensive toys - you know what everyone will say you plumb. Have you asked that girl out properly yet? 😁

  15. They won't be collectors items, they are a common model, still being made by Classic Army. The age might actually be considered a detriment due to plastic getting weaker over time. The M4 will get minimal money, say £100? The Mp5 is about 230 new, so I would expect £120-130. There are simply better options out there now for not a lot of money with more modern features.

  18. Had an amazing day at Red Alert last weekend. Great marshalling team and a really well put-together site. Everytime I’ve played RA there’s been a good atmosphere and a distinct lack of poor sportsmanship, very happy to say this was the case for this game too. Got snapped a few times as we were attacking the “embassy”. Cheeky sidearm kills are always 10x more satisfying than primary kills Ran a HPA tapped WA Salient Arms AR and WE MP5k for the day, made a lot of noise and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

hello. my first topic thread so idk how this all works. i am living in Japan right now, and conveniently you can buy guns off of amazon and found a rifle I've been eyeing for nearly a year, the WE L85A2 GBB. ive got the money, but i cant use it in Japan because of shit rules over here. i cant play airsoft at a field because I'm not old enough for it, and I cant use it in my flat because my mum wont appreciate the main corridor being converted to a shooting range, and the walls are thinner than tracing paper, and I've also got an L85 back home in England. BUT, its much cheaper in Japan, its an L85, and it never hurts to have a backup L85 (considering its unreliability). @Dan Robinson i'd assume your against it, but i forgot your views on it.

  27. Righty so. In my experience it's horse riders who are the worst. We used to have them trying to ride through site on more than one occasion (despite there being no public right of way) at my old site and the riders couldn't understand how loud bangs and the horse potentially getting shot could ruin their day. It was only when threatened with us calling the police they would leave

  28. I wouldn't say they're not worth it. For woodland games I try to carry a couple alongside my timed BFGs. For safety reasons sites will insist BFGs are thrown underarm below knee height (250g of metal flying through the air can do some damage if it hits someone, ask me how I know). The disposable pyro can be useful if you need to yeet it a bit further. As for smoke grenades, I just tend to buy whatever is available on site

  33. That'll be Eric the dog at Rift. There's a lot of love for him (marshals and players) and heaven forbid anyone that points a pew at him, fire at him and I'd fully expect your body to never be found and everyone to deny you were ever there. Having played there he's a fantastically well behaved cocker and while he may be in the gamezone he's always out of the way, in fact I've never seen him once a game's started. His owner's a great bloke too (typical that I can remember the dog's name but not his!) and he'd certainly not want his dog to come to any harm. Most of us pamper our pets, but it's a gun dog and if it was really working then it'd be in loads more danger. I'm more than fine with Eric the marshal. Rift's a great site too so if you're avoiding it because of Eric then it's your loss because you're missing out on some great game days and you don't get to meet Eric and the rest of the (human) marshals. I wish my cocker was as well behaved.

  38. There's a few options available for those of us who like a good bang at the weekend (fnarr) First up is the thunder flash. Probably the most common airsoft pyro, the most basic ones you simply remove the top and strike the fuse like a match before throwing. There are some which ignite via a ring pull but IMO this is just a gimmick and add unnecessary cost. Call me tight but I'm not spending a tenner a go for disposable pyro. As these are essentially fireworks sites shouldn't be supplying them to under 18s Second is the pea grenade. These are similar to the thunder flash but come in a more grenade like shape and are filled with dried peas to give a frag effect Next we have the blank firing grenade (BFG). These, as the name suggests, use a blank to make the noise and use either .209 shotgun primers or 9mm blanks. Some can also use 12 bore blanks but not many sites allow their use. They come in 2 versions, timed or impact detonated and both types have their advantages and disadvantages, eg the timed ones are more likely to go off but the delay may give players time to get behind cover whereas the impact ones don't but might not go off on soft ground. Legally the grenades can be bought by anyone but the blanks are over 18 only Gas powered grenades are available and are usually impact detonated do can suffer the same problems as impact BFGs on soft ground. Soft ground will also restrict how far the bbs fly if it does go off. Imo they're a bit crap and not worth it. Afaik there's no age restrictions on buying these Last we have TAGG grenades. These are fired from a launcher such as the M203, but unlike traditional moscart shells they launch a pyro which will go off either on impact or are timed. It's worth noting with these that they're relatively expensive and some sites don't allow them so it's worth checking before splurging out on them. I'm sure there's more and someone else will be along to fill in the blanks but I hope this helps

