    Willpower, am I weak ?

Bit of background, so in all the years I've been playing, my load carrying kit has always been either solid black or OD, & in both colours I still own numerous rigs & probably 100+ pouches of various brands & styles, I could probably kit out a section with ease. I also own numerous full clothing loadouts, dpm, m81 woodland, OD, black, flecktarn desert, vegetato/tata lol, multicam/mtp, probably more, & have also previously owned flecktarn, wusentarn, choc chop & probably others I've forgotten. Now multicam/mtp I've never been that keen on, only ever bought it initially in 2010 for themed games where camo was used for designating teams, & I've probably only worn it 3 times. But here's the point I've been getting to....... Over on Zin I saw a warrior nemesis rig in mtp come up for £35, I do like warrior kit so I found myself googling a review for the rig & my first click found me directed back here to a necropost from 2014, thanks @TheFull9, & I'm like "Hhmmmmm, that looks good", but then a moment later I'm like "but i rarely wear mtp, & besides, I've got too much shit" So I scroll on 5 minutes later "yeah but it's warrior & they do make nice kit" But then the other voice is like "ffs Mark, you dont wear that camo & you don't need any more feckin kit" & I'm like "yeah but no but" 🤯 Am I the only one ? 🤔 (even looks like me lol)

  7. I strongly recommend Revision Sawfly glasses with their own prescription inserts. I have used them for a few years now, along with either Cat Crap or Absolutely Clear anti fog, although the Revision wipes are good as well. If you go for the Sawflys, use the MAX lenses to give your eyes extra flank protection. They will stop a shotgun blast, so at least your eyes will survive as the rest of your head disintegrates!

    Willpower, am I weak ?

I've found that no matter what I wear I still can't hide. I put it down to the big flashing arrow that follows me around above my head saying "Hit Here!" The least amount of damage I sustained was going directly to a game after work wearing plaster encrusted trousers and t-shirt? I'll stick with my viper kit though. I think it's amazing for price 👍

  9. Happens from time to time, for the most part I'll only bite if its something that's hard to get hold of in this country (be that because it's no longer produced full stop, or just something you have to order from overseas). I have a list of stuff that I'm after and if it isn't on the list it doesn't get bought, unless I'm confident I could sell it on for what I paid should buyers remorse kick in. In the past I've definitely fallen into the 'that's a really good deal, and I don't want someone else to have it' trap. Very much the FOMO brand of shit willpower. Over time I've realised that the moment I'm consciously trying to justify a purchase to just leave it.

We Glock 17 mag, uses the CO2 bulb. Bought from a mate before realising I have the mos Glock and need a different router and I can't be bothered to sort. He said it was leak free, I haven't put a fresh bulb in to test. CO2 mags (I'm finding) always bloody leak at some point so buy assuming if it doesn't leak now, it will at some point (CO2 curse on the rubber). He has used a few times based on the wear on the paint. Price is £17 delivered Any questions please ask.

  16. honestly yes 30m is bad 50ish meters should out the box performance. however there is no point doing anything until you have actually used it. when you get it clean the barrel. get several different strengths of gas(temp will effect performance) get a crono, a couple different weights of bb and set the gun at an actual measured range and see which gas/bb combo gets you the best performance at sub legal power limit
    1 point
  17. I'd get it and try it first before worrying about changing anything. Give the inner barrel a good clean before using it . Use a decent weight of BB (I use .30's in my GBBRs) put a few mags through it to start bedding in and set the hop and see how it does.

  18. It can be very subtle, takes just a fraction of a mm to do it but this sounds like textbook clanging on the way out. If its well aligned and not clipping it wont unduly affect accuracy.

  20. is the suppressor screwing on straight. if its misaligned that would cause random flyers. also worth checking that the exit hole in the suppressor is large enough and actually in line with the barrel. i can't imagine that that there is an air vortex issue as the BB is ahead of the pressurised air.

