Work in progress, BRT CAR15-SD 300 blk replica. This gun encompasses all the best bits of various guns imo; Its a sub-gun / PDW - my fave size. MP5SD vibes - just love MP5s. Retractable stock - again MP5. AR controls - ergonomics. 20rd mags - easy to shoot when prone. 300 subsonics - cool as F in real steel.

New MWS build. I've been startingly original and daring in building another URG-I, but in long boi flavour, to join its schtumpig sibling (points if you get the film reference there!) Mostly HAO and Magpul externals, with a couple of BavTac bits inside; Zet plate, nozzle spring and hop nub. I've put a waaaaay too long description of the parts and the build experience in the MWS thread because clearly I had too much time on my hands when I was on leave.

In the centre ( around the black dot ) was a 10 shot zero at 40mtrs with a .177 air rifle . all the bb strikes was a 40mtr zero with this 😛

30-50mm groupings at 25m? My MWS shooting 0.32g BBs makes a ~30mm grouping at 10m and is considered a pretty accurate and consistent RIF. Certainly able to make head&shoulders shots at 45m (verified) and upper body shots further than that if the target has the decency to stand still 😁 I have the red dot pretty much spot on for 15-30m (closer the person is a much bigger target and can use reflexive shooting and further is a bit of a crap shoot with wind / leaves / walking targets! Getting that level of grouping at 25m without it being an air gun with rifled barrel and lead pellets? Yeah....no.

Have a look at some of the AATV clips on YouTube for an idea on what to expect on group sizes with different weight BBs. Exactly. It's people not knowing the difference between maximum effective range and maximum range. Also, 70 airsoft metres is usually between 40 and 50 actual metres.

This. The number of people I've seen with "my AEG can shoot 70m" then I watch them fail to hit a target accurately at 50m... If you can get accurate 50m, you'll be set

    Too powerful!

Easier way is to buy a new spring. Cutting springs can work fine also but can lead to other issues. I made a handy chart on my website on the XT springs that should give you an idea of where to start. Some AEGs come short stroked from new, some super short inner barrels. Lot of variables which affect power.

sadly you are expecting too much if you want those size groupings at 25mtrs from a standard AEG & holosight .

    Too powerful!

If your gun has a quick change system simply buy a new spring, somthing like a m100 or m90 and replace it, if you know the model and make of your rif do a quick google and find how to replace the spring with your specific gun, i reccomend ak2m4 but other sites are available

That definitely sounds like the problem isn't the sight. How big are the groupings you're getting at the moment? How new is the gun? If it's new then it might be a case of simply cleaning the barrel as they often come with loads of grease and gunk in them

  16. Tokyo Marui MWS SOCOM URG-I Build Having started purchasing parts in February, having had some time off last week, I finally got round to building her. Parts list: · Tokyo Marui MWS M4A1 Carbine base · HAO Mk16 13.5” handguard · HAO SOCOM Daniel Defense 14.5” outer barrel · HAO Surefire 4-prong flash hider · HAO Geiselle low profile gas block · HAO Geiselle Ultra Precision trigger guard · HAO Geiselle Super Precision 1.93” scope mount · HAO SF 556 SOCOM suppressor (hardcore version) · Angry Gun Geiselle Airborne Charging Handle · Magpul K2+ grip · Magpul M-LOK hand stop · Magpul SL Stock · Magpul BAD lever · BavTac Magic Hop Nub · Bavtac Titanium Zet Plate · BavTac 140% nozzle return spring · Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x 24 scope · WADSN metal NGAL · Element Surefire M600C Scout light · Blue Force Gear padded VCAS (Olive Drab) · Blue Force Gear QD sling swivel x2 The build took a bit longer than I anticipated for a couple of reasons, mainly removing the trigger box to install the BavTac Zet plate. What an absolute bastard to remove and it took an age. In the process I also managed to dislodge one of the sear springs, so I had to open the trigger box to re-seat it. Fitting the HAO rail was more troublesome than I remember when I installed the 9.3” version. Getting one of the bolts to slide through the groove on the barrel nut wasn’t as slick this time. The rest of the externals were fine, standfast the trigger guard, which needed material removing to fir properly. This was slightly annoying/disappointing as HAO are usually ninjas with their products. Anyway, a few minutes filing got it fitted nice and flush. Apart from the Zet plate, hop nub and nozzle return spring, the gun has stock internals. Out of the box, on ASG Ultrair, the gun was pinging .28s out to 60m at around 1.1j, with the effective range being around 50-55m. Range and power-wise, it’s still in the same ballpark as out of the box, with the GM Pmags giving a 5-8 fps increase, adding barely noticeable increase to the power output. Using heavier ammo though, wow! Using .32s it was getting to the 70m mark with loads of adjustment left on the hop. However, accuracy was all over the place, with BBs pinging every which way with no consistency. Tearing the front end down again, the hop rubber and hop chamber were covered in silicon oil. Rookie mistake! Hoping that’s solved it because when they flew straight it was awesome. So, what’s good and what’s bad about the latest addition to my arsenal? The good; well, it’s an MWS! It works and works and works. The BavTac Zet plate is awesome, with the bolt catching every time, even with the Guns Modify Pmags, and the MHN is a serious contender for the SixG brass nub. The finished gun, although fairly commonplace, also looks incredible IMHO. The bad? Apart from the hop/silicon debacle, not much more than the suppressor really. I made a huge mistake getting the hardcore version. It’s beautifully finished and the QD system is great, compared with the Angry Gun version I have. It’s just too damned heavy though at 525g. I really should have bought the standard version. How I’ll feel lugging this around an airsoft field tomorrow I don’t know, but I’m chuffed with the result! URGI Build.mp4

