  2. Oopsies! Bit of an impulse purchase... Umarex HK416 A5 GBBR. It's my first gas rifle. Let's see if I can get by with 30 rounds instead of 300 in a mag ;] I've chucked the sight and grip on there... looks like the sight could come off the riser mount tbh. And I might change for a longer, or angled grip. But I think it does look rather smart, always had a soft spot for the looks of the 416

When the pool re-opens, due to social distancing rules, there will be no water in lanes 1, 3, and 5.

  9. Realistically this applies to everything you sell. The amount of times I've listed something and received ten enquiries in the first hour, practically begging for it. Makes me think I could have asked a bit more! Plus everyone fancies themselves a wheeler dealer these days #wotsyabestprice

  10. Difficult to explain and I've not had anyone else fire it since I've only been back garden plinking. With the gearbox being essentially right next to your head when you cheeky weld, it's naturally going to be pretty damn loud to the user. Suppressor doesn't make much difference as expected. As for how it sounds - not all that mechanical to be honest. Gears are pretty quiet, no crunching or banging. Gearbox seems well shimmed and put together. How she currently sits - well tell a lie, I took the Hex suppressor off and stuck the stock flash hider on to keep the length down.

  11. I agree with this. PDRC'S are rare, very desirable to bullpup lovers and weren't particularly cheap when new. There are no others for sale. Why not try a higher price and see what happens?

  12. TM. I like boring reliability in sports goods. You wouldn't play snooker with a cue that bent, or squash with a racquet that had rotten strings. Why use a pistol that 'sort of' works for airsoft?

  15. 'ello everyone! Just wanted to share my Resident Evil 3 U.B.C.S. / Jill Valentine-inspired airsoft loadout! I got this M4A1 originally as a Specna Arms RRA SA-E01 EDGE, which was then serviced and transformed into what you see now, by Negative Airsoft. We've got slightly upgraded internals, laser-engraved markings, and similar attachments to what was in the PS1 game (red dot sight, a bipod, and a vertical grip). Also, the Sig Sauer P226 E2 by Tokyo Marui was also fitted with the Guarder Enhanced Full Metal Body Kit as well.

  16. No…… Cold weather tigger finger mittens. These consist of: 1) cotton windproof shell with a supple leather palm and wrist adjuster. The back is lined with a thin layer of polyester batting. 2) wool/nylon blend knitted mitten, very similar to the D3a liners They can be worn together of separately and you can slip your trigger finger into theme main glove if it’s especially cold. With the M16 rigger guard flipped down you can operate the trigger. With both layers on operating the selector with your thumb is awkward. Either layer alone it’s okay. Getting a new mag out of a pouch it harder than getting it in the gun. For the UK the only practical uses I can think of for skirmishing are: 1) Ice Station Zebra load out or 2) Games where you may be standing about in the wind. The shells will fit over most thin “tacticool” gloves. They can be dummy corded and removed quickly. Depending where you look they maybe cheaper than the shipping. Certainly cheaper than a modern waterproof shell mitts and fleece liner. The most important factor is you can brew up wearing these. 😉

  17. So had mine a little while now. Had it in bits to see what's what and so here's a few things I've come across. If using the high nub, be very careful when putting the hop wheel back on. Ensure that when you put it on the dotted side (for the clickers) is facing outwards towards to the two shells. If you put the wheel on the wrong way around, it puts a lot of pressure on the bucking, splitting it. Bit annoyed with myself for making a silly mistake there, but let my mistake be your lesson. Secondly, I looked at replacing the barrel for a decent stainless steel one. Stock brass barrel is actually very good, lovely window. But, with the two barrels I had kicking about (Edgi and Davinci), neither were compatible with the hop unit. The outer 'shells' wouldn't click back in to place with anything other than the stock barrel, and so don't fit back in to the outer barrel. Bit disappointing to be honest. The barrels are all the same thickness so I'm guessing it's the cutouts that are slightly different. Regarding the bucking, I put a silicone TNT 60 degree HLR in. Feeds and shoots fine, but power has dropped by about 0.1J, so obviously a bit of an airleak somewhere. Sadly no stock bucking available for spares yet, but I'll try a few more buckings when I get time. Other things to bare in mind - when releasing the hand guard screws, there are two Mlok style nuts on the back end of the bolt. Do not unscrew the bolts fully else the nuts fall off and you have to find them! As to how it shoots? Lovely. Super pleased with it, such a flexible platform. Shame the battery compartment isn't bigger, but I'm probably going to route a cable through the upper receiver and run an external Titan in a PEQ box I think. Not really a fan of Lipos...

  18. Ok got a pair of each in (on!) my hands... my initial observations are: Both pairs seem to be really well made and look goooooood, so much more impressive than the cheap Chinese ones I'd bought on-site. The Fast Fits feel noticeably thinner and lighter, and therefore indeed more flexible. They still substantial enough to reduce the pain from impact though. The M-Pacts have really impressive protection across the back of the hand, and right down to the ends of each finger (trigger fingers excepted... It'll be just my luck to get a bad hit on my left hand's index finger!) I got the right size (Large) and both fit the same, but each has a tiny annoyance... Both pairs have a seam inside the end of each finger that's quite pronounced, so hitting those seams with the fingertips (especially the trigger finger) is the dominant sensation. It's a stronger sensation in the Fast Fits, surprisingly. The M-Pacts have an extra layer of wear-protection leather on the palm but this bunches-up when gripping, so there's less direct contact from hand to the gun - a little less feel in that part of the grip. That's probably not very important tbqh. Both those annoyances will probably ease after some wear out in the field, or a turn through the washing machine, as the fabric breaks-in. £45 got me two very good pairs of gloves, that will probably last me until I give up airsoft, and will cover me for both outdoor and CQB. Thanks all for your valuable input

  23. Hah, too late, my Fast Fits have just arrived. And with the news that the Special Ops new CQB site - currently referred to as "The Barn" - is going ahead. maybe I should swap 'em for the M-Pacts. I did at least get the right size. Unlike the British Army "crap hat" that I just got off eBay. Turns out measuring your own head must be harder than it looks, I think I was out by 2cm too big. My head isn't quite as huge as I thought, just still a bit square

I was doing some biological research on ants and discovered you can tell the sex of an ant by dropping it into a jug of water. If it sinks: girl ant. If it floats: boy ant.

    Joining a Team?

A fair few years back, a bunch of regular players and myself at a local site kinda coalesced into a proto-team. Though we by no means took ourselves seriously, we'd play at various sites and had matching gear. Some of the others then started to take it a lot more seriously and ended up with some other guys and formed Cobalt. Never appealed to me trying that hard at something I do to let off steam every fortnight or so.
