Just been to collect my new toy from parcelfarce... FCW Striker 12 and 12xPPS shells. Quick fiddling around with it all has revealed 3 duff shells... 2 with loose fitting base plates allowing the shell to fall forward and jam the drum, and one needing the BB retaining cap and new o ring glueing onto the body... Also eyeing up a replacement barrel (without inner barrel) so I can use APS shells Ps. Excuse the DVD player remote in second pic.. needed something to stop the gun rolling over on its drum so I could take a half decent pic2 points -

I think i did a thing......DYE and FAST

Hi Guys, After mulling over the eye pro, face mask, helmet, hat dilema, I think I did a thing..... I removed all the interior and the straps of the Nuprol FAST helmet, swapped a few screws around so they didn't scratch the DYE lens and put the DYE strap around the back of the helmet, and it all seems to work and stay in place by only using the adjuster on the back of the helmet - no chin strap required. Not committed to cutting off the straps yet. Looks pretty stealthy to me... Pat.1 point -
The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
This morning I wandered off to Tower Airsoft in Essex, which is one of my regular sites. It is a small site with some good structures including a castle, a church, a village and a bridge. It also seems to attract a good type of player. Their game days are run very well by Miguel, who some may know from CAMO, a shop and CQB site on Canvey Island (home of the magnificent Dr. Feelgood). I have been there when there were 100+ people, although the usual attendance is about 40 to 50. On this cold morning, with a pretty grim weather forecast, 20 people turned up. It really was cold and I was very pleased to have my French army heavyweight fleece for the pre-game time in the morning; it is the warmest item of clothing that I have ever owned. Despite, or maybe because of, the lack of numbers, it was a very good day. The games were well adapted to the low number of players and ran well, with good play from both sides. Alongside "normal" airsoft games, there was a fun game of armed American Football, using the bus windows as goals. Trying to score a field goal proved to be a somewhat perilous activity. Perhaps it will catch on as a new sport. Guns used: LCT PP-19-01 "Is than an MP5?" 🤬 APS UAR, with King Arms AK style M4 mags, just to make it look even weirder. 😈 Milbro Classic CO2 M1911.1 point -

Picked up one of these bad boys. A Cybergun Famas F1 Evo. Not had a chance to play with it yet, but so far it seems to be pretty good. It haa a basic mosfet and you can adjust the FPS with the supplied Allen key without having to open up the gun. I have managed to get shooting between 330 and 365 fps which is great.1 point -

I'm after a rail converter that slides on to picatinny but has NATO dovetail on top. edit - cancel that 😂 I went through quite a few pages of google, thought they didn't exist then found one on eBay. Decided to sell my trusty G&P Troy Vltor only because I’m getting funds to purchase a shell ejecting Shotty. I’ve had it a long time, I bought it used originally, it’s battle worn which is what I love about it. Nothing broken, functions great, is full metal and good weight. I have the original G&P mag but it’s old now so I will include a trademarked HK metal mid cap. Stock is not the original but believe everything else is on the RIF like the Noveske muzzle and trade flip up sights etc. Tested this morning on chrono and it’s a healthy 330fps on 0.2g on 7.4 lipo ( deans ) Plenty of info on the internet about these so just Google for the specs….. Price includes postage and PayPal fees all in. Postage via Evri tracked service. Thanks£170

Here is a shot of it now that I've finished the respray. When I got it the upper body was made of that two tone blue plastic, rather than being a black one with a retailer spray job. Mag and lower reciever are the original black finish from the factory. I'm very happy with the match. I also opened up the mag and sprayed the fake rounds to look more realistic. The M4 stock is on a 3D printed adaptor and it still folds flat against the body when stowed. The lower rail section under the forend was missing and the bolt holes were partially stripped so I sourced a new bit of rail section and some more bolts. It's now permanently attached, as the best way of attaching the new section was to JB weld the bolts into the rail section and then more JB weld to fix the bolts into the holes. It looks proper and it's plenty strong enough to be used for attachments. Over all I'm happy with the way it's turned out. Pre-covid and the shipping crisis, I would like to have picked up a metal outer barrel for it and fitted a suppressor and a longer inner barrel, but those are like rocking-horse poo these days so it will have to go without. It's nicely shimmed and lubed internally. Chronos about 330fps on 0.2g BBs I would say vinyl dye and a matt lacquer top coat is a success.1 point

