Scam Sales Posts On Zeroin
Jedi_Master and 4 others reacted to Super64 for a topic
Just a heads up to what appears to be a couple of scam sales posts over on Zeroin. https://forums.zeroin.co.uk/forum/classifieds/rifles-smg-s-for-sale/gas-gbb-rifles-smg-s/3284063-ghk-m4-colt-14-5-new-with-defect https://forums.zeroin.co.uk/forum/classifieds/rifles-smg-s-for-sale/gas-gbb-rifles-smg-s/3284019-ghk-553-tactical Both appear to be genuine old posts that have been hacked by and relisted. Thankfully someone contacted the seller and backed away when bank transfer was discussed. Below is the thread discussing the scam. https://forums.zeroin.co.uk/forum/classifieds/rifles-smg-s-for-sale/gas-gbb-rifles-smg-s/3284066-warning-scam-ghk-553-tactical Just keep an eye out for anything that appears too good a deal, has a dated photo in the American Month/Day/Year format and requesting bank transfer.5 points -
I'm sure the ever proactive admin on Zeroin will do everything he can to ban those accounts and try and prevent this from happening in the future.3 points

New camo - Kreuzotter from Novritch

So a bit of a hybrid between Tiger Stripe & Rhodesian then? I embarrassingly quite like it, can’t stand that twat though1 point -
Just wondering if there's anything that can be done about the spambot that's obsessed with creating new johnnyufafrN+1 accounts, reposting old content, and adding the exact same link to https://electroambientspace.com/how-to-play-slotxo/ every time. It feels like there should be a very-small-shell-script solution to this rather than having to manually clean up multiples of them every day.1 point

Bloc Eyepro
BigBell1987 reacted to Emergencychimps for a topic
Think bloc are quite new to the tactical eye wear world, hence the discount prices (could be wrong). Their sunglasses are a good, affordable option and give a great cost/benefit ratio. Ultimately any "anti fog" that the glasses have will be a layer over the lens itself, when that wears off they'll be just like any other pair. Guess the real question is how long does that layer last? As they're new I doubt anyone knows yet. They seem expensive to me for a non premium brand tactical eye pro option (Vs say Oakley, ess, wiley, revision) with no proven pedigree behind them. Also I find with glasses that the fit of them to your face is super important, having a small gap (small, not too big) in places is needed for airflow which reduces fogging. Buying online doesn't give you the chance to try before you buy and I bet finding bloc tactical locally won't be easy. If you sweat loads, other options are goggles with fans in them (generally home made) or mesh (check out heroshark). People get worried about mesh with the risk of shards of smashed bbs coming through, though I can't recall any cases in 10 years of being on various Airsoft forums and Facebook where the person's eye was actually damaged from shards through mesh, irritated, yes, but not blinded etc.1 point -

Last of the new bits, Spiritus SPUD pouch. Liked the look of them when first announced, initially for popping a 16oz Nalgene in but looks to be really versatile. Could definitely see it getting used for extra mags/speedloaders on longer game days. Certainly not a revolutionary pouch, but well executed as usual.1 point

2022-08-25 The Shim Update I have shimmed the butt plate so that it has tension on it when it is all the way in. This prevents it from moving around as there is no real lock to keep it in place, just a friction clamp. This simple change made the stock feel a lot more solid. I also shimmed the rubber cover for the butt plate itself so that it becomes ever so slightly wider on one side, as it was not pefectly aligned with the stock. It is still not perfect but it is better, I might redo this to better standard sooner or later. The factory grease was wiped out of the gun after a few cycles and replaced with fresh silicone grease, and the spring guide rod was polished. this in turn lead to an even smoother bolt with pretty much all feel of "grit" gone. I'm still not sure why pretty much all manufacturers decide to use a matte paint on the guide rods, it just makes performace worse.1 point