  21. First time back to Rift Comms Site 3 since about a year. Day was overall okay. The site needs quite a bit of balancing ever since the HS2 has changed the site. They have always struggled placing one of the spawns. Its always one team gets to the middle of the site and takes control of the main buildings quicker as they don't have to run as far, whilst the others have to try and push up to them in areas with naff all cover. It's also further to go back to the respawn and no medic rule really makes people play more slow and less likely to try stuff. I also think the amount of snipers there is getting out of control. We counted about 20 snipers on each team but could easily be more and it just makes the gameplay much slower as the snipers just like to sit back and chill instead of helping with the push. Few individuals were up to their cheating antics with blind firing and not calling their hits but overall wasn't "too" bad. Overall I think Comms Site 3 is lacking something at the moment that it used to have. It seems to have lost a bit of its charm. Could be fixed pretty easily by balancing the spawn distances. I would also like to see somewhat of a cap on snipers but I understand that it is probably bad for the site income and regulars of the site.

  22. Does it bring you joy? Will it bankrupt you? After my larp soft event I really wanted to start a full Pathfinder Para 2 load out - but the accompanying thought was "yeah, but how many times will you actually use it?" As such the whole loadout went to the dream list. But I have just been gifted a arktus para style chest rig and I found a dpm holster.....now I am looking at suitable maron berets..... It's ok, it's not just you

  23. Loving the shooters belt from Deadly Customs! Got a lot of recommendations from the forum members here and went ahead with this option a few months ago. The holster and pouches are for my Glock but too lazy to get it out of storage for pics - so just shoved a 1911 in (and it fits!) Really wanted to go all grey on the magazine pouches but they seemed pretty hard to get so had to substitute the Kywi for black. I saw some competition shooters in the US use Kywi's up front, and pouches with a bit of an angle towards the rear, so tried to copy that setup. Clockwise - DC universal Glock holster (QLS), DC dump pouch, DC shooter's double stack pouch, Kywi double stack pouch

  26. Sorry. Man.. the Nemesis was ridiculously good. I think they've long stopped making it which is bonkers because for the money that's honestly a high contender for the best value bit of kit anyone could ever get and it's just the ideal size for skirmishing. Makes the garand thumb chest rig people jizz their pants over look a bit shit to be honest. For me, when this comes up (which is obviously not uncommon in online discussions) it's not actually about airsoft or kit or whatever, the question is a bigger one. If I had kids and a mortgage and bought everything I do then I'd have 0 savings and probably a good bit of debt, and getting debt for tacticool stuff is most definitely stupid. But that's not the case, I've saved and invested more than I've spent on this malarkey. Never having any savings and waiting for every pay cheque to come in to then immediately splurge on something you've been eyeing the past 3 weeks since last being paid is an almost sure fire sign you're shit with your money - speaking generally. Like the financial version of a dog on a leash just absolutely frothing to go chase a rabbit it won't even catch. I do a very, very similar thing to alxndr, I've got a word doc list I started around 2006 or so where I type in both everything I have bought and the things I'm planning on getting. Apart from anything I do do quite ambitious builds sometimes and I need to note it all down or I'd forget which parts are compatible with what etc. But as above, if it's not 'in the plan' I don't generally just buy stuff on a whim that I happen to come across and the aforementioned plan is very long term. I check the New Products pages at many big retailers frequently, but unless something crops up out of the blue that I've been really wanting for many years (usually 3-4+) then it's not going in the basket if it's not planned.