  39. I'll do my best to describe what i've used but i'm sure i'll forget something. Flash Bang Smoke - Disposable; Ball Grenade (loaded with dried peas/BBs) - These can be striker tops like the Mk5 Thunderflash or ring pull. These actually roll really well for indoors and you can bowl them across flat surfaces pretty easily to catch people off guard. Cylinders (loaded with dried peas/BBs) - These act like the ball grenades but are cylinders. Not ring pull, only striker top. Non-Thermobaric Multi-bangs. Great fun. Cylindrical. These are bangs only, not loaded with projectiles. Thermobaric single and multi-bang. These are a bang and bright flash. No projectiles. Also fantastic fun. FBS offer striker top, ring pull and fly off lever options on some of their devices but considering they're dispoable, it's not worth the extra cost for FOL options. Enola Gaye - Disposable; Mk5 Thunderflash - These are the thin cylinders with striker tops. The single cheapest and most common type of pyro in airsoft. 99% of retailers wont sell you (and most sites wont let you use) Mk7 or Mk9 Thunderflash due to the increased sound level. EG67 - These works exactly like the FBS Ball Grenades above. Flash 3.0 - Loud bang, sparks, flash. Come as a cylinder with wire pull igniter. Both FBS and Enola Gaye offer smoke grenades but, IMO, Enola Gaye has the better offerings however they get quite expensive. Reusable Pyro; Blank Firing Grenades - There's loads of different offerings on this from impact grenades to timed and in different calibers too. .209 primers are the cheapest, 9mm (.380) next up and then 12 Gauge blanks being the most expensive. A lot of BFGs only tailor to .209 for airsoft but there are a few still floating around that let you use 9mm and 12 gauge but you've got to be careful with 12G as they can (depending on what you buy) be too loud for indoor use. I'm personally getting back into using my BFGs now i've found a supplier for Magflash which are just as loud as regular pyro but way more fun. Charge/Legit training grenades - Things like the Virtus AG-40 Training grenade are A. Expensive B. Hard to find and C. The charges are incredibly difficult to get a hold of. While they're cool, they're probably not worth it. Gas Grenades - I've never dabbled with them as i've always seen reviews saying seals go bad after a year and it's usually tricky to get hold of spares to fix them and that's without looking at their mediocre performance. Most sites operate a rule where if a grenade detonates inside a certain radius, you die, regardless if you get hit by a BB from the pyro or not. I think the only exception to this rule would be Thunder Bs but they use CO2 catridges and disposable plastic shells which aren't cheap either. They're supposed to be stupid loud too. As a note; I'd avoid using reusable pyro outdoors as they're easily lost and due to their weight, can only be thrown under arm below waist height to avoid serious injury to other players. I'd also mention Taginn grenades. As Emergencychimps says, their disposable pyro is expensive per unit and louder than most sites will allow. Taginn (I think) are the only manufacturer who actually have pyro that can be launched from a underbarrel grenade launcher which is cool but crazy expensive when you start looking into it.

    Dog in the gamezone?

I’m sure the insurance company would have something to say about a dog being in the game zone and the potential for someone to be bitten. I doubt it’s mentioned in the policy. It’s one thing for the dog to be in the safe zone, but in the playing area, with the potential for it to get hurt is just stupid and negligent. As mentioned above, we all go knowing we’ll get hit and it’s going to hurt. The dog, on the other hand, has no idea. I’m guessing we’re not talking about some well trained land shark here.

  41. I've had some luck previously doing a bit of "shopping" during Skirmish days in terms of picking up random skirmishers. Some people are more inclined to want to work as a team than others are, and will listen to people who sound like they have a plan. I've both been the guy with the plan and one of the guys tagging along behind the guy with the plan, and it has varying degrees of success. Sometimes you end up with a handful of people getting some decent cooperation going on for as long as it takes for the group to get wiped out, but once you've broken the ice in that regard those people seem much warmer to teaming up again every time you run across them in the field. Some people don't or won't listen, which is fine: it's a Sunday Skirmish, people can entirely legitimately want to just run around shooting people where ever they feel like, teamwork with you, a random person in their eyes, isn't an obligation. There's also plenty teams going around, there's probably at least one at your local site or at a nearby local site, and teams usually make more of an effort to do, well, teamwork. Don't expect military levels of tactical cooperation, unless they're an ex-military team (who might not be that interested in non-ex-mil applicants), but it's something more than your average Sunday Skirmisher level of teamwork, if that's the sort of gameplay you prefer to experience.

