  1. Lost count of the number of times when marshaling a players been reported as not taking their hits, so I've given them an "honesty shot" usually with a pistol from behind in the butt from 40-50ft, & the player rubs where he's been hit but carries on playing.......... Well at least until I whisper in his ear to "go take 10 mins in the safe one & think about whether you want to keep playing today" 😏. No different from what we're discussing here, they make an assumption it's probably friendly fire (or they're not taking ANY hits) & play on....... Wankers🤬

This seems to be the same gun, or at least the same picture of a gun, that is being raffled here: https://raffall.com/343054/enter-raffle-to-win-l129a1-dmr-hosted-by-sbs-armouries?fbclid=IwAR3LK13fbE-rl8ozEVBDou590XvuFJ-BibsWCxeVkuWXrZUsrkOjWbpkluo That seems a bit odd, to say the least.

    Why the sudden hype?

I definitely think there is an element of the first two. Can't confirm on the third, but everyone looks at GBBRs and thinks they're really cool (they are), but can't deal with the low ammo count and the fact that consistency goes on holiday as soon as you flip on the fun switch. Definitely a niche choice and I am happy to be in that niche.

  5. Hello all, Old time airsofter here. Started playing in the late 90’s/early 2000’s very regularly at Combat South and Elite Airsoft back in the day. Haven’t picked up an airsoft gun in anger since joining the Forces back in 2006. Looking to get back into it to enjoy a few games and see how it has changed. Luckily I had the sense to keep my old Marui SR16/Sun Project M203 and my even older Western Arms Wilson Combat .45 (well, 6mm). No idea if either still work mind you so might need a few pointers on spare parts/batteries etc. Any site recommendations around Sussex/Kent would be greatly appreciated. Hope to see you in the field. Ramon

  6. I wonder why he doesn't just cut his losses as he is leaving the hobby and sell separately or at least in smaller bundles especially as the two AKs are boneyard. I don't see many people joining airsoft blowing a grand on a bundle with broken guns and uncleaned kit. Even fewer who are UKARA registered are going to pay for this when they can buy their own AK105, upgrade parts and have peace of mind that the damn thing actually works for a similar fee.

  7. Ordered a load of Glock parts direct from them last year, no issues whatsoever, they shipped the order within 2 days. No customs charges on arrival either, was about £60 worth of bits.

no the 47 and 74 take the same parts with high compatiablity with different brands unless its ics, both are interchangable between its just a preference thing on what you like the look of the only thing youll have to do is remove the rear iron sight as that sits on the gas block

If you trim the hinge off, there is not enough material on the dust cover to fit into the curved slot on the back of the CM028 trunnion. However, the one that BIGwat has linked to 'should' work; my son has one fitted to a CYMA 04x series AK105.

If I use it then one number priority to get it back ASAP and I don't care if anyone else moans about it. I walk into the biggest fight if I have to but I don't trust any fucker. 🤣 Way too expensive to replace it anyway. Fortunately I've got only good experiences so far but that's partly because I'm well aware some people like to collect bits from others.

  14. Genuinely, thank you. There's far too much "friendly first warning" stuff at sites. Without consequences, the only lesson learned is that there are no consequences.

Huh. That's smart. I wonder where's he's hiding the airtags in the grenade. Can't imagine it's just stuck to the outside somewhere in case it gets broken when thrown. Theft is also one of the reasons I sold off some of my BFGs. I'd rather be able to throw pyro/grenades then carry on with gameplay without worrying about it being stolen.

  20. Welcome back to the hobby. I would disagree and say that quite a bit has changed since 2006, but the fundamentals of the hobby are still the same; we still run around in dress up with battery-powered pews for the mostpart. The biggest differences I can think of are that guns shoot a lot further thanks to far better hop ups and prevalence of heavier BBs, there's a lot more HPA going around and you'll see a LOT more people at game days now. Also, consider me jealous of that Western Arms pistol! In terms of sites (you'd be surprised what is still around) in the south, Gunman sites are pretty great and Battle Lakes is also in Kent, though I'm not sure if they do regular skirmishes there; I think it's only filmsim, which is a bit more structured and I would definitely advise you give it a try but it's not for everyone. Outside of that there's Tuddenham in Suffolk and Eversley Alpha and Bravo in Hampshire. You also have Worthing Airsoft (formerly Elite Action Games Worthing) in West Sussex, which has been around since before 2006 and is where I first started playing back in 2005, then you also have Dogtag in Faygate and Driver Wood just outside Crawley. That's all the sites in the area that I know, but that's because I'm in Brighton. I'm sure there are some more sites over in the Kent direction that I don't know about since they'd be a bit far for me.