  34. Just got home from a great private game at UCAP tunnels in Portsmouth. I took my 1.1J spring VSR with me, much to basically everyone's confusion as the tunnels are very CQB, as well as the mp9 and the mk23, one on each hip, as the ammo weight limit was .28s at most and they are some of my guns that can use .28s and not overhop as I typically play woodland and build for .32s. We were encouraged to bring LARP weapons, as only LARP weapons could kill the juggernauts that would be coming out, plus it's a bit of silly fun swatting each other with foam hammers and the like, so I packed my rubber knife too. Through the morning I made my presence very known and just held corridors. I would find a nice pitch black spot and just hold down the corridor in front of me, preventing the other team advancing down the tunnel I was watching. Was it the most practical gun? Hell no, but I was doing it as a partial joke as everyone knows me at Worthing Airsoft as a sniper and it did have it's uses; it wasn't entirely useless as some of those corridors are very long and having a gun built for range, accuracy and silence turned out to be quite the boon to our team. We were getting hammered in the morning, but I was at least holding down one of a potential 5 or so avenues of attack for them which was all I wanted to do and the best way for me to contribute. I don't really do CQB and I'm a 6'5 weight lifter; those tunnels are not built for me 😂 However, after lunch I had to change tactics. The other team had a juggernaut and constantly used him to push into our base to steal an objective we managed to recover nice and early, so I couldn't use the bolt action to hold corridors because the juggernaut was just coming down with a minigun and enemy players using him as cover. We held them off for a long time though, considering they were being escorted by a juggernaut and managed to hold onto the objective for an hour or so. I managed to learn by being a sneaky sniper eavesdropping from the shadows that only one person on their team could move the objective, so I started targeting her, waiting for the juggernaut to pass as I hid away and then ambushing the players who could be shot. The mk23 and mp9 really showed their worth, taking shots from concealment with the mk23, but pulling the mp9 as soon as I needed a bit of a snappier gun. Even managed to get a melee kill on the juggernaut (the only way to kill them), hiding in a dark room as he came down the corridor and quietly stabbing with the rubber knife as he walked past. We managed to pull out a win at the end of the day when my friend decided to go out with only a melee weapon. He crept around the entire enemy team and cleared them out with melee kills, allowing the rest of our team to push up and detonate the bomb. In the meantime, another team made not one, but two raids on the enemy base and stole all their objectives. After receiving a bit of a hiding for most of the day, we managed to pull out a sizeable win in the final moments which was nice My main gripe was the ammo limit, but otherwise the rules were great and made the game super fun. The ammo limit was 600 BBs per life, which in the tunnels basically just meant a lot of trigger spam down corridors; I probably would've done 300 (which was what we had at the last private game we played there) just so it wasn't quite so spammy. All in all I had a really good day, even though it was very much not my type of game. Helped that this time our respawn was the other side of the site to where my team spawned in the last private game we ran there, so I got to experience the other side. Just going to say, and any of the UCAP bunker regulars will know what I mean, but the toilet block is such a great place to ambush from! I was moving through there with the mk23 causing absolute havoc on the enemy team as they tried pushing into our base. Next time, I'll bring something a little more practical. I'll bring my SR-25 or my m21 instead so I at least have semi-auto instead of a bolt action

  37. As an owner of the MBR 308 SR and the SBR mk II. Like you I got the MBR (my first) because I liked the look of it then got the SBR because I wanted a shorter rif for cqb and thought why not ad i can use the same mags. So far not had a problem with my mosfets in either though I have since upgraded my MBR into a DMR with a perun mosfet. Did that after got my SBR so use SBR as main and when I want a little more power and range I use the MBR, plus i now have a spare G&G mosfet if it does go. I would say just go for it, if its what you like the look of you wont regret it. It shoots well out the box and i do love my 3 round burst. Single and 3 is my default settings, my mid caps at first would jam if fully loaded at first but once spring had bedded in not a problem. Would say at first leave fill them most of way to bed in then fully load them. Saying that the low caps never been a problem and have a single high cap which is never been a problem either. Im still enjoying them both still oh and the acetech lighter (I have BT version) tracer unit looks awsome on it too.

I finished this Umarex Buntline yesterday, after being a little underwhelmed with a KTW Winchester and acquiring a stock cheaply. Turns out the stock is from a Colt SAA 2nd generation, what they put with the actual branded buntlines in 1957. Barrel made from aluminium with brass internally, and a tanaka ejector. Assembles and disassembles as it was designed. Shooting at 0.9 joules and hops 0.32s on a flat trajectory at 40m, the limit of my garden. Probably a realistic 55m but the bbs will be travelling pretty slowly by then. Hammer mod to make the hammer sit more flush with the frame. Bottom one is also hopped but for 0.25s.

I'm also thinking it needs a suppressor sleeve and maybe some scrim net. The suppressor and weighted piston with air break piston head should make it whisper quiet. Edit. Just installed the fluted outer barrel. Looks badass

  50. Very similar photos from entirely different games, kit is identical if memory serves correctly outside of the RMR moving slightly (it’s now completely gone, we’ll call that a failed experiment). Since adding the Trex arms dump pouch to my belt (have not been a fan of previous belt mounted options, but the addition of the thigh strap has been a big win) the TED on the plate carrier has fallen out of favour. Likely be swapping that back over the trusty mini dangler for the next few games having been getting a lot of mileage out of the one on my chest rig every time I use it. Also the first time I’ve worn a UBACS in about 8 years for no other reason than I’ve been too self conscious, suffice to say they’re very good at what they’re supposed to be good at.