Here I will post updates on the PSG1 build. If you follow this thread, be patient as delivery times on the parts are pretty long, up to a month for some. The Original Thread, Includes build plan: Note: In the pictures, the rifle is equipped with placeholder parts borrowed from my VSR. They're going to be swapped for much higher end parts made for real rifles to ensure that they're able to handle GBBR recoil. The first thing I did after confirming the rifle was functional and all parts were sent was to polish the hammer and bolt carrier to ensure smooth cycling. The cocking handle support was also partly polished, it is not visible when the bolt is closed. As mentioned in the previous thread, the hammer will be replaced with a steel version if one is made for this gun. They were polished using a small file, 800 grit sandpaper and polishing compound. In the pictures they appear matte because as they have a thick coat of silicone grease. Airsoft YouTuber BadaBingPictures ( https://www.youtube.com/c/BadaBingPictures ) discovered that the grip is fragile. While I really like this gun, I agree that the grip could have been better, the solution to pin the two pieces together instead of gluing them or making a "snap in place" construction is a bit strange. To remedy this, I reinforced the grip with superglue, this will hopefully do until I've tracked down a real wood grip.1 point

Avenger63 Just noticed the following in one of his sales "I’m not a shop so no warranties, returns or repairs thanks" bahahah.... Yes you are. Just not one that gives a warranty Why would anyone pay that for a Vortex. You can get an Aimpoint or Eotech for the same money or better yet a Holosun Insanity. Its an ugly fucking scope too1 point

Always keep an eye on the odd few things, Vortex UH-1 Gen 2 as an example, stumbled across this on eBay via Patrolbase, blatant few hundred quid mark up above retail, dirty bit of profiteering going on there https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203864126561?hash=item2f773fb461:g:-E4AAOSwAa5hwwaC&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoAJ0nfvt1AwChVQH3DSbiJDOwACOG%2FYi%2FxAP4WhYBNpjnojc1Z9X13lGa1zSl6ZYpoP%2BReCMvRrNPQCqQaAnYBQDnQx8hyGoyOM0H90mYs1Otx92Zr0ogJF1ocfWZ32Qg8TZQv3flNmEqrFruD5vu0PW7yEPe%2Bs%2ByI%2FJKRJ24OoxktmRZIqpTDxDlC%2Bjdy9PhzCaCuP88SpxNJ3okoK0o%2BU%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8zD9NTaYA1 point -

Ak v3 nozzle change how easy is it to do?
Rogerborg reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
As with any gearbox keep a good track of shims when taking it apart, then you wont need to re shim. The hardest part of a v3 (especially one with a qd mainspring) is getting the trigger in, i advise taking care when popping the halves to ensure it stays in the bottom half, hopefully it should stay put and you wont have to mess with it. Otherwise once its split changing the nozzle is no different to any other box. As @Skara says the cu nozzle should be a little tight on the cylinder head because of the sealing o ring, as long as it still moves ok under spring tension (a little grease around the cylinder head tube on installation helps) then it's a good thing as it'll boost the air seal and hence performance.1 point -
V3 gearboxes are a pleasure to work with, swapping a nozzle is a relatively simple task. Take pictures of everything you do so you can backtrack when reassembling (or when you don't know where X bit goes), also be aware that the combat union nozzle is *TIGHT* against the cylinder head, doesn't affect performance but might be annoying.1 point

Been a while since I’ve bought anything other than ammo, but here’s my last few purchases. I also picked up a Colt Canada castle nut for my L119A1 from LCS but that’s not a very exciting photo. Black Crye UBACS Holy Warrior RMR and canted RMR mount Swatcom Activ8 Neckband Headset (ordered some Sordin Supreme Pros and got these as a free upgrade, can’t complain)1 point

Finally got me one of those pop-out bipod foregrips, £12 at Ant Supplies... Yeah, pretty sure it's going to make all the difference to my pistol shooting It'll probably go on my DE M906 as I think that's my longest ranged rifle at the moment, but it's quite a chunky thing, it may not be there long, I'll probably stick with stubby grips tbh. Also nabbed a gun bag from Action Hobbies boneyard section, room for a normal assault rifle, but it also has a sniper rifle extension, which will allow me to transport my M14 properly covered up, and a second section that's big enough for the AUG HC. All for £15, a good result as they are usually £60 I'd recommend it even at the full price.1 point -

One of the site regulars had an impromptu car boot sale today, lots of bargains to be had. I picked up the following lot for £50-odd: that's 2 moscarts and a launcher, battery bag, hi capa piston, m4 stock, mesh mask, rubber knife and a scope extension with honeycomb shade. Bargain I think. I've tested the moscarts already, can't wait to use them in anger...1 point