  17. No need to feel bad about how often you play, especially if you have other commitments like work or family. Anyone who expects others to make slinging plastic their main priority over more important things like family or being able to pay bills is simply a cunt

Does the rifle group without optics ? as above , set your hop for the heaviest bb you can lift , work out where your groups open up , fit optics and set the zero a bit before that range . so if it groups say .28bb at 30mtrs , I’d probably set the optic up for 20mtrs . but it’s airsoft , wind , bushes and airsoft mean most of it is moot .

IIRC a 50mm or smaller grouping of 5 shots on the 25m range was the pass mark for the basic weapon handling course

  25. Have you switched it to auto and squeezed the trigger? May be a lock up. Also check that the mosfet is properly connected. My son's Specna had really dodgy connectors to the Aster, so that's been replaced by a Perun.

    New TM MWS announced

It's a good job TMs work so well because they're really lacking imagination when it comes to broadening their range. I know people still buy them in droves (guilty) but come on man. An M4, a Glock and an MP5? Really?

  30. Second hand set of clubs from the charity shop £15, bag from same £5, and practice on the school field after the kids have fucked off home, £8 a round at my local ancient uncared for site... OR £2K on clubs alone and £100 per hour lessons, sky's the limit club fees etc. I use the same DAM rod that my grandfather bought me for my ninth birthday, along with the tacklebox and seat that my dad got me for he same event. £150 a year ticket at one of the county's best waters. Or you could do marlin in the Caribbean and pretend to be Hemmingway for Christ knows. Anyhow, airsoft. Like George I play once a month but March to October filmsim or milsim (350 mile round trip so £80 diesel plus £75 ticket). Skirmish a few times in the winter. Much prefer to get away properly once a month and truly unwind, but then Mrs TPH travelled a lot for work in her earlier youth, so family hols are not required, and since we play together with our lad, and sometimes our daughter, it is family time. Leaving the heavy theory out of it. If you decide to learn new lessons when undertaking the same task, you'll get more out of it. Apply it to hobbies and they don't get stale. Complex airsoft games employ so many skills that I doubt I've enough life left to exhaust them even if I did develop them.

  31. i usually play once a month, occasionally twice a month, but occasionally need to take a break due to other commitments, especially since i became an uncle last year. nothing wrong with the Osprey.. i have mine as my main rig (though i have removed the brassards and collar) looking for a more lightweight option to use with the M249 as in the gunner role, i wont need to carry as much kit 36 at last count, at least 7 of which have never left the house, and 3 more have never been fired "in anger"

    Heavyweight tracer BBs

I still think even .3s is a bit excessive for a support gun, considering what you're aiming to do with a support gun is lay down a bunch of BBs You won't get very heavy tracer ammo though because I don't believe it exists, due to what materials are needed to make heavy BBs as heavy as they are and what materials are needed to make tracers all glowy are very different materials.

  34. This is what they call shrinkflation, as posted already it's a common trick in the food industry as customers are more likely to notice the price going up than the serving size going down. I remember hearing about a french supermarket which has started putting labels on the shelves of products that have done this. Its surprising the amount of things done by the big supermarkets and food manufacturers to make a bit more money where they either use psychology or just hope customers aren't paying attention

Sadly the fire selector is still in good condition, I initially assumed it was broken too. I'm guessing it's an internal issue somewhere, may just end up putting it to the side for a while and getting the money together to send it off to a tech and let them deal with the hassle 😂

  39. Every two weeks usually, sometimes more. In the run up to the boy emigrating we were sometimes doing two a week. Expensive but good father-son bonding. I maintain that, once the equipment is bought, Airsoft is one if the best value for money days out..... £30+BBs per person, and i get a 7 to 9 mile run, lunch and, when the boy was here, a fun day without fear of disobedience. Once I've emigrated next year I will only get a few chances a year probably, so im packing what I can in.
