Here we have the evolution of my cheapie JG RPK bought off here from Hutt armouries few years ago. Iv had fun learning how to take this all part and work on it modernising it along the way. originally I was just going to replace the externals but straight away I could tell I’d need to upgrade the hop unit as the range was awful. things Iv replaced are JG Stock adaptor, LCT stock, CA upper and RS poly lower hand guard, pistol grip, LCT tactical selector, LCT drum magazine, TWI aluminium rails, combat union hop unit mapleaf macaron 50’ omega nub, CU air nozzle. I’ll upgrade the gearbox internals as and when they go. currently chrono’s 348-351 on 0.2s Lovely MG platform, lighter and more manoeuvrable than a belt fed.3 points -

Welcome! Went to the snowdome in Tamworth a few times but that's all I can help with in terms of your area. Plenty of knowledgeable and friendly people here, you'll hopefully find the peeps at your local site are equally as friendly - go as a rental but play fair and you'll soon earn some respect as a player rather than a member of a stag do. Oh, definitely rent for a bit as it helps in so many ways - a) to make sure you actually like it, b) to sort your UKARA out and c) it stops you impulse buying a two-tone Ares and then regretting it. While I'm on, best get a plug in for @GAMBLE's YT channel 👍2 points

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Tactical Pith Helmet and one other reacted to AirSniper for a topic
Great game on Sunday. My lad got to take his AAP01 out for its first game. Halfway through the day I was moved to the other team to balance out when someone left. So I was on two sides of winning teams. The usual Zombies game to warm up, got shot in the ass. Then the obligatory TDM which we lost (when I was on other team) Capture the Flag which I amazingly got the only two flags for our team (after team rebalancing) the other team members got the flag but got taken down in a hale of BB's as the other team had set themselves up in good positions to defend their captures. Cash grab which we smashed (my fave game of all). Only thing I am pissed over is the camera didn't record the first game of TDM in which I flanked the other team and took out 4 players by total surprise. Fist bumps all round on that one. My son brought a friend who loved the game. All I could hear on the way back was them chattering about the game and airsoft guns and stuff. Mission accomplished IMHO.2 points -
Looking for a gun tech in New Forest area
Rogerborg and one other reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
None that I know of (I'm in Christchurch, so the forest is only 5mins away for me) - but if you join the Facebook group Dorset Airsoft Community - there's a couple of Techs on there. It also depends on which side of the Forest you live - If it's the Southampton end you might be able to find a tech or shop that can do it in Hampshire. What are you looking to 'upgrade'? Some things such as hop rubber/units/barrels are simple to do yourself, motors are relatively straightforward - depending on the Specna model (Edge grips don't like aftermarket motors much).2 points -

Just an update on my experience with the angry gun mpa nozzle for the m4. I started having problems while skirmishing with it. Although the fps is stable, it started sticking in the bolt carrier. I replaced the oring at the rear of the nozzle which helped. However I started getting problems with the nozzle coming out of the front of the bolt carrier. It seems that it is slightly off spec ie smaller than the oem, which seemed to wear the side nozzle guide somehow, resulting in the guide popping out and due to the smaller size, the nozzle would run past the upper guide and jam in the receiver. This has happened one time too many. I have now reverted to the Ra tech magnetic npas with PLASTIC nozzle and this seems to be working absolutely as advertised. I have also replaced the guides in the rif In question with the steel Ra tech parts from Milspec Solutions. My other m4 is running fine with oem nozzle and white lfs disc. Disappointingly the angry gun mpa nozzle just seems to be off spec so i would now after about six months of use and issues chin it off. Though I will keep the return spring for spares.2 points

