Make it a patch. In fact, new rule - all HPA users must wear Ghostbusters cosplay. It's basically ALICE webbing and grey coveralls so that's easy and they already have the proton pack.4 points

Haha. Just an observation on my part. Sometimes a photo is taken from a certain perspective and it can contain a element that takes on a different role. It looked to me that the suppressor was attached to the helmet forming a handle. Just my warped soh.😉 The loadout looks great though👍 Regards3 points

I sold 6 recently for about 35 a piece, but mine were tan, had been painted and while they looked worn from the paint job were in good condition internally and had been well looked after. They were getting £50 a mag for a while but that was before epms were available and I understand converting real pmag shells with epm internals is quite easy. When it was £50 a mag epms didn't exist and getting standard 82 rounder internals into a real pmag shell was a pain, not to mention the pmags were the only way of getting 120 rounds in a mid cap. As such I think the market for them has reduced add in that all of the pmags are all used, potentially quite well used (to the point the chance of them being on their last legs is higher). I think youre probably looking at around the £40 a mag, but I'd be tempted to start at £45 a mag with the expectation you might have to drop. The ranger plates for them, no idea. Dust covers in my opinion don't add any additional value.2 points -
Updated my ww1 uniform end of last month. Using information supplied to me by my local museum, I have made and added unit identifier patches to signify A company, 7th service battalion Northamptonshire regiment of the 24th infantry division, to make the uniform look less plain, though I may need to trim the yellow saltire down a little.. I even have a pair of original brass "Northapton" shoulder titles on the shoulder tabs and an original Northamptonshire regiment cap badge on my cap (though it may need relocating slightly to sit flush on my cap) 1908 webbing needs minor adjustments to fit better, and I have had to make a concession and add a 37 pattern webley holster so I can carry a sidearm, as my Lee enfield has been upgraded and now has a MED.2 points

Couple more of my matching(ish) pairs. First up is my Samson B-TM with a Ruger MK4 style AAP. And then a recent one that I think is finished now, a G&P WA system Semi only SR15 and Airsoft Masterpiece Infinity 2011. The SR15 handles beautifully and the old school roller bolt makes a glorious noise! Yes, I’m aware it’s got a MP5 mag in it… necessary evil for us Sodastream Ghostbuster players2 points -

Book one The Horlicks of Bathtime Fountain To play you will need: 2 x 6 sided dice 1 x pencil 1 x paper note pad and Your imagination. Turn to page 1 Page 1 Your character. Choose one. The Milsimer You know the NSN number of all your kit. You have friends, they exist inside you head but at least they talk to you. Most likely to say “But that’s not tactically sound”. Your pew pew goes Bang. The Speedster You can outrun a speeding bb. Or a least you think you can. You had a friend once but they couldn’t keep up. Most likely to say “Yeet” or “I need more RPS”. Your pew pew goes Zzippppppp! The Sneaky Bastard You are so stealthy that you didn’t even sign in to the site. You don’t need friends just targets. Most likely to say, nothing silence speaks volumes. Your pew pew goes “ppssst” The DIY tech You fixed your friends RIF to make it better. May have been best to ask first however. Most likely to say “It was okay when I had it” Your pew pew goes “bap whizz clunk” Make a note of which character you are and then roll 2 x 6 sided dice. Then ignore this number and go to page 2.1 point -

Due to a philosophical debate with my wife (which I won) I had the opportunity to sleep in the shed last night. I used the time to think about gear as it’s more important than emotional intelligence. Darn it! We nearly blended in. The US military ECWCS - Extended Cold Weather Clothing System. There is a new acronym that involves “warfighter” for the kiddies as well. The system comes in various generations, currently 1-3. There are material and component changes along the way but Gen 1 and 2 stuff is typically Woodland with Gen 3 in UCP and OCP. Wiki ECWCS page I am going to start with the most important bit, the Modular Sleep System.1 point -

Oh, here's something still available: Hordes of the Things. It's a super-generic, very abstract system for any sort of fantasy army battles that you don't want to take too seriously. It uses units rather than individual figures, so essentially you cut out some rectangular bases and then do anything you want with them: stick miniatures onto them, or print out flat or stand-up pictures, or just scribble "Giant atomic tree-squid" onto a Behemoth base, then get on with playing. You can use it for anything you can imagine: a Shooter unit could be elven archers or Thark radium-gunners[*], they operate exactly the same either way. The rules are pretty simple, and it's designed to be played on small tables. There's some emergent complexities too that you'll spot after you've played a few times - and you can play pretty quickly. [*] Here's someone using it with 40K 15mm minis. That's like 200% heresy!1 point -

Been following @Venture_Surplus on IG for a while now and took inspiration from his Eagle Industries Warbelt posts. I’ve only ever seen them set up as shooters belts / battle belts with minimal pouches before. I’ve gone for something a Lay-out which would be more familiar to PLCE / The custom sets from Dragon supplies etc. From left to right: EI Frag Pouch ( might replace this one with a smoke pouch in future) Quad magazine pouch with USMC dump pouch attached to the bottom row of molle on the back of the pouch. Rolls up neatly underneath it and seems like it will work. a blank molle row to receive a replica OKC-3S bayonet which is en route. 1QT canteen pouch MBITR pouch M60 pouch for us as a general utility pouch. 1QT canteen pouch two double magazine pouches EI Frag pouch.1 point -
Going rate seemed/seems to be around £40 for a mag, plus £5 for a magpul, and £2-3 for a dust cover. So £50 all in seems reasonable, maybe 45 for a bulk sale? But like you said they are getting rare nowadays, I haven't seen any for sale in a while.1 point