  21. One of my mates is a sneaky bugger and has caused a few teams to nearly get into big fights over repeated so called friendly fire. Only for a marshal to intervene and suggest that maybe they clear the area better because that isn't friendly fire... At least in those cases the players weren't deciding it didn't count, but got salty when they respawned for the 3rd time only to get shot in the back as they pushed up again lol. I've had to explain a few times to people on my team that the reason I can tell there is an enemy player nearby is because you can clearly hear them shooting. I wouldn't want someone with such dubious awareness to be making judgement calls on whether or not a hit they took was a ricochet. If you aren't sure if you have been hit, you've been hit.
    1 point
  22. I fondled one at the weekend. They shoot well, though no better than the already excellent MP9. The quality of the plastic is nowhere near the MP9. I don't like the overdone details but the plastic quality (I'm not suggesting it isn't durable) alone is enough to put me off, personally. However, if it gets more GBBR players, I think its definitely a good thing, as long as they don't start breaking too much and they stock spares.
    1 point
  23. Nobody said you are, although I'm sure that's what someone who doesn't call their hits would say 😁 As others have posted, if in doubt just call it. You're only going to be out of the game for as long as it takes to walk to respawn. Just because a shot feels like it doesn't have much power behind it or comes from an unexpected angle doesn't mean it's a ricochet. A sniper or sneaky player could've gotten into a position where they can put fire down from another angle and you assuming the shot was a ricochet is almost asking to be shot again, often to a more sensitive bodypart and/or with a longer burst

  24. Welcome back to the madness Not much has changed since 2006, the main things being the VCRA coming into law in 2007 (see threads on the vcra and ukara as I really can't be arsed to go into detail here) and more people are moving to lipo batteries. Chinese companies are still knocking out cheap (not as cheap as in 06 unfortunately) copies of high end guns with varying degrees of quality control Now that's a rare pistol these days

  26. Imho, if someone is hit, irrespective of the power of the hit, & they then start to analyse it in their head for the possibility of avoiding taking the hit, they're nothing more than a cheating cnut. No site should be planting the seed in people's heads "if you think it's a ricochet, you go ahead & ignore it" What next, "if your wearing a plate carrier with fake plates fitted & the bb's only hit you in the plates, keep playing cos your feckin invincible".

  27. More brands seem to be going that way. Vortex are obviously the big ones, but if Vector Optics are also going that way and Wulf scopes seem to be protected under a similar warranty...

  28. If you go for the RIS rail version of the MP9, there's really not that much between them, except for the angled front face (and the Vorsk's slightly too look-at-me detailing with the stock, and detail on the receiver) So yeah, a forward slanting foregrip is going to make a decent difference... there's not much doubt this is the most handsome... If I'm in the market for a compact GBB SMG (and I am), then £200 for a new one has its appeal. The only warning sign is the number that have already popped up for sale in the classifieds. Is that because GBB SMGs are inherently a niche choice, or people are disappointed they can't compete with an AEG assault rifle, or because the Vorsk itself is shit? I'd like to know.

    Stack up Airsoft

It was selling, not buying but I've just sold a load of RIFs there today and it was a good experience. I contacted them via WhatsApp and discussed prices and was happy with the prices agreed. To be honest I was a little concerned that I would get there and have to renegotiate prices on everything over any tiny discrepancy in condition, but this fortunately wasn't the case. The only change in price was a GBBR that turned out not to function properly when tested and I thought it was fair enough that they wouldn't offer me the stated price when it needed work doing to fix it. It took all the hassle out of bulk selling kit and I thought the prices were sensible given they need to maintain a margin to resell things for a profit. I'd definitely recommend them if you want stuff shifting without messing about with private sales.