Strongarm Airsoft (Kent)
Spartan873 reacted to Jez_Armstrong for a topic
Good sunny Sunday to everyone I've opened my workshop back up and I'm taking in repairs again I would like to add that I do have a full time job and that any work taken on will be done in the evenings because of this I would just like to keep my work to repairs of broken guns to get guns back to working order so people can play, taking on bigger projects like DMR conversions or high speed builds won't be my preference, not that I can't do them but I'm not able to range test at my current location I can work on the majority of AEG's I do mainly specialise in M4's, MP5's G3's or anything H&K but I've probably been inside 95% of airsoft guns I'm based in Tunbridge wells in Kent so drop off for Kent players is fine, guns can be posted to me but customers must cover the cost of delivering each way I have most spares in my workshop to get a gun back to life but if you wish to supply new parts just make sure they are compatible My prices are very reasonable as this isn't my main income it's something to keep me busy and to make use of my workshop again so I charge £35 for a full aeg service which includes a full strip down and clean and re-grease, reshim and checking all components for wear, cleaning barrels, re-wiring if necessary Feel free to message me here or drop me a message on my Facebook page (although sometimes I don't always get the notifications 🤔) [email protected] Or Facebook.com/strongarmairsoft1 point -

I have to say I think you've overdone the weathering on that sight... too much bare metal. I searched for pics of SUSATs on operational guns... I didn't spot any good 'uns, as they mostly seem to be in good nick. So surprisingly perhaps this one off the wikipedia page shows the most weathering, and it's still an awful lot less shiny than yours...1 point -

I've been running 11.1v Li-Po's and Li-Io's in mine for over a year, and it's been faultless (the same with my DE rifle built to be a DMR, and my sons). There are some on Reddit who really twist the knife into the Falcon controller and its reliability, however I'm betting (based on what I've read) that they've run them ragged on full auto and you really can get the cheap stock Chaoli motor very hot if you're a numpty / newbie and this is also negatively effecting the controller.1 point -
My L119 absolutly hated the mpa nozzle, had all sorts of feeding issues with it. Reverted to stock nozzle and NPAS1 point

Had a really interesting one this weekend. I mostly went to set up all my guns for AI500, as there's a BB weight limit of .28 and I won't be a cheater even though I suspect there will be other people breaking that rule. I set up my HK45 first, as I only had the two pistols with me and I didn't want to use the mk23 (which I was also going to set up for .28s for AI500), but I made the decision to also bring my KJW m700 to test. I wasn't expecting it to be great, as I've never used it and it was the first time I had taken it to the range. I thought it would chrono at 2J+ and then... it didn't. It was 1.5J on green gas and sending .48s into the sky. So I figured, "why not try 144a and see if I can get it under 1.1J? Maybe that'll also stop it sending the .48s into the sky" and as it turned out I was totally right. With the hop basically off and 144a now in the mag, it chronoed at 1J on the money with very low variance on a warm magazine that I kept in my pocket to make sure it didn't creep up in the midday sun. Lowest was 1.005 and highest was 1.009. Furthermore, it was sending the BBs out further than any of my other 1J builds, thanks in part because it was flinging .48s where my other 1J builds tend to be .32s or .4s at most. Was accurately hitting the 60m target with ease, and could even hit the 75m with some rifle tilting, so I decided that the VSR, which I had taken as the gun I was going to use, wouldn't even come out of the bag, all my HPA stuff remaining in the bags with it. Taking it out into the game it was clear it's going to need bedding in. The shots were consistent and accurate enough, but some of the shots would hop more and some would hop less every so often, but I'm not going to take it to the range and feed .48s through it for the sake of bedding it in because .48s are pricey! Managed to fit 3 mags total (2 in the belt, 1 in the gun), so I had a total of 84 shots which I managed to last all morning, going through about half of them. I absolutely loved it and will be using it for the foreseeable future as my main bolt action. Everyone says gas is crap for snipers, but damn this build proves naysayers wrong. No MED, can hit 75m as long as you know how much tilt you need. Also, the rifle wrap I use works amazingly well on it, since the magazine is where it should be and the wrap is designed for real rifles, unlike the VSR where the magazine is further forward than it should be because of how a sprig sniper works. I'm so happy with its performance. I didn't expect too much, because my HPA VSR was my magnum opus of bolt actions, but now it has competition!1 point -