Yes they were liked but not so much in the field by infantry. They did get a bit of a reputation as garrison wear because as made they weren’t waterproof and relatively noisy. There are publicly disclosed letters between Natick, WL Gore and a unit Commander (can’t remember which). The troops expected a waterproof layer, but Natick’s view was it’s to keep you warm. As gore-tex goes they are incredible robust. Relatively undergrowth resistant and many parkas have survived despite working in the motor pool. I’ve like them but unlikely to really use them in extremis. It was in the mountains these days I go for something that weighs less! Another “test” run of the MSS patrol bag and bivi. Over night temp was about 4c and a little bit of breeze. Set up was the same. I did start off with the gen 1 ECWCS insulation layers to see how much different they made. Flipping sweating within minutes. So had to strip done to the base layer. About 4am I put the M65 liner pants back on. Having the other components in the bag probably kept it a bit warmer too. Slept like a log until 9am… ECWCS insulation components: Natick development photo and then my larp version. 😁 Layers are all the same size and are design to stack. If you are going to wear two M65 field jacket liners then you may need to go up a size on the parka. 1) Polypro underwear, warm and relatively thick. Like a thin fleece rather than a modern base layer. The boots are designed to provide a lot of the foot protection so another layer of socks may be useful for sleeping in. 2) Fibre pile “brown bear” jacket & bib. Black reinforcements and chest pockets. Not as windproof or neat as modern faced fleece. Warm though. The black SPEAR style fleece superseded this the later generations of ECWCS are more like that. Chest pockets on it are useful however. 3) M65 field jacket and pants liner go over the fibre pile. I’m not wearing the jacket liner. These are constructed like the usgi poncho liner. Loose cut with high leg, the dedicated ECWCS versions have buttons outside legs to put on over big boots and the jacket has chest buttons. They are very smooth so make decent sleep wear. The pants ideally need braces (M1950) as they have no waist support if worn alone.1 point -

Finally got a holster and a shit load of CO2 for my Shadow 2 that I got in November so I can skirmish it tomorrow for the first time. I haven't ran a sidearm yet, so excited to finally put it to use. Some say you never need them... But at my local indoor CQB site there are several extremely tight stairwells with corners at the top/bottom where my 14" Barrel just won't go around and I have to drop the business end meaning there have been numerous times I just cant get a shot on someone. Lost count the amount of times I couldn't engage on said stairwells and had to shamefully walk back to respawn. Now I have been dealt an equal hand 😁1 point

"Downed Airman" Vietnam kit is just about done - close enough to share at least. I still need a faithful shotshell pouch and due to the EPM-1S mags being taller than standard 20 rounders I need to either get 30 round mag pouches or general small arms mag pouches - still undecided on those. Also waiting for helmet parts to arrive - some missing bolts, fresh straps and foam, etc but none of that is visible so itll look the same as it does now. Ill actually play with it with the visor up and proper eyepro instead, but for pics visor down is Ace.1 point -

talisman is a great game. if you want something that has an easier jump from traditional board games have a look for hero quest, its original form is great and i thinnk its just been reissued via a kick starter. another option, a game i always seem to find way back to, blood bowl. it has had numerous table top versions and digital copies. its a fantasy sport based brawler based around minitures forming teams which develop as you play.1 point -

Most skirmish games tend to be pretty rule heavy, especially when it comes to individual units. You could try him with Star Saga. Boardagem Geek users rate it as a 2.78 out of 5 for complexity. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/209696/star-saga It's a cross between a board game and a skirmish game, with the added bonus that you can even play it solo, or with up to 5 people. I have it and enjoy it as a simple, quick game, but then I am very nerdy about tabletop games, so what is simple to me may not be for him? The rules are pretty straightforward, for a skirmish game, and it comes with an array of good miniatures and terrain, if he also fancies getting into the painting side of the hobby. There are a bunch of missions you can play, and the tiles that come with it are arranged differently for each mission. And there's nothing to stop you designing your own mission Alternatively browse boardgamegeek, OR, I would suggest seeing if there's a tabletop gaming store near you, and pop in for a chat with the and see if they have any recommendations. Edit: Weekend warriors sounds fun!1 point -

Epic was rightly named, and the best thing was that you could put together an entire army for not much more than one 40K hero mini - which is probably why GW killed it. Doubly so if you played with folk who didn't mind you subbing in whatever else you had to hand. I won a tournament using a 100% cheese force consisting of nothing but spray-painted Marine Scout companies deployed directly onto objectives or into hand-to-hand via toy-shop Micro-Machine helicopters serving as Thunderhawks. One bloke was on the verge of tears as his beautiful Titans and Baneblades went down under a swarm of suicidal stabby scouts, wailing "But all you're doing is swapping your cheap units for my expensive ones!" Member when "elf" and "dwarf" were character classes? I member. Mmm, I'd spotted that WoTC were doing their best to turn fans into foes by killing off the community licensed system. Utterly tragic, given their history with being the David cease-and-desisted by TSR's Goliath, then after the success of MtG buying up most of what was left of TSR, and now becoming the worst of TSR. That said, both of my kids are playing whatever the 2nd-to-most-recent ruleset of D&D is, in separate groups, so there may be some life in it yet even as a gateway. I'm gently suggesting to them that other systems and settings are available.1 point -