LOL, I know what you mean, I had to scroll to the top to check what we're actually discussing, but I'll be grumpily honest & admit I'm so feckin tired of spoon feeding noobs answers to the same questions that have been asked a thousand times before, made worse by wannabe trolls that say shite like "if the plod come round, make an official complaint about wasting time" etc. There's a core of members here, you & I included, that literally have hundreds of years of combined experience within Airsoft, add to that our own personal life experiences & skill sets in numerous professional fields, & I'll bet that not one of us has fallen foul of the law due to how we use/behave/own our Airsoft rifs. Why. Because we've been sensible, applied common sense & been aware of the massive responsibilities of "gun" ownership. Yet we're still having to spell it out to new members ffs.1 point -

UK law on shooting a RIF in a garden
Baptimus_Prime reacted to Tackle for a topic
I'm not even sure why we're still entertaining this thread, yes there are laws pertaining to rif use that any of us could easily fall foul of, but every thread that's EVER discussed anything along these lines have all come to the same conclusions : IF YOU WAVE A RIF AROUND ANYWHERE THAT MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC CAN SEE YOU, YOU WILL GET A VISIT FROM THE POLICE. Now irrespective of anyone here's knowledge of the laws, taking the moral high ground because "According to laws XYZ its OK to do this, so it's my right" is bollocks, the plod are obligated to investigate every call they receive regarding potential firearms, even when your in your own back garden or on private land, & there isn't a court in the land that will support you versus the police when in comes to them doing their duties in this matter, whether its them telling you to "don't be a cnut, use some common sense", or the other end of the sliding scale, them shooting you dead. Even if the attending officers are very knowledgeable about Airsoft & are polite when discussing it with you, respond with a smart mouth & you'll find yourself nicked for "causing distress" or public order offences, & your kit grabbed for "assessment", & don't expect to get it back anytime soon. Back on track, if you want to fiddle with your guns in your back garden, let any overlooking neighbours know that their harmless but realistic toys & explain your hobby, maybe even print something out explaining it in more detail, get them on board & understanding. If if you do fire your toys in your garden, set up an appropriate range with a decent backstop to keep any stray bb's within your property boundaries. USE SOME COMMON SENSE ? 😏1 point -

I have a challenge to all those saying rifs don't count as firearms under the highways act. Take your favourite rif, wave it around on a motorway bridge and see what happens1 point -
RIFs aren’t toys under a certain power, it’s airsoft guns (RIFs/IFs that are exempted from other firearms legislation under amendments in the Policing and crime act. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2017/3/part/6/crossheading/firearms/enacted (5)After section 57 insert— “57AException for airsoft guns (1)An “airsoft gun” is not to be regarded as a firearm for the purposes of this Act. (2)An “airsoft gun” is a barrelled weapon of any description which— (a)is designed to discharge only a small plastic missile (whether or not it is also capable of discharging any other kind of missile), and (b)is not capable of discharging a missile (of any kind) with kinetic energy at the muzzle of the weapon that exceeds the permitted level. (3)“Small plastic missile” means a missile that— (a)is made wholly or partly from plastics, (b)is spherical, and (c)does not exceed 8 millimetres in diameter. (4)The permitted kinetic energy level is— (a)in the case of a weapon which is capable of discharging two or more missiles successively without repeated pressure on the trigger, 1.3 joules; (b)in any other case, 2.5 joules.”1 point

Not sure if this will help anyone as it is a old thread. this “issue” is not unique to umarex/VFC GLOCKS, in fact it can happens on any GBB that has a similar rocket valve system. what happens is when a bb is in the chamber, the back pressure from the BB is pushing back the rocket valve too much that it won’t cycle the slide enough the load the next round, and when the hop is empty, there is no back pressure, it will cycle properly and load the next round. That’s why it only fires every other round. so the solution is to release more gas to create enough pressure to cycle the slide and overcome the back pressure. 1. Stronger gas 2. stronger hammer spring 3. trim the rocket valve spring coil by coil. 4. My personal favorite, unscrew the release valve on your mag to just before it starts leaking. and on umarex Glocks, what you can do is just use WE mag( but with TM or VFC gas router). or use WE release valve on the original mag. hope this helps someone.1 point