  30. This is my friend's DIY work, It is similar to the smoke from e-cigarettes and model tanks. It has a buzzer and an orange LED light that can be reused (but I think it could be damaged by throwing it hard). This video about he test it in his house, apparently, it doesn't hurt the wood floor.(LED and smoke generator) The effect is actually quite striking, at least for me. He gave me a DIY flame suppresser with smoke function, similar in principle and parts. To be honest, my English is not very good, so if I say something wrong, please point it out to me f3271f5d360a835786de1c6cef75e601.mp4 6fdf667c083a033e5a927749985a7e3b.mp4 a5590dad115b7d9a2fc39930b4cec4a2.mp4 aaa996ac75f34a98b74b11172d23b3e5.mp4

  31. I think my site has the same rule, to stop people spamming the entrances to buildings with fire to just get ricochet kills, but I just play it safe now and unless it's patently obvious I'll take the hit. In general, I must say coming into airsoft I wasn't prepared for how half your hits would be barely perceptible and easily confused with a falling leaf, drop of rain or a squirrel farting at 25 yards. My first games were just utter confusion, wanting to play by the rules but not wanting to rob myself of precious game time or look like an idiot for calling a hit that was never there. Adopting the 'if in doubt, take the hit' mantra has ironically made the game easier and more enjoyable as I'm no longer wasting precious cognitive capacity worrying about if something was a hit or not. I'm sure I can still do better on this front and no doubt still miss things. Oddly some of my most satisfying moments have been taking a hit I wasn't sure on and then hearing a nearby marshal who had seen it say 'good call'.

  32. My sincere apologies here. In fact, your suspicion is quite right. I was wrong Because I didn't ask my friend how it worked, he said he was designing two different energy systems: electricity and Sparkler, and the video he sent me used the latter as a power source, which I mistook for an electrical system. And I apologize to everyone here for that. I'll send a video when the power system comes out in a while. I'm sorry There will be factory standard procedures by the time it goes into production, which will be much safer.

  33. I took a hit at a Gunman game only to be told on my walk back to respawn that the game hadn't started yet. Must have been something falling from a tree that I felt. Of course no one found it amusing...
    1 point
  34. If in doubt...give a shout👍 So you may have to take a walk to your respawn or dead zone or even take yourself out of play for 5mins. It's not the end of the world. But consider that the sniper who hit you from a distance saw the hit even if it had the impact of a tap on the shoulder. Don't be the one that the marshalls have a quiet word with. 🙂 Regards

  36. That is just measuring the zero load amp draw which doesn't really say anything, there is another guy measuring the amps in actual use and shows that the T238 actually has about same or even higher draw than the Warheads (depending on model), so there is really no efficiency advantage here whatsoever. And the sound is really subjective, to me it sounds like the T238 has more mechanical resistance and a rougher waveform than the Warhead, so to me the Warhead sounds better and quieter and feels like the better built of the two.
    1 point
  37. For amp consumption and sound: HERE Upon watching the video again, the YouTuber noticed that, while very very similar in amp draw, the T238 was much more consistent in draw and sounded better. The good stuff starts at 6 minutes in. On the QC issues, I had a professional tech mention it to me in THIS thread at post #8. If you'd like, I'm happy to ask him more about it, try to get some references.

    TRMR Stolen.

Evening all, unfortunate post… my TRMR was stolen down at Ucap Bunker this evening. S/N 6204 - Purple single shot engraved with J.G just a word of warning to anyone if they see a TRMR up for sale on the classifieds. Photos of when I got it. Obviously will look a lot worse now after 4 years of being thrown around. I know it’s probably long gone now and won’t be returned but no harm in putting the word out.

    TRMR Stolen.

Sorry to see that. I've given up on reuseables due to theft. I had a purple one stolen, just like yours when they first came out. 2 weeks later a couple of rentals showed up with zero of their own kit but they'd got a purple TRMR. Wandered over and it was my serial number. Got that one back. It got stolen again by a rogue marshal, it got returned with apologies by the site owner. It then went missing at another site and never resurfaced. Had another impact last year dissappear and a friend a TRMR. All at different sites.