  43. Tokyo Marui MWS SOCOM URG-I Build Having started purchasing parts in February, having had some time off last week, I finally got round to building her. Parts list: · Tokyo Marui MWS M4A1 Carbine base · HAO Mk16 13.5” handguard · HAO SOCOM Daniel Defense 14.5” outer barrel · HAO Surefire 4-prong flash hider · HAO Geiselle low profile gas block · HAO Geiselle Ultra Precision trigger guard · HAO Geiselle Super Precision 1.93” scope mount · HAO SF 556 SOCOM suppressor (hardcore version) · Angry Gun Geiselle Airborne Charging Handle · Magpul K2+ grip · Magpul M-LOK hand stop · Magpul SL Stock · Magpul BAD lever · BavTac Magic Hop Nub · Bavtac Titanium Zet Plate · BavTac 140% nozzle return spring · Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x 24 scope · WADSN metal NGAL · Element Surefire M600C Scout light · Blue Force Gear padded VCAS (Olive Drab) · Blue Force Gear QD sling swivel x2 The build took a bit longer than I anticipated for a couple of reasons, mainly removing the trigger box to install the BavTac Zet plate. What an absolute bastard to remove and it took an age. In the process I also managed to dislodge one of the sear springs, so I had to open the trigger box to re-seat it. Fitting the HAO rail was more troublesome than I remember when I installed the 9.3” version. Getting one of the bolts to slide through the groove on the barrel nut wasn’t as slick this time. The rest of the externals were fine, standfast the trigger guard, which needed material removing to fir properly. This was slightly annoying/disappointing as HAO are usually ninjas with their products. Anyway, a few minutes filing got it fitted nice and flush. Apart from the Zet plate, hop nub and nozzle return spring, the gun has stock internals. Out of the box, on ASG Ultrair, the gun was pinging .28s out to 60m at around 1.1j, with the effective range being around 50-55m. Range and power-wise, it’s still in the same ballpark as out of the box, with the GM Pmags giving a 5-8 fps increase, adding barely noticeable increase to the power output. Using heavier ammo though, wow! Using .32s it was getting to the 70m mark with loads of adjustment left on the hop. However, accuracy was all over the place, with BBs pinging every which way with no consistency. Tearing the front end down again, the hop rubber and hop chamber were covered in silicon oil. Rookie mistake! Hoping that’s solved it because when they flew straight it was awesome. So, what’s good and what’s bad about the latest addition to my arsenal? The good; well, it’s an MWS! It works and works and works. The BavTac Zet plate is awesome, with the bolt catching every time, even with the Guns Modify Pmags, and the MHN is a serious contender for the SixG brass nub. The finished gun, although fairly commonplace, also looks incredible IMHO. The bad? Apart from the hop/silicon debacle, not much more than the suppressor really. I made a huge mistake getting the hardcore version. It’s beautifully finished and the QD system is great, compared with the Angry Gun version I have. It’s just too damned heavy though at 525g. I really should have bought the standard version. How I’ll feel lugging this around an airsoft field tomorrow I don’t know, but I’m chuffed with the result! URGI Build.mp4

  45. Apologies for this very contrived offering. Tired of constantly being broke and stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided to solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife with himself as the beneficiary and then arranging to have her killed. A 'friend of a friend' put him in touch with a nefarious dark-side underworld figure who went by the name of 'Artie.' Artie explained to the husband that his going price for snuffing out a spouse was £10,000. The husband said he was willing to pay that amount but that he wouldn't have any cash on hand until he could collect his wife's insurance money. Artie insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened his wallet, displaying the single pound coin that rested inside. Artie sighed, rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed to accept the pound as down payment for the dirty deed. A few days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Tesco supermarket. There, he surprised her in the produce department and proceeded to strangle her with his gloved hands. As the poor unsuspecting woman drew her last breath and slumped to the floor, the manager of the produce department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene. Unwilling to leave any living witnesses behind, Artie had no choice but to strangle the produce manager as well. However, unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security cameras and observed by the shop's security guard, who immediately called the police. Artie was caught and arrested before he could even leave the premises. Under intense questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan, including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband who was also quickly arrested. The next day in the newspaper, the headline declared... (You're going to hate me for this...) 'ARTIE CHOKES 2 for £1.00 @ Tesco
